We have already participated in the Grand Canyon South Rim tour twice before, and this is the third time. Last year, we also visited the Grand Canyon West Rim once and Hoover Dam twice. Each time, we made the reservation at the lobby of the Old Town Main Street Station Hotel and were very satisfied because we got on and off the bus at the same place. This time, the driver pick up tourists at five spots. We are the first stop near the Main Street Station Hotel, and there are six of us. But on the way back, the tour guide named Eric said that because he was tired, he would only drop us off at three stops. He also asked us to download a taxi app and take a taxi back to the hotel. After he finished speaking and sat back down, I went to talk to him and asked if he could drop us off near the Old Town hotel. But he refused. I told him that in all the previous day tours I had taken, the pick-up and drop-off places were the same. He then asked me if the previous tours I had taken were with this company ？and he would only drop us off at three stops this time. I really couldn't remember if the previous tours I had taken were with this company because I was always satisfied and had never experienced this situation before, so I didn't pay much attention to the company name. However, I will remember this Gray Line company from now on because this tour guide left a very bad impression on me. Before he drop us off , he also asked each tourist to give him a $20 tip. Later, we got off at Treasure Island, which is the closest stop to Old Town. We didn't give him a tip because his service was not satisfactory and we had to spend money and time taking a taxi back to the hotel. If I go on a day tour again in the future, I won't choose Gray Line, and I won't recommend it to others either. read more

False Advertising and Bait-and-Switch Scam Headline: PAID FOR LUXURY VAN, GOT A BASIC BUS--SCAM ALERT! I highly advise everyone to avoid Gray Line Las Vegas. I paid a premium price of $634.06 for two people to take the "Grand Canyon West Rim by Luxury Limo Van" tour, which is advertised with high-end Mercedes Van photos. Instead, we were picked up in a regular bus--the exact same service provided to passengers who only paid $205.00. When I contacted customer service, they admitted the vehicle was not a limo van but claimed the bus was "luxury" because it had leather seats. This is a blatant bait-and-switch. They offered a "goodwill" refund of only $65 per person, which doesn't even cover the $120 per person price difference between the luxury package and the standard bus tour I actually received. This company is knowingly overcharging for premium services they do not provide and then refusing to refund the difference when caught. Do not use this service. This review is regarding the small group tour (1/2 day) to the Valley of Fire on 4/30/26. Apologies for the lengthy review. I want to detail every issue, but as a quick summary, the process on the day before and the morning of the tour was disorganized and fit some of the reviews that referenced logistical hiccups, miscommunication or lack of, and other issues. Since most reviews were positive and I was pleased with my contact during the planning stage, I took a chance. First, the positives: Alexis in customer service was responsive to questions prior to reserving and with questions thereafter before arriving from the East Coast. The driver (Oscar) was very polite and helpful assisting me with a previously injured foot. The Valley of Fire - breathtaking views. Issues preventing this review from earning 5 stars: 1) Advertised (and assured via phone contact) that the vehicle would be a Mercedes Sprinter (or comparable vehicle). It was not. I could live with this. 2) Advertised there would be water and snacks. No snacks. I was also fine with no snacks. Just wanted to point out two misrepresentations on their website. 3) I was contacted the day before the trip to see if I was able to postpone to the next day since there were only a few of us scheduled. They were attempting to fill a van or bus -hence the request for Friday. I was unable to do so on short notice and with other plans. At this time, I was told there would be a call shortly to confirm pickup time and specific location (not the usual Treasure Island since a smaller vehicle/van would be able to stop directly at my hotel -the Venetian). Perfect - or so I thought. 4) After several hours waiting for a call with pickup time and specific location at the Venetian, I decided to call the company. It was getting later in the afternoon. I was told that pickup would be at the bus garage depot@7:15am. I did not know where that was so I called the hotel concierge. There is no such place - only the ride share area but tours are not picked up there. 5) When I called back and reached the same person to inform him there was only a ride share area and tours do not pick up there, he insisted that is where we would be picked up at 7:15am and by driver "VO." I mentioned to my friend that I foresee a problem in the AM. 6) After having injured my foot just before pickup, I hobbled the distance to the ride share pickup still uncertain this was the correct location. It was 7:20 am so I called the company and asked where the driver was. She said he was on his way. Shortly after, the driver (not VO) but Oscar called and said he was at the front entrance. Tour vans are not permitted to enter the ride share area, he said. So, in pain and several minutes later, we made it back toward the front of the hotel. Furthermore, I was assured the front row would be reserved for us, as it was difficult for us to maneuver to the back rows even before the foot injury. Oscar was not informed of this request but the young couple kindly moved for us. 7) I provided direct feedback via a written survey to the company and received an apology but also an explanation that did not fully address my main concern: receiving NO communication regarding pickup time and location for the morning. I also asked for the contact information of upper management (3 different emails) and no response. I indicated that I believe in addressing concerns directly to management rather than a negative review. I have only written a few reviews in my lifetime and they were positive ones. After finding emails for the CEO and a front office manager, I emailed both with no response. Additionally, I emailed customer service to confirm they were the correct emails as days had passed with no acknowledgement. No response received. In closing, while one or two issues are certainly understandable and would be overlooked, not receiving a call back with time and location are unacceptable. The customer should not need to call back (twice on the day before and once the morning of) for pickup information. It is unfortunate that even with misrepresentations on the website (no Mercedes Sprinter type vehicle, no snacks) in addition to the disorganized arrangement on the day before and having two senior citizens go from one end of the hotel to the other (one with a foot injury), this company could not even issue a small, partial refund as a good will gesture or respond with the emails of upper management. I truly believe that the CEO would not be pleased with a lack of organization and efficiency when arranging some of these tours. Others on the tour paid less (via 3rd party) which is fine. However, that indicates that even a $10-$20 refund would not impact the profit line for this particular tour, especially since they hired out a van from Maverick Tours. I do hope that Gray Line Tours does the right thing (at least not misrepresent this tour on their website and improve communication practices). read more

Super late review but my bf and I had our tickets booked at the lobby of our hotel at the California Hotel and Casino for the Grand Canyon South Rim Tour during the first week of January. January 3rd, 2022. We told front desk that we wanted to book it for the next day and we were lucky. There was exactly 2 seats left and squeezed us in last minute. It is $180 per ticket and we were told to dress super warm because it is very white up there and being the Hawaii locals we are, we were geeked to see the snow!! Front desk gave us informations we needed and what phone number to call just in case we had to call them, which later on came in handy because we were told that we were the first ones to get picked up at The Golden Nugget around 5:30AM, but the bus arrived around 5-10 minutes late which is very tolerable! We got on the bus and the rest of the day went accordingly. I don't remember both the tour guides names but they were nice and very patient. We even had a glance of the hoover dam on the way back to Las Vegas at the end of the day. The ticket purchased came with a free meal for lunch, and we had stopped by for our own pizza. There were quite a few stops along the way for souvenirs and really glad I got an experience with gray line. We had so much fun, especially in the snow!! read more

I want to start off by thanking Gray Line for picking up where GC Destinations left off. I spent a long time comparing companies and prices prior to my arrival in Las Vegas. I had three other choices, none of them were this company. I went with Grand Canyon Destinations because of all the solid reviews and decent price, but they failed me. The day prior to my trip, I get a call that they canceled the bus--I'm furious; at the time I was walking around The Fremont Experience enjoying my day and this isn't the call I wanted to get. I went to my second choice, they didn't answer and neither did my third option. I had remember seeing this company on Groupon, but just bypassed it. I circled back and decided to give them a call. I didn't think about purchasing the Groupon, which had a better deal $80 bucks, but when i call direct I was told it was $100, which was still less than I paid the other company, so I jumped at it. I was staying at The Palazzo and they told me my pickup would be at Treasure Island, which was right across the street. I go to the location and the bus gets there around 10-15 minutes later. The wonderful driver, who I can't recall his name, had a sign in sheet and everyone boarded the bus. I paid the remainder of the fee and we took off. The seats were comfortable, I mean it is a bus, but unfortunately, I got stuck with two idiots who leaned the chair all the way back. I was irate, as they were the only ones who did such a thing. I didn't want to come off as the big bully so I didn't say anything. This was no fault of the bus company, so I downy blame them in any way. The driver spoke constantly for about an hour or so. Giving us great information Vegas and the surrounding counties. He continues to give good information about Arizona and The Canyon, itself. He was funny and threw in some jokes to lighten the mood as the trip was about 14 hours, both ways. We stopped at a restaurant stop for snacks, always told us how much time we would have, what to expect and was extremely fair. When at the destination, I purchased a movie ticket for the IMAX show, I was the only one who did, he told me he would give me extra time because he knew that sometimes it goes over the allotted time, which I appreciated. I ended up leaving the movie because it was a snooze fest, save your money! With the purchase of your ticket, you're provided lunch at Pizza Hut. He breaks down all your choice and the various options. He was extremely thorough with everything he did and there were no surprises. He even mentioned that certain things I the website aren't accurate, such as the Wi-Fi and reminded us to call the company, and he had no control of that. We had ample time to eat lunch (one hour) at the visitor center. We got an hour and a half almost at the Canyon and then an additional 45 minutes at the Indian Point. We then began to head back and had a chance to stop in Kingman on the way back to buy dinner (not included). There's a McDonalds, Burger King and Arby's. At that point, our driver was given relief since he had been driving almost 14 hours, I appreciated everything he did and gave him a $20. Don't forget to tip your your guide/driver, I couldn't imagine driving so much and still remaining upbeat and answering questions all day. Thank you, Gray Line. Grand Canyon was top three of things I was looking forward to doing in Vegas. My other company failed me, but you guys came through. Gray Line Tours made for a very gray day indeed. My wife, Helensch, and I had booked a Grand Canyon tour for Christmas Day, as we personally love canyons. The bus turned up at least 40 minutes late, leaving us and the other confused passengers standing in the cold at 6 o'clock in the morning on day of the birth of our Lord and saviour (Jesus H. Christ). Once the tour began, our driver, Terent, informed us that the restroom on the bus was broken. This is a colossal problem for us, as my wife, Hank, has a comically small bladder. The solution was that the bus would stop more frequently for toilet breaks, which solved the urinary issues, but delayed the journey by several hours. We were on the bus for what felt like a decade before we arrived at the scheduled lunch stop, which was a Pizza Hut. The line at the Pizza Hut was as long as the lies Terent had told us about our journey time. After consuming our personal pizzas, we were finally taken to the Grand Canyon, which I can confirm, is grand. Then we were driven home while Kung Fu Panda played on the bus TV. However during the penultimate scene, Terent informed us that he had somehow "hit his daily driving limit" and he disappeared in a carpark somewhere. A new driver got on board, who for some reason insisted on speaking with an added echo effect on her voice. She was obsessed with the Hoover Dam, which she showed us, but by this point it was dark. Like, really dark. So we couldn't see the damn dam. The main issue with this trip is that it was around 16hrs long, for only 2hrs at the Grand Canyon. That is true. If you don't believe me, ask Terent. If I was Gray Line, I would change the tour name from 'Grand Canyon Tour' to 'Various Public Restroom In The Desert Tour (with brief intermission at Canyon). Well we booked the Grand Canyon Luxury bus tour which was promised to be 10-14 people in size in a Mercedes Sprinter as pictured on their website. What we got instead was a 30 passenger Ford Super Duty with broken not cold air conditioning holding 25-30 passengers! We also were promised bottled water, which was literally a case of water left on the bus floor uncooled and left to sit in the bus while we were out seeing sights. The water was like drinking hot tap water... Our day started off being picked up 40 minutes late at the hotel. Then we proceeded to breakfast at a gas station subway, this was alright, but I was kind of expecting it to be slightly more organized than just go inside and tell them you are with Gray Line... We then proceeded to go to the West Rim, the ride there was ok, but quite warm and most passengers were complaining about the high temperature in the so called "Luxury" bus... Once we arrived at the West Rim we were given our tickets to the skywalk, once at the Skywalk the experience was alright, not super organized, but it was not bad... Once we got back on the bus it was again we had only the warm water and the air was again terrible and did not drop below 85 degrees in the bus the entire time... if you are wondering how I know this the bus was equipped with a air temp sensor that showed the temp of the bus at all times....needless to say it was quite unpleasant after being out at the Grand Canyon for 4 hours in 110 degree heat. So we had to once again suffer in a 85 degree bus for 2.5 hours back to the Vegas Strip! As the trip went on the temperature in the bus got up to 92 degrees... To sum it up, Gray Line told me when booking 10-14 passengers in a Mercedes Sprinter luxury bus, we got 25-30 in a Fire Super Duty bus with bad barely working air conditioning, hot water, and a 40 minute late pick up! The driver Terrance was hysterical. He kept us laughing while providing us with good information about the history of the areas we drive through, which made the lengthy trip more enjoyable. The sites were amazing and if you cannot walk too far (like me) the shuttle buses at the Grand Canyon dropped us near the scenic areas, and there were plenty of places to sit. Also he made a stop at a nice gas station for restroom breaks on the way to the grand canyon, and back. There was also a restroom in the bus. read more

If I could give zero, I would. I would not recommend this company. Bus had no working bathroom, charging ports didn't work, TV's didn't work. Uncomfortable seats. Found out from other passengers that we were charged different prices. What was to be a 12 hour day turned into a fifteen hour day because we had to make so many bathroom breaks. Also, the drivers side window was dirty. Told us that they give us free water, which they did, but... it was warm. There was a cooler with water but no ice. We were threatened to be left there if we didn't get back to the bus in the short amount of time they gave us. The only plus was seeing the Grand Canyon. Please do not use this company. read more

Me & James did the South Rim Canyon tour on 12/15/18 and it was a great experience. Only read this if you want to learn some tips and nits. You can save yourself as much as an hour if you take an Uber to the Gray Line terminal rather than have the shuttle pick you up. It's a 5 hour bus trip, be prepared to keep yourself occupied and entertained. Most of the drive there is non eventful. You will get a brief drive-by of the Hoover Dam and Boulder City along the way. Our driver was Lafayette, he did a great job as a narrator and driver. He was safe, entertaining and informative. You will stop enroute going and returning for a bio/food break in Kingman, Az. Don't expect much, fast-food is your best option. Once you arrive at the Grand Canyon National Park, they do offer a box lunch, a turkey sandwich, apple, chips and cookie. Me & James booked through Viatour so we had the Papillion Helicopter tour add on which I would highly recommend. At the Canyon, you will find multiple trail options and they have a hop on/hop off bus they makes a continuous loop with various stops. You get a free map of the trails and the bus lines. The bus is a double decker and your best views are from the top deck. There are charge stations so you can bring a device. They show a movie going and returning, it won't be Star Wars. The video screens on our side of the bus didn't work. They do have a bathroom on the lower level and I would highly recommend you bring an extra roll of important paper. It will the closest thing to an outhouse experience if you've never done one, experience the honey pot, phew! Do no, I repeat do not have the bus drop you at your hotel upon return to Las Vegas. It will be over an hour in the evening traffic getting through all the parking decks, street lights and Vegas Blvd. Get off at the first hotel stop and take an Uber and save yourself up to 2 hours. read more

My husband and I took the half day tour to the Hoover Dam a week ago. I can't say enough good things about this tour! A good change of pace from the strip and very educational. Our guide Mike narrated the whole thing with a lot of interesting, knowledgeable facts. He was also very funny and made 2 stops on the way. The first stop was at the LasVegas sign(primarily to take pictures). The second was at Lake Mead and to see the wildlife of the area. For people from the East Coast this was a real experience. Being right in the mountains the different scenery and change in temperature. PS bottled water was provided on this trip. read more

The driver drops us off at the terminal and picks us up after 4 hours to take us back. We bought the ticket for the skywalk on their website Which was $25 per person even though you can buy it at the cashier for $20. Wonderful! It's the Grand Canyon, it can't rate less than 5 stars. The trip started with a pickup at a nearby hotel in downtown Vegas. The pickup location instructions were not clear at all which resulted in me rushing from one end of the hotel to the other at 6:30 am trying to find the pickup location. For example, if the tour company had said "pickup at the Golden Nugget h2O swimming pool entrance doors" instead of the "entrance on 1st Street", it would have been perfect. But because they didn't and the entrance was labeled, street signs not visible, not even on my phone map, I had to walk up the block simply to read the street sign. The driver was fabulous, I'm sorry I forgot his name. The drive to GP was not bad at all and included a bathroom/snack break at a travel center. It was a treat seeing the desert while in an air-conditioned vehicle with tinted windows. Unfortunately, two of the stops which we paid for were closed due to the pandemic so we only visited the West rim but the cost of the trip was not reduced. After arrival at GP, we were told confusing instructions about where to pickup lunch which was to be provided on this trip. Once inside the park, there were no signs on where to pick up lunch. We went to both shuttle stops only to learn the lunch was at the first shuttle stop so we hopped back on board and rode back to where we'd already been. Although lunch was a deli sandwich, chips, fruit, and a bottle of water, the service at the GP snack building was EXTREMELY slow. Some persons in our party waited 45 minutes for a deli sandwich to be made and it never made it. To avoid being late for the bus pickup to return to Vegas, those person had to leave without a lunch. This lunch was paid for as a part of the tour. I don't understand why the snack restaurant staff were so slow. They were making deli sandwiches and I'm sure they didn't have to make the bread from scratch or wait for the fruit to grow out back before they could pack the lunch. Subway and Jimmy John's staff make deli sandwiches everyday and they handle crowds. They don't take 30-45+ mins to make a deli sandwich and they even toast the bun which this place didn't do / didn't offer. I chose the turkey bacon guacamole wrap. I waited about 30+ mins for it. After taking a few bites, it felt like two wraps merged together so I took off some of the wrap. That's when I discovered the bacon hadn't been cooked. It was raw (see pic). It was too late to return the wrap as we were already on the bus to return to Vegas. Of course, I didn't eat anymore of the raw bacon at that point but I wonder if anyone got the same? Raw pork can make one deathly ill. The food portion of this trip needs revamping in light of the pandemic limitations. The rest of the trip, including the stop for pics at a forest of Joshua trees, was excellent! read more

They asked us to be outside the hotel at 6:00 am with horrible weather and they arrived at 7:48 am, the bus broke down due to lack of maintenance in the middle of the road and we lost 2 hours. Obvious we lost the helicopter tour and they delayed us for the other shows that we already had paid for. After all this they only returned a part of what we paid. (we paid $1,800.00) Look for another company. This has no quality and they are only interested in charging you. They are NOT interested in customer service read more

STAY AWAY! This company is greedy, not well planned, and the full cost only covers the bus ride. We had a tour scheduled with a 9:10 pickup. We were told to arrive at least 15 minutes early. Bus did not arrive till after 9:30. Made multiple additional stops driving in and out of the Vegas strip. We were on the bus for an additional 90 minutes just picking up more people. We were informed that part of the delay was due to having 12 additional people book the more of the tour. This changed our listed return time from the 2:00 we were told to 4:30. Multiple had plans and ended up getting off the tour at the last pickup due to the unplanned, and before that stop unannounced, change in return time. On top of all the BS above, we were told that the tour of the inside of the dam was part of the cost. It is not. The driver also ended having to skip parts of the tour because of the mess during pickup. We could have rented a car and spent the day driving and doing what we wanted for less than what we paid this crap company. Do yourself a favor and rent a car or use a different tour line. read more

The bottom line is that the helicopter tour company (Papillon) and the guest center operations (the Hualapai tribe) were excellent, whereas the tour bus operators (Gray Line) and the booking company (Viator) were abysmal. Before I get into the details, my advice: rent a car, drive to the west rim visitor center yourself, book with Papillon directly, enjoy the hospitality of the Hualapai, and save yourself hundreds of dollars per person and the justified indignation and time. For reference, here's the email I wrote to their customer support ... --- "Your operator, the gray line tour guide & coach driver, so badly fouled up the logistics in our trip to the west rim--about an hour late arriving, was uninformed and unhelpful with guidance about where to go when we arrived, left a few people behind at the grand canyon at departure, didn't notice until about an hour into the return drive took *everyone* back to pick those folks up, returned us to our pick-up about 2.5 hours late--that multiple passengers had to miss reservations, up to & including missed flights. "The activities at the west rim that we *did* get to do--helicopter into the canyon, boat ride up the Colorado--were great. However, due to the issues with time we only had about 30 minutes in the visitors center before we had to leave, and weren't able to visit any other attractions, including eagle point where we had paid to visit the Grand Canyon Skywalk. "Members of our party also overheard your operator speaking very inconsiderately to other paying customers. "As it stands, I am already planning to reach out to your company and receive a refund for every part of the tour that *wasn't* the helicopter and boat ride. I will tell you honestly that the one way you can redeem your company and avoid a *lot* of negative reviews is to prepare to do the same for everyone who went to the west rim on January third." --- In their response, the company admitted fault and even indicated that retraining or termination of this operator was forthcoming, and then refunded me only a fraction of what I would've expected. When I laid out a rational explanation for how insufficient their remedy was, their customer service had the gall to accuse me of asking for payment in return for positive reviews, saying "[...] this would amount to Gray Line effectively paying compensation for positive reviews." So, literally adding insult to injury. Ultimately, I would say avoid Gray Line in any package, and view Viator's offerings with profound skepticism. read more

The Grand Canyon is amazing!! That being said, get there any other way possible. Hell, walking backwards on one leg would be more enjoyable. A '14 hour trip' turned into a 18+ hour trip. Most one star reviews for this company focus on crazy bus drivers. Our driver, Prince, was not the issue. He has a schedule and I get it. However, the schedule lead to the one star. I am OK with frequent leg-stretch stops. What made me crazy was the helicopter stop. Ten people paid for a helicopter tour. They were on our bus. We dropped them off, went to lunch, they flew around, we then spent another 45 minutes waiting for them - time which could have been spent at the Canyon. The bus should have dropped us off at the GC, returned to the heli base to pick them up, and then gone back to the GC. One non- heli passenger said he clocked the time this helicopter time suck lasted at 90 minutes. One slight complaint our family had with Prince is that he kept saying how things were covered by the bus company; lunch 'we got this', admission to the park; 'we gotcha covered', of course you did, we paid for it with the trip price. Typically the one star reviews are commented on by a company employee named Michael. Judging by all of the one stars this must be his only job. What a terrible job it must be. TLDR: Distracted bus drivers, disappointing (racist at times) communication, and extra stops detracted from my experience on this tour. Read specific examples from my trip below: As we got going our bus driver (Robert R.) explained that on "his" version of this tour we stop every 100mi. All of this extra break time took time away from the GC once we got there because of our driver's lacking communication skills around getting people back on the bus during breaks. Robert offered minimal local trivia and demonstrated an uncomfortable level of professionalism and competence despite having 40+ years of driving experience. Throughout the trip he made several remarks that ranged from insensitive to racist, and was an abysmal communicator. Upon pulling into a pickup stop, Robert exclaimed on the microphone: "We're at the Tahiti! Ladies, take your tops off!!" He made multiple mentions about being a nudist/naturalist. When we were stopped at a gas station/Mexican food truck on the way back, a dog was walking near the food truck. Robert said: "Good thing this is a Mexican place and not a Korean place!" and went on an unprompted tangent about his son who tried to buy dog meat in Korea. He also admitted that he has to be careful who he tells that story around because of "PC" culture. We had a small group with us who did not speak English well. There was a clear language barrier that he dismissed when they boarded and did not effectively communicate through. This group misunderstood him on multiple occasions and instead of clearing it up after the first time, he started talking about them negatively to himself/the front of the bus. The second time they were late, he yelled things like "don't you have a clock!?" The third time they were late he allowed other passengers to berate them for several minutes. After this he pulled out an app to translate a passive-aggressive message to Italian. Not once did he try to pull this group aside to give them clear, simple directions. Other passengers were also late getting back to the bus on subsequent breaks, which Robert did not comment on or redirect. Every break took anywhere from 5-40 minutes longer. While driving, Robert answered a call about his manifest, and I watched him shuffle through and read pages of paper that he has stuffed on the dashboard. He also gave another driver the finger when trying to merge in front of the other driver in line for park entry. As we neared the park, we were rushed into lunch because we thought we had a long wait ahead of us. The lunch tickets were confusing and I felt too rushed to think clearly because we were told to get in and back on the bus quickly. This, of course, was poorly communicated and enforced by Robert, so some people sat down to eat and he was annoyed. Fortunately we waited less than an hour to get into the park. In spite of getting in quicker than expected, I spent less than 2hrs between the two stops we made at the south rim. I wish there was a bus lane for timed tours like this one, because we were already crunched for time as it was thanks to the breaks we took getting there. On the way back we had to switch drivers, which I totally understood. However, our relief driver was late and took his time getting prepared to drive. Once we did get going, his attention was split between the road, the audio, and phone. He was even trying to glue something so that his phone would stick to the dash! He asked another passenger to glue it together for him since he couldn't get the glue to come out. I noticed that both he and Robert drove with their high-beams on. At one point there was a car on the shoulder with hazards on, but our driver didn't get into the next lane- instead we blew right past this car, where a person was working on their tire! I was so worried that we clipped them because of how fast we were going. Our relief driver took another break, making the last leg of a miserable trip even worse because he communicated less about the timeliness of breaks. Positives: the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, and perfect weather. I feel cheated out of the time I could have spent at the Grand Canyon and will be renting a car next time. read more

Ok... this was a pretty shitty experience. I won't walk you thru every minute of our 17 hour "tour". My wife and I booked the Grand Canyon South Rim bus tour thru cayontours.com, this site is a broker that works with Gray Line Las Vegas. Negatives: 1. This brokerage system makes it difficult to get real review info on who is actually taking u on a tour. 2. Pickup at some random hotel at 5:30am. Unmarked bus moves from stop to stop picking up other victims. 3. Brought to the "terminal" and asked to stand in line while a loud, high energy snake-oil sales guy pitches different options at you. 4. Everyone on the bus! The bus was a scene in itself. The seats are small! We are average/smaller sized people and it was tight. Also absolutely packed with smelly, cranky people. 5. The driver Sam. At the end of the night Sam stopped a McDonald's for all of us to "get dinner" then before we left he walked up and down the aisle pressing everyone for a tip. Awkward 6. There's too much to list... we spent $200 more for the Buckwild hummer tour, froze our asses off in the rain and didn't get to see anything at the canyon due to the fog. We didn't get back to our car until like 11pm and I will never-ever do this again. read more

Even though we got off a little late Derrick still made good time and we were able to complete the attractions we signed up for. The ride was not that long and Derrick stopped for restroom breaks. We just did the Greyline Tour from Vegas to Grand Canyon and it was amazing!! The 14+ hour trip was planned out so well I seriously don't think it would have been as great experience if we planned it on our own!! Sadly I forget our bus drivers name but he lives in Kingman AZ and was INCREDIBLE!!! He kept us laughing the entire time and was a great driver!Thank you for making our first time a memorable trip!!! PS- Ignore. Reviews about the start of the tour.. Yes a small bus picks you up and then takes you to the main building you leave from. They give you a quick run through of the upgrades but they are good to know since next time we now know to do the Buck Wild tour. The rest of the time they give you great detailed run down of what to expect! Being our first time taking a bus tour and at the Grand Canyon we were so happy to know where we were going and what we would be doing! The tour provides pick up and drop off at a few hotel spots, provides lunch at the Skywalk (lunch was delicious , 1 choice of food and drink). Once you get to the site, you have to use the transportation of the site (no other company or private cars can enter. The land is controlled by the Indian tribes). Our tour is West Rim, from pick up 7:30 am , we arrive at the site about 11 and having about 3-4 hours for two points (Eagle point and Guano point. Between points, there will be shuttle bus. Our driver aka tour guide was Danny Ho. He was funny, friendly and knowledgeable. Provides us a lot of information and history, he also tried his best to accommodate your need. Don't forget to give him a tip to thank him at the end of the tour. The tour pick up at 7-7:30 and drop off around 5-6pm. You dont have to bring anything because they provide lunch and you can shop For snack, drink at the breakroom stop. read more

Horrible! Vacation was ruined and had to be canceled due to a malfunction in the plane, which caused us to have to cancel our vacation due to rerouting flights and times. This company would not refund the money and also wanted to charge us a $25 per person moving fee. This company doesn't care about their clients but about the money. read more

He was very knowledgeable about Las Vegas and the Hoover Dam and history of the area. We had a blast and highly recommend it for something different in Vegas to do. Booked the Hoover Dam Tour which "Includes Government-guided power plant tour". Unfortunately the Power plant tour was not possible which the Bus company knew since weeks but did not inform us (and gave us a Ticket for the visitor centor without any explanation). Like this we waisted nearly a full day. Had we taken a car we could have done a smaler tour which was carried out just when we had to leave with the bus. Also there are a lot of unecessary stops. Would not reccomend it. read more

The other one star reviews are pretty similar experience my family had on their south rim tour. The driver kept talking about we needed to be on time but we were never more than 5 minutes late to the bus as a collective bus group. Majority of the trip is driving, you get about an hour at the south rim and then an hour at the gift shop. Our first driver wouldn't stop going on about tips arent mandatory but are appreciated for like a half hour. We had a second driver on the way back to Vegas and that guy was way better. Either way I'd recommend going to the Grand Canyon on your own. read more

I got an email from Yelp HQ today letting me know they removed it and that they think it's for this location so looks like they rebranded/renamed. Anyway, here is my previous review: Overall, the tour was pretty good, but I think some of the info was misrepresented in the description. I did the Hoover Dam Deluxe Tour which lists highlights of self guided tour of chocolate factory, buffet lunch at Fiesta, photo stop at Las Vegas sign, and guided tour inside Hoover Dam. The shuttle picked me up at my hotel at 9am and brought me and others to their terminal location where we were briefed, signed in, etc and then we would go out to our respective tour locations. We got to the Hoover Dam probably around 11am. We stopped at the air bridge along the way which was really cool to see, but the driver gave us only 15 minutes!! That was enough to get up there, take a few quick photos, and come back down. The Hoover Dam was great and we were there for just over 2 hours. The powerplant tour was really interesting and I'm glad that I came for this. I had plenty of time to walk around and take my own pics, explore the shop, etc. Great experience at the dam. From the dam, we went to Fiesta Henderson for lunch. We were told nothing about being there for anything other than lunch. We get to Fiesta at 2pm and the driver tells us he'll be back to pick us up at 4:30pm! WHAT?? 2.5 hours for lunch?? Basically the driver had to take all the Express tour people back to their hotels. This seemed pretty mismanaged and I really think there should've been another vehicle to take them back. I was stuck in a casino for 2.5 hours with nothing to do. I didn't go on this tour to gamble. Not to mention, they told us we'd be back at hotels by 5pm so I had scheduled dinner plans. We were all confused because we knew there was another stop at a chocolate factory - was it at the casino? Was that why we were given 2.5 hours? Nope. Driver comes back and we head to chocolate factory after that which would have been interesting if it was actually during business hours when people were working. But all we saw was "look, here's where they make chocolate" but not any of the process or anything. The cactus garden was pretty cool though. I was back at my hotel at 6pm and missed my dinner plans. Also, we did not stop at the Last Vegas sign at all. I don't really care, but don't say you're stopping somewhere and then don't. Overall, the Hoover Dam portion made it worth it. Had I known I was spending 2.5 hours stuck in a casino, I would've opted for the Express tour and saved the rest of my afternoon. The audio tour on the bus was interesting along the way as well. My advice - don't waste your time on the Deluxe tour unless you want to spend a decent amount of time at another casino. read more

All I can say is that I am so grateful for this company! My boyfriend and I had booked a Grand Canyon tour to do during our vacation in Vegas. However, the original tour company cancelled on us a little over a day before our tour was supposed to happen! Luckily, Gray Line was able to accommodate us extremely last minute, and thanks to this company, we were able to see the Canyon :). Now, about the tour itself: we were picked up at 7:10 am at the hotel by the tour bus. The drive there was around 2 hours, with one 20 minute rest stop at a gas station/convenience store. When we got to the canyon, the tour bus driver let everyone go off on our own for about 2.5-3 hours. The West Rim site includes the canyon & a Native American reservation. The ticket also includes free lunch! There are a couple of small shops, so there are some opportunities to shop and buy souvenirs! After that, the bus heads back to the hotels, with again, one rest stop. Overall, the day lasted about 10 hours and it was COMPLETELY WORTH IT!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TOUR! I am writing to express our very disappointing experience we had with this tour company, their lack of accepting responsibility and their poor customer service. We purchased tickets online, confirmed, and showed up for pickup a half hour before schedule. 1. Bus was late on pickup, no acceptance by tour guides as to being late, just that they were late because they had to pickup so many people? (20 mins. Late) 2. After on the bus the next stop we went the bus went to wrong area of hotel and wasted time driving around back out of hotel to only come back around to another area to pick up more guests.(15 mins. Wasted) 3. Was not informed of scheduling issues on the tour company side until we were already on tour. From conversations we heard the tour guide having on the phone. Our tour of the Hoover Dam with guided generator tour was not possible because the tour started at 11am, and we had not even been dropped off at visitor center area and it was 10:50am. (Too late to get tickets) 4. Your tour guide informed all of us once we were back on the bus, and heading into the dam security. Guide apologized many times, but also stated many times that it was not their fault. Guide explained that tour times were changed, and it is not the tour company fault. I would not agree with this and the the tour guide should know when tours are and keep the tour on schedule. THAT IS THEIR JOB. 5. Tour guide informed us that we could upgrade our tickets to a 1 pm tour and still go on the tour we booked with generator guided tour and contact graylines about getting reimbursed. Guide stated it would only be $5 more. Once we got into the vistor center area, we asked dam workers about upgrading and was told we could not, because our tickets were bought as part of a tour group. We then asked about getting a complete new set of tickets with the guided tour if generator room ($15/each), and we agreed since that was the tour we signed up for. But was then told the next available tour was available at 1:45pm, and our tour guide said we had to be back on the bus by 1:55pm, so not enough time for the tour we came for. Overall there was little to no beneficial guidance from our tour guide. No information on where we needed to go to get to the visitor center, as we got off the bus. Most facts that were stated on the bus were inaccurate, and were generally rambled off as if having a general conversations with people seated by the tour guide. Contacted their customer service and got zero response in 24 hrs. Contacted a second time and recieved an email stating they would get back to me in 3-5 business days. Recieved a 2nd email 4 business days later stating it was not their fault. They did refund $5/person the tour, but they also saved that same $5/person by buying this tickets to the dam without the generator room tour. So they truley did not refund anything for their lack of providing a positive touring experince. The tour company blamed everything and everyone except themselves for running such a poor tour. This tour took a huge negative impact our tour of the dam that day, and even the rest of the day after such a bad experience. This was by far the worst tour I have ever been on, and the lack of this company not accepting any responsibility for this poor experience is horrible. Will NEVER use this tour company again. Didn't start out very well. We had to people with scooters and the transport door wasn't working right. Had to wait for another bus to take us to the registration location and then wait for our regular driver with another bus and the two scooter people to arrive. Although our driver was wonderful, all this delayed us from completing our schedule on time. Had to cut our trip short at the cactus garden. ;( All in all, it was a great trip and very educational. read more
