Took car in for usual oil service. Although all the boxes were checked.. they DID NOT clean windshield. Windshield has a million dead bugs on it.. and NO indication they even tried to clean it . LIARS. They recommended transmission fluid change when I just had one done less than a thousand miles ago and IF they had actually checked would have seen it looked good. Told me wipers were good when I know they are bad and miss a whole section of windshield because they need to be replaced. What else did they miss? Did they actually change the oil? Top notch place to get your oil changed. They cleaned my windows and vacuumed my floors. They up-sell as expected but are completely respectful when you decline (no fear mongering). Hot coffee for me and bottled water for my little guy. They were fast, pleasant, and so very gentleman like! They got the door for me as I left the building. Another technician was waiting by my door to open it for me and also had my little boys door open for him. The whole staff said goodbye to us as we left and they said they hope to see us again. My husband just went to change the oil and forgot the coupon. I called and asked if they would let him bring it back or charge full price and then give him a credit when he returned with coupon. They would not do this. If their coupon had a barcode, I could understand this. But with no barcode they are manually discounting and this should have been easy for them to do. We have been changing the oil there since they opened. We will no longer patronize this business. I am giving them one star because at least they told my husband I called and why (car was already in the bay) and gave him the option of leaving, which he did. Customer service goes a long way - try Amazon or Office Depot - they go out of their way for you. Grease Monkey might want to take some lessons from these businesses in Customer Service - especially for long time customers! read more

I have been taking my truck to this location as it was convenient and they were fast and quick. They were always trying to up sell (which is their job, I understand) to the "Best and Required" add-ons for my truck. Therefore I sent my Son to them because I figured they would be honest and not try to sell them something that is not necessary. I explained to him that he does not need to have all the add on stuff so just get an oil change and he should be good. So I find out today that he went in on Saturday and then someone told him he needed to have the extra $150.00 Transmission maintenance. He assumed that it was a major problem based on the recommendation and ended up walking out with a bill for $250.00 Grant it my son has special needs and sometimes does not quite understand they way things are presented to him so he assumed based on the info given that it was "required" I spoke with the manager and he said that no one there ever tells anyone that they "need" things but they offer it. I tried to listen to their audio recording of the incident and it was totally unintelligible so I could not hear anything that actually happened. I will never take any of my families vehicles to them ever again and I will make sure that everyone knows not to use them again. And just to be clear I have recommended this place to "Many" people and that will no longer be the case. DONT USE THEM UNLESS YOU MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT IS "NEEDED" versus what is required. read more

I normally have decent service at Grease Monkey. But today, Grease Monkey refused to honor a REBATE check. The rebate check was made out directly to Grease Monkey, from Halvoline/Chevron's recent promotion. My last oil change was in May 2019... and my car was ready for it's next oil change today. (I work from home and only drive my car once a week... it takes about 6 months to reach the 3,000 mile mark.) I held that rebate check in my wallet this whole time ready to use it at my "next oil change" as promised. Grease Monkey refused to honor the rebate, claiming the rebate check "expired". I'M DONE... never going back. Sick of companies lying to customers about their promotions. I wrote to Halvoline/Chevron with my complaint as well. I have many, many vehicles... Took my truck in for a transmission service and after that service was done they recommended I change the radiator cap which I said go a ahead. Later that day I hooked up my 5th wheel trailer and headed towards the coast, when I go about 30 miles away my truck just shut down and found it was seriously overheated. I replaced the water and put the factory cap back on and returned to the store, spoke with the manager and also the owner where the immediately said that it was the truck, then they said it was I had a trailer and was over the towing capacity and finally after taking them to small claims court they said it was that I had run the truck out of oil. End result is I have had to spend over $6800 to replace the engine. I am still dealing with this in court. A neighbor also has had problems 60 days later where they did an oil change and took 2 visits to find that the filter had a hole in it (A corporate rep was in the store during his last visit). These guys are honest and know cars. Rarely will they tell you to do things that are absolutely needless. If there's an error, they will rectify it. If I could put negative stars I would. Just as others indicated here they try to upsell you on unnecessary services and products. My fiancé stopped in here on 7/11/13 for an oil change. She told them she only wanted an oil change. They told her that last year when she was in that she declined an engine flush but they recommended she have it done this time. She knows nothing about cars so of course she said yes. Not only that, but they indicated that the capacity of the engine is large enough that they needed to use twice the engine flush chemical. Why are you putting chemicals in the engine that are not recommended by the manufacturer? When I called, they refused to do anything about it. I told the manager I would file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, their corporate HQ, and that I will use social media to post what they did on this oil change. The owner called me back and offered me $30. HA! Then he said he doesn't like his business being called out on shoddy and dishonest business practices. Well I guess you better change your business practices then because that's exactly what they are. And apparently, based on these reviews, I'm not the only one who thinks so. I went to your location in Mill Creek today, I told the manager that I had forgot my $10 coupon at home and asked if he could he honor it. He said that he could not. I told him that it had happened before and they took care of me. He told me to go home and get it and come back. When I told him that I did not want to drive all the way home and come back, he again said that he could not do anything. So........... I am at home looking at the computer to find a new place to get an oil change, I noticed that on your web site you offer a $10 discount. Why would you chase away a loyal customer ( look at your records) when all you had to do is offer the discount instead of THE COUPON ?????????????? As like a lot of companies, You saved $10 today, but you lost a customer that would have spent thousands of dollars on their 2 cars in the years to come. Similar experience, per other postings. Don't go here. I went in for a brake light replacement on my '09 car. 3 guys tried to get the cover off. In retrospect, they should have sent me on my way to someone who could do it properly. Then, the light was changed, and I got home to find the entire cover was loose. There is no way they could have not known they broke the cover - it was sticking out from the body of the car. I took the car to Smart Service Subaru, who clarified the clips were broken, and the cover would come off in a carwash or such. $220 to fix it. I spoke to the Grease Monkey manager, who said he'd talk to the owner about reimbursing me. Never heard back. Left a voice mail for Rick Juarez at Corporate in Denver. Didn't hear back. Wrote him, and received a reply back that the owner and manager denied the claim. This operation doesn't have the sense to send you elsewhere if they are having a problem on your car, nor the ethics to tell you they broke something. Just be warned. read more

I only gave them one star because no stars was not an option. My 16 year old daughter took my '97 Honda Civic to Grease Monkey for an oil change. The person she dealt with (Meemo ?) provided unnecessary services to the vehicle without explaining the cost to my daughter or getting proper authorization. He had a clipboard with the prices written on it, but at no time prior to the service did he show her or tell her what the service would cost. She thought he was being nice and helpful and he took advantage of her youth and inexperience. My daughter paid for the service at the time because she did not know that she had any other option. I checked with the dealer who had handled all the previous maintenance on this vehicle and confirmed that these services were not needed at this time (transmission flush and power steering flush). I spoke with the manager in an effort to resolve this directly with the company. The manager, Lou Gellner, informed me that they "recommend" services based on the service history at his shop, and since this is the first time the vehicle had been in, they had no history of this work being done previously so they "recommended" the work. Yes, he actually said that. I use quotes because he insisted repeatedly that they did not "sell" anything to my daughter. As a further note, they told my daughter they would replace the air filter for free if she would go purchase one, and they witnessed her calling me asking for permission to spend the money on an air filter. Therefore they were on notice that she was not the decision maker in regards to providing services, and also that since she did not call me to ask permission to have the additional work done, that she was not aware they were going to charge her for it. The person she dealt with went through a list of work that the car needed and assured her that they could "fix it." At no time, until they asked for payment, did they tell her they were charging her for the services and in actuality, since they had changed the air filter for free and they did not mention cost even once, she thought the "fix it" was included in the oil change. I would suggest you take your car elsewhere for service, but if you must go here, be very very careful or you will be ripped off! read more

we just came back from having the oil changed on our 2011 Malibu. they sold my husband synthetic saying the car specs required it. my husband not knowing better went for the sale. when i called them to complain they again said it was a requirement according to manufacturers specs. it isn't per the service manager at Chuck Olson's. we demanded they change the oil again with reg oil and to give us the difference in fee. they refused unless we sign a waiver stating we won't hold them responsible for engine damage and was rude about it. they lie about auto requirements to upsell products. I have gone here for years for my oil change. Before at other places I felt that the staff would try to talk me into things or act like I didn't know what I was talking about. This has never happened at this Grease Monkey and that is the biggest reason I keep going back. I went to this Grease Monkey a few times for oil changes. The last time I went there, they would not accept my coupon. It did not have an expiration date & they didn't explain why they wouldn't accept the coupon. When I refused to pay the full price, they called the police. I had to wait for the police to arrive & explain the situation. I explained to the police that I was willing to pay the coupon price, but Grease Monkey refused that. The police did not charge me with any crime. Now Grease Monkey is threatening to sue me in small claims court. read more

They worked on my car and it took only 10 minutes! They did everything from windows to vacuuming to checking and filling my fluids. I have never received better customer service when dealing with my car. I am a 18 yr old girl who over filled my oil and in panic showed up here only minutes before they closed. They pulled my car back and not only drained my oil but identified where the leak in my car I was adding oil to fix was actually from. They also topped off my other fluids and gave me recommendations of where to take my car to fix my leak. The worker on duty I believe was the manager and his name was Scott, very nice and helpful guy. I am their newest loyal customer and will always be going back. read more

I wanted to have my radiator flushed. I called and spoke to someone and inquired about the service. He told me that it was just a "drain and fill" for $69.99 or for $99.99 I could get better fluid that lasted longer (sounds like BS to me). I hung up the phone and looked at the website and it says that they have a "flush". I called and asked to speak to the manager because I was curious why the website would say one thing and the guy answering the phone would say another. The manager got on the phone and sounded completely confused, IN MY OPINION. He had other issues going on and could not focus on my question...it did not understand it! I simply asked "why does your website say you can perform a radiator flush, but the guy answering the phone said you could not"...He confirmed that they could. I asked why was I told that. He did not understand the question so I asked him if I needed to speak slower. He said I was insulting his intelligence,..which I question whether or not he had any, IN MY OPINION.
