I choose NBC over other places because I can get a simple plain cake reasonably priced and a good portion size. Other locations will charge $3-5 bucks for just a single cupcake or $8-10 bucks for a single slice of cake (if not more). I've tried those too. Many have a beautiful presentation but are not good. But for some reason people do not bake simple anymore. They think every dessert has to have sprinkles or some sort of decor. I pull it off. I don't like decorated treats nor do I eat edible play dough i.e. fondant. It's ok to have those types of desserts but there also needs to be a variety for us simple folks. The guy helping us was so friendly that he gave us extra cookies. EXTRA COOKIES. In this economy?! I walked in expecting to buy cookies and walked out feeling like I had been adopted by a very generous cookie-loving family. The cookies were delicious, the service was amazing, and my only complaint is that now my standards for customer service are unrealistically high. If every business started handing out bonus cookies, society would be a much happier place. 10/10. Will absolutely return the next time I need a sugar rush and a reminder that good people still exist.
