Great home style cooking! We stopped by here looking for some elk burgers, not expecting we'd be given some outstanding food. It's a small, quaint, and cozy cafe. Before ordering we were told it would be about a 30 minute wait, however the food arrived a lot quicker. Expect a bit of wait when you come but keep in mind there is only one cook and I believe one server. The food is definitely worth the wait. I got the buffalo burger and my sister got the elk burger, which she claimed to be the best burger she has ever had. You can get an elk burger prepared with specific toppings such as their huckleberry elk burger or you can customize your own bison, elk, or hamburger. The condiments are stationed at the front of the cafe for your choosing. The burgers were amazing but the soup was phenomenal! One day we got the tomato bisque, the next day we got the loaded potato. It's a new soup everyday and it tastes wonderful homemade. Even better, there's no wait for a bowl of soup. Came during October after the park and this place did not disappoint! the food comes in huge portions and everything was so good! The buffalo burger tasted great and with that you get to choose a side. I got the broccoli salad with it. The crunch of the broccoli was perfect with sauce thee as t wasn't overly creamy. Also got the chef salad - my to go box was completely filled! such huge portions with amazing variety of delicious ingredients within. We ate breakfast here on our way into Glacier National park. The service was great! The people working were friendly. The food was quite tasty and very reasonably priced. Hands down the best burger I've ever had and I've eaten some really great burgers!!! This was a fresh hamburger and it was outstanding! My husband also felt the same way! The burger was juicy and super flavorful. My husband and daughter tried the cheeseburger soup and they loved it! My other daughters had hotdogs that were huge and delicious. My salad came with huckleberry vinaigrette and that was so yummy. I couldn't believe how much we enjoyed the food. The service was great. We spoke with one of the owners for quite some time and my husband went inside to let the chef know just how much we loved the food. We will be back again soon! read more

Welp, guess we are back on the hunt for a new boat day lunch spot. Went in and placed an order pretty similar to our past one with the exception of a second italian this time instead of the Thai sandwich. The women that took the order was very friendly and kind. After I paid and sat down the "chef" told the women that I could not sub roast beef on the kids sandwich. I stated that I did last time and paid extra and he proceeded to tell me no I hadn't and that it wasn't an option. Guess he knew my order history and my kids sandwich preference better then me? So I said to make that one turkey too I guess. My son ate it but wasn't thrilled. The owner walked out (recognized him from their newspaper article announcing opening that originally brought us in) and said to the kind woman "the roast beef cost to much, we don't sub it" but never said a word or acknowledged me standing there. I viewed my receipt later (attached photo) and saw that I was in fact charged for roast beef (and still got turkey), and also charged extra for turkey instead of ham! $1.50 extra to switch ham to turkey, which most kids prefer. So almost $8 for two pieces of white bread, two thin slices of turkey, and two slices of american cheese. Maybe tourists will pay that for their kids sandwiches but I'm not interested in spending my money where they don't value my business and tell me I didn't order something I did Thankfully the beautiful setting I get to enjoy lunch in never lets me down read more

Some of the most flavorful food you can find in Western Montana. The breakfast burrito is so good, and the best I've ever had. Look, this tiny town on the way to Glacier Park does not have much of a labor pool to draw from so you can't expect world class food or anything. That being said, this place is SURPRISINGLY solid. It's basically a little burger joint, but they have options to cater to everyone, and we were all really impressed by the freshness and quality. Prices are not bad at all for a tourist town, either. Ordered take out front his place after a long day of hiking, got a turkey BLT with potato salad, the critter with a house salad and the pimento cheese dip. My better half is Keto and ended up dumping contents of sandwich into salad sans bread. Turkey BLT was good as was potato salad. First time trying bison and I was not disappointed. It's a smaller establishment which doesn't determine much besides the possibility of longer wait time when it's busy. We happily waited 30 minutes and the service was very friendly. Definitely will come back to try the elk next! read more

Everything was fresh and delicious, portions are HUGE, service was friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. Skip the long lines at the park restaurants and have lunch here. Stopped in for a dinner after a long day of hiking. Super friendly staff, simple set up with ordering at counter, drinks at soda machine. It's 5 stars because the food was delicious and all home made. I got the chicken sandwich with the huckleberry compote and it was truly yummy. There isn't much ambiance but eating homemade food at a picnic table in beautiful Montana can't be beat. And, the elk burgers got thumbs up from my family, and our vegetarian was happy with his veggie sandwich. Really appreciate it when restaurants have options for the vegetarians! read more
