So far, I've gone to this location two years in a row. I used to go to the Great Clips location in the Volente Plaza next to the H-E-B on 620. But they've become less good over the years. I have long bushy hair that sometimes I grow out down past my shoulders. And when I go get my haircut, I usually do something very drastic. And I'm not sure why but every time I ask for some drastic haircut for a hairstylist, they get scared and they don't want to do anything too crazy. BUT there is a woman at this great clips location named Denise, and she has done wonderfully on my hair for the past two years. I always go in and ask for a shag, essentially. As you can imagine going from long no volume hair to short above the shoulders hair with tons of layers and side bangs, it's quite the change! But Denise listens and she's always on board to do what I ask and never shys away from the challenge! Happy to have found a stylist who listens :) read more

I only give 2 stars because of the young man, Lucas I believe, had my son happy with his haircut for Christmas. And he was extremely sweet and caring! Some of the other workers are rude! I walked in and the lady at the front just stared at me then asks if I checked in online. No smile, no hello, nothing! Oh but get this, there was a little girl waiting for her dad and that lady was extremely friendly to the little girl and her dad and was offered candy. My son didn't even get a hello or offered a candy as quick as the little girl did. My son had to ask for his candy. My son asked to go back for the guy to cut his hair so I called on 1/3 asking for the man's name. The lady that answered the phone sounded miserable and rude. She answered the questions I had and when I said okay thank you ma'am, she just hung up. As much as my son loved Lucas and my son does not like haircuts, I'm not sure if I'll return with how rude some of the women that work there are. read more

I got the pleasure of receiving the best haircut here at this location by Natali (that was the name on my receipt, I'm horrible with names and am hoping that was hers). She was very attentive to hearing what I EXACTLY wanted done. I have died my hair a lot in the past and am trying to get a healthy length on it again but I was aware I needed to cut a decent amount off. Natali did AMAZING at keeping my length as much as possible while still making it look incredibly healthier! She really put in tremendous dedication to result in exactly what I was looking to accomplish. The area of this Great Clips is also in a nice location, so that environment was quite peaceful. Made online check in at 11:30 am on 10/3/2024 at the 13435 Hwy 183 location, was informed that there was a 33 min wait. At that point it was alright with me. Got message to come in, got there and checked in with the people at the counter, did not catch the mans name. As I am waiting I see that they are doing all the walk ins, with little or no disregard for online check ins. After two people were called before me when I should have been next, I got upset and left. My next appointment is with Supercuts, scheduled for an hour from now. I have been using this location for years, but I think it is wise for me to look for a different place to get my hair cut. If you competitor does it right with me, then I will stick with them. I could not believe when you name is next on the board, then they call someone elses name, and take them in to get their hair done. My Dad came to town to visit with me. He was in need of a quick hair cut, badly. Now, I go a full year, even two before I get a haircut so I definitely had no regular place to take him. LOL I have a friend that works at another location in Houston so I had the app downloaded. I pulled it up, got him checked in, and the process of getting him in the chair was incredibly smooth. I always say hairstylist are like bartenders. They can get anyone to open up to them. I do not remember her name but the woman that handled my fathers hair was amazing. She chatted with him and listened to his concerns about the back of his neck. So much so that she came up with a suggestion to potentially help him out. Took my 5 year old for a hair cut and was verbally assaulted by an employe named Jessica. This all occurred because I wanted to comfort my son by standing next to him as he got his haircut. I have always stood near my son as he got his haircut so he would not move while he got his haircut and not cry. Jessica told me very rudely that I need to stand in the lobby. Since when I asked? Lovely gritty place with experienced down to earth cutters, and that can change depending on the day you come here. For example I came two months ago and there were a whole different group of stylists. You get what you pay for $14 plus tip for a cut as of 11/16. Kids are $11, and $5 shampoos. I always say TIP, TIP, TIP! People hate me because I always have to tip at least 20% because for me, that's part of the way to support artistic amazing people who cut hair!!! i dont normally write bad reviews but i just really didnt appreciate my experience going to this great clips. For 1.when i go to get my haircut i think i should be offered a shampoo/conditioning service and esp if i come in with tangly hair which she didnt spray really any detangler spray to help my tangled hairs-- she just yanked through my tangles. She didnt apologizes for pulling too hard either and im not sure if she got my tangles out when she started cutting. 3. Now i have really wacky uneven layers. 4 she just glared at me the whole time and didnt say much? all in all maybe other great clips offer a better experience! read more

Free haircut! I went in to get my hair chopped off, and apparently it was long enough to donate, which got me a free haircut. Your results may vary. Jamie was ridiculously sweet, helped me out a lot by making suggestions on the cut, which is important for a guy who hasn't had a haircut in over five years and really has no preferences. I wasn't exactly a hard customer...I just had her do a long clipper. But she did suggest trimming my eyebrows, which I had not considered. When I asked her if we should, she answered with an only slightly subdued "YES." She was right. I looked much less Mr Magoo after the eyebrow trim. The place is somewhat easy to miss, but if you just turn right onto Anderson Mill from the NB feeder of 183, you come up right beside it. Our family has gone to the same location for the last 7 years, In the last couple of years he has had 29 haircuts at this location. M youngest son always goes and we request the same haircut #4 or #3 all over. Today he said a #3 all over. We did noticed that the employees were not the usual ones. The hairdresser named "Pablo" which we had never seen, took my son to the back and did his own artistic hair creation a "Punk Hair" design to make my son look just like him, instead of even asking us if we wanted that hair cut. When I saw my son I was in shock, but if I wanted my son to have the same hair cut design as the hairdresser we would have said so. My son could not see what he was doing because he was standing in front of him and could not see himself in the mirror. New employees, new interior design but the worst hairdressers. DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS TO THIS PLACE... unless you want your son to look like the person that cut his hair, and if you want some areas of your face cut by the use of their razor. read more
