I'm so happy at finding this gem but I'm mad at all the money I've wasted at overpriced salons! Listen, I'm very particular about my hair style so it took me some courage to try this place but I am AMAZED at how good a job Joanna did! The hairdresser wasn't chatty but I'd give a pass cuz I'm sick, she prob not trying getting what I got, and I'm late so she prob just want to work and finish the job. When I saw the way she apply the lightener, I felt kinda iffy about it. So I made small talk like how long have she been doing hair, she said 7 n a year at this salon. So I was like ok, she prob know what she doing. I might just be overthinking. Nope I was just watching show on my phone but mindful and ask how she want me to sit, not make life harder. Didnt care to look till the end, the hair look horrible but I paid anyway. $330! I should have refused to pay and asked for over color and pay for that only. So I left, then contact the manager, i told her that it look bad, i want to have color over, only pay for color over all and get refund the rest. She say no refund policy, they have 7 days guaranty, they will fix it. Then we plan out how to fix my hair the next day. So it somewhat fix but it not how I want it. They are so short that they won't even lay down. It's absolutely the worst haircut I have ever received in 52 years. There was only maybe an inch left of them. I don't know any reputable hair stylists that would ever do anything like this. I am. On that she did a good job. I would give the cut 4 stars. I was more impressed with the cut than the highlights. ALL other places I have had my hair colored at have shown color swatches to confirm the color I am describing is what they have. This has been the case no matter the stylist I have seen for color. (Unless it is a repeat appointment, and they remember my color.) Stephanie got right to mixing, with no visual confirmation. Resulting color was more oragne than I would have liked. Color also didn't go all the way to the roots in most places. This made the color immediately look like the hair had alreay grown out for a few weeks. The color I give 2.5 stars. Search her name in the reviews at Salon Beck and you'll see what I mean. She has fixed my hair so many times. On my most recent visit she fixed my hair (yet again)- it had been dyed completely black by a stylist in California. She is an amazing colorist and her cuts are always perfect. I don't have to explain much- just tell her an idea of what I want and leave happy. Highly highly recommend.

I had an appointment today at 9am with Anna at the Regis in Kenwood. All I needed was a retouch of color and flatiron. She got hair dye all over my face. Then her flat iron job was awful. She left my hair frizzy and not done. It was not straight. She left the roots of my hair curly and my hair had fly aways and mad static. I have never had such a horrible job in my life. She is the worst worker ever. I can't even say stylist because she is awful and had no accountability for her work. She acted as if it was great. She took no action to fix it nor did I get an apology. The worst thing is she didn't appoliguze and acted as if she did nothing wrong. That is the worst kind of person to have working for you. The manicure was the worst. The woman cut my nails all lopsided and awkward. The paint job, a french manicure, must have been modeled after a very cheap part of France. They didn't even let us dry out nails before we left, so of course they got messed up. Sadly, the haircut story is worse. After cutting my hair about 2.5 inches shorter than I requested (leaving me looking like a mushroom), the stylist told me she didn't have time to dry or style it (although my appointment was for a cut and style). She was the worst. THE WORST! When I went up front to pay, they still had me pay for a "style" job despite me standing there with dripping hair while my too- busy "stylist" sat texting on her phone. Apparently, they didn't have pricing for "just a cut." I'll drive downtown, east, or north before coming here again.
