The woman who cut my hair, Brooke, has cut my hair a couple of times now, and she does a great job. She dialogues with me to understand exactly what I want to make sure we're on the same page. She was a great conversationalist, but if you'd prefer to be quiet, she seemed open to that as well. She was quick (about 15 min cut total), and it looks great! In this shopping center for the day looking for my shampoo, this location of Great Clips had quite a bit of the brand in stock, although most of it was the new formula (clear bottle). The stylist greeted me and when I found their last bottle of the og formula (dark green bottle) they quickly helped me check out. I used to get my haircut here all the time. They've just changed the cutters too often and I never get the same cut twice and they're always in a hurry. They used to be open till 8 o'clock because my schedule at work is such that I don't get home until almost 7, and now they close at seven what kind of business Cuts hair closes at 7 PM every other great clips in the area closes at eight. This is the only one that closes at 7 PM my last trip through there the stylist, and I'm trying to be kind, didn't seem like she could hold a conversation. I like this place. I give up on paying over $100 for a haircut when this place does a fine job. Actually I like it more. With the AP I can see how long the wait is and check in on line. This is my second time getting my haircut from from yumiko. I wanted something new and I got tired of the same haircuts so the first time I walked in I got yumiko and she asked me how I wanted my haircut? I replied however you want to cut it. The joy and the excitement I was already able to tell that she was going to beat my expectation. She did an amazing job the first time back in March and now I came back for my second haircut and she did not disappoint. She doesn't just do the basic buzz and clip haircut. I took my son to Great Clips for a simple boys cut. The 1st person worked on him for 30 mins and she had a hard time, she than called another lady who tried to fix all the issues for another 10 mins. When the second lady came she noticed that the blade was really hot and used another clipper. My son is really shy so he didn't say anything to the 1st lady. After I left and went into the light I noticed hair left all over the place, so I went back inside and pointed out the issues. My 10 year old was feed up with this whole thing that was only supposed to take 10 or 15 minutes. Once I got home my wife saw the horrible cut and the uneven lines on the sides and the back of my sons head. I wish I could load pictures but I will do that on Yelp. This is unacceptable! I had her once and she screwed everything up, went in again with my son and got her again and she didn't apologize or anything. She was condescending and down right bitchy. I don't understand...what's the point of giving the customer a coupon and finding out later that you can't use it? And the coupon didn't expire yet. You have confusing stylists who say that their manager no longer accepts coupons (that you guys generate by the way) only to find out AFTER the hair cut that they no longer accepts those coupons. Trickery..deceit..fraud to the highest level. And let me guess...you're going to correct this by apologizing on Yelp? Yah...that doesn't correct anything! I'm writing this review on behalf of my husband & my son's recent experience. After my husband had just written a 5 star review for Sherrie a few weeks ago; I am now on here having to write a negative review for Tara. Tonight my husband and son went in to try to get their haircuts from Sherrie but learned that unfortunately, she was not there tonight- no biggie. They thought they might try someone new from the Great Clips staff instead but quickly changed their minds. From the moment they walked in, my husband said Tara was extremely rude! Her body language and her tone made him feel like they were not wanted and were a burden. She sat with her scheduled 8:40pm client, then rolled her eyes and made a comment to her saying, "wow looks like I'm going to be here past 9:30pm" She also made another comment to the client saying, "I didn't know kids stayed up this late." Now, what Tara does not know is that our child has special needs and has extreme sensory challenges with clippers. When we take him to get his haircut he will often scream and cry and we get A LOT of looks. To avoid this we try to take him in later in the evening when there are less people, which is why we loved finding Great Clips because they stay open late. I do not appreciate Tara making any comments about my son and his bedtime to other people and I surely don't appreciate the lack of customer service and making my family feel like they couldn't stay. My husband and I work in retail/customer service and no matter what the client looks like or what time they come in, ALL clients should feel welcomed and the establishment should feel THANKFUL that the client chose their business versus any other. My poor mother went here yesterday and someone CHOPPED her hair all up. She has long hair with bangs and she asked that her bangs blend into the sides but someone gave her a mullet.. the entire front portion of her hair is chopped short. She is devastated. I told her to go back to have someone fix it but she is so embarrassed she doesn't want to leave the house!!! You need to make sure your stylists can actually cut hair before employing them. I moved to this area from the South Bay. I've been going to Great Clips for years, I figure I try this one since it's close to my house. Since April of 2019, I've had 8 different stylists cut my hair, 7X my hair has been screwed up. I figured I'd give every stylist a shot to cut my hair like I wanted.... nope, can't understand why, last great clips in San Jose, every stylist cut my hair good. I would have given 0 stars. We got a coupon for a haircut and decided to use it today. We called ahead from our parking spot in front of the store to check in and was told there was no wait just come in. My son and husband went in literally 30sec after we hung up the phone, just to be told they have 3 ahead of them? Then they said okay and sat down just to have 2 more pop up ahead them on the check in screen. There is reason they have to bribe you with coupons to come in! My advice is to throw it away. Pay more than $8.00 to get better service and haircut. Staff gave zero effort to accommodate them "the machine said he is next sorry,not sorry". 100pm 10/14/17 update Just got a response back from great clips -see below. Wish I could remember the names of the two stylists who helped me with my haircut because they both did great! I came in a couple weeks ago and got a haircut before my vacation because it was getting unruly and long. The 1st stylist did exactly what I asked and it felt great. The only problem was when I went home I also shaved off my beard, and that made my hair cut look funky. So the next day I went back and the same stylist was working, but on someone else and so stylist #2 sat me down and trimmed a bit more of the top. I thanked both of them as they didn't charge me to trim it ans I thought that was great. Fast forward to yesterday, when I opened a letter from Great Clips thanking me for the haircut and apologizing - they even included a free cut. Just moved to the area from LA, where I had been going to the same stylist for many years. My hair was getting shaggy, so I gave in and stopped at this Great Clips one night, just hoping they wouldn't screw it up too bad. Wow, was I ever surprised! First, this place is clean. Second, the staff is extremely friendly--they greet you when you come in and check you in even if they're in the middle of a cut. Third, Theresa was terrific. SHE had cute hair, which is always a good sign. And she didn't disappoint. Throughout my cut, she was pleasant to chat with and extremely responsive to my requests. My hair looks great! Okay so I just got my hair cut by Kelli. She was the nicest, funniest woman! She made me super comfortable. I was a little nervous to get such an edgy cut for the first time but I instantly felt relaxed and like I could trust her. Jessica was going to cut my hair but wanted Kelli to do it because she thought she could do the cut more justice, which I really appreciate because lots of people will just go ahead with the cut because of their ego. She knew I would get the best results from Kelli(because it was a more complicated cut) and I thought it was really cool of her to put me first. Kelli listened to everything I said I wanted and took time to look at the pictures of showed her. She told me what she was going to do before she did it to make sure I was okay with it. She left me with uneven bangs - short in the middle, and different lengths on each side. She also cut way to much on each side. I am a breast cancer surivor, part of my journey will include chemotherapy. Last night (August 19) I got the nerve to cut my medium hair cut real short . I walked in and put my name down for a haircut. I really like Rachael her spunk and pride in the haircut before me is just what I was looking for. As I sat down I was nervous I have never had short hair. Rachael had me chatting and laughing while she was cutting my hair. She even placed some of my hair in a bag for me. Came in on veterans day to get a free haircut card to use the following weekend. Unfortunately for me the asian lady working the register did not understand their policy and stated that I had to pay for a haircut that day to get the free card. I told her that I didnt need a haircut that day and that I had my ID with me but she just smiled and said no can do. I generally dont like to argue with people in the service industry because the more you piss them off the worse your service will be, and I was not 100% sure who was right. When I got home I checked their website and I found out that I could in fact get the card, so I called a couple of Great clips in the area and they all confirmed that I could get a card to use until Dec 31. I even called this place and a girl told me that I was right and that there must have been some misunderstanding. My son hair look like it was cut with dull hand shears. Now he has hair just sticking up in areas. Just say you can't cut black boys hair. Now he has to cut it all the way low smh. I aught him etiquette so he will always too...but in this case the barber need to pay for his next haircut.
