I don't know her name but I asked the lady to just clean up my fly always and she buzzed off.... the back.... of my head. my hair literally looks disgusting and uneven now. She then said "sorry it looks bad I don't know what else I can do" I feel like this place just hires anyone. It is horrible. Never go here.. Went here for years only because of decent prices. However, like many things in life " There is no free lunch". The disparity between the barbers skills is huge. I cannot stress that enough. Every so often get a decent cut. I put up with the inconsistency just to save $. No more. Last cut was the worst cut of my 66 yo life. Complete hatchet job. No style, no layering, long here, short there. I am a flexible guy and usually when i get a not so good haircut I just tell myself " it is just a haircut, there r bigger problem in life." BUT-this cut was so bad that I cannot give excuses anymore. After 10 years I will not be returning. So in conclusion--a couple barbers r actually pretty good but most are very young, recent grads from the "school" in clifton, immature and learning on you. read more

For layers my head was turned upside down, pulled into a pony tail to be cut and came out too short and very choppy looking...not good! If you are looking for a trim, this could be the place, but not for a style... probably better for kids/guys. I would not come back as a woman who's looking for a salon experience. This place is like supercuts. The owner was very nice. I also went in for the 2.99 grand opening hair cut deal and walked out paying $50 because of my hair length. The name should be changed to "Bad Clips" Oh My God, Where do I start. I knew right away that it was bad when there we only girls there. But hey I'm all for the feminist thing. So, I told her to give my son a fade. Simple enough right. NOOO. I come back and it looks like they passed the three on the top and the two on the bottom - unevenly may I add. No cleaning up around the edges, no fading in between the size change, not even a tape up. And his face was all full of hair, I mean at least clean him up. Suddenly, I lost my sense of cristianity and I burned inside. We were on our way to a party. the Haircut was $14(same as every where else) for something I could have done better at home. When I complained, they put him on with another girl who fixed and cleaned up the cut. She did a much better job. But only after the first girl had already butchered the hair, so it ended up being much shorted than we originally wanted. Now I have to take him to a real barbershop to get his cut and pay all over again. I wish they would just be honest and say "I do not know how to do a fade, or a tape up or a shape up or clean the edges" instead of "Ok, I got it" when they don't. I wish I could have found my phone but I was too frustrated. I would have posted the picture. This place is only good for guys with longer straighter hair. Where they can cut your hair with scissors and do the girly thing. If you need a shape up or fade or anything else for that matter, do not go there. You have been warned. We needed a quick & cheap haircut place for our nanny and this fit the bill. I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews, the place seemed reasonable to me. It's $14 for a regular haircut - $11 for kids and seniors. There was about a 30 minute wait for a Sunday afternoon walk-in. I had been going here for a while with a certain stylist ( when I find someone that cuts my hair well, I stick with them) So one day I needed a haircut . I called Great Clips during the day from work and they said that my stylist would be working today from 3 to 9. Fine. After work, I traveled to this place ( I'm not exactly around the corner from there) and after sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic, get there and a very apathetic young woman tells me my stylist was not there! I said I called today and someone said she'd be here from 3 to 9. Again she said she's not here. I said "well, where is she?" upon which I got one of those "I really don't care" looks. I've been in here twice (both times because I was heading back to school and needed a quick cut) and both times they've butchered my hair. The first time, the girl cut so high up around my ears, I walked out looking ridiculous. I gave them a second chance because I figured that maybe I just got their worst stylist the first time I went in. Wrong. I got a different lady and she chopped way too much off the front, and my sideburns were uneven by a half an inch. I feel like this place only hires beauty school dropouts. Truly amateur cuts. I had a grocery receipt coupon so I came over to this location. I had used the Allendale Great Clips previously until I could no longer stand their #1 stylist. The don't give a crap attitude I had enough of. Tried this one and sorry, no better here. I had explained I wanted a scissor cut and general trim on the style I already have. I removed my glasses and she was cutting away until I realized she was using thinning shears on my hair. I questioned that and she said just a little bit although she had done both sides and back of my head with it. I stated that I told her it was supposed to be a scissor cut to which she replied "yeah, yeah, sure, sure". I asked her to stop and just do my neck and I left. Needed to get a haircut and this was the closest place. Asked for a Crewcut hairstyle and the hairstylist and she took no time to do it they just used the buzzer and did it in literally 1 min. They made no effort to make it look good. After they were done they gave a ridiculous price for a 1 minute haircut. I said it was too expensive and they got angry.. The stylist, Joi, was extremely unfriendly and rude. Checking in on line does not work. Wait time was supposed to be 8 minutes and was 45 minutes instead! But it wasn't the long wait that bothered me but the fact that she didn't mention how backed up they were when we first arrived. I tried to explain how I wanted my child's haircut and she didn't do a good job. Again, she could have asked me, if she didn't understand what I wanted. When I mentioned something to her she practically yelled at me and told me she had followed my directions when she clearly didn't. Overall, the experience here at this place has been bad every time, but this time was the the worst. The place is convenient and reasonable, but the aggravation is not worth it. I would recommend Sports Clips in Oakland instead. read more

If you find the right hairdresser, this place is great. But of course that takes some trial and error. My husband and mom both have go-to hairdressers they use exclusively here and have consistently great cuts. I think my husband had haircuts by three different stylists here before he found the one he preferred. After one of the other cuts was really uneven and too short, he started only going in when he knew his preferred hairdresser was available. I have long hair and think this place is ok for a trim. read more

I went to this place twice for myself and once with the two children I babysit for. The first time I went, my hair cut was okay. The stylist was friendly and undstood what I wanted. All I wanted was a trim to take off the split ends, following the layers and framing I already had. The hairstylist did not cut off as much as I had asked for, so a month later, I went back. The hair stylist I had the second time was terrible. I asked once again, if she could remove The bottom and split ends. I told her to remove an inch or two until they were gone. This girl was very quiet and made no effort to converse with me, which I found was weird and annoying. The girl seemed to have no experience. She trimmed the very bottoms, maybe a centimeter, ruined the layers, left my hair uneven... It's absolutely terrible. I wasnt looking for anything fancy or difficult, just a basic trim. You get what you pay for and this place is terrible. Don't waste your time and money. Stick with super cuts instead. They are a little more expensive but their stylists are so much better read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I have tried going here 2 times and each time they butchered my hair!! A few days ago I went in and showed Norma the picture of the hair cut I wanted. A simple shoulder length cut. When she was done, I looked like a little Dutch boy!!!! My hair was bluntly chopped and uneven. Today, 2 days after being butchered I went to a salon. It cost A LOT MORE but they fixed my hair cut and I at least look like a woman and not a Dutch boy. Honestly, I don't know what the people at great clips are thinking!!! IF YOU HAVE MONTHS to grow your hair back out OR TIME AND MORE MONEY to get your hair fixed then Great clips is for you. She was very friendly, listened to what I wanted, discussed the cut and executed it perfectly. On my next visit I had a different stylist whose name I can't remember. She also did a terrific job.
