ZERO STARS! recently moved to Manteca. my son and fiancé usually get their haircuts at great clips. Heck to the no will this place be their usual hair spot here in Manteca. It's like they don't know how to cut hair! i honestly wanted to cry when she cut my son's hair. I know hair grows, but I wanted him to look fresh on his first day of school. and my fiancé will be late for work tomorrow because he doesn't want to come in with an ugly hair cut. so he will go some place else to fix their mistake. don't go here unless you want a tacky uneven that's-not-even-how-you-fade-hair type of hair cut. read more

Really bad customer service. I went in 20 mins before they close the Asian older lady was really nice and did her job right I was the other hair stylists that really made me give them 1 star. So while I was getting my hair cut I could clearly hear the snobby group of lady's in the back talking about how ugly and and stupid some of their are and also they were saying how even if they like greeting customer as they arrived but they have to .... We just moved to Manteca from Livermore 2 weeks ago. We usually took our 2 young sons to Livermore Great Clips and received good service, so we figured we'd stick with Great Clips in Manteca too. Our 4 year old son decided he wanted a cool haircut for the summer and asked for a Mohawk this time rather than his usual. We walked in and were greeted by a younger guy. He never really made actual eye contact with us and seemed kinda timid, didn't talk much, but he was available immediately to cut my son's hair, so we got our son in the chair and told him our son wanted a Mohawk this time. To us, this request sounded simple enough... How hard can a Mohawk be, right? You're just basically cutting all the hair off and leaving a straight line down the middle of one's head... The guy cutting his hair did ask us to clarify if we wanted a "fohawk" or a "Mohawk" and we made it pretty clear we wanted a simple Mohawk.... The guy got started and we did notice that our son's hair was starting to resemble what a hyena's hair looks like.. Or a baby lion.... It was looking like a strange, complicated undercut mohawk... Which isn't what we asked for... My husband asked him about it at one point and the guy said he was "going to fade it up and blend it"... Ok..... My husband stepped out for about 5 minutes and the guy called me over to my son and asked me how I liked it... I was VERY confused because my son still had a complete flattop up front, I'm talking hair from temple to temple and then his hair slowly tapered in the back of his skull to a "v" shape... As I was examining the poor job, I could feel another female employee glaring at me while standing next to me, which made me super uncomfortable!... Was this really that difficult a request?? Are we crazy?? Lol... My husband came back in and I asked him to please help the guy understand.... The guy cutting the hair even had the nerve to say "well, he likes it" referring to my son when was talking back to my husband after being flat out told AGAIN that all we wanted was a SIMPLE Mohawk... I have no idea where the misunderstanding happened..... The guy finally finished my son's hair and honestly, in the end, after he styled it, it looked cute enough. It was definitively more of a Chuck Liddell style Mohawk than the standard Mohawk we asked for.... But we paid, left a $5 tip and left. After we bathed our son (to get ALL THE HAIR THAT WAS LEFT ALL OVER HIM off) we noticed the haircut was completely crooked and the length was uneven all over. We were told when we left Great Clips that we had 8 days to return if we were unhappy with it. My husband took our son back today to have it fixed. They were greeted by the same guy who cut his hair yesterday but my husband asked for someone else. This time my husband says he got a female and that she treated them like garbage. I'm assuming this was due to the annoyance of him returning to have the hair cut fixed. Unacceptable. We were not being difficult and this was not OUR fault. Our request was clear and simple from the get go, my husband should not have been treated like crap today for rerunning to have a crappy haircut fixed on my 4 year old son. You don't like customers to return to have mistakes fixed? Don't offer that service. Say all sales are final. Mohawk too complicated of a hair cut? Simply say you don't do Mohawks next time a customer asks for one! read more

Left for a road trip today without trimming my goatee. Stopped here hoping they could trim it up and I can honestly say that was the best $5 I ever spent. I regrettably didn't get the stylists name, but she was great. Trimmed my goatee (wife is very happy now), straightened my sideburns, trimmed my mustache back, and cleaned up loose ends around my entire hairline. I'm not a regular Great Clips client but I would certainly recommend them after my visit today. read more

We normally go here for haircuts when I don't feel like cutting my husbands and sons hair but after today I'm so upset over the stylist who cut my sons hair. The fade was in the middle of his head and had a lone all the way around. When she began to take off his cape I stepped up and said his fade is too low can you higher it and there is a line around his head. She replied by saying I don't see anything but I mean yeah if you really want me to try to go over it I guess I can. No I want you to fix it not try and I don't want you to tell me that there is nothing wrong! I don't want to pay for a haircut to have to go home and redo it myself anyway. I gave 3 stars because the stylist that did my husbands hair did a good job. However I'm just upset I paid for something that I need to redo on my own now. read more

I have been coming to great clips for the last year since I moved from the bay area. The staff is always supportive and attentive to my needs. I often go to Zak and he has been amazing. He does a great job in making sure I walk out feeling and looking my best. He also makes sure I know of any existing promotions to save me some money. read more

I took my son in and the gal messed up his hair so bad he now has to go to school looking like a fuzzy bowling ball until next Saturday when we can get it fixed. I have been going to Great Clips loyally for about seven years. I always have a nice time, and my hair cuts are always spot on. Why one star? Because I recently ran into some very poor customer service from a rude manager. I decided to download the check-in app to make getting in as easy as possible. The app asked for number of "guests" I responded "1" because my boyfriend wanted a haircut as well. When I showed up to the salon about a half hour later I was literally BERATED, in front of the packed salon about not using the app properly. The young girl that was trying to help me was pretty embarassed as the older manager/stylist talked over her shoulder at me. I told them I would not bother with my haircut and left for Fantastic Sams. I enjoy Great Clips as a whole, but I would not reccomend dealing with the unpleasant store manager there, just not worth the money. read more

This place has a cool check-in system when you come to get a hair cut. They are open later than some other establishments and their energy is high. This can be good or bad based on your personality. Super friendly but if you are not one who likes to talk a lot then the enthusiasm may get to you. I will be here again! read more

Went in for a my usual hair cut thought they did a good job. Went home and took a shower and they pretty much gave me a side cut. Didn't even touch my bangs when i asked for them to be cut since there in my eyes when i work. Tried to give me a different hairstyle when I only wanted my hair minimized with the same hair style I came in with. Shitty place. Never going back after I get it fixed. Had the most heart warming experience yesterday when I took my son literally, directly from Supercuts. We had literally just experienced a very traumatic cut with Sarah from Supercuts on main down the street (see Supercuts Yelp review) and needed someone who was amazing with children to be able to work with my son and correct the horrible cut that she did. A young woman with purple hair and glasses (Receipt says "Jess") worked with my son, talked to him in a non threatening kid friendly manner, and was able to texturize the damage to help it blend better. My little boy who has two professional Christmas picture appointments tomorrow will now be ready because of her and she did it all at no charge. You can't tell me that it was my son's behavior why he wasn't cooperating at Supercuts because he's never been afraid of getting his haircut and when not even 10 minutes later he was sitting up straight and perfectly frozen like Elsa's ice at Great Clips. The way in which you talk to your children clients makes a HUGE difference! Thank You We're definitely switching to Great Clips now! read more

The first time I went in there is was very busy, however the young lady named Jenny cut my daughters hair and convenience my son to get a hair cut too. She was awesome and did a great job. I had a coupon so yesterday we went back to get a cut for my daughter, this time the person who cut her hair was Lindsey. My daughter is a bit shy but knows what she wants. So she showed Lindsey some pics and the whole time Lindsey was talking my daughter out of it and being very rude and snobby. My daughter being the shy person she is did not say anything to Lindsay. Lindsey even went as far as saying to my 14 yr old you don't want this haircut, the girl in the picture has it cause she is a celebrity and can afford a cut every couple of weeks. Well wow, didn't relize that I am poor and unable to give my daughter a cut every few weeks. Anyhow we went back and Lindsay did fix some of it, but made my daughter very uncomfortable. I would recommend any of those sweet girls there, but if you like getting treated bad then use LINDSEY! she has horrible customer service. We will go back but to have Jenny cut our kids hair. read more
