I was looking for a place to take my grandson that had kid cars. I seen that they had the lighting McQueen car so I went there first thing in the morning. I was greeted when we walked in and confirmed they had the car. Once they called us I was told my grandson was too big for the car so I was a little bummed out since he is terrified of haircuts and I was worried he was going to freak out. I decided to give the chair a try once Ana told me it would be okay. For starters she was very friendly and welcoming. My grandson walked towards her once she started talking to him, I backed off and let her take over the situation. She was amazing! She gave him stickers and put on a show for him and also gave him some stickers before she even started cutting his hair. He did great! I am so glad I found this place. Searched high and low for a kid friendly hair salon, I was even debating on driving to the bay to find one, but was recommended to take them here. Went in and luckily there was no wait! Diana took them both and they got to sit in the cute lightning mcqueen car! Turned on their TV and let my oldest play with their toys while the other was getting his cut. And that's without a tip. I tipped her a $5 in cash. Every time we go in they raise the price by $2. So the second to last time it was $24. The time before that $22. They do an OK job, but I'm sorry. $26 to get my 4 year old's hair cut is totally overpriced. Went in on a weekday around 12:30ish not busy PERFECT for taking little ones in!!! My son is 2 1/2 years old nonverbal and autistic. He has had about 3 haircuts prior. Diana did a amazing job and making us feel comfortable and was able to make my son feel at ease he found the comb interesting so she brought out a extra comb for him to explore, there was a little whining but I expected it. Tina completely messed up beyond repair. As normal barbers/hair dressers start on the sides before cutting the top, this lady started on the top with a 1 and then asked me "is that too short?" My instant thought and response was "well there's nothing that can be done about it anyways since the top was already cut." Normal hair dressers/barbers that we have do my sons hair cut the sides first and then ask for further direction on cutting the top. Including other ladies at this location. Tina was the first to EVER cut hair like this when the haircut is not a complete buzz cut. We told her we wanted it longer on the top. Then, she proceeded to tell my fiancé that she told me a 1 was short. First off, she never said anything about the length. And no shit a 1 is short. I was encouraged by a friend to try this place for a haircut and beard trim. I called ahead to book an appointment and was told they only take walk-ins. Since they close at 6pm, I was told to be there by 5:30pm and they would take me in. I drove across town and arrived around 5:10 and was told they couldn't take anyone else even though they had 3 male customers and 3 hair stylists. I understand keeping regular hours, but 1. Can't you cut 4 guys hair with 3 stylists in 50 minutes? 2. Please don't tell people to come by a certain time and then don't honor their service request. You should maybe rethink how you communicate to customers about service availability. Good communication is the key to managing expectations and would have helped tremendously in this case. read more
