When a stylist says "I've been doing hair for over 30 years, I know what I'm doing" as you're describing the type of cut you want: get up and leave. They are not vested in your results, only their ego. She didn't even come CLOSE to my very clearly requested style (with video!) A weight line at the top of the ear is NOT a fade! The problem with stylists who do this kind of "commando" style is ONE wrong cut on one side and you're stuck, you can't leave, you have to even the results on the other side. I deeply, deeply regret trusting her. My head is literally shaved and not at ALL what I asked for. read more

Do not go here if you're a woman. I used to go here all the time as I'm not too picky. I've never had a hair cut take 3 minutes! My kids could have done the same thing this woman did for free. Literally just cut around the bottom and said good? I mentioned I wanted it shorter and her response was well it's better than it was. No, it's now uneven and the way you cut it the end's feel very rough!! Absolutely worst experience. read more

I wish I could say something nice, but this experience left me frustrated... I used their online waitlist which prompted me that I would have to wait over 1.5 hours. Okay fine, I don't mind waiting. I left for my haircut once I got the 15 minute reminder text. When I show up, the door is locked and I notice a piece of paper on the door that says that they'll be closing at 4pm today instead of 6pm (I got there around 3:50). I knock on the door to get the attention of the woman inside who just shrugs and says they're closed before going back to whatever she was doing. Now, I understand if I was just showing up minutes to closing time on an average day I would have no reason to be upset. But I signed up online. I wasn't notified that they'd be closing at 4. I left them my phone number to contact me with. If they were professional they should have looked on the waitlist to see who signed up and messaged them. Or better yet, close the waitlist. Anything would have been better than having to drive in the cold winter rain just to get shrugged off. read more

This business closes in the middle of the day and I was always curious why, today my stylist told me that she doesn't know and doesn't care because she makes more money in her online business and only works a couple days a month. Somebody walked in, there was no wait, and she told them they're not taking walk-ins because she is leaving when she is done with me. This is at 1:30 PM on a Tuesday. What a joke. There are many options better than this one. I questioned her as to why they close the middle of the day. She said, hey it's a $20 haircut, you get what you pay for. Wow! read more

I went to the Sherwood Oregon location for Great Clips. I had not had a hair cut for a year (cut it myself) due to Covid. So, I took in a picture of what my hair `should look like' and presented it to Donna. She took extra time to get my hair back to what it should look like. And, did an amazing job. Love this place for my kids and hubby! They keep notes of what they do during the haircut and it helps greatly! Andrea does an amazing job and my daughter loves her. She recommends great products too and does not "upsell" us anything that is not needed. We can also use the Bowmen card for a discount, which is wonderful and helps us save money! I've been here a few times and every time they get my cut done exactly as I wanted, even if I don't do such a good job explaining it. They can look at a picture and know exactly how to make it work for me. I recently took my son here and they did a fantastic job with his cut, and were very friendly and kind. I live nearby but even if I didn't I would still keep coming to this location :) read more

Do you want to look like a bald chicken? Do you want to live the #singleLife? Do you want to get rid of all the mirrors you own? Do you want a rude stylist that has no regard to your desires? If you answer a resounding yes to any of these, then I highly recommend Great Clips - Sherwood. I have visited this location a few times and every time I leave with regret, having spent 30 mins in horror. My past stylist completely ignored everything I asked for, insisting that they know my interests more than I do. When I said, "No I don't want that", she responded, "I don't care. I think it'll look better". To prove her point, she buzzed a patched out of my long, scissor cut hair. Then said, "whoops, gotta finish the rest this short now." I will never return to Great Clips, let alone the Sherwood location. Don't make my mistake. It's not fair to you nor those that have to look at you for the next few months. I beg you to go somewhere else. Visit someone who didn't barely pass cosmetology school on the third attempt. Visit someone who'll do it right and will above all listen to the guest. read more

Walked in and two unoccupied hairdressers were there and helped the man in front of my son. Then 2 families walked in after my son signed in. They called up one of the other ppl that walked in later. My son waited patiently until they finished hoping he would be next. Instead they call the daughter of the lady that took my sons place. My son asked the lady how much longer and they said 25 min more. My son mentioned he was there prior to the lady they just cut there hair. And she didn't know what to say. So my son just said he would get his haircut elsewhere. She said it was fine. Who's running this business? Very Unprofessional employees will never come here again! They deserve zero stars. I went here a while back to donate my hair, I asked for the minimum which was 8 inches and the lady cut off 12 and didn't clean up the cut after chopping off the ponytails. I had to go get it fixed because of how horrible it was. I've had good experiences in the past but this was just not good. read more

Very poor service and environment! Took my nephew in for a haircut and they stood around talking to each other for 10 min without even acknowledging us as clients. When I asked for a haircut they said no barbers were available! Ended up at Champions barbershop in Beaverton, much better service and the did an amazing job! read more

I went there today and showed the stylist(if that 's what she was) a picture of what I wanted and also explained exactly how I like it. she proceeded to get out the clippers and cut my hair. I had taken off my glasses and most of what she screwed up was in the back so I just assumed she was doing what I asked. I am a retired stylist so I had cut the top and sides of my hair already and just wanted her to shorten the back and blend it all in. I told her I didn't want the hairline showing. Well, she buzzed the back half way up and the kind of wedged the rest. She did a horrible job and my hair looks like hell. I will never come here again and I will tell everyone I know what a horrible place this is. read more

The only reason I am giving them any stars is because of their friendliness. We have gone to 3 different locations in 3 cities, Sherwood, Tigard, and Canby and the results were the same at each location. It is like these people have no idea what they are doing. Did they hire them off the street. I asked for a short boys hair cut and they barely took anything off, I asked for an A- line hair cut for my daughter and 2 inches off, she may have taken an inches off, I asked for a layered bob and about 3 inches off of my own hair. I got the inches and some sort of a layer, but no Bob. We are on ssi and cannot afford haircuts so when we get them done they need to be done correctly or we get stuck paying someone else for the hack job. read more

My daughter got a bad cut from the manager Erica Wickham tonight. When I told her she was unhappy and that it looked like some just cut a hunk out on one side, her response was "She said she wanted layers." I got my haircut by another stylist and while I was in the chair the manager Erica would glare at my daughter as she walked by making her cry harder. Not once did she ask how she could help, or fix it. We ended up going to Wilsonville where they took that bad haircut and made it better. They spoke and listened to my daughter and I am very grateful. I will never go back to Sherwood Great Clips again even though my own cut was great. The way the manager of the store treated my daughter was very dissapointing. read more

When the woman that cuts my hair tells me how much she hates kids and then wrenches my head around to simulate how she treats the "little fuckers", I should have ran. Don't let the old woman cut your kids hair unless you want them to be missing an ear when they're done. Never going back. read more

Had to take my haircut "back" last week after my wife laughed at me for looking like Dumb and Dumber with a bowl cut. The place has always kind of been like a box of chocolates--never know what you're gonna get. After having to go to work like that, I stopped in after and Jane spent awhile on me and fixed it under their satisfaction guarantee. Then, I found out looking at my credit card statement that the first stylist took a bigger tip than I'd given on the haircut I had to take back. Didn't get to speak to management when I called about it, but was offered $2 off my next cut or to come in for two out of his pocket. Keep it. I won't be back. read more

I tried this salon a few years ago and was unhappy with the cut and service. Well I thought I might try them again since my regular salon closed. Bad choice. I checked in online and it said there would be a 15 minute wait. I arrived a few minutes early to find 3 people waiting for 1 hair stylist. I was informed by the woman that spoke broken English with a Russian accent that it would be a 35 minute wait. There are at least 10 booths in this salon and 1 stylist. Come on people. There is no customer service there. The lady seem pleased that I canceled my appointment and left. I think the only way this salon has customers is because of first timers. There are a few happy one's that go back but i'm not one of them. Boo! read more

Haven't been to this specific Great Clips in a long while because I've been working to grow may hair into a new style. But today was the day to finally get in for the new style. I did the online check-in, which I really do appreciate, and when I walked in, the two stylists were totally new to me - I'd never seen either of them before. I have experienced a big turnover in salons like Great Clips, so I wasn't too surprised, but probably a little nervous as to how well they knew their "craft". Kelley called me up and I thought, "will she really know what I'm wanting?" I told her I'd been growing my hair out to achieve an under-cut bob style and felt it was finally long enough for it. She agreed with me and when we'd confirmed how short to go with the haircut, she went to work. For the first part of it, she was more quite, but once we both got "comfortable" with each other, I believe we enjoyed our conversation - at least I know I did! Kelley knows her stuff!! She not only gave me a wonderful under-cut bob, but she carefully trimmed some of the shorter ends of hair that were still growing out from my previous layered style. She was careful, took her time, and made sure I was happy with it. Thank you, Kelley for a terrific haircut!! I'm very happy and thankful to have sat in your chair. read more

Have been a satisfied customer of Great Clips for a number of years. This was my first visit to the Sherwood location. Worst haircut of my adult life. Arrived at the time assigned when I checked in online. Waited nearly 30 minutes. Haircut took an hour. The stylist was clearly inexperienced. Nice and friendly, but.... He used the incorrect clipper length; cutting my thinning har far too short. When he had trouble and sought out the advice of another stylist for help she took the guard off the trimmer and dug in even deeper before I could protest and then said something to the effect that it didn't matter. Another reviewer said something like "plucked chicken look." That's what I got. Going to get sunburn where I've never had it before. Avoid this location!!! read more

moved here from PA. and went in for a short cut. I grow my hairout to get a new style. I showed JANE a picture of what i wanted,and even told her. She said yes no problem. It was a nightmare. She had totally never looked at the picture nor listen to what i saiSo i ended up getting butched. She does all she choose to do.that is a shape up. What I needed was a razer cut. Do not sit in her chair for and type of cut. Another lady was before me and asked for the same thing as i did. She just did a shape up and said look how wonderful it looks. What the funny thing was i met the same lady at the tualatin store getting her haircut recut also. My hair was cut in so many different langest they could not believe it. Online checkin is a joke. Checked in at approximately 12:40pm today (Friday) and it said 18 minute wait. I arrived within 15 minutes and was told that it would be "just a few minutes" for my turn. It is now 1:15pm and I am still waiting and there are 2 people still on the list before me. Will not visit here in the future. read more

I went in the other day and got a hair cut.... I lost over 5 inches of hair I didn't want to lose and she literally just cut straight across. It looks butchered.
