I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this Great Clips location. I chose to walk in rather than check in online. When I arrived, Kim asked whether I had made an appointment online. I said no and explained that I preferred not to do it online. She then put my name down and told me the wait would be about 40 minutes. What Kim did not do was ask the most basic question: What service are you here for? I left, came back after 40 minutes, and ultimately waited closer to 50. When a different employee finally called me, I explained that I wanted my hair washed and cut. She told me that a shampoo was not listed and that their sink was not working, so they could not wash my hair. That was incredibly frustrating. Of course it wasn't listed Kim never asked me what I wanted done. If Kim had simply asked, "What service would you like today?" I would have said shampoo and haircut, and she could have immediately told me the sink was out of service. I then could have made an informed decision about whether to stay or go somewhere else instead of wasting nearly an hour. Equipment breaks. I understand that. What I do not understand is checking in a walk-in customer without asking what service she is there to receive. This was not a complicated request, and the problem could have been avoided with one simple question and basic customer service. Very disappointing. I wish i could give 0 stars read more

This Great Cuts is located on Hawthorne Blvd in the same plaza as T-Mobile, FedEx Store, Amazon Fresh, and others. Lots of parking on a Wednesday afternoon. Shout out to Mona! She did a great (their namesake!) job cutting my hair. I was wayy overdue for a cut. The usual place that I get my haircuts was understaffed and had too long of a wait for walk ins. I was in this part of Torrance and was here as a walk in with only about a 10 minute wait. For future, I would check in on their website or app. Mona did what I wanted to do, a 2 inch cut with layers. We had a little bit of small talk and I am glad she did not try to sell me hair products or try to upsell anything. Overall a very pleasant and I like my cut. 4 stars. read more

I only see Jennifer for my pixie cut. She really knows her stuff and keeps me looking sharp for a good 5 weeks. She is great, always personable making my visit with her so enjoyable. Do not come here! And if you do, do not let the long blonde hair lady with super long nails cut your hair. I had hair down to my rear, told her to not lose length, just trim the lawyers I already had and add curtain bangs face framing. She hacked my hair off. Bone dry, kept gouging me with a comb and ruined my hair. Now to fix it I have to go completely shoulder length losing 10+ inches of hair I've grown out. Even before I sat down, I could tell things were going to go poorly. The stylist barely acknowledged me and rushed through confirming what I had gotten previously. Before I could answer, she was already ordering me to sit down. She then did a rushed two-minute haircut while chatting nonstop in Spanish with a coworker. When I politely asked for a quick touch-up at the front, she became defensive and started arguing with me, insisting she had done it right. She made excuse after excuse to avoid fixing it properly, and it was clear she just didn't want to put in the effort. Horrible experience last Tuesday 11/18/25. Hispanic lady with blonde hair speaking loudly to 2 other coworkers, not paying much attention to me while cutting my hair. Took her 7-8 minutes, others take 15-20 minutes for my hair. Got home, sure enough, very bad cut. Not style, but messy around my ears, had to have wife clean it up. I've been going there for about a year and they are all decent cuts. But first really bad experience. I don't think she's qualified. Scary! read more

Service here was amazing!!! Was taken in real quick, they do also cut women's hair! Which we love!!! I only needed a trim, since I only cut my hair every few years; and my stylist Naomi was amazingly sweet and did a great job!! 10/10 would recommend if you need something quick and simple done, and at a really good price too!:) I don't have a picture to show her work, only because my hair is so long; and like I said I only got a trim; therefore you wouldn't be able to tell the difference really. Same lady messed up my hairline twice now. It took my regular barber a lot of time to fix it, because of the botched job I got from here.

Used to go here all the time for haircuts, decent quality for the price. They used to ask about certain steps which is great getting customer input and making sure it's right. Most recent time I went in the stylist was chatting the whole time and didn't even ask what I wanted-- grabbed a buzzer and went to town-- totally butchered my hair to the point I can't even style it until it grows back. Sideburns look awful and my bangs are now GONE somehow. Would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I was trying this place for the first time. Place looked empty for a wait of 21 minutes. One of stylist was out in his car and I'm sure he clearly saw me. I saw a guy circling in parking to probably check if open. He went it and saw him chatting with the guy that was outside the establishment earlier. So I noticed my time never changed on the app so I walked in to inquire and advised them I had checked in on the app and that I had seen someone just walk in and get serviced. She said "they don't go by the app because it does not always work" so I told her that I would have sat in my car all evening just waiting for them to change time or give me some sign of smoke signal and she said YES. This the type of business I will not patronize. What type of service is this!! Also they both (hair stylist) did not look experienced and look like if they just graduated from Marinello. This place has an older heavy set hispanic lady that is just the worse. She argues with customers saying this is the way I do it and doesn't cut how the customer wants it. Avoid her at all costs. The staff knows who she is. The manager needs to retrain or let her go. She gets several complaints about her but nothing is done about it. read more

We have been to this location many times and even having recently moved from Torrance to Lawndale, we still come here. I brought my daughter here to get a Shampoo and also have her dead ends trimmed since she was long overdue. Her hair had grown pretty long in length and due to using a flat iron she had alot of split ends. The Stylist washed her hair and after taking an overall assessment of my daughter's hair condition she ended up taking off about three inches. The end result is my daughter's hair now feels healthier and it looks amazing! I went to great clips in Torrance del amo and this hairstylist messed up my haircut . When I got home, I looked in the mirror & noticed the uneven and lopsided haircut. I spoke with the Assistant Manager the following day over the phone. I stated my dissatisfaction but not even a single word of apology. I want to feel good about myself but she did an awful job, worst hairdresser. She did uneven haircut, definitely lopsided. I received the worst haircut of my life. This Asst Manager fixed it, but hopefully she'll retrain or offer the refresher course to this hairdresser, name CAT. read more

I wait another 16mins in lobby then called back and then told she could not physically do what I needed( wash-cut-blow out) and I'll have to wait another 15min for another stylist which is a little old man basically taking a magnifying glass to each strand of hair on this little old lady... If you want a place to completely disregard your wishes then this is the perfect place for you! I asked for half an inch cut with long layers and I got a little past shoulder length hair with choppy layers. My hair was past my waist and now it barely passes my shoulders.
