I got sick, didn't get up till 9.... I don't want to pay for cancelation and not have hair done so I ask if I can come at 10, and they was able to. Well I might have been better to pay the $50 cancellation. Now got to the chair, they quote me a price that higher than what a basic cos ( shoulder length, thin, my pony tail is like an inch diameter) In my head I thought I was late maybe that why. But I didn't say anything and just went with it. The hairdresser wasn't chatty but I'd give a pass cuz I'm sick, she prob not trying getting what I got, and I'm late so she prob just want to work and finish the job. When I saw the way she apply the lightener, I felt kinda iffy about it. So I made small talk like how long have she been doing hair, she said 7 n a year at this salon. So I was like ok, she prob know what she doing. I might just be overthinking. Nope I was just watching show on my phone but mindful and ask how she want me to sit, not make life harder. Didnt care to look till the end, the hair look horrible but I paid anyway. $330! I should have refused to pay and asked for over color and pay for that only. So I left, then contact the manager, i told her that it look bad, i want to have color over, only pay for color over all and get refund the rest. She say no refund policy, they have 7 days guaranty, they will fix it. Then we plan out how to fix my hair the next day. So it somewhat fix but it not how I want it. The manager say it fixed, there will be no more additonal service now, no refund. Just stop responding.

It used to be around 4 inches on the sides when stretched, and now its less than like 1. It used to be around 5 to 6 inches on top when stretched, now its like 2. Was Daisa who cut my hair. She barely listened, pretended to understand what i wanted and how my coil pattern worked, and it felt like she took advantage of the fact that i wasnt completel y sure of what i wanted her to do. Customers are to text who their appointment is with, and that person will let them know when it is safe to enter. My appointment was with Stephanie Castrucci. Stephanie took time cutting my hair. On that she did a good job. I would give the cut 4 stars. I was more impressed with the cut than the highlights. ALL other places I have had my hair colored at have shown color swatches to confirm the color I am describing is what they have. This has been the case no matter the stylist I have seen for color. (Unless it is a repeat appointment, and they remember my color.) Stephanie got right to mixing, with no visual confirmation. Resulting color was more oragne than I would have liked. Color also didn't go all the way to the roots in most places. This made the color immediately look like the hair had alreay grown out for a few weeks. The color I give 2.5 stars. I averaged the stars out to 3.

Search her name in the reviews at Salon Beck and you'll see what I mean. She has fixed my hair so many times. On my most recent visit she fixed my hair (yet again)- it had been dyed completely black by a stylist in California. She is an amazing colorist and her cuts are always perfect. I don't have to explain much- just tell her an idea of what I want and leave happy. Highly highly recommend.

One such morning occurred this week. But as luck would have it, Juliet must have had a cancellation. I never get THAT lucky! It's one thing to have an angel controlling the universe and to manage a last minute appointment but it's purely magic for Juliet to have a great idea. She sat me down and we discussed my crisis. I closed my eyes and as I relaxed in her chair she transformed the Brillo Pad hair on my head. She found my natural hair color and gave me the PERFECT haircut to get me into Summer. She transformed my shaggy, damaged mess into shiny, smooth hair. It's a miracle. This intervention was dramatic enough to convince me to stop pushing my "Hair God" luck. I will never leave there again without making my next appointment. She scheduled me for 4 weeks to trim and highlight it so I am not contemplating the skinhead look in mid-July. I love this place! While they have a few stylists, I specifically requested someone with more of a contemporary approach and ultimately I had a masterpiece of a haircut by Tyler. He's there on Fridays and Saturdays and I'd say he's more than worth the wait. Tyler was just hands down cool. Above and beyond the cut, he gave me good advice about beard maintenance, cleaned up my beard lines and advised on how to groom my beard. I had the goal of growing out the length and he gave me tips to achieve this. The appointment with him was like having a personal image consultant and barber in one, all for a very reasonable cost ($20). Couldn't be more pleased and I will be instabooking a three week follow up trim. Let's face it: a good hair cut can make you and a bad one can break you. I really appreciate when someone has attention to detail, isn't rushed and truly shows interest in getting things just right. Tyler definitely lived up to those expectations and that's why I'm making Grote's my new barber.
