So here is how the story goes.
This Great Clips in Watertown, WI seems to adjust their hours of operation quite often and in short notice will reduce their hours. Normally, I am unable to stop in during a weekday because I do not roll through town until ~18:30 - 19:00 hours (6:30 - 7 pm) from work. So, I usually will go on a weekend, get signed in on list and go on my merry way doing errands until my estimated time for haircut. Today, December 23rd, I was going to be smarter than that. I downloaded the Great Clips app and put my name in online for a haircut. Estimated wait time was ~120minutes. Not a problem, it was only 13:00 and store was open til 18:00. I had errands to run anyways. I checked App box to notify me when I was getting close to be next in line. Approximately 2 hours went by and no word from App, so I decided to head into the store anyhow. When I arrive, the at 15:30, there was a sign on the door stating store closing at 16:00 hours due to lack of hair stylists. Seems to be a common occurrence at the store, it is what it is. Went in. Was asked if I was checked in. I stated I was checked in online. Asked for name and gave it. No record of me being checked in online. Nice! Told the lady working that I checked in on line two hours prior. She told me store was closing at 16:00 and she was not going to able to get me in. Don't worry, this story has a happy ending. I went down the street to a competitor's business. This business was open until 18:00 that day. The nice people that worked at the store were happy to get me in right away. Got a nice haircut for Christmas at ~ same price that would have gotten at Great Clips. In addition, I noticed that the store was much cleaner, an ambiance of lighting that was not annoying and some Christmas music playing softly in the background, not blaring.
Needless to say, when I arrived at home, I deleted that Great Clips App. No need for it to be on my phone anymore. read more
