i went to this location to get a haircut I said I wanted long layers and a bit of face framing... it is very uneven whenever I got it cut people asked me if I tried to cut my hair myself . A 7 dollar haircut for 9.99 would be okay, but suddenly, we're at 19$. Here is what businesses like Great Clips don't understand. I used to get a haircut every three weeks - for around $11 a shot. That's 187 a year, not counting tip. Now, at these outrageous prices, I get one every six months. That's 38 a year, plus tip. Inbetween I get touch ups from my wife which are more than sufficient. The barbers here seem to have 0 listening skills. I had around 4.5 inches of hair and was looking to get approximately 0.5-0.75 inches of hair cut off, now, in what world does that equate to being left with 0.75-1 inches of hair? Garbage ass place, happened several times now, fucking tired of it. I can't see without my glasses and had to take them off during the haircut, so when I had the barber stop to put on my glasses I realized my hair wasn't even remotely what I asked for, even mentioning it was too short, to which her response was "This is actually longer than what was in your notes." Just go across the street to Sport Clips. I needed my hair cut, but Sport Clips was closed, so I went to to Great Clips... anything but. My cut wasn't even, wasn't rounded around my ears, and I audibly heard a different stylist say to a manager, "Umm, so I was never taught this. I've been coming to this store for years and I would have to say it's been 50/50 on if I really liked the hair cut or not. They never really tried to show me any products or gave me advice on how to improve my looks. That being said I have to say that I had my first 100% visit last Monday. Carlos did a fantastic job with my cut, he showed me a few ways to put my hair up and even made great recommendations on products I could use to shave and put in my hair. They run this place like an assembly line when they are busy. The rush makes it so there not much attention to detail which is not terrible by me since get a very simple cut but they never even ask how I want the back of my head done or how to my sideburns. The same cut I get here I can do better myself at home for free, just takes me longer. Now, the reason I won't be going back is that they do not sanitize their tools between uses. That is a huge no, it's unsanitary, and dangerous as customers may be exposed to dangerous deceases from prior customers. It is not uncommon to get small cuts during a haircut so the possibility of someone else's infected blood entering your body are real. You can only imagine how dangerous that can be. read more

So I've been going back here lately and the experience has been great! Whoever I had before that I didn't like is not a problem anymore since I don't really run into her. So the past is the past. In the present, everyone that has cut my hair so far has been great. Upbeat attitude, great service in making sure my hair is how I want it. Asserting myself is not this nervous thing, but a welcome dialogue. They keep a file on how you like your hair and I noticed that they update mine every visit so far tweaking it until it's perfect. Additionally, there is virtually no wait time if you use their app to check in ahead of time. Solid move on the company as a whole. So yeah. Worst hair cut experience ever for my son. He is 4 and has a hair cut every 4-6 weeks since he was 1 so he knows what to expect and goes to the chair all by himself. When I heard him start screaming saying that the hair stylist hurt him I came running. She kept holding his head telling him to sit still so she could do her job. I asked if her clippers were oiled well bc he NEVER has this problem. She said well if he would sit still it wouldn't be uncomfortable. He calmed down and before I knew it he was screaming again and this time I saw the blood on his ears and neck. Well it is a Great Clips, if you have been to one, you pretty much know what they are like. I've had worse haircuts (way, way ,way worse) and I've had better. It depends on who you get usually. I cannot express how great of an experience I had here with my son's haircut. He had extremely long hair and circumstances happened where his hair was cut at his ponytail before coming here. His confidence was gone. We drove by one hair salon and didn't feel right. But then we drove up to Great Clips and I talked to the girl before bringing my kid in, I hate myself that I didn't get her name, and I automatically knew i had found the right hands for this delicate subject (my son is takes much pride in his hair) But they perked him up and gave him a great haircut that he loves and made him feel great about himself. This place unfortunately is one of the two closest hair salons around white settlement. I continuously make the same mistake by coming back to this location. I don't understand why the employees here feel the need to cut my hair within 30 seconds. Whenever I get a haircut a BASIC trim, they miss hair on top and there is always chunks of long hair on the sides and back, I always catch myself at home using my hair clippers hoping I can make my hair even. I have been a loyal customer of great clips on Clifford street in white settlement since I moved here 5 years ago, therefore, tonight's experience was horrifying. I took my daughter in to get 7 inches cut off her hair. She was called back and within 2 seconds I was called over and was told she had lice and she couldn't cut her hair. I left and used the money I was going to get my daughter's hair cut with to buy the treatment. I went home and started treating and combing through her hair which took me 2 and a half hours as she has hair past the middle of her back. I found NO lice....not even one! I was horrified because as a single mother who gets no help supporting my kids I live on a very tight budget I had just wasted the money I was going to use to cut her hair on a treatment she didn't need at all because she assumed she had lice. Not only did I waste my money, but my time and not to mention my daughter was humiliated by being told she had lice when in fact she did not. "We closed at 5:00 due to the Labor Day holiday." "But the app shows you're open until 9pm and I'm already checked in." "Well, that is a corporate app and we are a franchise." I have shoulder length hair and I just wanted a trim. i told her upfront that I wanted no layers and only about a half an inch cut. She was done in less than 5 minutes and as my hair was still damp, I had no idea of the atrocity that awaited me with dry hair. The bottom layer was missing chunks, she gave me layers that were chunky and horrible and i wanted to cry. It was too short to put in a ponytail, bun or braid.
