I haven't been here since fall and they have gotten a upgrade! They are not in the little house anymore, they have moved to the building right next door on the golf course. Great view and a bigger space. The owner Lori is super nice and accommodating. She makes super bomb sandwiches. The menu didn't have exactly what my boyfriend wanted, but she made it happen! They do not serve clam chowder anymore, which is a super bummer because it was really yummy. But I totally understand why they stopped, the owner said they just weren't selling enough. This is pretty much the only place to eat in Ocean Park and lucky for us, it is super good! Stop by and support this small local business. Open 11-5 every day!

Delicious, thick and creamy clam chowder.

Delicious, freshly prepared food, friendly service, reasonable prices, a nice selection of bottled beers, daily specials, yummy desserts...what more can you ask for? We love the food at Great Day Cafe! Whether dropping by before or after a round of golf or just cruising over for lunch, there is no better place for lunch in Ocean Park. Limited indoor seating and cash only payment are minor inconveniences (there are several tables outside for sunny days and an ATM is next door in the Surfside Golf clubhouse). The panini sandwiches and soups are always delicious. It's so nice to have a great place to eat on the north end of the Peninsula!

It was absolutely outstanding! Every ingredient felt incredibly fresh and vibrant. The rich flavors of the grilled tempeh and the perfect tang of the sauerkraut paired beautifully with the hearty, fresh-baked rye. The service was also wonderful and incredibly thoughtful--they noticed we were sharing and kindly split the sandwich into two separate plates for us before bringing it out, which we truly appreciated. The only downside was the iced tea, which unfortunately tasted quite watered down and lacked flavor. Aside from that, it's a fantastic spot. If you're exploring the historic streets of Astoria and looking for high-quality, conscious food, this place is definitely worth a visit!

One complaint - I ordered the breakfast sandwich two days in a row. They looked completely different - on different breads and with different accompaniments. We didn't have…read morereservations, but just walked in; and the Chef said yes to our unplanned late last table arrival. It was either a two-course or a three-course meal $29 +$47 respectively. We did 3 each starting with homemade pimento cheese with celery sticks, sweet peppers sliced, and crustini. I'm not a big fan of the jarred commercial pimento cheese. This was extremely good. Tasting the peppers inside the cheese ball that you choose how and where to spread it. B+ maybe even A- for the flavor of the cheese and presentation. 2nd Course of shrimp etouffee. It was okay but too thin of a sauce due to a not dark enough roux. Flavors are spot on, shrimp are tender and delicious. A- for the effort to take on roux dishes. 3rd Course was a delicate hazelnut chocolate mousse in a champagne fluted crystal glass. Topped with a light whipped cream to find the dessert level. It had multiple layers of flavor in different areas of the mouth and nasopharynx. A+ for presentation and depth of flavor in a chocolate pudding! Cup of coffee to end the meal, so really 4 courses. The bookstore surrounds the entire restaurant. Very unique experience. Get reservations or try your luck with the Chef near 6:15 pm for a late exception allowed to slip in. Monthly menu then changed up, only work dinner shift on Fridays. Rest is lunch for Courthouse folk. Closed Sundays and Mondays. Overall Score A PS. There were other choices but I didn't try them so, another review for the future... Usually I photograph the food and menu, glucose meter said low so we ate in haste to also not keep entire restaurant open for just us, which we did anyways. And, chef and waitress were great at conversing while closing. PPS. I lived in NOLA next-door to Tulane University and two houses from St Charles Streetcar for 3 years, and have been chef of restaurants in past. Roux Cajun style is an artwork I love and understand

The turkey and spinach crepinettes were flavorful and the housemade cranberry mustard was the perfect accompaniment. The French potato salad and haricot vert were nice sides. I had the chicken sandwich with lemon pepper mayo and cauliflower soup. The mayo really brightened the sandwich. There was a generous amount of roast chicken and the bread was chewy and tasty. And then there's the Bananas Foster Bread Pudding. Sigh

It's a small restaurant inside with a few tables outside. When you put your name down with the hostess, she actually calls your phone number to tell you the table is ready! What great service. When it came time to eat, my friend and I ordered the breakfast and lunch special respectively. The lunch special that day was pork adobo sandwich with fries. I happened to ask for ranch on the side and OMG that was the best decision I made that day. Their ranch is one of the best ranches I've ever had. It's packed with dill and it's not too runny. I will be remembering THE RANCH DRESSING from here for a long time!! Osprey is a hidden gem on the coast and I highly recommend giving it a try if you're in the area!

Your lot was full, so we briefly parked on the street and were asked to move. That's fine, but it added time. When we got in, we were told it was a 45-minute wait and that we could get pastries to go. We started eating inside near the counter, but the owner asked us to leave the dining area. We ended up standing in the parking lot to eat, and my husband had to give himself an insulin shot out there, which was honestly embarrassing. In your reply, you mentioned patio seating and coffee, but none of that was offered to us. I understand that others may have better visits, but this was our experience and I think it is fair to share it. We were really disappointed with our experience at Wanda's. Parking was difficult, and after parking once we were told to move. Inside a 45-minute wait, so we opted for grab and go. Unfortunately, all 3 pastries tasted stale. Then, when we tried to find a place to eat them, we were told we couldn't stay and ended up eating standing in parking lot. Between the parking hassle, long wait, stale food, and feeling unwelcome, it just wasn't the experience we'd hoped.
