It's unfortunate that this is one of the nicest restaurant in town because it cooks for the target demographic of above 75. Everything was bland and flavorless. Whoever recommended the oyster escargot needs to get their taste buds checked out because saying it is to "die for" is the epitome of the "wtf meme" .

Several locals recommended The Depot and boy are we glad we listened! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience is so warm and inviting, you feel as though you're dining at a friend's home.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service is excellent, the food even better! We will definitely return whenever we are in town.

The food was amazing, my cup never empty, and bread refilled whenever needed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I loved seeing into the kitchen knowing it was clean and organized.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had apps, entrees, and dessert. All was perfect, this cheesecake was a special of the day best cheesecake I've had by far.

Placed a reservation for 7 with accessible seating and they were accommodating. The service was good and our waitress was exceptional. We all greatly enjoyed our food and have to say it lived up to everyone's great reviews. The only reason I brought this review down to 4 stars is because the steak was not cooked as requested to a medium. However, it was still good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is very cool and has an interesting vibe to it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It is pricey, so if you're looking for somewhere to celebrate a special occasion or want to eat somewhere "fancier" I'd recommend coming here.

What a great surprise! Camping nearby and we chose this great little place to celebrate my birthday. Amazing dinner, great service and a lovely wine selection. Can't wait to visit again.

5 stars!!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everything is perfected here from service, food, timing and ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's a treat getting a table here and thankfully they have open table to make that easy too for you as the place has limited seating each night so be sure to rsvp if you want a taste of this place. Whether you're a seafood lover or land lover or desire some tasty dessert to finish your meal with, the chef here has perfected everything. To be perfectly honest I wanted to order one of the entire menu so there will be a next time.

Well I'm bragging to my friends visiting from Alaska and Arizona .. lol polar opposites! I tell them this is not the place to be on a budget or diet! No need to get separate checks because we all had the same choices! Now my friend says he doesn't like calamari .. I'm like sure but this is like nothing you've ever had! My friend grabbed a second helping saying wow!! There's are amazing! Then the perfectly seared scallops came out! They were almost too pretty to eat! Again .. the chef gets it right! Sear to lock in flavors but not over cooked and gummy! Nope .. just yummy! Then comes the clam chowder! Friend note; never had clam chowder with clams in the shell! And I say no flour thickener !! This chowder never disappoints! The perfect manhattan was just that! And those cherries?? Wow! I'm done for now as I gotta eat! Steaks are on the way'

    Southern Comfort Pork. Always amazing!

Update: 6/2/25: The Depot continues to impress! This is our 'go to' place for great dining on the peninsula. They have remained consistent throughout the years, which seems like an unattainable goal for most restaurants on the southern WA coast. Recently, we were celebrating an event with a friend, and I had the Southern Comfort Pork. (I always have the Southern Comfort Pork - it's THAT good.) The pork was amazing. If you haven't tried this dish, you really should. Everyone in my party had an excellent meal.

Add in the incredible views of the Columbia River, and it's easily one of the coolest places in Astoria to relax and enjoy a drink. The cocktails are creative, beautifully crafted, and absolutely delicious. Their clam chowder is fantastic too. Thick, hearty, and loaded with meat, with a great consistency and a rich, classic chowder flavor. There was also a subtle hint of fennel that gave it something a little different without overpowering the traditional taste. After doing a chowder crawl and trying 10 different restaurants around Astoria, I would confidently put Inferno Lounge in second place, just behind Portway Tavern. Between the amazing river views, fun atmosphere, inventive drinks, and outstanding chowder, Inferno Lounge is definitely a place worth visiting!

On our first visit, we had the fish tacos and elk burger sliders, and both were delicious. On our second visit, we tried the clam chowder. You can't beat the view with this place right on the beach. Plus, it happened to be a beautiful day. When we walked in it felt very comfortable and more modern than I was expecting but had a comfortable ambiance. The service here was great. We were greeted right away. Our waitress was fantastic as well. I went with the Rockfish Sandwich which came with 2 pieces of rockfish, tartar sauce, creamy slaw, lettuce, and onion. I went with no tomatoes. Honestly, this tasted great. The fish was fried perfectly, not greasy at all. The fish appeared fresh as well. This came with battered fries. My youngest daughter had the grilled cheese, which she easily took down. No complaints. The menu may have changed, but we had some prawns in a chili sauce that tasted great, and my wife and other daughter had a salad with shrimp. This tasted great as well. The shrimp had a nice flavor and were not over cooked. It was the perfect addition to the salad. It was a little more on the pricier side, but everything is getting more expensive now days. Overall, we had a great experience. We had a great view, everyone working there was friendly, and our meal tasted great. The Sand Dollar is certainly worth a try.

We started with the patatas bravas, gambas pil pil (butter garlic shrimp), oysters (both raw and cooked), and a hummus platter, and everything was excellent. We added some chopped jalapeños for extra heat, but honestly, it was fantastic even on its own. The dessert was equally impressive, with a cake that was incredibly moist and the perfect way to end the meal. The wine selection deserves special mention as well. When we got our menus and the waiter came, I asked about the sides that we can order because those were on the menu. The waiter said, well, we can pretty much make anything a side. That wasn't very helpful. We took a while to decide. When we came back, he pushed us to order something, so we did. I order a salad with salmon. My daughter order veggie kabobs and her best friend ordered a loaded potato. The food 30 minutes to get out. My daughter friend started drinking her soda and it had no carbonation. When the food came, my salmon was cold - it was precooked and just taken out of the fridge straight to the salad. The loaded potato wasn't fully cooked. The kabobs - some of the potatoes were super mushy, while others were fully cooked through and they tasted like lemons. Very tart. Some of the veggies weren't cooked - it was like eating raw veggies - this meal costed $30. When I mentioned this to the waiter, he had a very confused faced. He then stated, I thought I pressed the carbonation button with the soda... huh.. I've worked in the restaurant industry for years. I know that's not how that works. The waiter took off the drinks from the bill - $6.00 and nothing else was said or done about the undercooked food. Very disappointed all around and will never go back again after that.
