I no longer take my 3 kids to this Dr office, I believe they scam the Insurance companies and I filed complaints to investigate this office. I always pay my co_pay of $60 with the Previous Drs for the past 17 yrs but this was my first sick visit for my son and I paid the $60 ahead and after the Dr saw him and wrote him an Antibiotic they handed me a bill of additional $30 almost to pay asking them why? What is the reason to pay additional $$ they answered that the Dr spent more time, wrote a prescription to your child so there is a level charge visit level 1,2,3,4 which is BS!! So no more visits to this Dr office and I like to aware all of you before you choose this Dr office for your children visits. read more

I have taken my 5 children here for 3 years and I have zero complaints. That's a lot of well check appts and a few sick appts. It includes a lot of vaccine shots, some breathing treatments and some extra blood tests. No matter which child I take in that day, with their unique situation, the staff is always nice and the wait times are acceptable. The Dr's and NP's all take the time to listen and we feel like we leave with good solutions and leave of mind. The nurses are the best I've seen for giving shots, not ever a fun situation for kids but few tears are shed. They deserve better ratings, but unfortunately people tend to only review when they're upset. So if you're looking for a pediatrician, don't put much stock into the complaints here. read more

It seems I'm not the only one who has had issues with the billing of this facility. I went to schedule a well check for my son and just found out that they dropped him from their practice for non payment. I have never once been informed of this balance of $37.90. They read off times that they "documented" contact but it's funny that not person they mentioned recieved a call. I never received a bill or anything. I hope the $38 is worth losing a patient over. read more

We love this office! I love that they require all patients to be fully vaccinated and don't pander to the antivax crowd. It's so important when you have newborns and immune compromised children who depend on those around them. The doctors are great and the nursing staff is excellent. read more

I used take my little boy here and loved it! Few years later when my daughter was born I started to bring her over but it seems the front-desk staff changed. They are poorly trained for their job and most of the time had to asked how to process things. I have blue cross blue shield and anywhere I go even here with my son, they process through insurance and they send me the bill for difference if there is any! But all of the sudden with change of the staff it seems that changed too! when my daughter got sick, I took her In with an ear infection and the doctor said I had to wait it out so scheduled me to come back ,if symptoms didn't clear up. Front fest charged me sick fee which was ok! Understanding. But when I came back because her ear infection got worst and doctor gave me antibiotics front dest charged me again! I got mad and told them I have already paid for the same visit. They told me this is how they have to process. I asked them if they can send it through insurance like before and see if they cover then send me a bill they didn't except. So I paid anyways. But when I returned for her check up! They told they need to refund me because they over charged me!!!! Brain explosions! Duh I tried to tell you guys! So they process t! Then two weeks later they called me and harassed me that I owed them money! This is when I lost it! The lady who was on the phone was super rude and didn't care that I was upset. Like I said the new crew who run the front desk have no clue what they are doing and don't care about patients. When I said I am done coming there she didn't even care. I hope at least doctors there know how they treat their patients and do something about it. Very disappointed! *Update: spoke with Sharlene , she was very kind and understanding. She acknowledged about all the unnecessarily charges back and forth and recommended for me to request to pay at the end of visit. That should clear up all confusions. I am going to give it one more shot and go back since I really like nurse Anita! Hopefully things turn around and I will change the rating. But for now I will leave it at that! read more

This is the best Doctor's office I have had the pleasure to take my children to. My family has been with these doctors for 13 years, with a brief break when we lived in CT. I would not think about taking them anywhere else. I have found Dr. Shepherd to be very kind, understanding and a very caring Dr. I really appreciate the service and care my children have received over the years. I have never had an issue with medication, diagnosis, or billing. I love that they talk to my children when they come in. My children like that as well. It makes them feel important. It pains me to leave this review. But it needs to be done. This practice came highly recommended by many parents I know. My baby is only six months old and is quite healthy and they messed up bad. I hate to think the outcome if she had serious issues. My daughter has eczema. The cure? Buy more OTC cream! That's it. Not a review of allergens, no plan for treatment when creams weren't helping, no talk of a referral to a dermatologist. When cetaphil cream wasn't helping her raw, oozing skin we were told to try very expensive formula despite her having zero signs of food allergies other than this. I decided to take her to a Phoenix Children's Derm who was confused over their inability to treat a very common skin issue. The prescription creams should have been prescribed no problem and apparently the diet they had us put her on was pointless in our circumstances. So we get another ped. We go to this appointment only to find out they MISSED GIVING HER VACCINATIONS. When the new office called GD, they informed that we did not take her to doc apnts. EXCUSE ME?! We have taken her to every doctors appointment recommended, have consented to all vaccines and followed through with ever (stupid) recommendation they made. We were also lectured at every visit about how much we fed our baby. As in we fed her too much. My child is in the lower % for weight. She grows fine and eats within the recommended amounts. I don't know why this was the focus of her apnts. There are SO many other options for doctors out there. Our new doc is absolutely fantastic. We aren't the only family who has left this office due to negligent staff. read more

After 5 years of loyal service, three children, and multiple visits we have come to feel a part of their family.... until today when we got a phone call saying we can't come back because we missed 3 appointments... in five years I might add. I understand that policy; however, I think it is simply ridiculous when you look at the big picture. I think missing 3 appointments in one year or three consecutive appointments or something like that makes more sense. Furthermore, I didn't even know I had missed three appointments in that length of time. It would be prudent for their office to inform you when you've missed two so you can be more aware of it. Headed into the new offices for the first time today, they're great! A lot more room to move which is nice. My only major complaint in the almost 3 years we've been with Dr. Lombard and Great Destinations is once my mom came in with us for a check up and Dr. Lombard directed the entire conversation at her. We've been going to this practice for almost 4 years now and I have no complaints. We have seen every doctor at the practice (for one reason or another) & each one has been just as wonderful & thorough as the last. But we mainly see Dr. Alfretche. She is actually new to the practice, but she has been a delight this past year and again, no complaints. The office staff is phenomenal & is the #1 reason why we switched to this pediatrician office to begin with. They call you to remind you of appointments, they're all polite, courteous & helpful. Did I mention polite,? The entire staff smiles, and greets you nicely. We have revived wonderful medical care for our 4 children. Awful just awful!! Run from that practice, besides the fact that every advice that was given caused problems they are very SHADY. "Dr." Shepherd was nice until we decided to stop poisoning our kids with vaccines. She explained that they can't have us for the sake of newborns who might get sick from those who choose not to vaccinate. Really? I have read he slips that they tried to talk me out of requesting. Did you know that if your child gets chicken pox vaccine, they can infect babies or ppl with weak immunity with chicken pox! Not only nobody gave us that warning from patient info printed on the slip, they also didn't tell us any of adverse effects of vaccines they were supposed to tell us that could happen! So the changes in moods, skin rashes, getting sick easily was never reported by us! Btw read those slips, there is cells from aborted male baby from long ago, isn't it sick?! Oh and last but not least, they kick you out of practice for not vaccinating not bc they worry you infect other kids but bc THEY GET PAID EXTRA FOR EACH FULLY VACCINATED CHILD. Disgusting. We had an appointment with the nurse practitioner , Mary Lavalley. I am so so upset with her attitude that I'm going to think again if I will bring my kids to this office . I do not disagree with her diagnosis at all, but she really needs to change her attitude. She needs to show some compassion, that is why she is in the medical field. Compassion goes a long way. As a mom, I am worried for my son. Lately, each viral infection that he has, turns into ear infection or pneumonia. He complained last night that his ear hurts and that he feels like his is underwater. So it's normal to ask twice if he might have ear infection. All she had to do is re-assure me that everything is ok. I miss my old doctors from TN. I guess coming from an university center, you get too spoiled. I hope someone in the their office will read this review . And I hope that Mary will put respect and compassion as her main goals this year. I brought my first daughter here 5 years ago. She wasn't gaining weight. Then we started formula and she gained the weight she should have and the doctor told us to stop feeding her when she is hungry. We were told to space it out and deal with the crying. I've been taking my kids here for a while and I absolutely love this office. We currently live in the Goodyear Area and I'm more than ok with taking a 30 minute drive to get to the office. My kids see doctor Shepherd and she is awesome. Very knowledgeable, caring, understanding, and very gentle with my children. She always available for advice or to answer any questions that I may have. Anita, the MA is just as awesome. She's easy going and very knowledgeable as well. They make their patients feel like they're at home and that's what I love most. When I call and leave a message for the nurses, they call back ASAP and that's another thing about this place, you don't have to wait hours for a response on questions that you have. Great Destinations is the absolute best pediatric office in the Valley! Not only did they provide us with outstanding patient care they went above and beyond to meet our needs both physical and financial. My grandson is required to be on a special formula and they provided us with many sample cans to help us out. The staff is extremely friendly and organized . Healthcare is supposed to a collaboration between health care professionals and the patient. This place has a philosophy that they know best and you need to be taught. I think they might be well intentioned but they are completely misguided. To them, a child is never sick. They always have a virus and everything will be fine. In fact, they will talk down to you if you raise any concern beyond that unless they agree with you. Its a very condescending way to treat people. This practice works wonderfully until something is actually wrong! We got this treatment from the office for 3 months until we finally switched doctors. Our concerns were brushed aside. There is nothing wrong we were told. Turns out, our daughter has asthma along with severe allergies that exacerbate the symptoms. How long would they have brushed us off? Months? Years? I am glad we decided to switch pediatricians when we did. I do not recommend this place at all. read more
