Update for my review. Specifically for the Dr. Your lack of professionalism on the phone was shocking! As a doctor you should know how to conduct yourself in a more professional manner. 10 minutes after my orignal review posted the Dr called me. Before 8 AM. "Hello, I saw your review, I sent a text to our billing department and they will reach out. If you owe us, we will keep the money. If not we will refund it." Thank you for the update. It is crazy to get a bill 4 years later *side note a week later billing hadn't reached out and insurance said they didnt have a claim from this practice in 2021.* At that point the Dr did a 180 in tone, raised his voice and threw professionalism out the window. "We work really hard for all of our good reviews. You are just a keyboard warrior writing bad reviews and there is nothing I can do to have your review taken down". I said "excuse me. I wrote my experience with your practice." Instead of saying "I will talk to my team to get invoices sent out in a timely manner" you call me a keyboard warrior for writing a review about my experience with your practice. Original review: Brought my son here one time in '21. Visit went smoothly. 3 months later we got a bill. I called with questions, left multiple voicemails with no response. I finally got in touch with someone, I forget the specifics since this was 4 years ago, but they said they would write it off since it was an error on their side. May of 2025 we get the bill again. I thought it was a bill for a recent ER visit so I paid it. 2 days later I realized it was a bill from 2021 for this office. My son has been a patient to Dr. Aurora for 5 years now and we have always been treated with the most TOP quality care! My son was born around Thanksgiving so when my son was newborn & offices were closed for the holiday but Dr. Aurora still insisted us coming in during his closed hours, he truly is a very passionate, caring doctor. Anytime I call they can get my son in within that same day, they are so flexible with our schedule. He is a very reassuring doctor for any questions I ever have. Even for the small stuff when my son has ever been slightly sick & I feel unsure if I should bring him in they always give no hesitation for me to bring him in anyways to be safe. We are so happy we found Dr. Arora after trying a couple other pediatricians in the area. Dr. Arora is always kind, caring, and his diagnoses & treatments always seem to be spot-on & are effective. He is available to see our sons in a timely manner; often same-day. He sometimes answers his own phone, instead of a secretary. Likewise, he calls me back directly instead of a nurse assistant or other messenger - which I truly appreciate. I have sent him pictures via text message (to what seems to be his personal cell phone) and he responds with a text or phone call back giving me prompt feedback as far as advice/guidance or when I'm determining if I need to get my child seen and what place urgent care vs emergency, etc. I am grateful for this level of accessibility and communication between physician and patient. It seems to be extremely rare these days. Also, part of being a good physician (or any professional) is knowing your strengths and being aware of your limitations. Dr. Arora is comfortable referring out to specialists appropriately (instead of attempting to treat something outside his scope/wheelhouse), unlike other physicians we've dealt with. One of our sons had what I consider to be a botched circumcision at another pediatrician's office. Had we been going to Dr. Arora from the beginning, I know he would have referred us to a skilled urologist to perform the procedure. Very terrible service from Dr Rakesh Aurora. We found him to be very rude and very inattentive to our needs and especially to our newborn. The dismissive way he treated a woman who had just given bith as well as failing to provide timely updates was highly stressful, unprofessional and made it a nightmare to deal with him. I would highly recommend another doctor as I feel this office, their billing department, and especially their main pediatrician are exclusively out for money. read more

We recently relocated to Peoria and I was anxious about finding a new pediatrician but I cannot be more grateful for Dr Arora! As a former healthcare professional at Mayo clinic, my standards for healthcare are "above average" and Dr. Arora gained my confidence from the moment I scheduled my appointment on several occasions; calling his office, I am able to speak to the physician directly which is incredibly rare to come by these days. He was short-staffed at our visit- he did everything from verify insurance, obtain HPI and vitals, examination, coding, AND the checkout process all while answering an abundance of questions and concerns in a calm and professional manner. He and another physician you could say are co-managing my infant's severe reflux and "colic." I have called him several times and he is always quick to offer advice, affirmation, and expertise. My infant was on day 3 of moderate to high fever with no clear symptoms other than holding her ear a few times. I called for an acute appointment with Dr. Arora for fever and earache and he saw my baby that same day. He looked her over and assured me her ears were fine and this was most likely a roseola viral infection and to watch for a rash to break out after the fever resolved. Sure enough her last fever was the next morning and a rash developed 24 hours later. I'm so appreciative of his clinical expertise and for not over-treating. I'm pretty sure our last non-physician practitioner would have just prescribed an antibiotic if I mentioned earache. If my baby had gotten an antibiotic for this virus I then would have thought the rash was a medication allergy and we'd need to avoid that antibiotic long-term. Dr. Aurora is great! We switch to Advanced Pediatrics a year ago and we are so happy! So many doctors today scare new moms, and Dr. Aurora does not do that! He is kind and patient. Since my kids started daycare, they have been sick a few times, he is always willing to see them last second, or a tele-health call. This practice is just so great! It's actually pretty far for me to drive, but Dr. Aurora is so great, I don't mind the distance to have a terrific doctor! read more

I highly recommend Advance Pediatrics due to Dr. Arora and his staff. This is my second child and I was not a fan of my first child's pediatrician(s); I had many concerns with finding a new pediatrician for my son. During my pregnancy I called many pediatric offices and no one was getting back to me. Dr. Arora's staff picked up their phone and the lady I spoke with sent me the paperwork that assured me that my baby boy would have a visit after the hospital. I then met Dr.Arora at the hospital where I delivered; he was very straight forward and professional. He has always been available when I call during his off hours with any concerns that I have. His facility is very clean and never crowded. My son and I are always taken back and seen right away. He does a thorough check and has time to answer all my questions. So happy with our decision to switch over to Advance Pediatrics. We have been at his office for a little over a year now and are so happy with him and his staff. He is caring, attentive and informative. There have been a couple of times when I have called with a question or two and he has gotten on the phone or called me back quickly. We just moved to the area and needed to see a pediatrician asap due to my daughter having an issue with her foot. She recently had a wart removed abut left a significant wound. It seemed to be healed. All of a sudden the area looked infected and my daughter was screaming in pain. I brought her to this Dr due to symptoms getting worse. She developed red lines that were sore to the touch. It did not look good. He barely looked at it and said it's fine, go home and use soapy water and Neosporin and wait a week. Went home.. she was up crying in pain again. Finally took her to urgent care where they said it is Cellulitis and she needed an oral antibiotic immediately. Left untreated it could be very very serious. I don't know how he could send us away!!! Very concerning. read more

I was more than apprehensive when my insurance made me switch doctors when my daughter was 12 months old, but it ended up being the biggest blessing. I cannot say enough amazing things about Dr. Arora. My baby girl has been sick with her first fever this weekend. When I called the office, the Dr. answered both times and talked me through what to do. I didn't sit on hold. I didn't have to be connected to triage. I didn't even have to drive there. When our daughter was first born we had no clue who we would be using as her pediatrician and our original plan was to use who ever the hospital had while we were there and then research others. That was before we met Dr. Arora. From our very first experience with him he has taken the best care of our peanut and we were so comfortable with him in the hospital that even though it's about a 45 minute drive we had to use him as our pediatrician. Our daughter is over a year old now and this place has been nothing but amazing with her, answered any questions, and every time I call with a concern or issue I am always treated kindly and like every concern I have is a valid one. Now with our second baby on the way we will definitely be staying with Advance Pediatrics, and we will be recommending Dr. Arora to all our mommy friends! read more

My daughters have been seeing dr Arora for almost a year now. I'm so thankful for him. He always answers his phone when I call. He always will trouble shoot my concern over the phone when possible and always gets my girls in to see him without waiting. He has saved us a lot of time and stress. I switched over from Valley of the Sun pediatrics to Dr.Auroras practice about a year ago. He has made himself available for any questions or concerns at all hours of the day. Being pregnant with my second child I am so fortunate to have found Dr. Aurora for my newborn care. He is everything that I would want in a pediatrician: extremely knowledgable and caring. I have personally recommended several of my friends to his practice and continue to rave about him to anyone who can't find a great pediatrician. Before his practice I chose to take my daughter to the pediatric urgent care because I was so disappointed with my daughters pediatric care. So this is a real improvement. read more

I have some mixed feelings about my experience here. Our 6 month old daughter had to be seen on Christmas Eve, on a short notice because of congestion issues. We were out of town and no pediatric urgent cares were open near us so we did what we could. We thought it could be an ear infection so it was extremely relieving knowing that they had some time available to be seen. They informed me that they were closing at noon to which I said no problem I'll be there as fast as I can (it was 10:30) we got there by 11:15 (it was 30 mins from us). The lady at the front was professional but kinda had an attitude. Regardless I stayed polite (again it's Christmas Eve so I'm just thankful we could be seen). Anyway, we go into the room at about 11:35 and the nurse who came in was extremely nice and welcoming and she was awesome. Took about 10 mins to get our babies weight and all that. By the time doctor came in it was about 11:45. He came in and checked to see if she had an ear infection and turns out she didn't. He said that our baby was perfectly healthy which is always great news. However, I informed him of the symptoms she's been having for over 2 months now and he kept saying things like "she's fine. That's less likely. Nope she's fine alright everything's fine" and he kept trying to rush me. Which was pretty rude. I was just concerned and trying to get to the bottom of the issue and he was being super dismissive and ignoring my questions. I totally understand him rushing as it was Christmas Eve and 15 minutes before closing. But what's the point of even being open if you're not going to *fully* care for your patients? Anyway, it turned out to be allergies so I'm glad we didn't come back here because according to the doctor there was "nothing wrong". read more

When my wife and I had our baby at Arrowhead Hospital we didn't have a pediatrician lined up so the hospital recommended Dr. Arora since he works with them, and honestly we couldn't be happier. From the start Dr. Arora made us and our daughter feel more than comfortable and now he will be our Doctor for or baby permanently, his office is new but he has been doing this awhile and you can tell, he goes above and beyond for our daughter every time and is even on call for everything my wife and I need (which my wife loves) his office is welcoming and the staff is kind and caring. I could go on and on but if you are looking for a pediatrician please choose Dr. Arora you have my word you will not be disappointed! read more

Met Dr Arora at the hospital as the attending pediatrician but already had a pediatrician picked out for my child where my other children attend. Well after calling and the baby's first visit I was less than impressed and super emotional. I called Dr Aroras office and explained I wanted to switch over to him. I was put on hold I assumed to find an available appointment, yet minutes later the doctor himself got on the line to ask what my concerns were so he could accurately see how quickly he needed to see my newborn. He told me when to come in which was two days later and he was very thorough in his examination with him even though I was only there for a weight check. At my last pediatricians office when I did the weight check with them we couldn't even get a doctor in the room to ask any questions at all. So far so good I'm probably gonna switch my other children over to the office as well. Little farther away but worth it! read more
