We feel truly blessed to have him not only as my son's doctor but as a trusted friend. What sets Dr. Hartsook apart is his ability to communicate; he explains every situation in a way that is easy to understand, avoiding confusing medical jargon and ensuring we are fully informed. Despite how busy he is--often booked months in advance because he is so highly sought after--we have never once felt rushed. Every appointment feels personal and thorough. You can truly tell when a provider is passionate about their work, and his love for what he does shines through in every interaction with his patients and their families. Absolutely disappointed. I've been taking my two children to this office since 2011. Last week, I called to schedule their well-child checks and was told I couldn't do so until I paid a $25 balance from 11/24. I offered to pay at the appointment, but they refused to schedule until it was paid. I was transferred to billing -- and the representative I spoke with was HORRIBLE. If I could give zero stars to this billing representative, I absolutely would. She was rude, argumentative, and began yelling once I raised my voice -- which I take full responsibility for, but only after being treated with complete disrespect. I had to hang up on her because the conversation became unprofessional and hostile. When I asked to speak with someone else, I was told she was the only one available. I also went into the office in person after the statement was sent, and no one mentioned the balance or requested payment. I cannot believe this practice denied care over $25 -- after 14 years of being a loyal patient. I called back and left a detailed message for the manager, and I'm still waiting for her to return my call. As a clinic manager myself, I would be outraged if one of my staff treated a patient or parent this way. And if I received the kind of message I left, I would have called back immediately. Both my daughter and myself really like Dr Hartsook he is kind, caring and puts his little patients at ease with his fun personality. I think it's a win when I feel like I am being heard and my questions are being answered and my daughter really likes her Dr. it took 3 months to get in but once an established patient you are golden. If thinking about seeing this dr then just get in for a wellness check up. One thing, I was never told he had another office in Avondale. Maybe I could have gotten in sooner there. Not sure. I'm Truly thankful for Elizabeth at the front desk, she has been a true supporter of the care and health of my son.I appreciate Elizabeth so much she has gone out of her way constantly to help my Family with vitamins and formula and coupons. Our medical bills are out of control and they're constantly so high and always coming since my son has a heart condition,And Elizabeth found a way to take some of the burden off of us which is something she didn't even have to do and took it upon herself. I highly recommend this doctors office if even the front desk helps in the care of your child. This is my second visit here and I have to say WE ARE TREATED LIKE FAMILY. We did not wait long. Staff give us a complete exam. I took my 11 year old yesterday because he was not feeling well. We met with Dr Purtee who fist peeked into our room to let us know she had a patient before us and will be with us in a few minutes! Which was awesome! Then she came in and introduced herself to us and she is the sweetest and most informative Dr. we ever had. She walked us through my son's strep throat diagnosis and the medication breakdown and home remedies to help him tolerate his pain. My son could not stop talking about how great she is. I love how suddenly, some patient had a heart defect "found" and posted. I don't think it's a coincidence at all. Staff fails to claim the page but are very proactive in soliciting reviews to bring up their score. We see Heather Jacobs (now Lane, conveniently) is still practicing at this office despite her astounding incompetence. Our son had to have open heart surgery at age five due to her arrogance and ego. I had my daughter June 2021 and the service's provided by doctor Rajav were amazing but as I was trying to get her 2 month visit scheduled I spoke to Michelle in billing who said my daughters insurance was showing inactive so we had to reschedule my daughters appointment, I spoke to my insurance carrier, got a reference number and who I spoke to to authenticate that my daughter was active and I gave the info to Michelle. Michelle said she was going to verify the info and if there were any issues she would call me and if she didn't then I was okay to come to the appt. I didn't hear back from her so I went to her appt which at this point she is now 4 months going to her 2 month well exam, to be interrupted in the middle of speaking to the doctor to be told my insurance shows inactive we need to reschedule. I spoke to Yadira who was very helpful and took my insurance card info and said she would call the insurance. As I got home Yadira called me and said she shows my daughter is active and the doctor wanted me to come back. At this point I was already home and rescheduled the appt. So now she's sick and I call to make a sooner appt and I'm not able to because Michelle in billing says I have an outstanding balance and can't be seen until paid. As I'm explaining to Michelle I've called insurance and have given her all the information she needed she talks over me and argues with me I ask her if she can call the insurance herself and verify she says "absolutely not this is the patient's responsibility" she continues to talk over me and I ask her if I could speak "she says no you may not speak I'm busy and have other things I'm doing" she was very rude and arrogant and at this point it's a form of financial abuse and I will be reporting this to the compliance hotline because my daughters care is being delayed due to the incompetency of this billing manager who could care less to help me resolve this billing issue by simply calling my insurance to get my claims billed properly so my daughter could be seen. I would not recommend this place at all if you care about those who are providing service to your children to actually care enough to help resolve issues. My insurance company sent me a guarantee of benefits and will be paying these balances and I will be taking my children elsewhere. read more

It's hard for me to write this because it makes me so angry! We were assigned this office after the birth of my daughter. At her two month appt, I brought up to the nurse practitioner that I thought she had a lip tie and tongue tie. SHE ACTUALLY SAID TO ME "lip ties don't exist, and if she had a tongue tie she wouldn't be able to move her tongue at all" She's a professional, I assumed her to be knowledgeable and trustworthy so I brushed it off. Meanwhile, dealing with sore and cracked nipples, bleeding and an improper latch. She told me I was just using the wrong position while nursing. I was determined to provide the best nutrition for my baby, even though it often made my toes curl up in pain. I switched practices last week, I was tired of dealing with the unprofessionalism at this office (solids should not be started at 4 months! it's not the 70's anymore, said I was going to let my daughter choke and suffer for doing baby-led weaning) And at her new office they confirmed she does have an lip tie AND a tongue tie, and she's getting it revised August 7th. I can't believe I suffered for so long because a medical professional is not educated on this subject! Not to mention lip and tongue ties can cause severe dental and speech issues later on in life! I can't say enough about the office staff and doctors. We have been coming for 4yrs the same staff is there so this should tell you what a wonderful place it is to bring your kids. I recall when my daughter was just born and had so many questions they where right there to call me back and answer my questions. My little one loves the office staff and the atmosphere as well. Wouldn't change my daughters medical doctors office for nothing... Last Thursday my husband tested positive for covid so i called the pediatrician to ask if my son should be tested since he got bad last sunday and we went to the hospital. so they told me to go and do the covid test. we did the test On Friday (07/30). First of all I found Dr Gary totally confused about the test, information and his way to check my son's lung. I asked him twice when I would get the result and he told me : tomorrow (Saturday 07/31)I will contact you very early to inform the result. he never called me. I called the office 3 times and they told me that the clinic was closed and that the result would only be informed on Monday. I was outraged and asked Dr Gary to call me or the nurse responsible. to my surprise she called me and said the result would be out within 48 hours not 24 hours. and that if my son had a cough it was just to give honey and put the humidifier on. All this situation made me wonder: if covid is a deadly disease (it killed millions of people) and after 1 1/2 year of this disease why the tests take so long to get an answer knowing that inside the house of this person/kid someone tested positive. now i understand why people still die from covid. It is not because of the virus itself, but because of the delay and lack of preparation of the professionals. I never come back to west valley pediatrics and I refuse to pay any bill from this. read more

We moved pediatric offices about 5 years ago. When my son was 2 I had had it with this office and the pediatricians here. (He went there from infant-2) My son received a late diagnosis of autism because these providers kept insisting that he was just delayed in speech. I wanted to leave a review because one of my friend's daughter who is 3 almost 4 years old received a late diagnosis of autism as well!!! This office should screen at 15 months! After taking my kids in for about 9 months now, I feel like I can confidently give WVP a good review. I've tried several pediatricians in the last 3 years due to relocating and this office is by far the best I've experienced. My kids have mainly seen Dr. Cunningham, who isn't necessarily the friendliest, but she does her job efficiently and professionally. She asks relevant questions and is quick to provide knowledgable answers to any questions. The office staff has always been friendly to me, and the rooms are clean. Wait times are usually reasonable, and when they haven't been- the nurse assistants acknowledge it with a simple "sorry for the wait!" Dr. B checked my newborn son for his first appointment and was very good with him. I'm happy to have a great care provider for my kids so close to home! read more

I called yesterday to make my 4 year old an appointment And they gave it to me today at 9am. Great. I was happy. Ended the call to receive a call A few minutes later from the Lady in the front asking me if I had insurance I say no that we'd be self pay. Her tone automatically changed and said the provider did mention the visit starts at $65 right? which she had so I said yes. long Story short she basically just said okaaay.. we will see you tomorrow. Not once did she mentione Id have to call when I arrive outside the pediatrician office. so I get the my appointment and I waited in my car because I see a man standing right in front of there door so I assumed he was in line after 8 minutes of waiting in my car I call and ask how they are checking in patients and they told me well your late you had to call once you arrived, I told them no one told me I had to prior to my appointment and she just put me on hold because now they would have to ask the provider if he could still see my baby. she told me he could, but at 10am. I live 45 minutes away I was not going to wait in my car for one hour not to mention my son had to get blood drawn and can't eat until after his appointment and he's 4! This is ridiculous! if you want your children to get treated with love and Their well-being be priority WestValley is not the place! I will be looking elsewhere to take my children. read more

Dr. Berebitsky is the best doctor we have ever had. We moved out of state and have yet to find a doctor as knowledgeable as Dr. B. He always took the time to answer all our questions and helped us make decisions about our child's health. Great bedside manner. I am giving 4 stars instead of five because we had the unfortunate experience of going to one of the other doctors at the office who sent us to the ER instead of sending us to a specialist for a minor issue. She really jumped the gun, causing a lot of unnecessary distress, and every doctor we spoke about the issue to confirmed our belief that she had overreacted. read more

I have been bringing my children here for over 10 years. Dr. B is my favorite in the office. He's very efficient and to the point, but still takes the time to listen and doesn't dismiss symptoms or concerns. All of the providers are excellent. They have an after hours service you can call if you have need. I've used it a few times in the past and had calls back late in the evening. They're usually on time, but you do need to wait on occasion, usually during sick season. I also had a concern a few years back regarding a particular office policy, but was able to come to a solution with the office manager. Overall a fantastic practice! read more

Our first appointment was with Dr. Hartsook, we liked him so much that all my sons appointment are scheduled with him. Highly recommend Dr. Hartsook! He's very relatable and patient. He doesn't rush through his visits with my son and makes sure all my questions have been answered. He goes above and beyond and his nurses are great too. They are so quick when giving vaccines and very friendly. They always try and make my son laugh and distract him as they are doing his check up. They have a sick side and a well side which is so important for keeping little ones from getting others sick. Overall I love this office. My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is their waiting area is kind of boring for kids. They have a tv but I see a lot of pediatrician offices that have toys and fun stuff to keep kids entertained while waiting. I think that would help improve the office even more! This office is just too busy. The administrative staff is overworked and it shows in their attitudes towards parents. Wait times are long, you are lucky to get an appointment even for a well check, and when your kid is actually sick they make you talk to a triage nurse to make sure they are really dying before they will let you schedule an appointment. If your kid isn't "sick enough" to be seen you are left with a set of instructions from the nurse to try and deal with it yourself at home. Unless they really take a turn for the worse, in which case they tell you to take them to the ER or urgent care which costs a lot more (even with insurance). On the positive side, the doctors are nice and helpful when they can manage to squeeze you in. Dr. Cunningham is sweet and nice, Dr. Hartsook knows all the right questions to ask and gives great advice. read more

Front staff are very rude, definitely not morning people or friendly. When I call to make an appointment, the phone will hang-up while being "put me on hold". Dr. H is a very good doctor on the other hand cant be seen by him unless you make an appointment. When your child's sick and in need of a checkup its almost impossible to get seen the same day. Its almost like you feel like your walking on egg shells just to get your child the check ups they need. definitely would not recommend. read more

Dr. Cunningham has been our pediatrician since my twins were born. She visited the NICU to check them every morning since they were only 3 lbs when they were born. They are now almost 6 and my other son is 4 and everyone is happy and healthy. We have seen all of the doctors and NPs and I highly recommend everyone in the office. They are always friendly and helpful and we can usually get in immediately if we have to. There is never a long wait and they take their time and are very thorough. I recommend this office to all of my friends. You will not be disappointed. read more

After my daughter's 18 month appointment, I decided it was a must that I find a new doctor's office. Nobody is particularly friendly, including the doctor we saw the first several times. The nurse or physician's assistant was pleasant, but I never felt like she was listening to what I was saying and she didn't answer my questions. It felt like she was reading from a script of canned answers and that was supposed to be sufficient. It wasn't. My daughter, like all the other kiddos seen at this place, is an individual and has specific needs and concerns. Ultimately, it felt like being in a factory. The patients are bustled into the office and then shooed away. I'm happy that we have found something that better suits us. read more

Dr's are great there, love Dr Hartsook, patient and real caring, been bringing my girls there for several years,..however lady at front didn't take me in after I signed my name on list way before several clients came in afterwards. She just never checked , and when she finally did I had to give her Id and insurance card. Next time don't rely on writing your name on and just sitting down like your suppose to do. The doctors and nurses are consistently great, which is why we've stayed with them. Unfortunately, as others have pointed out the office staff is a nightmare. They have been incredibly rude both in person and over the phone and they seem to go out of their way to make setting an appointment as difficult as possible. Last time i went, we were 15 minues early. The first words out of the front desk girl's mouth: "You're late." Since we moved from Colorado we had really bad experiences wit health care in Arizona and I found this doctor office (WVP) in the big timing I loved Dr. Cunningham and her nurse Kristine I have a child with DS and my little boy is very unstable (hyper) so I really liked them but I've notice that they were not doing there job with my kids I end up taking my kids back to the state of Colorado to see their previous pediatrician and other doctors am really disappointed of this state of Az no offense am really sorry but the worst thing is the few days ago my kids had a skin rash like and I call them to get some help and when I came in they told me to go from the back door then one nurse came to check on my kids then another one and they told me they were doing this because dr. Cunningham was pregnant and she just wanted to make sure my kids didn't have anything contagious I mean but make such a humiliating act of bringing us from a side door !!!!! and I was like ooooook!!! Stay home then!! what she only likes to see well kids !!! And that really made feel upset because my kids only had a really dry skin all I need it was to make sure everything was ok and get like some good cream !!!! My kids are to much for those kind of uncompetitive doctors !!! And one more thing they're receptionists are the worst everrrrr!!! One day I took my daughter to her well exam and I was on the well side and the lady told with attitude I want you in the other side (sick side) in the moment I didn't understood why because it was something new for me it was one of my first time there!!! Found West Valley Pediatrics on yelp due to good reviews and specifically Dr. Hartsook. He was super nice, patiently answered all questions while giving us info too, and was funny. I started my newborn's care at this office and within 3 months, it was clear this place was not for us. We never saw a pediatrician, even when the nurse practitioner was trying to diagnose our son with a failure to thrive. She suggested giving our 2 month old 2 ounces of water a day, which is incredibly outdated advice. She also suggested we start solids at 4 months, against the AAP recommendations of 6 months. They allow unvaccinated patients, while other offices will not allow that. The nurse talked endlessly and gave a lot of basic parenting advice rather than medical advice. She suggested multiple things that would have been detrimental to my breastmilk supply, so if BF'ing is important to you, find another office with better support. They didn't even have a nursing/private room to soothe baby after shots. The wait times were long and they would act inconvenienced when I requested to nurse after an appointment, as if they don't understand that newborns feed often. read more

Brought my children here recently for overall check up. The staff was friendly and really knew how to engage the children in conversation. The Dr. was helpful and kind explaining to the children and I what was going on with them and what they needed to watch for. It really felt like they made the time to go over questions and concerns. Ok this rating is for the office STAFF only. Office staff is pretty lucky they have amazing doctors. Previously, we took our little girl to Dr. Cunningham which I might have to say I am sure she is good but she is a bit curt, dry, and short. Ever since we have been taking our little girl to Drs. Berebitsky and Hartsook (same office) we have been so pleased. I cannot say the same for the staff. They NEVER call you to let you know you have an appt coming up. Ummm...isnt that their job...we all have our jobs and other responsibilities and I would figure they would want to do what they are being paid to do. Three times now I haven't received a call to notify me that an appt is coming up. I am pretty sure it's one person so I don't know if its fair to say the whole staff. Get with the new times and get that service that everyone else and their mother has where I will get a text message a day or so before my appointment to confirm or cancel the appointment. Whoever came up with that is brilliant! (Thank you from busy moms everywhere!). I will have to say there are a few ladies in the office that are more than a pleasure to work with. I get it, people are busy and are trying to get things done BUT SO ARE WE! I will have to say Drs. Berebitsky and Hartsook are a blessing and they are the ONLY reason why I keep going back. read more
