This is a little long and I'll try and keep it as short as I can but still tell about my experience at the Great Expressions in Mesquite, Texas. In 2016, I came in because I needed to have several teeth pulled and I spoke with the female dentist there about dental implants. I wanted dental implants because I have only heard negative things about dentures. The dentist proceeded to talk me out of the implants and into dentures because they were cheaper and she promised she would make sure they would fit so I would be happy with them. I trusted that and decided to go ahead. I received my dentures approximately 6 weeks later and was happy with how they looked. They were very pretty, and they did fit well when I left that day. Unfortunately, it was near impossible to eat with them and they stretch out very quickly so you have to use more and more adhesive and/or go back in and have them tightened up. I made do though since I had already invested in them. Then in October 2021, I was out of town at my daughter in law's wedding and on the way out of the hotel, somewhere between the hotel and the car, my dentures must have fallen out of my bag because when I got home, I could not find them anywhere. They never showed up in the hotel's lost and found, so I made an appointment to get a replacement for the top denture. I came in and saw a male doctor this time and he was extremely nice and had me fixed up in no time. He ordered a new top plate and he told me it would be about 2-3 weeks before they came in. He sized my mouth at that time and I was under the impression that what I was picking up in 2-3 weeks was the actual denture. I may have misunderstood but at that time, I was certain that's what I was told. In 2 weeks, I received a call from the office that my dentures were in. That was the message I got "Your dentures are here and please make an appointment to come in to make sure they fit". I made the appointment and when I got there, the female dentist was there and told me that what they had was the wax denture and she was going to make sure they fit and then order the denture. I never saw this denture that "came in" since I had already picked out the color shade and gotten fitted. I asked to see them and was told no. Then they made the front office person come and apologize to me for misinforming me. I do not believe she misinformed me. She told me the same thing the male dentist told me and I was expecting to leave that day with my replacement dentures. The female dentist then made impressions with the putty (was this not what they were telling me had come in?) to size them and sent those off with a brand new order. The dentures she ordered took another 3-4 weeks to come in with the wax plate and then 8 weeks (I work from home so the teeth issue wasn't that critical except when I had online meetings). When they finally came in, they were huge. They look like horse's teeth and are way too big for my mouth. The other dentist had to use a child's template because of my small mouth. The color was wrong on them as well. I had ordered a bright white and they were a dingy white. I was told if I changed the color, it would be yet another 8 weeks. It was their mistake! I was not happy at all. There was no filing down the top gum of the denture and nothing other than putting them on and I was told I could leave. The gum part of the plate is too tall and makes it hard to close my mouth without looking like I have a mouthful of something. I had to pay out $400 for this top plate denture that was not what I ordered and was/is way too big for my mouth. I don't know what kind of office issues are going on there, but I was blatantly lied to about the order process and it seems the dentists were having a battle of the ego. The young lady who sits at the front window and the one who called me is not at fault and I resent the fact that she was forced to apologize for doing something she was told to do. Whatever happened to what is best for the patient? I now am going to look for a dentist who will listen to me and at least let me know if I am still a good candidate for dental implants. I just hope there is no bone loss that will require additional surgery and costs that I wouldn't have had if I'd gotten what I wanted earlier. Great Expressions advertises for dental implants, but they sure aren't behind selling them. I won't be back to Great Expressions. read more

I recently scheduled an appointment for dental cleaning with their Mesquite location (1515 North Town East Blvd. Ste. 215 Mesquite, TX 75150). I was not allowed to even meet with a hygenist. They took my X-rays & told me I had pressure on my teeth and needed an expensive custom night guard - I do not grind my teeth nor do I have any such issues & I asked if I could use an OTC night guard & they said their expensive custom option was much longer lived though they refused to estimate the difference or the life length of the custom option or explain why it was better. I've never had such a thing recommended. Next, Dr. Natalie Lesnikovskaya said I have advanced gingivitis based on a cursory 5 min exam. This has never come up, even a few months ago at another Great Expressions location, I was told I had no cavities & this dentist told me I had 3+ "terrible cavities we need to address today". She also told me that I needed a replacement for my 'leaky crown' - thing is, I do not have a crown. I have a filling, only one that is not white but she didn't seem to understand. They gave me multiple thousand dollar 'treatment plans' to address concerns I did not have plus a $600, 3 appointment plan to 'cure my terrible gingivitis'. As I was waiting for the dentists 'manager' to explain the possible thousands of dollars I could 'pick one option between the two' of, she asked me to sign all these forms - each listed me as the guarantor. While I was waiting (it was about 9:15 am at this stage & I'd been there since 8 am. I was able to hear other patients getting told about night guards & their gingivitis. This just felt like an outright scam. I paid my copay for this appointment while not even receiving the promised cleaning. I was called & told I will also need to pay for the non-covered dental cancer screening for $29. While receiving this screening (using a light), Dr Natalia Lesnikovskaya told me I really need to stay out of the sun because my skin looks 'bad'. I was truly taken aback by the constant unprofessionalism throughout this experience. I am worried they are scamming people. I refused to sign the papers (the 'manager' of the dentist said they were "not contracts, just agreements?" where I was listed as the guarantor) & was then told to meet her at the front desk where I paid my copay & then left. I spoke to others in the field & it seems this place is well-known already. read more

I love this place! My son gets checkups every 6 months and I had my wisdom teeth removed here as well. I really like the staff and the dentist, Dr. Choi. The entire office is clean, well decorated and relaxing. I think the prices are very fair and the care that I received during and after my surgery really made the process smooth. Dr. Choi was available to me on call when I needed him and even called in a refill for more meds when I ran low and did not require another visit prior to follow up. My son loves getting his teeth checked and he is already used to going so no fears! Griselda at the front desk is always super sweet when I check in and we also interact quite a bit by phone. Great Expressions Dental Centers - Waiting in comfy chair before surgery - General Dentistry Near Me - Mesquite, Texas

If you are looking for some nice ladies to clean your teeth every six months, then this is the place for you. If you need any sort of major work done, you should consider an office with more experienced dentists, better office communication and one that understands that benefits reset each year. This location has some young dentists (fresh out of school), whom I've realized are sorely lacking experience in the major work category of dentistry. In addition, it was made crystal clear, (or so I thought) that we were pushing to use all remaining 2016 benefits by the end of the year, but instead, the office though it would be a good idea to bring me in for a seating on the 4th day of 2017 (even though the work was done on Dec 9th) and now I have zero benefits for 2017. Complain to someone? They will just look at you like you're dumb because there's literally nothing they can do to make it right. If you need any major work done, filings, crowns, dentures....go somewhere with more experience. (Note the dates on the GOOD reviews as well. This place was NOT always owned by Great Expressions Dental. When Dr. Choi was there back in 2013, it was owned by another group. ZERO STARS. Most unprofessional dental office I have ever been to in all of my 26 years of living. These people numbed my mouth and then unexpectedly had an "emergency" and had to close the office. I didn't get any of the work done I was scheduled for and I left being unable to feel my mouth. I couldn't eat or drink for 6 HOURS. That's how long it took to wear off. The following day my mouth was sore from all the times they stuck that needle in my mouth. They didn't reach out to me to reschedule another appointment either. But I would never ever return to this place. Their customer service sucks & they are very rude. DO NOT come here! read more

Spent over $2K for two root canals. Dr Tavares assured me after the teeth completely healed they would no longer bother me. I will say I am not in the excruciating pain I once was in however they both still bother me and it's been over a year. I feel I've spent entirely too much money for her to not take my concerns seriously and do something to correct the issue. I'm know being forced to take my business else where. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!!!! ESPECIALLY FOR ORTHODONIST!!!! I stayed with them for so long because I really liked the Ortho Team. The Ortho team changed and I just could not take it anymore. They would ALWAYS screw up my appointment dates ( I have 2 kids in braces ) if I had to cancel or if they called me saying they need to cancel it would take a whole 4 to 6 weeks later to reschedule. If I could put zero stars I would. This place was a disaster. Went here a month or two ago and it was the worst experience. We were there for almost 3 hours for my son and I. They separated us, I had no clue what was going on with him. While they were looking at my teeth after the X-rays they didn't even give me a cleaning. Someone came in and stated I had a few cavities and I may have gum disease. That I need to schedule something to get that worked on. When thy finally finished with me, still no cleaning was done. I went to see my son. They stated he had 8 cavities which would be around $1400. He's 9 and has never once had a cavity. I knew something was wrong. They were so adamant about setting up an appointment. I wanted to get a second opinion and took him to Texas Dentistry in Mesquite. Great experience. The dentist stated he had two that were a possibility that if he flossed they could go away. That we just needed to monitor them. I knew something wasn't right. Money hungry company. WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN OR RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. read more

I was a little hesitant of using a dentist in a strip mall, and although the office isn't fancy, it is clean, the staff is friendly and they do excellent work ! They don't overbook , so wait times are kept to a minimum. I've had cleanings, fillings, and even a crown with no issues ---pain free, quality work at an affordable price! read more

I was very pleased with Mesquite Dental Practice. This was my first visit with them and I'm so glad I found them. I called to tell them that I was probably going to be a little late due to unforeseen traffic. They were so nice and offered to reschedule me. When I called back and said I thought I could be there in about 10-15 minutes, they allowed me to still keep my appointment. The ladies upfront were very sweet, my hygienist was wonderful, and the dentist was great. They had a TV out front and music playing during my cleaning and exam, which I love. I am giving this place a low rating because of their billing department. It all started back in July of 2016 when they never submitted a claim to my insurance. I found this out when I ask for my first statement in Jan. 2017 when it showed a 0 payment made from my insurance and the words from the billing coordinator if your insurance pays this is what you owe. So I asked what do you mean if my insurance pays? Have you not received a payment and she said no. So after having to be pushy and state don't you think my insurance would of denied or paid after this long she replied yes with a blank face and basically I had to look at her and said then we should call the insurance an ask if they receive a claim. The billing coordinator never did so I had to do all the follow up with my insurance and them. So it is now 4 months and I am still trying to make sure this is fixed on 3/13/2017 Guelmarys Ortiz sent me a wrong statement for one child and I have asked her twice to send me the correct child's statement. I have even submitted a complain with the BBB and they still have not responded with the correct statement for one of my children. Obviously they don't care about customer service or if they bill you correctly. read more

Today was my first visit to Mesquite Dental Care and I was very impressed. The staff was friendly and made me feel at ease right away. When the doctor was explaining what needed to be done, he explained in a way that I could understand, which for me, is a huge plus. read more

We love mesquite dental. Great staff and dentist. Quick appointments with no waiting makes this our favorite dental office ever.

My husband and I have been using the Mesquite location for 2 years now. The staff there is very considerate and thorough. The best part is we pay less for the both of us in a year than we use to pay for one of us with dental insurance. We've never had any pressure to have more services done. I took a family member to another dentist just last week for a filling that cost over $200. My price was $85. You just cannot beat this place! read more
