So I went twice with my cousin and my mother. The food was amazing and what not but the staff makes you wonder if you're deserving of customer service. When in the line I asked if they had soup, which I should've known they didn't because it was on the board they have you look at in the line. But when I asked the simple question I was told- "We don't have soup...Why would you even think that we would in mid summer?" Then looked at me like I had just insulted her mother. I then digress and order. Then the lady gets done ringing us up and lets us go. There's no holding the line at all by the way, so it's every man for himself when it comes to seating. We were floating around the drink area for a bit before these people got out of there seats, we then go towards the table and my cousin sits in one of the chairs while I stand next to her to save our spots when this worker comes up behind us and asks- "Did you uh...want that cleaned off or...?" My cousin looks over at her and says- "Yea...please?" The worker stares us down as she cleans the table and walks off. Ya'll... I literally work at a restaurant that's even worse on Sundays than it was a Sunday at this Great Harvest. I see every single person that walks through the doors on my shifts and I know how to be nice to people and have nice fun customer service. This Great Harvest does not know what customer service is. I get mad at work a lot so I get it. The burn outs of talking to folks, the math when running register, etc, etc... but when I do get to that point I still fake it till I make it!It's also literally the easiest job you can have when the size of the restaurant is a cafe and the clientele is mostly really nice folks. Crack a joke when speaking to customers at LEAST or don't make people feel like they're doing something wrong by customizing people's orders they way they want. Seriously your jobs are to be nice, if you can't do that, go find some place else to work. read more

DON'T GO ON SAT. OR SUN.! I appreciate their being closed to allow a break in a work that runs up oo fast. Every carb I've eaten here is delicious! I love their soup, salads and sandwiches. Their specialty items really are special and I would open one of my very own if I could! read more

Order was INCOMPLETELY WRONG i called and spoke to someone over the phone the day before and she informed me to come back the following day to have the sandwiches I ordered remade correctly. i called today to let them know i was coming by because that is what the young woman mentioned to me previously about picking up my sandwiches. So trying to explain it over the phone, this young girl had a attitude and cut me off and just kept asking "are you ordering a sandwich or not" so when i tried to explain i was coming to pick up a order that was incomplete yesterday and she continued to cut me off so i asked to speak to a manager and she hung up in my face. So i headed to the store to speak to a manager about the young lady on the phone call but i spoke to the OWNER INSTEAD and she was very dismissive and just as rude and RAISED HER VOICE & wouldn't hear what happened to me. If i could give ZERO STARS I WOULD. They have very NASTY ATTITUDES AND ARE VERY SNOBBY. Seems like to me they only care about the palm colored customers. I will not be eating here any more nor spending my money to ungreatful, racist, nasty attituded people. 2 OUT OF 10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. I said what i said. read more

This place is great indeed! Great breads, muffins, scones, rolls, and other cool pastries to choose from- all of which were so fresh and soft!! The cinnamon roll was not too sweet, but perfect for a morning pastry. The chocolate chip pumpkin muffin was so moist- it officially felt like fall after eating it hehe Fyi, they let you sample their breads! They give huge slices as samples. I tried their loaf with white chocolate chips and cranberries (talk about unique options) It was quite possibly the tastiest bread ever! And it was warm too (yay I just love freshly baked bread!!!) This place has a very cute and cozy ambience. It's the kind of place you'd want to go to and relax as you eat on a lazy Saturday morning~ ... If you don't have time for that, then maybe you can just stop by for a quick coffee and pastry before you head over to work? It's ok. I think I was expecting a lot better after the great reviews posted on yelp. I got the garden salad which didn't have much of anything. Just lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and croutons. My son had a turkey club. He said it was pretty good. We got an iced sugar cookie. It was super sweet. A lil too much or my liking. The atmosphere and the iced tea were good. We sat outdoors since I have my dog w me, and they did let me have ice water for my doggy. I'll come back to try a sandwich and do an update if it's any better read more

Was really good. Employees were nice and considerate towards my needs. Food was delicious. I didn't wait long at all! My main goal to be here though was to work on my laptop. I had called ahead of time to make sure they did have WiFi. They said yes. Once I was there they gave me a piece of paper with instructions (which is nice) but apparently there's no WiFi available around 12-1? And you only get 1 hour... It'd be nice if there were no restrictions on the use of WiFi. I guess it's just different in NC? Either way place is FANTASTIC to come and eat at with a friend or 2. 3 visits over 2 months. The good: bathroom was decently clean & stocked, seating was spaced & actually clean. The food is okay, nothing I would go days craving. Baked goods are old & stale. Customer service is decent but each person seems to have a bit of a bad attitude. And they stand there at the counter & gossip. 2 of my 3 visits I did end up feeling sick to my stomach a couple hours after eating here. GHB is a gem in Goldsboro. It's nice having this fresh option as a lunch spot. I have ate at several locations (though they are all independently owned) and Goldsboro is personally my favorite. I love their Turkey Chile Cheddar Melt and Chicken Salad Sandwich. Their breads make perfect gifts, too. read more

This is a great place to find healthy food in Goldsboro. During the week they offer a menu of sandwiches, salads, soups and bakery goodies such as brownies, cookies and scones. Everything is made fresh daily and they grind the wheat for their bread every morning. I also found other items like coffee, infused oils, whipped honey, tshirts and cooking accessories. There were free samples of brownies and scones that were generously large. I was very excited to find a place that offers and promotes healthy food. I bought their regular coffee, whipped peach honey, and a loaf of their specialty cheddar garlic bread. It wasn't sliced, but the person helping me behind the counter offered to slice it by hand for me before I left. I also tried a big, free brownie sample that was delicious. They were very friendly and helpful and I am looking forward to having lunch here one day soon. read more

There are no words I can type to give this place justice. Awesome place for breads and all types of sweets. I have not had the sandwiches yet but I could only imagine some fresh slices turkey on two slices of fresh home made bread. Worth every penny. Best rolls I've had. Peach scones was incredible. This place opened up the month we arrived in Goldsboro. We first tried Great Harvest back home in Hawaii and were big fans of their cinnamon chip bread. I love that you can sample stuff before you try it and they are quite generous with their sample portions as well. My favorites are their blueberry scones, salted caramel cookies, cheddar garlic bread and cinnamon chip bread. I tried their cinnamon rolls for the first time today and those are pretty freaking awesome. It has the homemade taste without having to do a ton of work to achieve. For sandwiches, I've only tried their California Cobb. It was good but I literally got essence of avocado in the sandwich which kinda sucked since the fact that it had avocado in it was the only reason I chose that sandwich vs. another. read more

I went to the Great Harvest Bread Co. on Ash St. and it was amazing! It's a quaint little restaurant environment with outside and indoor seating. You can smell the bread from just outside the door! I ordered the California Cobb sandwich on Honey wheat, and it tasted amazing. The bread was fresh and soft, the bacon was cooked perfectly and had wonderful flavor. The bleu cheese spread is not overpowering at all, and the avocado goes wonderfully well with the sandwich. I recommend calling ahead (around 10:30am to order) just because they get a lot of business especially around the lunch hour. Overall, amazing! Definitely going back! read more

I like this bakery's sweets but the customer service is very bad. Well, especially bad towards black customers rather than white ones... just saying. The employee was very rude towards black customers and had a a change of attitude when a white person would step in. Almost perfect! Sandwiches and breads are fabulous. Disappointed that I was made to purchase the prepackaged lemon squares today. I used to be able to pick which ones I wanted, but not today. The food is good but the service is completely unorganized and very not geared towards customer service. I called my order in, prepaid, walked into the store and stood there on acknowledged for quite some time. I understand that you can't stop what you're doing to help me, but the least you can do is acknowledge my presence and let me know you'll get to me. I mean even when you walk into Walmart half across the store they yell to you welcome to Walmart. Even my daughter who's 9 years old was like Mom I don't think they plan to help you That is how long we waited for , not service but for somebody to acknowledge us. And then the cashier had to ask us how was everything and I think she wanted a faulty answer no everything isn't great you could have acknowledged me, I'm sorry I'm not from here I am a firm believer in giving the truth. And then somebody else had overheard me telling her and they also didn't like what I was saying and of course they nodded and said oh that's not our standard and then sent me on my way. This was my first time coming here so definitely left a terrible taste in my mouth because what type of customer service is this..... you could have the best food in the world but when you have terrible customer service and treat people this way especially when they're trying to give you critiques.......
