Our group of four really enjoyed our experience at Great Harvest Bread. The staff who helped us were very nice. There were so many options it was hard to pick (which is not a bad thing). We each got a sandwich and loved each one. We each got a loaf of bread for home. We ate our sandwiches here and it was a good time. I got my favorite cookies - oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. This place actually took me by surprise! I have seen them around, but never tried it and I'm so glad I did! All their breads are made in house and just fresh ingredients. You walk in they offer you a free slice of b bread of your choice! They serve lunch there they have delicious options. You can buy loaves there or you could buy gift baskets for gifts! We have been purchasing and eating Great Harvest Bread for many years, and have always loved coming to this Provo location. However, after the change in ownership, the quality of the bread, especially the Beehive White, has been "hit and miss". Every once in a while we get a good loaf that is reminiscent of the past, but for the most part the bread is dry and doesn't have the same delicious flavor. I walk in and get four or five loaves for a work party--we like bread and jams, okay?--and they hit me with the most important question I've been asked since my wife proposed to me: would you like a free slice? I've grown up loving Great Harvest bread (Oat Bran and Dakota are my favorites) but just tried their cafe for the first time and was impressed. The Turkey Cranberry sandwich was good. The bread quality is just so much better than Kneaders or any other sandwich place. The owners seem like such nice, down to earth people too. They were both there when I came in and they were so friendly to everyone, even offering free pastries and breads to this girl they knew that came in. We don't like it much when our hamburger buns fall apart when eating them. Like I said, they are the very best we have ever eaten. All our kids told us how much they enjoyed them as well. We would give the owner/baker of these hamburger buns an A+ and highly recommend Great Harvest in American Fork without any reservation. The bread is unbeatable! As a former employee of Great Harvest, I know for a fact that each type of bread is made fresh daily. If you come in around 10:30 am, usually the savory breads are coming right out of the oven so you can pick up a warm, fresh loaf of bread! The best savory bread, in my opinion, is the cracked light wheat bread. It is a combination of white and wheat bread, so it's the best of both worlds! A slice of that, warmed with butter and honey, is truly a slice of heaven. Some other Great Harvest classics include the honey whole wheat bread and the pumpkin chocolate chip bread. Great Harvest also offers fun and decadent seasonal breads such as the red, white, and blueberry bread for the 4th of July, apple cinnamon for fall, chocolate cherry for Valentine's Day, and many more. We ended up having some sandwiches from this company catered for a work meeting and they were good, don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy them. If you need crazy quality bread for your sandwich I guess this is your place, but sandwiches normally use bread to showcase the parts between the bread and the bread itself is a bit of an afterthought. The food within the bread was good, but not something I would ever pay for. In fact, I tend to make similar quality sandwiches for myself every day, I just bring the ingredients in a grocery bag for work. First and foremost this place has amazing bread, everyone always raves about Kneaders, but for my money Great Harvest is where its at. When I have to bring some kind of treat to work I stop here and get a loaf of fancy bread and a jar of jam and it's always a huge hit. And there's a bonus slice with butter or honey with every purchase, so I always make sure to take advantage of that. When I want a fast, light lunch but don't want to feel hungry in an hour I stop in and get a slice of bread from Great Harvest and a smoothie from the Jamba Juice, a few doors down. It's seriously a fantastic lunch and I never feel guilty about it later. Now on to things that do make you feel guilty: the sweets! I ADORE their sugar cookies and snickerdoodles, my mother is all about their cinnamon rolls and everyone I've asked raves about the jam. You basically can't go wrong with anything from the baked goods rack. Not everything is great though, their sandwiches are... not good. I don't understand how but somehow they've gone really really wrong here. It makes sense to have sandwiches in the same place where you sell bread but these? Youd think that a place that makes high quality baked goods would get high quality sandwich fixins too but they seem to have punked out on that. Amid Covid, I understand if businesses are slow or if there's an occasional mistake- but the service at this place was just plainly terrible. Without a single person in line, I waited while two of the workers finished having a conversation in front of me before the cashier came and helped me with my order- I got the pumpkin bread rolls, which were excellent, however the soup I ordered was not prepared or ready to go at all, and after waiting 10 minutes at a quick bakery, I watched as a worker stuck a thermometer in the chicken to make sure it was cooked all the way. Who prepares a soup with raw chicken in it?? I lost my appetite after a couple of bites because it was so salty, and I was scared it'd have raw meat in it. I've come here before and just gotten some loaves of bread, and it was excellent! Just don't come here for the service or the soup is my advice. read more

I ended up getting the chicken sandwich on spinach cheese bread with avacado. YUMMY!! IT was the perfect mix of wet ingredients to bread, Bravo!! I got a half sandwich and it was just the right amount with the pickle spear and bag of sunchips. I also bought a bag of 6 giant gingersnap cookies from heaven. These weren't just some showy big cookie that tastes like crap. These must have been made with love. They were moist but didn't fall apart, and had just the right amount of ginger bit.
