After a long day at Six Flags Magic Mountain, we wanted a full sit down meal and Great Indian Kitchen had some amazing reviews. We were greeted with complimentary crackers and some kind of chutney. It was really good and we enjoyed it! I have never received any kind of complimentary item at an Indian restaurant to welcome us, so this started off a great note. And the tasty chutney really set the tone as well. * Gol Gappe (8 pieces) $9.95 - We've had variations of this dish but what really stood out was their sour and spicy mint flavored water. That is beyond delicious! I literally drank it all up and have been trying desperately to find recipes on how to make it. It was SO good. * Masala Dosa $15.95 - This was pretty good and it's served with a spiced potato curry. We ended up ordering a second one. * Lamb Curry $19.95 - This was good stuff on basmati rice or with naan. * Bhindi Ki Sabzi $17.95 - It was our first time having this classic Punjabi dish and it was good as well. * Garlic Naan $4.95 * Basmati $6.95 Food overall was really enjoyable and I think often of that flavored water that accompanied the gol gappe. Service was okay. We sat at a rectangular four top and I found it annoying how the younger server would bring items over my shoulder when there was a more obvious open space for him to serve us. I think this is a basic training issue that could be fixed. There is a 3% surcharge for using credit cards. 4.5 stars

We drove out from Burbank on a perfect, light traffic Memorial Day evening, based on the great reviews, and they didn't disappoint! It's a cute little place with Bollywood clips on one tv and Cricket on another. Service was good and great conversation with the charming Manu. We had a delicious Dahi Puri, Samosas, chicken Tikka Madala, Chicken Korma, Basmati and Naan. Everything was great, and my wife even proclaimed it was maybe the best Korma, ever! This is a little gem that I highly recommend!

Wow. It's difficult to come by good Indian food, but this place is really good. Went around 3 pm, after buffet style was over. Restaurant had one other person inside, service was quick and attentive. Interior was decent and had some hanging plants around the sides. Let's get to the food. Started off with some little fried like chips with a garlic paste sauce that was on the house, really tasty! Vegetable Samosa - 10/10 DELICIOUS! Spiced absolutely perfectly! Genuinely really good, and the sauce was extremely tasty (really loved the red one specifically, I think it's tamarind?). Interesting shape too. I wish you guys would make chicken samosas too, could take it to a 10000/10! Lamb Saag - 8/10 Really good! The lamb was quite good, not chewy (which is hard to come by). Could have been a little more tender, and the sauce itself could have been a bit creamier, but very solid. Garlic naan - 9/10 It's good garlic naan, enough said! Onion Kulcha - 8/10 Tasty onion kulcha! Lachha Paratha - 8/10 Good buttery flaky bread Ginger Ice Cream - 10/10 GET THIS, SO GOOD! Didn't expect to like it as I don't particularly care for ginger, but both gf and I LOVED IT! Get this! Kheer - 3/10 (GF rating 8/10) Never had this before, but for a rice pudding was not expecting this. Was extremely watery, like soupy. Definitely thought it would be thicker. Cardamom flavor was far too strong as well, not my thing. Gf loved it though! In fact she thought it paired great with the ginger ice cream.

I went to the lunch buffet here last summer because I kept seeing the signage and wanted to try it out. The building was pretty spacious. Seats weren't densely packed so it feels like there is a lot of room. I came on and got seated immediately. The buffet had a lot of vegetarian/vegan options. I went for the vegetable biryani, saag paneer, chicken pakora, chicken tikka masala, lamb vindaloo, and vegetable korma. Garlic naan was not a part of the buffet spread but was delivered separately by the waiter. It had a good garlic flavor and was warm but not too buttery. I liked the vegetable biryani and the vegetable korma. The korma was tender and very flavorful. The saag paneer tasted a bit off to me and my first plate of chicken masala was a bit dry. After they refilled the chicken masala, I got another serving and it was much better and more tender. They also had a small desert selection but it was nothing to write home about. I also saw a dead cockroach outside the bathroom door but I think it just crawled in from outside to escape the heat and died. Overall I think what makes this place attractive is the value. The buffet is pretty affordable and allows you to fill yourself up with a variety of food.

I only stopped by for a quick takeout order, but I have to say the service was great. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, even though I was just picking up food to go. I ordered the aloo tikki appetizer, and it was okay, not bad, but not something that really stood out to me. I'd still like to come back and give this place another try because the service definitely left a good impression.

Pro tip: bring cash as they charge a 3% surcharge on the final amonut (after tax and tip) for credit cards This is an affordable spot for Indian lunch buffet with delicious food! They offer the lunch buffet 11-3 everyday. When we went on Tuesday around noon, it wasn't that crowded with only 2-3 other tables occupied. On weekdays, the buffet costs $17.95 per person and comes with your choice of chai or soft drink. On weekends (Fri to Sun), it costs $19.95 per person, and in addition to the chai or soft drink, you can opt for a glass of champagne as well. They had a good selection of veg and non-veg dishes along with an assortment of chutneys and raita. On the day I went, they had the following mains, to give you an idea of their selection: biryani - vegetarian and chicken chicken tikka masala chicken curry fish vindaloo tandoori chicken dal makhani rajma (kidney bean) shahi paneer mixed veg curry pakora - veg and chicken My favorites were the chicken tikka masala, the chicken curry, the rajma / kidney bean curry, and the mixed veg curry. The tandoori chicken was good as well. As for the others, the fish vindaloo was too spicy for me, the dal makhani bland, and the gravy for the shahi paneer was too sweet. You can also order plain or garlic naan to eat with lunch in addition to the basmati rice and poori available at the buffet. They offer fresh fruit, so I ended my meal with orange slices, but they also have Indian desserts like kheer (rice pudding) and halwa. Service was good. Because it was never super busy in the restaurant, the servers checked on us often and collected finished plates. They also refilled waters / soft drinks quickly as well.

Absolutely blown away by this place. We ordered the shrimp chaat, samosa, rack of lamb, and goat curry -- and every single dish felt so special. Usually with Indian food, you kind of have an idea of what flavors to expect before the food even comes out. But this restaurant surprised me in the best way possible. The flavors were incredibly unique, bold, and layered in a way that felt much more authentic and exciting than the typical Indian restaurants around here. It honestly felt like the kind of food you'd discover at a vibrant street market in India. The shrimp chaat was packed with flavor and texture, the samosas were perfectly crispy, the rack of lamb was tender and beautifully seasoned, and the goat curry was rich, comforting, and unforgettable. On top of the amazing food, the restaurant was very clean, the atmosphere felt welcoming, and everyone was genuinely kind and attentive. You can tell there's real passion behind the food here. Definitely one of the most memorable Indian food experiences I've had in a long time.

If I could give 6 stars, I would. Sahej was so hospitable, greeted us as soon as we walked in and got the 6 of us sat. We felt like family-- and every single item we ordered on the menu was made with the utmost care, bursting with flavor. We ordered so many things to family-style-- and I can confidently say you can't go wrong with any of it here. The ambiance is a beautifully, warm lit atmosphere with bursts of color (pictured)-- I love how much thoughtfulness is placed in the space. Wheelchair accessible, located in a strip mall with tons of parking. We came here after our Six Flags trip and plan to make this our stop on the way home every time we go! I went here yesterday and it's $20 for the lunch buffet, which is a steal. It includes a glass of champagne, hot, chai tea, or rose milk tea, all that you can get iced or hot. Service was very friendly. The garlic naan was like the best I've had. Even their plain chicken they noted doesn't have food coloring and it sure tasted delicious! I had two huge plates and I was so full. The place was very clean, which I appreciate and that includes the bathroom.

Back again- this is my favorite local spot for Indian food and love coming here for a solo meal! Amazing food and great service! Love that the patio is dog-friendly. Their samosas are unmatched and the lunch specials are a fantastic deal- great portions! I look forward to trying their lunch buffet which rotates specials each day :)

My boyfriend and I were craving Indian food before we went back home to the valley and we found this place. Safe to say my craving was fulfilled. Every was a 12/10 and the service here was so good. With every bite, it was followed with a "omg this is so good." This place is so good. We ordered samosas, aloo tikki, mango lassi, butter chicken with garlic naan and masala dosa. I was even able to try gol gappe that I've been seeing on my fyp. I really loved how the restaurant was decorated. It gave off an elegant and cozy vibe.

OH MY!! We were driving around SCV for something original...something different than the chain restaurants out in this valley. My favorite food is Indian food. Endulge once a week in this beautiful cuisine. Fell in love years ago in Queens, NY. Have tasted many, many Indian restaurants around the country's best cities. Stumbled across this gem. We ordered the Saag Paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala, Garlic Naan, Samosa, and Rice...all to go. Absolutely incredible! The layers of flavors, vibrancy, and freshness were over the top....and this was a pick up order! It is the best Indian food I have had...almost anywhere! The food remained piping hot, packaged with care, and delightful when we got home. The chutneys were amazing alone....the richness of the masala and paneer...without words.... pillows of rice and naan that cannot disappoint! I cannot wait to dine in and enjoy the warmth everyone keeps raving about this restaurant and family. I even downloaded their mobile app as I already know I will be here weekly. Wow! read more

We had a great experience here! The Indian buffet was delicious with so many fresh, flavorful options to choose from. Everything was well-prepared and constantly replenished. Standouts included the chicken tikka masala, palak paneer, fluffy naan, fragrant basmati rice, and perfectly spiced vegetable curries. The food was warm, comforting, and full of authentic flavor, and there was something for everyone. On top of that, the service was excellent--friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout our visit. Stopped by for lunch and got the lunch special Chicken Tikka Masala plate. Food was great and staff/owner was very nice! Good portions for a good price, I was able to get 2 meals out of it! Came in a nice tray with a seal. I placed the order through their website and asked for changes to my order such as: I'd like roti instead naan and sugar on the side for my tea and those requests were followed to T, they even added different types of sweetener which was a nice touch. Not many places care to make substitutions or care to make things to order such as the tea with no sugar. Thank you and I would definitely come back! I will say tho, the chicken quality was a bit questionable as mentioned in other reviews - some of the pieces were dark so i will take a star off for that, pls make improvements to this and cut the pieces smaller, some were too big. read more

all of the food is super yummy and the staff are very friendly! they were so great about answering our questions. we came for the buffet, and it was worth it. they had 8 different curries and about 5 non-curry options, as well as fruit, rice, and dessert. they have free soft drinks and house-made drinks. they said it was a rotating menu, so new things are made every day. overall, yummy food and a great environment! read more

Homemade Indian food direct from grandma's kitchen. Great Indian Kitchen, family owned and operated is the first and only Indian food in SCV that I crave. Upon dining in, the lovely family takes so great care of their guests and are so attentive throughout the whole sitting. You can tell how much they love providing SCV with their home cooking. This is not an exaggeration either, as grandma is the chef in charge in the kitchen for all of this delicious food. Having been in the SCV Hub, they have been secretly serving for quite a while, but I did not hear of Great Indian Kitchen until they opened up their own standalone restaurant. Now I've been multiple times for dining in and take out and everything is so delicious each time. If it's your first time, the tandoori mixed grill is a great item to share for the table so you all taste the various tandoori grilled meats. Make sure you try them with the green chutney!However, you can't beat any of their curries either. They are all remarkable. Chicken Tikka Masala is always a winner, but the Chicken Makhni was so delicious this last time too. I'm hitting the Lamb Rogan Josh next time. Add a curry with the Rice of the Day and a Garlic Naan or Onion Kulcha and you're in heaven. To drink, they have a delicious drink called Nimbu Pani. It was so refreshing. That said, they also have a nice list of Indian beers, my favorite being HIT. It was truly a "hit". Go ahead and book a table and treat yourself to an epic family dinner at the Great Indian Kitchen. read more

My family tried Great Indian Kitchen for the first time and we were super impressed. We did the lunch buffet which was delicious. The food was fresh and such a great variety. We have tried various indian buffets and I think this is now our favorite. Most times my toddler won't eat the at other indian restaurants because they are too spicy. This place had the perfect amount of spice that even my toddler can handle. Service was amazing. They were all super nice and extremely attentive. We never even had to ask for more water or bread because they anticipated our needs. The restaurant is also super clean and has a welcoming/clean ambiance. We cant wait to be back. read more

Wow this place is the real deal.. first time stopping by was greeted by a sweet young lady who told me everything is made from her grandmothers recipe.. the smell is what brought me in truth be told lol.. I opted for the lunch buffet and wow sooooo goood!!!! The chicken Marsala was so delicious and the fact they make you fresh naan bread in the back and bring it to your table.. 10/10 will definitely be back.. read more

Came here before the new year and was pretty excited. We saw a sign up stating that there was going to be a lunch buffet coming soon for the new year! We found out from our server that they've recently relocated to this new location a couple of weeks ago and he was also very attentive in asking us whether we needed anything, on how the food tasted, and giving us water. The inside was spacious and fresh-feeling, and it looks great and ideal for large family gatherings as well. We got the lunch specials (served from 11pm-3pm) that were reasonably priced and they came in a nice tray that separated entrees, rice, salad, and sauces from each other. I enjoyed the Chicken Makhni lunch and my boyfriend got the Chicken Tikka Masala lunch. We also decided to order a bowl of Chicken Soup and for us, it tasted very watered down and didn't taste ingredients that we thought we would that we even asked to make sure if it was the correct soup. I'd definitely say that soup missed its mark on us and to note that if you want a light, bland soup to go with that. For dessert we were reccommended on the Gulab Jamun, which were two chewy and interestingly warm syrupy ball-shapes. It was yummy and little, which was great for a small treat to end our meals. All in all, we were satisfied by the balanced portions of our lunch meals and felt full afterwards, minus the experience with the soup. Hope to come here again when we are in the area and feeling for some more Indian cuisine! read more

We've been ordering take out from this place when they were at the SCV Hub and today we dined in for the first time. First off, the food here is absolutely delicious. It never disappoints. The Paneer Tika Masala is divine and the Paneer Saag is incredibly tasty...these are just some of our go-to items. I will say the service is quite wonderful too. Everyone is so nice and they took a shine to my 3 year old. They were kind enough to bring him some chocolate ice cream and mango lassi, which he loved. Honestly, a great place. You can't find a better Indian food in SCV. This place is a win! read more

I will start off by saying, WOW!! From the moment we walked in the door and were greeted by Sahej, throughout the meal and service, everything was an absolute pleasure. We were presented with pita chips and chutney to start. I knew right away, if the rest of the meal was as good as the chutney was, we were going to be in for a fantastic experience. We ordered Shrimp Pakora for an appetizer. Though I was not aware this was going to be breaded and fried, it was more like a tempura coating, so not anything to complain about. The flavor profile was such a compliment with the shrimp, and was cooked to perfection. I decided to try their Lamb Karahi, while my wife ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala. We also ordered their Chicken Naan and chose the plain Basmati Rice to use with our main meal. Both of our main dishes had a slight spicy kick, but not overwhelming. Again, the flavors were absolutely amazing! The Chicken Naan was so delicious, we ordered another helping to go, before we closed out our tab. All of this was enjoyed with a bottle of their Sauvignon Blanc ( Pierre Chainier 1749) which went well with all offerings. Now, to talk about the service and attentiveness... This has to be one of the best staff experiences we have ever encountered. Prompt service with filling of the water glasses and providing us with the "tapas" type of beginning. They gave us enough time to view the menu and decide, without being overbearing or neglectful. Throughout the course of our dinner, we were checked on by Sahej, another nice young gentleman (possibly a brother?), the mother, the father?, and the best part by Manu. She came to the table once to check on us, but the second time produced a very pleasant conversation. While waiting for our left-overs to be boxed up (yes, they don't bring you containers for self-service!), and our additional order of Chicken Naan, she brought us a couple chocolate dipped strawberries, hand-dipped by herself. It was nice to have such a personable experience for our very first time. I chose this restaurant based on the amount of positive reviews I had seen, and I am so grateful we had a full 5 Star experience, so I could write this very deserved review. We have found a favorite restaurant in this cuisine category, and will surely be returning. Me and my friend came here just now for the first time. Be authenticity quality and deliciousness of the food is highly on point. Has the pictures shown with this review, you can tell how good the quality is. I definitely would suggest coming here for any and all Indian food. They have a full menu with lots of drinks. We had the fish Tikka that was so good steaming on a hot plate with fresh onions and bell peppers. It came with a little cup of mint chutney sauce that you could also tell was fresh. We got two dishes. Chicken tikka masala and yogurt saffron chicken curry which was really good. You could actually taste the yogurt. Then of course we had rice and garlic naan bread. What's a difference with this place is the use actual garlic on the bread instead of powder. You can actually see the garlic on the actual piece of bread. Again I give it full five stars read more

I recently ordered and I am extremely disappointed with the experience. Despite clearly expressing my need for a dish without any spicy ingredients due to my autoimmune condition, the restaurant failed to accommodate my request. As a result, I am now suffering from a flare-up. Not only did the restaurant neglect to remove the spice that causes my medical issue, but it's unacceptable that they were unable to prioritize my health needs, especially after I made them explicitly aware of my condition. I urge anyone with dietary restrictions or health concerns to avoid dining here. The lack of consideration for customers' well-being is appalling, and I will not be returning to this establishment. Absolutely phenomenal experience at Great Indian Kitchen! The lamb marsala was next-level--perfectly tender, rich, and deeply flavorful with just the right balance of spices. Every bite melted in my mouth. And the garlic & cheese naan? Easily some of the best I've ever had--warm, buttery, loaded with gooey cheese, and finished with just the right amount of garlic. Had the best experience here. Everything on their menu was their grandmother's recipes. Service was great. Manu was my server and she was very helpful and welcoming. She recommended me the Punjabi chicken curry with basmati rice and garlic chilli naan. The chicken was juicy and tender filled with so much flavor and the naan was so soft and flavorful. If you guys want to have authentic indian style cooking then go to Great Indian Kitchen, you wont regret it!!! read more

This restaurant is authentic punjabi place. Always deliver food beyond expectations. I have tried their Samosa, Panner Tikka and Aloo Tikki for appetizers. No artificial food colorings added, very tasty and no compromise on the quality of food. Curries are great, Saag paneer, Paneer masala, Love it! This is my go-to indian food place now in SCV.
