If you like authentic Indian food, look no further than "Great Indian Kitchen." The food was delicious and homemade. The family and mother cook all the food, no food coloring is used. We tried many items from the buffet and every item was just very delicious and outstanding. The Lamb Vindaloo was outstanding and delicious. I have had this dish at other restaurants, but the Lamb Vindaloo here beats them all hands down. Really, really delicious. You've got to try it. I worked in the bay area for nearly a decade where you can find great Indian food in every city with good prices and flavor. When I came back home to Los Angeles, i could not find anything! Great Indian Kitchen does not hold back in flavor or spice. It doesn't feel like it's slopped together. There is love in the food. The staff is nice, the restaurant is clean, the décor is beautiful. Got there just as lunch started and it was a very nice buffet, the first i've seen that offered biryani as an choice. I love biryani. There is also Indian tea included, which i like drinking after a nice lunch. Also, in addition to naan they offer pouri which is a delicious puffy bread. I didn't know what to think ordering from SCV Hub, but I think this place has a loose association with the "lively food hall." The price and selection was fantastic, as well as the quality of the food. Try the Aloo Tikki for an appetizer. Fantastic sweet and earthy spices on a flaky potato pancake. The service was kind, and they processed my very large order in 35 mins. Staff looked a bit stressed, but in all honesty, most food service places in Los Angeles are understaffed so that's regular. I have to call attention to the naan here though. It was moist and rich with flavored garlic, and wasn't dry like many places that over char it. We had a birthday party dinner booked there and they lost our reservations buy still quickly accommodated us. The food and service were great! My daughter doesn't like singing the birthday song but they had a cool song that was recorded and played it over their speakers, our whole party got so into singing it and laughing. They flashed the lights on and off during the song and made it so fun! I would definitely plan a birthday dinner here. We had it in the patio and it made us feel like we had the whole restaurant to ourselves, we had such a great experience. We've been here several times just for dinner and I wanted to try their different dishes, I was disappointed with some of the dishes and I think I should just stick with my usual orders because I love those. Atmosphere is very warm and inviting and it's also worth noting how clean it is. All you can eat places can get a little dicey when it comes to cleanliness but this place is spotless. The buffet was mostly good. The chicken tikka marsala was tasty, but the tandoori chicken was different from what I'm used to. I saw a comment about them staying away from food coloring, but even the flavor wasn't quite there for me. The veggies were solid, the rice was ok.
