Alas, all great trips come to an end, but thankfully many airports have local brewery taprooms for one last beer. Cleveland has a Great Lakes Brewing taproom, a regional staple and one of our favorite brewery visits of the trip. It was conveniently located near our gate, with just a few people inside. The bartender was chipper and friendly for being so early, and got us waters, beers, and took my order. They had a simple breakfast plate, which is all I needed. It was made quickly but with care. Everything tasted great. We sat at the bar, which overlooks the outside, nice lighting and TVs around for any mood. Of course being in an airport, prices are high for what you're getting. But for clean draft beer, good food, and good service, it was a fun end to our trip. read more

Located in the Cleveland-Hopkins airport near the C gates, Great Lakes Brewing seemed like a good place to have a seat and order breakfast before my flight back home. The breakfast menu is kind of sparse, but that is ok as at the moment, I didn't need 100 choices. I landed on the egg, bacon, and cheese sandwich (on a bagel). This came with a side with potatoes as well. The bacon was excellent - cooked perfectly, not too crispy, not too soggy. The bagel was fine, but it was a true plain bagel. I needed to add a lot of cholula sauce to the sandwich. The potatoes were very well seasoned with garlic. They were good, but I only had a few. My server, who was the only server and did double duty as the bartender as well, was very sweet and checked on me quite a few times despite the short staffing. I am positive Great Lakes Brewing has some good beer as they claim and based on their decor, however, I stuck with water before my flight. read more

Great Lakes Brewery has a historic and cozy atmosphere with delicious eats and nice variety of brews as well as spirits. My husband and I attended a Haunted History. Nice location in the main gal of the concourse C headed down to the United gates. Lots of space thought the restaurant is more long than wide meaning the seating area is tight and narrow in places. Bryan the bartender is fabulous. I ordered the Cobb sandwich, with ranch instead of blue cheese dressing. I also got to try the summer shady beer which was good but decided I needed a pick me up so ended up ordering the peanut butter espresso martini on the menu. Super super good. Being able to try and buy 6 packs in the airport for your domestic flight home is awesome and this place you can do that. Was able to get my hands on a couple 6 packs of specialty IPAs that I tasted on draft there and like but were available in my part of the US. Food was also solid . The food, beer and ambiance are amazing. The best local brewery in town covers all your eating and drinking needs. Start with the pretzel or roasted chicken peas. Ask if they have beer cheese soup on the menu that day (it's unreal) and make sure to try the Chicken paprikash perogies. All the sides are great. We loved the Christmas ale roasted carrots and Brussels sprouts. Service is fine but the food and beer make up for it ten fold. read more

Not a bad airport restaurant. When we got here it was packed. The 4 of us were finally seated and we quickly ordered our food knowing our flight would be departing in an hour. Fortunately, the food and bill came quickly. I got chicken tenders and fries. And grilled chicken salad was ordered. All the food was decent. I love coming back to my old favorites. Here I am in Concord C at Cleveland airport. Great lakes you can't get any more home beer than this. Today I'm trying a double IPA called Juicy Vivacious. Plus the turkey club. With the side of chips. The club had a nice spicy aïoli on it. That was really a nice surprise to get up just a little extra taste to the turkey and the bacon and fresh avocado laid on it and then sourdough bread was grilled perfection. I'll be back in a month hope I get Brian here again . Great service from Brian/server as I said at the bar. The ambience is beautiful. It's a nice Tuesday afternoon with snow falling around the airport and everybody is on laptops and having a nice afternoon at Cleveland Airport. read more

Stopped at Great Lakes Brewing for dinner while waiting for a connecting flight. It is located in concourse C. Our waiter was super friendly. My friend knocked over his glass of water and the waiter said " don't worry we are mopping the floors tonight anyway". I ordered the chicken Caesar wrap. It was delicious. I prefer my sangria with more fruit but the sangria I ordered was pretty good. The only thing is that the restaurant closes so early for it to be inside an airport. We were asked to leave ( nicely) because the restaurant technically closed at 7:30pm and we were still eating after 8:00pm. read more

Pretty good for an airport restaurant. The food was fairly generic, but we had an awesome server, Brian, who made the experience memorable. I ordered the Greek salad with shrimp, which was fresh and delicious--I enjoyed every bite. Two others in my group tried the fish tacos and the salmon plate; both were about average, as expected. I'd likely stop by again if I'm in this airport, but it wouldn't be my top choice otherwise. The only downside was that the drinks were quite weak and watered down. Fries were okay, but also not very fresh tasting. Coleslaw was a bit sweet and a bit runny. Quick stop for some appetizers and drinks, the menu is QR code so you must scan to view that aspect of it. They do require mask upon entry and are following COVID guidelines. Now let's get started! Every person facing a long day of air travel needs beer, so every airport worth its salt needs a great brewery to aid weary and nervous travelers in quenching their thirst! Hopkins has a few of these, but GLBC stands tall above the rest! Always 6-8 of their famous beers on draft and several other bottled options. The menu here for food is on the smaller side, but is more than enough to satisfy most hungry travelers. Decor is fresh and inviting! Definitely a place worth killing a few hours of layover time at. Pretty rare to find such a well run big name brewery in an airport but this place sets a high bar. I counted about 8 or 9 different beers on draft and a pretty big menu with many good options for everyone. It wasn't close to my gate but worth the hike over. Flying out of town, we stopped for lunch and split a buffalo chicken wrap upgraded with fries instead of chips. The fries were piping hot. At the time they only had 4 Great Lakes brews on taps as well as can options, I am assuming this was due to lower traffic because of the pandemic. They had 6 or 8 handles. Server was awesome and got us some malt vinegar from the kitchen which was a nice touch on the fries. It was definitely worth the walk to the C concourse as we were flying out of A A little tidbit, they do offer 6 packs to go, I think it was $13 in case you forgot to pick up a Commodore Perry IPA or famous Burning River Pale Ale while in CLE. Yes the river did catch fire in CLE in the late 60's or early 70's. That is a reasonable mark-up compared to the local grocery store. read more

I happen to stop by this brewery on a long layover. They only have a few beers they actually make which was disappointing but they tasted great. If you need something to eat they do have some stuff you could get. I would stay away from the "pretzels." I took a picture of it, its just an overpriced piece of bread with some mustard on the side. I would go back for the beer, but grab a snack somewhere else. They did have this cool QR code on the table so you can easily look at their menu on your own phone. Then when you are done you can pay right on your phone as well. I can't wait for more places to start doing this! Seating was clean and nice. Its a nice place to wait for your next flight. Great Lakes is a local brewery so it's nice to see them with an outlet here in the airport. They have a half-dozen or so of their own beers on tap and a number of guest beers, plus the usual airport food. I stopped by today for a beer, and it was tasty awesome. Main problem? Stopped in here for a beer and dinner before boarding a flight back to DC. This location is on Concourse C of Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. As Great Lakes Brewing Co. makes their own beer and serves it here - they don't offer beers from other breweries. I have to say this because I was sitting at the bar - I had to laugh to myself - some guy walked up and tried to order a Bud Light from the bartender. He clearly did not get it. I ordered the Commodore Perry IPA and a bowl of their Creole Gumbo. The IPA was far more clear/uncloudy than I am accustomed to. Most IPAs have a cloudy, unfiltered appearance. This IPA was not as hoppy as I would like. The Gumbo? I would not order it again. I should know better. Not much flavor. I added some hot sauce to make it better. Service was good. Worth coming here for the beer. Food-wise, might be better to stick to items on the menu that are simple - burgers and such. Service was good and bartenders were friendly.
