Instead of properly soaking off my gel polish, she aggressively filed my nails down to the point it was painful and left my natural nails damaged and paper-thin. My cuticles were barely touched, my nails were filed unevenly, and the polish application was poorly done from start to finish. I sat there for nearly 40 minutes hoping someone would notice what was happening and step in to help, but no one did. Thankfully, I was finally able to get Amanda's attention myself, and she kindly removed some of the polish so I could at least leave without it looking worse. After spending almost 1 hour and 45 minutes in the salon, I left with ruined nails and never even received the pedicure I had booked. The attached photo shows the condition of my nails when I left the salon -- damaged, over-filed, uneven, and completely unacceptable. What makes this even more upsetting is that my three daughters and I have been loyal customers since Bijou Nail Bar first opened. I've always supported this business, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I also requested that the owner call me directly regarding what happened, and I still haven't heard a peep. Had someone simply been honest that the salon was short staffed or that the employee was still training, I would have appreciated the transparency and gone elsewhere. Instead, I wasted nearly two hours and left feeling frustrated, ignored, and with damaged nails.
