Congrats on being a contender for the unfriendliest restaurant in Northern Minnesota or the known universe. No greeting as we entered or instructions on where to sit. Restaurant is shabby and poorly maintained. After a few awkward moments, my wife and I left and went to the friendly nearby McDonalds where hospitality still exists. This place has solid food at a great price! I got a sunshine burger- the egg was cooked perfectly, they cooked the bacon to order. The fries were extra but WORTH IT. It's a cash only establishment but they have an ATM on site. There's a railroad theme going on but I kind of loved it. read more

We used to eat breakfast at McDonald's at about 10 am on the last day of our week long annual fishing trip near Park Rapids. That was our tradition for about 10 years-- mainly for the FAST food so we could all head out toward home-- a 10-12 hour drive... The McDonalds in PR is however is slow and always messed up our order so we would end up being there for 45 minutes... We like to walk around downtown PR after that for a few minutes so this year we looked for a new breakfast option near downtown... Yelp led us to this place and we loved it!! I'm sure this is the best diner in town. Everyone was thrilled with the food. The biscuits and gravy were super and a half order was like most places' full order in size. Hashbrowns- perfect. French toast-- let me say it was most incredible!!! Order it! And do NOT forget to order the GOO sauce to go on it. The GOO is basically a banana foster sauce brought to you warm and a big serving to boot. They should ask anyone ordering FT if they want goo but our lady didn't. I just noticed it on the menu for $.50 and asked her what it was.. When she said warm carMel sauce with bananas and pecans I almost said well being me 3 orders for a buck fifty- TG I didn't cause one is more than enough! Ok so maybe I'm overly thrilled with the place simply because we were able to talk my dad out of the dollar menu at McD's.... But really I think you'll be happy :) read more

This place is very overrated it is very old and the food is not very consistent. The problem in this town is there is only on other place to eat breakfast.I would suggest going to the grocery store and buying breakfast and cooking at home. read more

Now that our favorite go-to place is open again after a recent fire, we stopped in for Sunday breakfast. We were delighted to see that other than the new walls and ceiling, nothing has changed! Same great service, same hot delicious food, all served promptly and with a smile. The place was packed and the food took just a bit longer to get to us, but still amazingly fast in spite of it. Our favorite is the French Toast - best in the country!! Have had their regular breakfasts, biscuits and gravy, omelets - all great!! The only thing we noticed is that with the pine ceiling the noise level was higher. Or was it the crowd of people enjoying the place, too!! read more

Went for breakfast after a camping trip at Itasca. Wonderful breakfast! Just what my girlfriend and I were looking for after being in the wilderness all weekend!
