Well it appears the company will not respond to my request to be refunded for services not rendered. Brian was very communicative via email and text at the beginning but as the problems have evolved, it doesn't appear he wants to acknowledge let alone take responsibility for what his company did not complete. So unfortunate because I really did like the company and the crew at the beginning. Things ended very unprofessionally and a month out I'm noticing how poor quality their work was in spaces they may not have thought I would've paid much attention to. I hired great NW painting and they provided amazing customer service. They did a great job. They were clean, curious, and their work was top notch. I would recommend them to anyone for any painting needs. Through my experience with Brian's company I learned that you definitely get what you pay for and they are worth every extra penny. Brian, Jason and Joseph are a great team to work with. After my initial bid request over the phone with Brian, he came to my house on-time the very next day. After getting bids from other companies, we found that Brian's quote was very reasonable for the quality of work they promised to give. Right before the start of their project, we had to leave for California last minute. That didn't stop them from starting their work. When we got back home, most of it was completed and they finished the rest within 2 days. Our gate ended up coming down (at no fault to the painters), and Jason went out of his way to screw it back in for us. Upon completion, I noticed that there were a few spots that needed paint. After shooting an email over to Brian, he and Joseph came to my house in an hour to tackle it. After one last walk-through, I was very satisfied with their work. I would definitely recommend Great Northwest Painting. Brian's communication from beginning to end was outstanding, their pricing was the lowest out of all the bids I received, and they take pride in their work and make sure that the quality of their finished product is satisfactory. Jason the owner and his crew were great! Jason got back to me promptly after requesting a quote and was very professional from beginning to end with the interior painting of our entire downstairs, including updating all of our trim work. They arrived on time and finished the job on time as agreed upon, with the most reasonable pricing we could find. Jason even threw in a complimentary pressure wash of our deck when I mentioned wanting to get it refinished in the future. What a fantastic company. If I could give them more stars I would. From the initial quotes with Brian, to the work that was done on the interior of my home, the experience was great. The painters were very professional and accommodating, due to us having a 4-month-old son at home. Review by Peggy B. in Mount Angel, OR Project: Remodel and Painting I hired Jason Birkes's company to do a remodel and painting on the upper floor of a house I had just purchased. I looked them up on Home Advisor, Yelp and the CCB things appeared fine. The job was only suppose to take 6 weeks and ended up taking 7 months. I ended up paying almost $60000 and was left with an incomplete and badly performed job. I had to fire Jason because he wasn't doing anything except not showing up or giving me excuse after excuse as to why he was late or had to leave early or just flat didn't show or call. My floors are improperly installed with paint and glue all over them, windows not caulked, tile improperly installed, and paint actually falling off doors and moldings, I could go on and on . There is so much, it is a mess. I am devastated. The money he took was from the sale of my other home and this is my retirement home. I am a senior citizen on social security and I was going through a hard time during all this. I was sick, hurt and in desperate need of someone I could trust to help me with remolding and making this home mine. Even writing this is so overwhelming I feel like I am reliving this nightmare. By the time I realized it the money was gone and so were all the workers and I was left with no money and a mess. This is a very short version of a long 7 month story and ordeal so I hope this will be enough so that you understand what I have been through. Originally the CCB showed that Jason had insurance and bond but then they showed he was suspended for lack of this. I also learned that he didn't even have a license when he started the job. We met with the CCB and they found multiple violations, having employees without workers comp insurance, doing electrical work unlicensed and performing poor incomplete work. Jason Birkes settled with me and the CCB and was put on a payment plan by the CCB however he has failed to pay at all. This now forces me to sue to get paid from his Bond which $20,000.00 wont even fix all the issues he has left me with. read more

I first went to Home Advisors to look for a house painter. I got this business first. I went online and requested a quote. I never received the quote. (I keep all my emails and looked in spam as well). I then called and left a voice mail message. No response. I then called again and got him on the phone. He said he was on a job and would call me "in about an hour when he got back to the office and said he had "already done a quote and emailed that to me." I told him I'd look again (but when I did in all my emails, I had only received the bounce back email that said he had gotten my request for a quote and would get back to me). I then didn't receive a quote, a call back or an email. I called again and left a voice mail message. No response. I called again recently, and got him again while he was "on a job and would call me in about an hour when he got back to his office." No call, no email no nothing. WOW. Is this how this guy does business? VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. He not only doesn't get back to you, he lies about having done that. I would NEVER, EVER recommend this vendor. And I hope that Home Advisor will take him off their list because this guy does not know how to treat customers! read more

However, he never showed up to the appointment (even after waiting an hour for him) and didn't pick up or return any of my phone calls. I consider this to be very unprofessional. read more

I called Great Northwest and the same day Brian came to my house. He stated that he would send me a bid later that day for the 4 rooms of my Lake Oswego house. Two days later when I had not heard from him I called. He said he had sent me a bid (not true) and that he would call later to confirm that I did in fact received his bid. He never called back. I suspect the job was too small and he just wasn't interested. Very unprofessional and a little weird. read more

6 out of 5! Brian's crew was painting a neighbors house so I asked if he could do some small repair on mine. He immediately spotted a different repair that had escaped my eye that was just as important and did both professionally and super fast. He gave me a really amazing deal on the work. Much like another recent review, Brian was prompt and timely on the front end of this job. To be fair, there were circumstances beyond his control that pushed out the start date of our job by two weeks. But when that start date rolled around and I called to confirm, Brian sounded irritated and said they would "make a hole" in the schedule and start the next day (then did not show up).Turns out there was a significant personnel issue that had affected their whole schedule. Brian thought he had communicated this to me; he had not. So in terms of customer service, I can understand the other reviewer's lower rating. Brian needs to do a better job of communicating information with his customers. Our primary goal, however, was to have the job done right. To that end, Great Northwest Painting delivered! I could not be happier with the final product. My dad's house needed to be repainted years ago and was in bad shape. Brian did everything he indicated in the contract he would do AND MORE at the original stated price. If you are on a tight or specific time frame and that is the primary consideration for the contractor you will hire, this is probably not the best choice for you. But if you are looking for an exceptional quality job at an extremely competitive price and are willing to be flexible to achieve that end, I highly recommend Great Northwest Painting. I hired Great Northwest Painting to paint our home. Brian and his crew did an outstanding job! They impressed us with the quality and speed at which home was painted. We set out to get estimates, Brian was early for our scheduled appointment time and spent allot of time with us answering all our questions and explaining there process to us. He even scheduled a meeting with a design consultant to help us choose colors for FREE. His crew was on time every day and very clean they were so conscious that this is our home and not a construction zone we didn't even know they were here half the time. After they were finished Brian walked our home with us to make sure we were completely satisfied and even provided us with a five year no questions asked warranty.
