Love! Used to drive to Oregon every so often to get my hands on some of these beers! They have a nice patio as well as a big indoor seating area. Beers usually sell out quick so if you hear of a flavor make sure to pre order in the app or get there early! Also tried their least spicy hot sauce, very good but still hot asf!! We loved visiting Notion in Georgetown. We stopped here to kill time on the way to the airport. They didn't have food on site but they have walking distance recommendations. Really cute place and a great variety of beers. Don't see too many sours in the city...this place is really nice. read more

fun place to try funky beers! as a non beer drinker, I usually order ciders at breweries. my brother convinced me to split a flight, and I actually found some fruity beers I liked! Big papaya was tasty, very fruity and not an overwhelming beer flavor. In our bagg was also fruity and tasty, but more hoppy. we also tried carrot cake, which legit tasted like carrot cake, double blueberry cheesecake was definitely blueberry and sweet, and friends to the end tasted 100% like peanut beer. didn't like those as much but they definitely got the flavors across! very cool place to hang out and sample beers! read more

This place has a lot of potential and it think it would be very busy this summer. We visited twice now, once during the Covid shut down and again during the weekend. They have great outdoor seating, but It was really cold and they don't have heaters. So, on a cold day dress warm and bring a blanket. I have always loved the idea of great notion but since it was in Portland i only visited a couple of times. Now there is one literally up the road from me. Its a little smaller and during covid feels really small with the limited seating, but its next door to another great brewery Lowercase. So if one is too busy to visit the other might be worth a stop. Additionally I would recommend this place for the beer alone. Grab a couple to sip or grab some four packs. Having tried GN in cans, I was anxious to try some on tap. Arriving around 1PM on a Tuesday, there were a couple parties there, but plenty of room still. There was not a ton of tables though, so I imagine there could be wait when it's busy. First you check in with the staff who will let you know where to sit and then they come to your table to take your order. We ordered a couple of flights which is five 5.5oz pours. I did not pay, but my brother said a flight has a special cheaper price compared to ordering tasters separately. I think it was around $15 plus a little more if you order stouts. We both ordered 2 stouts in our flight and the total was under $40. I thought the price was very reasonable compared to what I often pay for way less beer. Although they rotate, I'll list my choices just in case they have them when you go: GUAVA MOCHI: My favorite of the day. Perfect blend of those flavors. I could easily get this as a four pack and drink it all if I could bring it on a plane. BLUE RASPBERRY FLUFF: Tastes like a sour candy. Tart from the ale, sweet from the cotton candy flavor. Good as a taster, but I think hard to drink a full pour. MANGO SUPER INVADER: A mango bomb. Nothing special otherwise. But if you like mango beer, you'll like this. NIGHT OF THE LIVING SQUATCH: I preferred this one cold and wish I drank it quicker. I found the maple flavor very well balanced. POT OF GOLD: I thought this was better as it warmed up. The vanilla and milk sugar give it a good amount of sweetness. The one down side for me was the chairs. We were given these seats that lean back a lot and you can't really grab/drink your beer from that position. So we ended up sitting straight in them instead and not use the back of the chair. They do not serve food, so we went to the market next door, Tang, to pick up some banh mi and they were delicious. I recommend stopping there for food to bring over. read more

This tiny outpost in Georgetown is the best spot to get to-go cans for what can be a notoriously hard brewery to find at your local bottle shops. On top of that, if the weather permits, sitting outdoors and watching the airplanes fly overhead on their landing path is a lot of fun. Staff has always been kind, funny, and their selection of taps is great. They leverage tech in a great way (their app is amazing, and on-site ordering via the web is also easy) and makes ordering your beer pretty dang easy. Overall, love their product, love this tiny spot, love the staff... go! GO GET THINE BEER ON! read more

My girlfriend and I were on a trip in Washington and were shocked there was a great notion in the Seattle area. We were able to hangout there on our last day and it was honestly one of the highlights of the trip! We have tried their canned beers before but experiencing them on tap was a whole new ball game. Had a really awful experience with the beer tenders, and felt strongly enough about this experience to log back on to the Yelp that I haven't used in years. After living in Seattle for three years now I'm used to just plain awful people/attitudes, but when I'm paying you for a service I expect basic human decency. We never liked sour beers but all the sour beers at Great Notion were super yummy! Jammy Pants, Double Raspberry shake, Triple Blueberry shake and many more taste amazing, and so as their stouts. Their beers sold out quickly! This's our 5th visit. They have a nice outdoor space and is Covid safe. Staffs are friendly and professional. Omg..... I have travelled all over the cities, states and even countries collecting growlers and tasting beer and this place is my favorite. I'm usually just an IPA type fan which they have tons of but stepped outside the box to try some lagers and sours.....WOW! Serves may not want to talk to you much (except for one amazing one) and prefer for you to just scan from table and order but totally worth it!!!! (No BS review coming) Let me start by saying, I love Great Notion. It's one of my all time favorite breweries. Every time my fiancé and I are in Oregon, we always go to the Alberta location and always get food and a flight every time and it's always a fantastic experience. With that being said, the Georgetown location has a nice selection of delicious beer and a decent building BUT the employees are shit. I'm not sure who hired the team for the Georgetown location, but they did a piss poor job. The kid with the bleach blonde hair, tattoos and big hoop earnings was being a dick to every customer during our entire visit. The manager with the glasses, that was on duty seemed very inexperienced and incapable of the job. The nicest person there was a guy wearing black shorts and a white baseball cap who kept refilling our water. Would I go back to this location? Maybe a bit longer down the line when they have a new team. My recommendation, make it a very special trip, drive to Oregon and go to the Great Notion in Alberta. read more
