My friend and I ordered a flight and a sour. Both were delicious, and the price of the flight was fantastic. The interior was spacious inside with a decent amount of seating, and there was also an outdoor patio in the back. The service was attentive and friendly. The protocol here is you clean up after yourself, which seemed to be working as the establishment was pretty clean. You're able to order food from other restaurants (there are 2 others connected) and bring it into here to enjoy with your drinks, which is great since this place doesn't sell any food. p.s. Such a great spot to hang out! We spent the day playing disc golf in what was a much more challenging course than anticipated so we were more than ready for a drink and some food! All 3 of us love trying different beers so when we saw pics online of all the options in the fridge and the long menu we knew this was the place for us. We pulled up and amazingly found parking in their small lot out back and my sister found a spot on the street right by the door, so lucky. It was 4 so still not too busy but we were happy to get to choose the best spot since theres benches outside in the sun, tall tables inside, plenty of bar space at their really cool long bar, and low tables for larger parties. When I came in there was a party of about 10 or more celebrating so definitely a good spot for larger parties. The space is huge! And it's connected to a burger and pizza spot. Yup, it has it all! We ordered some flights, burgers, fries. It was all so good! We went here all the time pre-COVID but recently made our first post-COVID trip. Loved how organized everything was. Came in and waited to be seated - we got the last table outside. Tables under a permanent roof but still in the open and are nicely spaced apart. The beer and cider menu is full of cool and unique options from some well-loved local breweries and some new-to-me breweries. My most recent visit I actually went for a Sleight of Hand Syrah - a very generous pour for a delicious wine. This place is dog friendly and kid friendly - which you may find desirable or less desirable depending on your leanings. Sometimes there are a LOT of kids - which I bet is great if you are someone with kids. As someone without kids I will say there are places that are adults only seating within the bar too which I appreciate. You can also order from Lil' Woodys or Southside Pizza. Lil' Woodys is consistently delicious. Southside had some great selection pre-COVID but had a limited selection post-COVID - but hey, we all do what we can. Anyway, go! You will have fun. read more

They also offered us a couple samples before buying wine by the glass or ordering a whole growler. It's neat because you can peruse at your own leisure, no pressure. I loved how many snack options they had to choose from as well! I think you can also bring your own food in to eat. There are many restaurant and food trucks around to choose from. Then just eat inside with a beverage of your choosing. Parking can be hard to find but if you do at least a dozen laps around the block, you should be able to get one, haha! read more

I stopped here while visiting my brother who lives very close. It's a really great spot with a lot of tables for big groups or small groups. There were so many beers on the tap list it was really hard to choose, not to mention all of the bottles and cans in the cooler! Because I was with other people, I chose not to look at the cooler options for a few hours (like I wanted to), and just asked the beer tender his recommendations for what I like (dank IPA with high ABV, IBU). His recommendation was spot on! There are a few bodega style items in the shop, like meats and cheeses to eat at the table, but there's also a burger joint next door! The Burgers are good and I have gone there with extended family, frequently. But I do not appreciate the attitude of the drinks counter waitress in not been cooperative, when I asked her to put the TV captions on. When I asked for captions on their TV, the waitress at the drinks counter (Nov 8, 2023 around 5 PM) was very defensive and uncooperative. I was surprised by her pushback on even trying to do it! I understood her serving customers first...but she was standing around a lot -- Wed night was not that busy. I am downgrading the rating due to her attitude. With the sound of the TV off (goodness), TV Captions help for both hearing and hearing impaired. After she argued with me about it, I mentioned that the Washington law requires it. It is law SB 5027...and I quote, "Any person that owns or manages a place of public accommodation that offers a closed-captioned television receiver for use in any public area must activate closed captioning..." Smack in the middle of White Center where all the action is happening. On your left is BBQ, across the street is the best street tacos in White Center, to your right is burgers and take out Chinese. And like I said, smack in the middle is beer a plenty. There's gobs of room here where you really don't have to worry about finding a seat (except Fri-Sat after 7pm), open up your laptop and do some work, drink a beer from almost 50 taps, watch some television or visit with friends. You can easily just stay here and drink beer, then when you get hungry you don't have to leave as within 12-50 paces is food a plenty that surrounds Beer Star. Beer Star is kid friendly and has a very inviting atmosphere that has something for everybody; families, dog lovers, sports lovers, beer lovers and White Center party crowd. The beer selection at Beer Star (2nd tier) isn't as good as Beer Junction (1st tier) in West Seattle but better than Pit Stop (3rd tier) in Burien; mostly local breweries and you can try out lots of the local brews. Wow, what an awesome spot. And in White Center, no less! I went with the (future) in-laws to celebrate finding my wedding dress. We wanted somewhere simple, low key, and close to home. They had been to Beer Star before, but it was my first time. First thing I noticed was that this place is HUGE. And they've got outdoor seating! They're also connected to Lil Woody's next door. You can't take your alcohol in there, but you can easy walk right in as there's no door to separate them and grab some food. I really like that you can get flights and pints here if you're looking to stay and enjoy a drink orrr you have the option to fill a growler or grab something from their very well-stocked cold cases. They've got digital menus up behind the bar with all their offerings, ranging from tons of beers, ciders, and even wine. I went with a Blood Orange IPA. The Blood Orange IPA was delicious. It was flavorful and refreshing, which was perfect for the warm day we were having. Opting to have it out on their patio made it that much better! Bonus - they sell pickles at the register! I'm a pickle FIENDDD, so I had to get one. I don't remember the name of the company they came from, but they are a local PNW business, so that's awesome! They were so good. Reminded me of the big pickles you can get at Disney, taste and all! Worth noting that they are great for families, too. There was even a parents group meeting with all their small babies while we were there. Plenty of children under 10 were there as well. Definitely a good find. I'll be back! read more

They have a WIDE variety of beer AND wine. The space is pretty good given the location and they're near a lot of places to grab to eat. They actually have a door to Lil' Woody's and this okay Chinese joint. It's literally like having a piece of Capitol Hill without the crowd and the drive. They support several local breweries (great way to go) so you could imagine the number of options they have in beer and wine. I personally like anything with water and that has a little fruity taste. My first time coming here I wasn't sure what to get and the "beertender" was great! She asked what I liked and what didn't like, and what my go to drinks were. All her recommendations were great, I ended up getting about 3 of them (one after another of course - not all at once) but after tasting about 12 different beers, I was pretty buzzed haha!
