Plan to wait outside TSA until you are close to boarding and they open TSA. They typically have it closed until it's getting close to time to board. There is no TSA Pre-check. Don't be that person and complain about it. Just pack ready to take toiletries and electronics out and shoes off. Why not read a book from the flybrary? There are a small amount of car rental companies. National is a new addition found at enterprise booth. Only American flies in and out currently to DFW and Phoenix. And yes the plane is small but appreciate the kind service and lucky you even have commercial airline service.

This small airport has one airline and only one for the unforeseen future: United Airlines. Also on the premises is the one and only car rental company: Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Parking is free. However, note that there is no covered parking. The paved, well-marked lot is as vast and flat as the surrounding desert terrain. The employees were friendly and worked quickly during my first experience allowing my children to travel as unaccompanied minors on 3/13/2023. Security was a breeze even though I was randomly selected for additional screening. Lol. The direct flights go to Houston, TX, and Denver, CO. If/when they start making direct flights to Los Angeles, I'll be even more excited. Here's to wishful thinking...

A shout out to the lone male employee with glasses who has always been there at 6 AM to check in my unaccompanied minors, my daughters. To say he wears many hats is an understatement... He works the front desk meanwhile assisting with luggage and answering other employees' questions then scans everyone's tickets - he even personally assisted both of my daughters on the plane this morning (3.15.2025) - and after everyone boarded he guided the pilots out. Shout out to him for being so calm and cool even when setbacks kept occurring.

Take this review with a grain of salt…read more.. United Airlines at Hobbs airport is at the time of this writing (4/25/2023) the only airline available. They used to only offer flights to Houston, TX. Now they offer certain days to and from Denver, CO. There are two primary reasons for my low rating... One being for the late flights coming into Hobbs, their process for getting unaccompanied minors back to parents is a bit nonchalant. The second is the wait for checked-in luggage. The planes are the smaller ones. It doesn't seem like it should take that long even at around 9:30PM, but it sure did on 3/21/2023.
