Great place to start the day in Roswell. They offer a great map with all the touristy places folks want to visit when here. They also have some great, reasonably priced merchandise for sale. I have a somewhat mercurial relationship with the Roswell Visitor Center. We arrived in town on a Sunday evening and first thing Monday morning. I headed over to check it out because I wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything during our trip. Unfortunately they are closed on Mondays, so I was disappointed but we went ahead and started some activities and sightseeing and I made sure to come back the following day. When I walked up to the door I saw a sign attached that they were closed for lunch. What luck! I decided it was a sign and we would finish our trip without a visit here. Then, as we were headed back to our hotel, I saw that they were open and I couldn't help myself. Third time's a charm! This is an adorable little center with a cute photo ops and welcoming staff. You should definitely stop here Tuesday through Saturday 9:00 a.m. to noon or 1:00 p.m. to 5:00. read more

Great Visitor's Center and THE place to go to to figure out what's going on during your visit. We came the the National Air Race but would not have known about the annual pinata festival or extended main street hours because of the event if we did not come. I LOVE the small-town logistics of somewhere like Roswell because we never had to pay for parking and great information centers like this are totally free. The AC is nice and cold and there are also public bathrooms inside. Some notes about our visit: -The have a cool and FREE photobooth with much desired cheesy aliens that is free to get a mini photoshoot at and a print out, they can also use your phone to take pics. -The "Roswell" city logo, the "R" with the UFO and beam making up the negative space, can also be purchased on clothing, keychains, and other merchandise here! -There is a small fence outside to attach locks to if you want to commemorate your visit to Roswell. read more

This was right on Main Street. There was a large free parking area behind it. We were walking with the dog but I noticed the lot. Walked in and there is an outer hallway with art and when you step into the main area they had a camera set up taking pictures of visitors standing between two aliens. Of course we did it along with the dog. (Cheweenie). It's free but they take donations so tht was easy. You get 2 pics and they print it and you can email it to yourself which we did and I'm sure to see some spam. We grabbed a couple of brochures. The associates were very nice and helpful. No issues with the dog. Great place!! read more

Stop here 1st! When in Roswell the visitor center is a must stop. I recommend going here first. They had a great map with all the local attractions. A seasonal themed photo op with aliens where they take your group picture and print them for you for free. They even have a fun scavenger hunt around town. The Roswell Visitors Center is located right across from City Hall with parking available. It is a great place to stop by if you want a map of the things to do in Roswell and also for suggestions by the friendly employees who work there. There are also clean restrooms inside and you also have an opportunity to take a free photo with a fun Roswell background as a keepsake. But currently on this trip, the machine to take the photo is not working but the employees working here are more than happy to take a photo of you with your cell phone. My husband and I decided to stop by here after visiting the International UFO Museum and Research Center, which is a few blocks up the street (the majority of things to do in Roswell are actually within short walking distance from the visitor center by the way). We just came in to get a map of the city and then the employee who helped us had given us some suggestions and her opinion of some of the things to do out here. She also suggested that we take a photo with their current St. Patrick's Day themed backdrop (please see my photo). After that, we were on our way. But later on, we decided to come back here because we wanted to get a photo of our little girl dog wearing her little green leprechaun hat and beard (which I had purchased from Target in the dollar spot for $3 for those that are interested) with the themed backdrop (yep I have become one of those crazy dog owners who has their dog wear clothes and costumes). I think that really made the employees day when we came back, lol. One employee had even gave our little girl 3 small dog treats just because she was so cute (she had asked us if it was okay to give it to her first). Overall, it is worth a visit to the visitor center if you would like a map and are new in town looking to see where to go and what to do. Even to get restaurant suggestions from locals as well (although we do have Yelp for that). It doesn't take long to make a visit either. read more

What do you do when visiting a city that you've never been to? Go to the visitor center! Most folks who work in a Visitor Center tend to be knowledgeable, passionate, helpful and just downright proud citizens of the towns they work in. The two ladies working at the Roswell Visitors Center on Saturday, 8/24/19, fit all of the above and were great ambassadors to Roswell. They talked to us about: aliens, the Roswell incident, favorite restaurants, where to take pictures of Roswell signs, our interests beyond aliens, etc... We even took a free alien picture at the center. The center has clean restrooms, is air-conditioned, and had a large parking lot. Also close to the UFO museum and the city hall. read more

This is hands down the best visitor center I've ever been to! The girls were so welcoming!! They invited us to take a free picture with the aliens in full fall theme, and it printed out right there and we were able to take it home! They had the alien glasses that we had been looking for for 2 for $10.00 in green and blue! They gave us a free map of the touristy areas and gave us ideas of what to see and do, they told us about the UFO festival, and they had cool things for purchase like magnets etc... they even offered for us to park our car there while we walked around to check out historic downtown! We left feeling great about our Roswell day to come! read more

I stopped here my first day in Roswell. I am really glad I did. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and embraced the UFO culture that is Roswell. I bought a Coffee Mug and a refrigerator magnet. The staff member I spoke with gave me a map of tourist attractions, stores and restaurants in the area, that came in handy several times. They are extremely wheelchair accessible and definitely worth a visit! read more

My wife and I went in for the first time on Tuesday. The staff was wonderful. Roswell is a place we are potentially looking to live and they told us everything we wanted to know and talked with us as long as we wanted. The staff here are SO helpful and nice! They will set you up with all the Roswell information you want. There is also a photo area where you can pose and dress up with some alien figures and they will take your picture. They also have items for purchase such as shirts, mugs, and postcards. Nice stop for a couple pictures, a small walk and a look inside! The visitor center is of course decked out with alien stuff. The ladies inside were super nice and informative about anything around town. They gave us maps, recommendations and even gave our pup a treat! We also got to take an awesome alien picture in their little photo setup. They let us wear alien glasses which were hilarious, we were even given 2 printed copies of the picture!! read more

Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200.... before you stop HERE! This lovely knowledgeable young lady told me everything I wanted and needed to know about Roswell. There's a great history, apart from even the alien fascination. You can park in the lot and walk to the shops on Main St.! read more
