The service was good, the food was ok. I probably should have known better than getting Chinese food in a small town but I was optimistic.

Food is good and convenient. Limited dining room is typical for a takeout- heavy place.

The food is always fantastic. This is my Lancaster go to for Chinese for years and for multiple reasons.. My mother and I like to dine in. The food comes out too hot to eat immediately (good thing to me), breading is crispy, flavors are delicious but our ultimate favorite...Crab Rangoon!! Great Wall does not make their crab Rangoon sweet.. Idk why the Ohio Chinese places think cr should be sweet btw? The service is great as well. Not sure who's faster, Mexican restaurants or Chinese restaurants, both are impressive at food delivery from kitchen to table. Well done Great Wall. I look forward to eating here every time. We are creatures of habit, we tend to order the same dishes when we eat Chinese take out. Egg rolls, fried dumplings, Crab Rangoon's, black pepper chicken, General Tso's chicken, sweet and sour chicken, house lo-mein, and fried rice. We haven't ordered from this store in years as it is considerably further away from home and more expensive than our usual Chinese takeout place. The last time we ordered from this establishment it only cost $43. The cost for this order was $107, $30 more than our usual Chinese takeout place. Appetizer items and the rice and noodles were fine, Generals Tso's sauce flavor was great, but all of the chicken dishes we received were not edible. All of the chicken in all three dishes was fried hard and unchewable. We were charged $63 for chicken dishes we could not eat and when I called to complain about it, the woman pretended she didn't understand what I was saying. Eventually she busted stopped talking and hung up. For $76 I can get the same dishes elsewhere without having to drive across town that are prepared better. This is not the first time we have had this issue with this establishment. Never again! read more

Belated Review came here on 9/30/21 for a quick bite for dinner on our way home. We ordered to go. Menu: They have a wide selection on their menu I was very impressed with it. I was happy to have quite a bit of options to chose from. Our order: We order two Hot and Sour Soups extra spicy, and Steamed Pork Dumplings. Service: Extremely polite serverice and it was very fast service. Food: Let me say wow just wow. This place by far has the absolute best hot and sour soup I've ever had and I've had a lot of it. The dumplings were steamed to absolute perfection and wow were they absolutely delicious. Drinks: They had a drink set up like you'd get at a gas station so not to impressed with that. Overall Experience: Very nice experience will definitely be eating here again. I highly recommend this place. read more

I bought sweet and sour chicken and general so's chicken. My stomach started to hurt really bad once I was done with my food. It was hot and smelled amazing, but this is not the first time Great Wall has messed my stomach up. I had the shits the next day all day! We tried a new take out for Chinese food tonight and we were quite pleased with what we received. First I must say that the ordering process was easy. The person taking our order was easy to understand and she understood us. When we got to the restaurant the food was waiting for us and the order was correct! The food was delicious! I ordered the General Tao's and was quite pleased. It was sweeter than I recall but there was more chicken than breading and plenty of sauce. The rice was also delicious with the right amount of seasoning. Overall this was an excellent experience and we will be back! read more

We stopped to pick up Chinese food on our way to the Hocking Hills. We are very mindful about our current health crisis and try to do our part to avoid contributing to the spread. Everyone in the kitchen was masked up and there was no direct contact between customers and employees. What I came here to say is I had the best egg foo young ever. The portions were so generous and the gravy was delicious. The sautéed onions and roasted pork inside the Chinese omelette were so tasty. The rice was fluffy and perfect. We love the Hocking Hills area and now we have a new tradition of picking up food in the way. read more

On a whim, I decided that I wanted Chinese. So, even though I was skeptical Due to not many great Chinese restaurants in Lancaster based on personal experience and not so good reviews I decided to try this place. Awesome! This food was awesome! I was pleasantly surprised! Everything was hot and fresh and the portion size is great. You definitely get what you pay for. We got General tso's chicken with fried rice(fantastic), pepper steak with fried rice( no complaints there :)) and my favorite white rice with sweet and sour sauce. From what it looks like they are family owned and very friendly. So I definitely recommend this place! Next time I want local Chinese food, I know where to go! read more

We order at least once a week from here. They will customize however you want and the staff are fantastic! The quality of food coming from this "hole in the wall" is way above expensive restaurants with atmosphere. My favorite place for Chinese food in Lancaster, OH. The best crab Rangoon I've ever had. Food is made fresh in the kitchen and can be eaten inside or ordered to-go. The dining area inside is simple, yet normally clean and functional. The parking near the front and side of the building, is shared with businesses who are on the left side of the building. I started eating here in 1994 and I enjoy taking new people to Great Wall, so far everyone has liked it, if not loved it! In Lancaster this is the best Chinese takeout you can get! The Wor Sue Gui and General Tso's are great for any take out. The only thing from here we wouldn't get again is the shrimp with Lobster sauce...... it's an unappealing soup consistency. Our family just moved to Lancaster from Columbus. We moved to a neighborhood close to Great Wall. Through living in Columbus for several years, we had found local Chinese food restaurants which were very good and finally settled on a standby. So in moving to Lancaster, we were basically starting over in our quest for finding great Chinese food. As luck would have it, however, we selected Great Wall as our first choice in trying out Chinese restaurants in Lancaster. We ordered General Tso's Chicken. Sweet and Sour Chicken, and Wonton Soup - all with egg rolls. The soup was tasty, hot and well garnished. The egg rolls were all fresh, hot and tasted like they were made in house and not of the generic variety. The entrees themselves were very flavorful, the rice cooked to perfection and the perfect amounts of sauces applied to the dishes. We have since ordered six additional times from Great Wall within the span of 3 months. If you're looking for great Chinese Food, you've found it! read more

Great food at a reasonable price! From ordering to delivery was 45 minutes which isn't bad for a Friday night (and on a holiday weekend at that!). We tried the crab Rangoon per the recommendations below and were so glad we did!! I agree it is the best I have ever had! We also had the general tsos and sweet and sour chicken. The sweet and sour sauce was a little too sweet for my taste but otherwise it was some of the better chinese food we have ever had. We will definitely be eating there again! read more

Food is tasteless. I got crab rangoon. It was cooked dark and soggy. very little cream cheese and it tasted like raw cream cheese. I got cashew chicken. Very little chicken. Very little cashews. Three of four small slices of water chestnuts and maybe two or three slices of mushrooms. Mostly chunks of celery. Very little taste. I wasn't expecting much as we walked into the restaurant during the winter storm/polar vortex that gripped the area but was pleasantly surprised. The orange chicken was perfect. I ordered delivery from here for the first time & the call was a little confusing. However, the delivery was made & it wasn't that long of a wait at all. Maybe 10-15 minutes is how long I waited.
