Worst chinese food ever. Threw away egg rolls. Not sure what was in them. HORRIBLE.

Running a business is difficult; writing a negative review pains me. I ordered a wonton soup and chicken lo mein. The photo speaks for itself. I was chewing on the wontons, but didn't taste or feel like I was eating any meat. Finally, I took one out and opened it, and it clearly showed how much meat was in it. The photo speaks for itself. That is not acceptable. Chicken lo mein is just the name; there's a little chicken in it. You eat noodles. The workers are pleasant, but must take better care of the store's appearance. I do not know why most Chinese take-out places are in disarray, with empty boxes and piles of soda bottles and cans crowding the entrance. We have been customers of Great Wall in Pine Beach for over a decade. Recently, our WEEKLY order (which ranges from $50 and up on lunch specials alone) had a General Tso's chicken with tons of pink inside. Not just his order, but the free one they give with a large order as well. My son told me about it when I saw him the next day. I called, and tried to explain. The woman (who sometimes delivers also, and I tipped when she brought the order the day before) was screaming and really mad. I asked for a replacement and she tried to blow me off, telling me to ask next time I order, because they were too busy to deliver it. I said no, I wanted it for my son, and would pick it up. She agreed, but said only one small order to replace the two. I tried to engage in a conversation with her re: we are frequent customers and I would not lie to her about one small item in a huge order. When I went to pick up the order, she was super rude and nasty again. I again tried to engage in a conversation, reminding her that we order AT LEAST ONCE PER WEEK, for YEARS. She waved me off and walked away and kept saying "yeah, yeah, yeah as she waved me away. I called her back and said there would be no reason for me to lie about one or 2 items on a huge order, and they know we are regular customers for ages. Again, she waved me off and walked away. Look, people have bad days and I understand. Inflation is kicking everyone's butt, and I understand. I have ignored the REPEATED price increases by them because my Mom, who has mobility issues loves their food, as do we all. (Every menu I have has slight increases on multiple items). So, all of that being said, I am understanding, but not to the point of being blown off by a business I give my money too regularly. Needless to say, we will be finding a new business to frequent, one that values their customers. read more

Find this place by accident during bike riding. Order 5 dishes with 2 small soups. Great price with good quality food and taste. They cost little over $52 dollars and we will come back this takeout restaurant again. read more

Just moved to Pine Beach. Found a new Chinese food take out GREAT WALL 212 Atlantic City Blvd close by and found the menu online. Tried it for the first time and first question I asked was 'you do have small portions, right?'. Answer was YES. I ordered a SMALL Beef Pepper and Onion $7.85 and SMALL Pork Fried Rice $5.90. When my husband picked up the order he did not question the amount of $20.10 because he was not the one that placed the order. When I opened the bag the portions were large! I did not see the receipt until after we ate. But as far as the food, there was a very small amount of beef in the Pepper Steak and not one piece was edible...it wasn't even easy to cut since the pieces were large. I was only able to eat the pepper and onions. The Pork Fried rice had almost no pork and not very tasty. Not much competition close by and easily able to get away with bad food and practice. My husband found the order ready in 5 minutes after I was told it be 20 minutes. He also asked how long they were in Pine Beach and the answer was 2 months. The food was dry,chewy and so not worth it!!! Worst place ever! Not covid safe as they say. You need to take your sauces from bins other people have touched! They should be prepackaged and given to you. Will never spend my hard earned money here again! read more

Just tried for the first time recently and now one of my favorites. Everything was perfect/ fresh and the people are so nice. I love how if you spend $20 you get a large wonton soup as that is my favorite. They also gave me so many bags of crispy noodles and did not charge for them all which I thought was so very nice. It seems for most Chinese Take Out places people either love them or hate them and not much in-between. Personally I love the Great Wall. They are my favorite local Chinese take out place and I always get my take out from here. I have never had a problem and the staff has never been rude to me either. Gross. I live in Beachwood and would always order from this place bc I didn't know any better. I found a new Chinese place in toms river (Golden Garden Restaurant) across from target. I have been ordering from there for about 4 month now. Tonight I was rushing around and decided to order from GREAT WALL instead, all I can say.... Disgusting! Now that I compare it to the new place , I can't believe I ever use to eat this. This Food is not fresh at all and my bonesless spare ribs were dry and rubbery with no flavor. I hope the owners read this and steps up their food game. Bc this food is just awful. read more

The lo mein can be hit or miss. Love the general tso chicken and the pan fried dumplings. Delivery is always prompt.

Food is great but being inside and ordering waiting for food and being able to look around is plain scary . Makes you think twice about actually ordering, not very appealing . read more

Food was great. But ordering is a bit awkward. You have to speak loud & slow Be sure to go over the information several times to be sure it got translated correctly. It may seem to be a P.I.A. But the food is really good and delivery is fast. read more
