I don't know why we never dropped by this place to try the food. We always walked by. It's a cute little spot to dine in, just inside of China town mall. I'm so glad we finally did go in to try it while craving some authentic Chinese food. Because it did NOT disappoint. Every dish we got had so much flavor. I forgot the names of what we ordered but the salt and pepper calamari rings with the chili dipping sauce was awesome, the sautéed chicken dish was so full of flavor and spice and cooked crisp to perfection. We also tried the fried intestines which that was also very tasty. Even the eggplant with fish sauce was tasty! Some stuff we wanted to try were out like the fried crab and or lobster but I definitely will be going back. They also sold tangulu (not sure how To spell it) Its covered fruit and many people stopped to buy some. I never had one before so I was tempted and got The orange tangulu dessert. It was good but I'm not into really sweet things. If you are you definitely would enjoy it.

I'm pretty sure I am in Salt Lake City Chinatown. It's more like an Asian mall, though. This was really not the place I intended on eating at it, but I was in the mood for soup and this looked like a good choice. This is definitely a hole in the wall place. A small room with an opening to the kitchen. I would really like it to be a little more homey, if there was maybe some photos or artwork on the walls since it was kind of bare. The service was good, and it was more like eating in someone's house rather than a restaurant, which is fine with me. I will come back the next time I'm in town.

We had a good experience here at 7pm on a weekday evening. We didn't have to wait for a table, food came out fast. The eggplant was very good and I would order it again. It's sweet and salty in the right way. The garlic ribs, even though in the recommended category, were a bit dry for me so it's not quite my favorite dish. The golden buns were a great, basic simple dessert.

This place is truly a hit or miss!! There was a FLY in the a choi...... the fried buns were crisp on the outside however the inside was super dry and bland The pork rib yam soup did not taste as smooth, felt like extra condiments were added to cover up non fresh pork. The yam was OK. The pork intestines were also OK, can't comment on the freshness of the intestines as it was masked by the spiciness of the peppers. Do not recommend. Service: 3/5 Ambiance: good bright lightning. Cozy small restaurant.

I feel like we have just discovered a gem!! Went to this restaurant today for the first time with a Taiwanese friend for lunch. The restaurant is small but very clean. We were greeted and seated immediately. My friend ordered a spicy fish soup (sorry can't remember the name), and I ordered the Fried Squid Rings (A59) & Seafood Chow Mein (A56). The Fried Squid was delicious! Crispy on the outside and just the right amount of tenderness inside, not rubbery at all. They put some dry seasonings on the side, absolutely enjoyed that with the squid! Both of were amazed by the size and taste of the spicy fish soup dish! It had knotted konjac noodle, potatoes, lotus root, seaweed, wakame and few other things in it. The broth was so tasty (little spicy, that's exactly why I loved it) that I couldn't stop just sipping it :P The seafood Chow Mein was good, but again the portion size surprised us...in a good way. Nowadays most of the times restaurants put very little meat/seafood in the dish...but that wasn't the care here. The item had enough seafood items for everyone to share. I'm actually very excited about this place, definitely going back very soon with my family to try other items! I just wish they had a lunch menu for weekdays with slightly lower price. Other than that...I'm super happy and satisfied with this place ^_^

I've walked by this place every time I'm in town for work but decided to give it a try today. Order the garlic pork ribs and seafood fried rice. The fried rice was okay. The ribs had no flavor aside from the garlic pieces thrown on top. The reviews are high but it missed the mark for me.

Food was delish! The fav was the sautéed intestine's and beef fried noodles. The beef friend noodles was Smokey, good texture, and good flavor. The garlic ribs were good too. Service was amazing! The daughter is so cute. So nice and so helpful. If you're looking for some authentic Chinese food without the msg. This is your place.

This was absolutely one of the worst meals I've ever had delivered! In the first place, the seafood chow mein had three tiny size shrimp in it! The $30 braised fish didn't even come with any white rice! Spent $70 and through most of it in the trash!

This was my first time here. I went in to order takeout and visually the place was clean with a friendly atmosphere. It is Sunday so only a couple tables being occupied. The staff at the counter was courteous, polite, helpful and super nice. My order didn't take long to complete and have me on my way. Upon getting home dug right in and to be honest not impressed. Not horrible but I've had much better fried rice. Edible, however pretty bland. And for what I received, value and flavor of the meal was mediocre at best. I don't want to be too hasty and say I wouldn't recommend this restaurant until I have another go and see if tonight was just a bad night. It happens.

I would give 10 out of 5 stars cause it's just above perfection. As a visitor in Salt Lake City, The food is beyond my expectations. I love spicy Szechuan food and asked the lady for extra spicy, it turned out to be one of the best Szechuan dishes I had in the US. It's so authentic and I was told that the chef really put efforts into the dishes. Appreciated! The staffs are friendly, welcoming, super helpful and nice, good experience! Food+service, strongly recommended respectfully.

    Egg with chive

Being a rather discerning eater originally from Hong Kong, I give this place my stamp of approval. I didn't expect to find such an authentic chinese restaurant serving food mostly from Northern China here in SLC, but here it is! One way to tell if the chef knows what he is doing is to order chive fried egg and Shanghai braised pork. They showed proper execution (both pork and egg are soft) that I would be happy with in China. Fried water spinach is again authentic. We also had leek with lamb. It is different from what I know but there is so much regional variation so I can't comment on authenticity but it is surely tasty!!! Finally we ordered veg with tofu for a vegan and we were so surprised how authentic and delicious it was.

This tastes like mom's kitchen if mom had a high flamed gas stove. The dishes that benefited from that smoky hot wok flavor had it. I was so excited to eat I forgot to take pics of all the dishes at the table. Green beans with garlic was so tasty, I finished the leftovers the same night, I remembered to take a photo in the takeout container. The cauliflower (I don't know the actual name but it's stir fried, spicy and comes with peppers) had wok hei and I couldn't stop eating it. Beef rolls is the sophisticated auntie of the scallion pancake. Think of it like an asian burrito with thin sliced beef, fresh scallion and cilantro, and a touch of hoisin all hugged together with a crispy tasty scallion pancake. The shredded potato tastes like the best potato salad that isn't your picnic potato salad. The shredded potatoes were quickly blanched then stir fried preserving the crunch and crispness similar to al dente pasta. Seasoning was on point. The homiest flavor came from the stewed short rib. The rib pieces were braised in a soy and star anise sauce like what you find in Taiwanese beef noodle soup. The peels potatoes were cut rustically and just cooked through and not mushy. Authentic flavors and freshness like this is so so hard to come by. I can taste the quality of the ingredients used. One tip I have for selecting authentic food is by looking at the customers. If the customers are all Asian eating at an Asian restaurant, you know the food is going to be good. Service was 10/10, waitress was super polite and stopped by to chat with us about the food and SLC. I am from out of town but I grew up eating at NYC Asian restaurants and this is as good as if not better. If you happen to stop by the largest Costco in the world, make a pit stop here to refuel after all those steps.

I got to put my order in pretty quickly and it wasn't long till my shu mai and haw gar came out. My fried shrimp dumplings and taro cake came shortly after. I was in heaven! The dim sum here is so good! I had everything to myself since my husband doesn't really eat Chinese food. The fried shrimp dumplings are my favorite! They are crispy. The shrimp in it middle is savory and chewy. The sweet sauce it is paired with is a match made in heaven! The taro cake was hot and charry from the wok. The shu mai and haw gar were good but you can tell they were previously heated and just sitting in the warmer. They could have been hotter and the exterior could have been softer. Even though they were perfect, they were still fabulous. The service isn't the best and after my first initial visit I knew to keep my expectations low. I come here for the food and it delivers every time! I ate everything and didn't have an ounce of guilt for doing so. We don't have dim sum like this in Boise so I made sure I enjoyed and savored every bite! The worst of the negative side is that we were seated next to the fish tanks and just looking at them was nausea-inducing. A couple of the were full of algae and all were dirty. For the rest of it, meh. The BBQ duck was medium. Quite good flavor, but very overcooked. We also got the mixed meat & veggie pot which was not good. 80% of the "meat" was fried tofu, the rest of it was very overcooked, and it had no real flavor. The staff was extremely attentive though--and generous. They actually gave us an extra cup of hot & sour soup because we were sharing. And they gave our daughter extra fortune cookies.
