We visited weekly for six months, allowing Leo to transition to solid food and ensuring we developed a strong bond. Bill was patient and careful, making sure Leo was ready and comfortable before bringin him home. Now, after nearly 4 years, Leo is happy, healthy, and thriving in our home. He was 17 years old as far as we knew and came from an animal hoarding scenario) I had filled out paperwork and made a payment to claim the bird. And upon leaving and discussing Bill's comments and general attitude towards me, we turned around and I canceled my adoption agreement the same day. His list of comments were endless, alot of which I will include here. And might I add were delivered in an overly customer service-y level of passive aggression. (Ive worked in retail almost 10 years, I know it when I hear it.) - My sun conure is on a seed diet (hes very picky and will not touch any veggies i give him.) That was an issue - the cage i had left from my late cockatiel was "too small and he'd never put any bird in that cage." (My Tiel spent the last 5 years of his life in that cage with no issues. No crest fatigue, always ample food and water. Bird was arthritic and had lowered mobility in his old age) - Attested that I was wrong about being safe with my animals. I have 4 dogs and 2 cats. Dogs are always outside when my bird is out of his cage and my cats show no interest in my birds or are never in the same room as my bird. I was met with a "thats what they all say" comment and "it only takes once" - Continued to make me feel guilty about my own birds passing away "prematurely" in his eyes (17 yr old tiel, 10 year old tiel, both of which were rescues from animal hoarding scenarios so we have clue how old they truly were, nor what their health was like.) -Asked if I had an Avian light. I said my birds were near an window and he insisted "oh thats not enough because of the high efficiency windows in all homes nowadays." (Also felt the need to mention he was a realtor?) I wound up canceling my adoption because it simply feels like Bill is setting potential bird owners up to fail with his harsh criteria. There was so much i could see that he would find issues with in my home and probably deem me "unworthy" to adopt one of his birds. I can promise the birds I would get from him would have a better life than they currently do in a dark, dirty, run down home thats been converted into a bird shop. If you're seeking a feathered friend I suggest taking your business elsewhere unless you want to be plagued by anxiety of losing the $300-$800+ amount youd be paying for a bird you would never receive because you were "an unworthy owner" (Literal clause in the paper work that stated if Exotic Bird Ranch deemed a client unfit to own a bird that no refund would be given for the adoption price.) You can only have 2 pups per room now, which is different than in the past. This was not a problem in the past so I don't know if they overbooked or this is a new change but I knew my pups were well Taken care of while they were at camp. It's a shame I had the one up before they kenneled him by himself.

I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years. Today, after the 6th or 7th time of this happening I made the decision that I can no longer support them. I was purchasing $50 worth of product and handed the employee a $100 bill and they couldn't give me change. I was then told to go to the bank and break the bill and come back. I'm this isn't a dollar store, this is a "high end" pet food store that can't take cash.

While we were out in Fort Collins, we figured to grab new things for the hellhounds at The Mausoleum. This place had some good rolled cheeks for a reasonable price, and it is their favorite. We also found a few decently durable toys with ropes in them so the barking dorks at home think their new toys aren't detroyed seconds after they get them. Some prices are a bit high, though, even for this goblin. All in all; Decent place to hit up.

I didn't get the lady's name at the register but she totaled up my purchase at 82.08$ I had exactly 82$ in my wallet I handed it to her and laughingly said I owe you 8 cents.. she took my cash and then said do you want to put the 8 cents on your card? I was like you're kidding right? She then said 8cents is 8cents.. I was dumbfounded with disbelief.. so I said I'll be right back I went out to my truck and dug up a quarter brought back into her and said keep the change maybe you can help out the next good customer that's short a few cents!
