The doggy day camp was awesome. My pup had so much fun The only problem is I booked the day camp for our 3 pups over a month in advance and they neglected to tell us the pups couldn't be together after hours. You can only have 2 pups per room now, which is different than in the past. This was not a problem in the past so I don't know if they overbooked or this is a new change but I knew my pups were well Taken care of while they were at camp. It's a shame I had the one up before they kenneled him by himself. read more

Two very unfortunate situations with these groomers, would not recommend this place. The first time we went, my dog unfortunately had an accident during blow drying which was understandable to be unpleased about but very out of normal for him. He's never done that with a groomer before, just must have had to go beforehand. But, the second time grooming here was really what will make me never go back. One of the groomers did not inform us of a pretty significant up-charge prior to his groom which when addressed about it after seeing the ticket, blamed not telling us on us interrupting her which was just NOT the case at all & did not happen. She simply should have been sure to notify the customer of an upcharge before we left. They also, because of the previous experience with him, DID NOT even attempt to keep his hair the length we wanted & instead shaved him down before bathing to almost complete skin everywhere over his body because they did not want to blow dry him. I even asked for a specific length. We also found cuts and bleeding multiple areas. Truly felt like they did not care to try to save our pups fur due to the previous experience which would not have happened again as we made sure to have him go to the bathroom first. We ended up speaking to a manager who removed the up-charge, but it was truly a rough experience with blame put on us and unprofessional arguing. Not good customer service besides a few ladies at the front apologizing. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

Some of the Dog Groomers appears to be unhappy working here. They try to add on extra upgrades even if your pet doesn't need the upgrade services. They get commissions from the upgrades and will tell you they won't groom your pet without getting them. According to the Store Manager, they are not supposed to do this, but they do. I called to speak to someone about an overcharge on our bill. She said they were busy and would call back in 10 minutes. She did call back, but it was 2 1/2 hours later. I understand that you get busy, but please be realistic when you make a commitment. We had asked if we could get our appointment time moved up, which you accommodated but didn't verbally inform us that there would be a $15 upcharge for that. You refused to remove the charge and were abrupt and rude on the phone. Very poor customer service! read more

I took my standard poodle in to get groomed this weekend. He lives in a remote part of wyoming with me so he goes a lot longer without a haircut than most dogs, however has very sensitive ears so his vet and I work very hard to maintain them and keep infection out. I disclosed all of this to my groomer and she stated there would be some dematting fees which I was happy to pay to make my fur baby comfortable again. I got him back and the groomer told me everything went great. I noticed he was shaking a lot after the appointment so I looked at his ears and one of them had little nicks on it. Now three days later my dogs ear is highly inflamed, when I called to store to simply see what happened I was accused by the manager of neglecting my dog and she also kept claiming his mats caused the inner ear irritation. I asked how this could be possible since I get his ears plucked often and visit the vet frequently to make sure his ears are healthy and she responded with a terrible attitude claiming my vet is not a groomer so they could not possibly have accessed his ear correctly which i thought was absurd. I am really disappointed I spent over $100 to groom him and now am going to have to spend another several hundred to fix a mistake they made. I am also shocked at the terrible lack of customer empathy, our dogs are very important to us and to treat a customer as if they do not care about their baby is extremely insensitive and rude. Pluto is a very happy dog who spends his days running around the mountains in wyoming, working dogs are not perfectly groomed because they are working. I took my dog to their Pet Hotel for one night to start with. I took his dry food and wet food I had another dog that was being treated at CSU and needed recovery time. Everyone was super nice. His stay extended to 3 nights. I took enough wet/ dry dog food for two meals everyday The extremely disappointing and unacceptable happened when I picked my dog up. The lady went to get my dog and his blanket and toys. What she brought back along with his toys was his first nights dinner of chicken breast that was never given. I asked why because that was half his dinner and she goes I don't know let me get someone. The woman that came back was totally unbelievably horrible. I asked what happened why he wasn't given his food. She goes must have been over looked. I asked did he get everything thing else. Yes. Then I asked was it refrigerated the whole time?She goes yes. I pick it up then it is room temp and about all blown up like setting out at room temp. She lied. Now I just got home and unpacked toys and found his dry dog food. They missed one whole meal. I usually buy my cat's food from amazon. It's a Hills brand food to prevent struvite crystals from forming in the bladder. When it wan't available on Amazon I saw this petsmart carried it. However, when I tried to purchase it there I was told I needed a prescription number. Huh? You're seriously not going to let me buy this exorbitantly expensive bag of cat food? It's not a medication or a controlled substance, it merely contains less crystal forming minerals than regular cat food. Then the manager came over (acting like I was attempting to score an illicit drug) and said "its illegal for us to sell Hill's Prescription food without an rx, the USDA forbids it." I think he meant the FDA, the agency that actually regulates pet food. The staff's overreaction seemed a bit strange. It turns out there is a class action lawsuit against petsmart and Hills for marketing practices are both deceptive and unfair. Because the food contains no medication it has no material difference from nonprescription cat food, it is in fact not regulated by the FDA and is just a marketing ploy. read more

I just took my dog in to have his nails trimmed. The groomer that did his nails was Elise. She was really nice and did a good job with him. However, while I was checking him in and waiting for my dog to be finished, I waited by the counter and was disappointed in the way the other groomers were treating dogs that did not have their owners there to watch. One of the girls was shaving a large dog and the dog kept moving its paw. She kept telling it no and when it wouldn't stop she made a disgruntled sound and said "this dog is testing my patience." She looked up and made eye contact with me, realizing that I was watching her. She told another groomer to help her because she was too frustrated with the dog, and again that the dog was testing her patience. Maybe if her patience is tested so easily, she should not be afforded the opportunity of having a job that requires such patience with living beings. Especially since she was so willing to express her frustration in front of me, a customer. Another groomer was being taught by another groomer how to grind a dogs nails. She showed him how to do it and gave him some tips. She then let him do it on his own with her back turned to him. He must have gone too short on the dogs nails because the dog yelped and jumped. When the dog jumped the groomer jumped as well and swiped the dog with the grinder, pulling out a chunk of hair. The groomer tried to hide it and pull the hair out really quick, throwing it on the ground and pushing it under the table with his foot. I guess they get a 1 minute training and then get to groom the dogs themselves. I wish I had read Yelp and Google reviews before coming here. I went because of the ease of being able to walk-in for a nail trim because my normal groomer is completely booked. If you absolutely must bring your dog here for some reason, make sure you stay and watch them closely. Or maybe request Elise. read more

So I am contacting corporate about the ridiculous treatment I received in your Fort Collins Store. I brought my 2 year old PudelPointer in for grooming today, and when they called me to pick her up, the person I spoke with on the phone informed me that they had to add on an extra special handling charge because Loki wouldn't allow them to shave her feet and was being unruly during the portion of her groom where they had to shave her legs. While I was not happy with this, I asked them if they were able to do her nail grind and they said no. I informed the person on the phone that I would like to have been called before this needed to happen because I am on a budget - regardless of whether it was only $10. She said they adjusted the price so that it was the same total since they couldnt do the nail grind. Ok. Fine. So I arrived at the store to pick her up, and was informed that I had to pay at the register outside of the grooming place before picking her up. Ok. Also Fine. When I got the invoice there was no detail on it whatsoever aside from the grooming base charge and a different package than I had originally asked for on the invoice. So I asked the cashier (who was very kind btw) what the extra charges were. She said she didn't know, but would have someone find out. In just a few moments an older gentleman came up to the register to help me. I handed him the invoice and said that I was told that some things couldnt be done on this package and that I wanted to know what was actually done. He took the invoice and was gone for about 3 minutes before returning. The first thing he said was that they already took $25 off. To which I replied - 'thats not what I was asking' I was ok with the price but I just wanted to know what had not been done. He went back a second time to get the answer to the question I had originally asked. He came out again, said they had taken $15 off, then corrected himself to $10 and once again I replied that I wasnt questioning the price, I just wanted a list of things that were done and not done. He continued to justify the $10 charge which I was not questioning at all by telling me in a very aggressive tone that my dog was uncontrollable and thats why they had the extra charge. Again...I wasn't questioning the price or the extra charge to this man. I responded. 'Sir, my dog is not uncontrollable', and that he was very rude for saying this. He repeated himself again stating that my dog was uncontrollable. (Bear in mind even if she had been, that was incredibly rude to say it in that manner). He then started to backpedal, saying was uncontrollable but it was probably just today and saying they had to have two people handle her. I asked for the manager, because I didn't appreciate being spoken to so rudely and that it was unacceptable to speak to customers that way about their pets. Guess what, guys, turns out the rude dude IS the manager. I told him that it was unfortunate that he was so rude to customers, and he walked away, back into the grooming salon. I paid the invoice and went to get my dog, where I was greeted with by a lady who already had her on leash ready to go. I asked her if Loki was banned from coming back because of her behavior with the groomer, and she looked at me with a smirk and said "No you are". I was beyond shocked, embarrassed, and livid at the way the store manager treated me, and then banned me for NO reason. I was not rude to him in any way, HE was rude to me and then abused his power to humiliate me in this experience by banning me from coming back. You better believe I will be filing a formal complaint with corporate, and encouraging people to find another grooming salon and store to go to. This man needs to be fired for the way he treats customers. read more

The worst is Kenneth. I had an appointment and was running 10 minutes behind. I called to let him know I was on my way. I arrived just 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment and (even though I checked called to let him know I would be there), Kenneth refused to honor the appointment. I came in to pickup some dental chews and get a name tag for my dog. Didn't have a problem finding things as aisles are clearly marked. There was a friendly store attendant who came by with a treat for my doggie. There is a machine to customize your name tag with an laser engraving of your choice. There's a video showing you how to insert the tag into the machine. Takes at least 10 minutes but count on at least 15 if the person in front of you is a slow reader :) Make sure you keep your receipt - you'll need a code from the receipt to initiate your tag engraving. Noteworthy are the grooming products. Just when you think the company CHI has products just for you, they have now decided your pets need them too! Fort Collins,tore associates tried to charge me higher nail care fee that I didn't ask, and were reluctant to do anal gland cleaning service. One tried to assign my dog to someone else, but they were all busy (plus avoiding the dirty job), so she took my dog to behind the back door. Who knows what she did, my dog came back, she said it was full. I'm thinking, phew, my dog will be ok till next month, right? Wrong! My dog was licking his butt, dragging it on the carpet, acting like he needed cleaning. This was all after going to the salon. So, I took him back 2 days later and asked if they could check if it was clean. Three associates made a big fuss over my request, like, "you have to bring him to the vet instead." and refused to even just "check". All I asked was if it was actually cleaned! Manager involved and long story short, turned out his gland was still full, i.e. the associate didn't do a job that she was supposed to do, or nicely put, she didn't complete the job. Then they tried to charge me for this time again, excuse me? This is due to the associate who didn't do the job that I paid for 2 days ago! Manager stopped issuing a bill and said no charge, but I was deeply impressed with the associate's nerve to try to even charge me again, let alone no apology at all! If they don't want to do the job, they shouldn't offer the service, if they do, don't hire an associate who doesn't want to do certain jobs. Dogs all need some cares, and I am not comfortable going to the salon whose associate I cannot trust if they are actually doing the job behind the back door. My dog is a regular customer and many associates always have a "look" when we come in. It's not welcoming, we can tell that! I know it's not a glamorous or pretty job but my dog has his own need. As Petsmart advocates, "we do anything!" don't they really do anything? Also, when asked if they could check if the job was done, don't make a fuss or preach me to go to vet instead. I know my dog and if I need to, I will. That's not their business telling customers to go somewhere else when asked if they really did the job customers pay for. If any of you have a dog whose anal gland cleaned, observe your dog how they behave after coming back. Dogs will tell you if Petsmart associates are doing the job or not. read more

Took our cat here for one year and as soon as the yearly care plan was paid and over we stopped using them. We would get monthly payments of 34 and the last 4 times they charged 50 because our automatic payment was declined. We have the correct info at the beginning and twice had to get it corrected since staff had typed in the wrong last digit 2 times. Also had to take our cat in 2 times to get her spayed. The first time they said her temperature was too high. When we got her back she was covered in hair(her own). It was like the grabbed the crap out of her neck, excuse my language. After we got home I noticed her right ear was pointed to the right, like it was stuck. Since then every now and then her ear turns crooked, like a nerve or muscle is bothering it. And one more thing, the vet we seen the first 4 times spoke with condescension and seemed very passive aggressive when answering questions. In the same day I went to Petco to find a thermostat I decided to come to PetSmart hoping they'd have one for my ball python. I stopped an employee to ask him if they had any and he seemed extremely confused about what I was asking and showed me thermometers. When I had explained I was looking for the object that controls the under tank heaters for most reptile belly heat he looked at me surprised and said he had no idea they even made those. By finding out how little he knew about the proper care of a ball python it made sense yet again why just like Petco they do not properly care for their ball pythons. I'll admit I enjoy their deals when they have sales on substrate or food for my other animals but seeing the damage that is done to the reptiles is terrible. They take amazing care of my pup at their doggy day camp, to the point that my baby girl (who has terrible separation anxiety when left with anyone but me) can't wait to be left there. She has had a few injuries playing with her friends but PetSmart lets me know over the phone and keeps an eye on it for me. I've gone here for over a year now and not had a single issue and I'm a picky dog owner! If you need a place that cares about your pet, is relatively inexpensive and has great hours, look no further than here! If I could give 10 stars I would. Don't ever take your dog here for grooming services. They are rude and unprofessional; all I can say is I experienced the worst customer service here. I could only imagine how they would treat my dog. We brought him here for a groom and after dropping him off at 830am we got a call at 10 saying they were stopping because he still had stitches from his neuter which happened 3 weeks ago. We asked if they could talk to the Bainfield vet to confirm and they refused. When we got there 30mins later our dog was soaking wet. The vet however was awesome they came to the rescue - picked him up and toweled him off and gave him and us reassurances and showed kindness - super responsive and cared for our pup. read more

From a customer service perspective, the staff at the Fort Collins PetSmart are woefully inept. Regardless of the time I go into that store I spend at least 10-15 minutes in line at the registers. There is never more than one cashier at the check line and it takes that cashier 10 minutes of waiting to see if their fellow associates will notice before they call for help. If you made the mistake of ordering something online for pickup in store, you're in for a disaster. Given they don't have a designated pickup area as the website says they just shove your order wherever there is room in the store on the sales floor and you'd better hope they can find it. I ordered a brand new cat tree online and when I found it in the store since it was sitting out for anyone to touch there were customer's dogs sitting all over it! Absolutely stupid. There is no consistency regarding associate training. In the fish department for example, you might have an associate who knows an acceptable amount of information, but then you have these associates who all but advertise they are employed there because no one else will take them. Shameful operation even for a low-end retail establishment. Amazon here I come for all my supplies! read more

We take our dog here every month to get a bath and a "ferminator". She always comes home looking great and the service has almost completely cut down on her shedding all over our house. Ive noticed that they are extremely busy on the weekend so just a heads up, make your appointment a head of time or on a weekday. For the most part the techs are friendly and seem pretty good with the dogs. I even had one of them call me after to thank me and ask if she could setup another appointment for me. Didnt expect that from a dog grooming salon! Lost a star because it is usually pretty dirty in there. Im not sure if its possible to keep it clean with all the dogs coming in and out but maybe some air fresheners and a good sweep from time to time? Just a thought. read more
