I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Dog Pawlour in Fort Collins. Before my dog's grooming appointment, I was very clear and explicit that a sensitive area was not to be shaved. Despite those instructions, they shaved it anyway. Since the appointment, my pup has been visibly uncomfortable, agitated, and appears to be in pain. As a pet owner, it is heartbreaking to see your dog hurt after trusting a groomer with their care. What is most frustrating is the lack of accountability. Aside from saying "sorry," there has been little acknowledgment of the seriousness of the situation or responsibility for ignoring clear instructions that resulted in my dog being injured. I am sharing this so other pet owners can make an informed decision. Please be cautious and make sure your instructions are followed if you choose to bring your pet here. read more

Prior to the change in ownership, my experiences have been 5-stars which means that for an extensive number of years the service philosophy and ethics were remarkable. I have taken many dogs throughout the many years and always tipped extremely generously. The expansion in ownership to Brittany, Preston, Hayden and MacKenzie may have provided the financial means for the business to continue, but the quality of business philosopy and ethics did not continue and instead have degraded dramatically. On Saturday 07/18/26 (heatwave 100+), I showed up for 2-dog groom appointments and waited outside for doors to open and be let in while staff inside wandered around. My two little 20# dogs were getting hot and thirsty. After 10-min a worker opened the door to tell me that they do not open for another 20-min and that I would have to leave and come back. I was there for appointments and in the time-frame to comply with their policy, but I was not provided any services. I have since left two messages at # 970-484-3644 stating the events and that no charges were to be applied to my credit card. I have NOT received any calls from staff or owners, and my teenage daughter's credit card (a minor) was indeed charged (not mine) without her approval and she is not even on their computer system or on my account. What an embarrassing example they set for other community businesses that truly have their hearts and ethics in the right place. read more

Pros: -loved the individual enclosed room. -The hose nozzle is easy on/off. -Aprons available -Blow dryer in room -ushered me in thru side door for leash reactive dog Cons: -Need a eye/hook to keep room door closed -No ramp, so hard for dogs to get in and out of tub -There wasn't an ear cover as pictured on the website. Two towels and aprons are there. The water has multiple different nozzle options and is the perfect temperature for your doggo. The dryer is industrial strength SO BRING YOUR EAR PLUGS. Went here to get my pup and my friend's dog to get a bath/wash here! I saw great reviews online and it is conveniently located off of College. We were provided with: leatheresque aprons, shampoo, conditioner, facial wash, brushes, happy hood, and towels. At first, I thought that the shampoo and conditioner were on the more watery/thin side. However, we realized that the shampoo and conditioner were both watered down. We couldn't tell with the shampoo, but it was clear with the conditioner with 75% of what was coming out being water and the remaining being the actual conditioner. It smelt like a pool locker room, which is understandable. In addition to this, there were SO many dogs barking, I think from the Doggy Daycare. I think it was overwhelming for other dogs who were waiting in the lobby and for my own dog as well. I think I will either find another place to wash my dog or just stick to doing it at home. read more

If I could give the Dog Pawlour more than five stars, I would. After years of grooming my standard poodle Zooey myself because I was tired of paying someone to groom her and then having to "fix" things afterwards, one of my poodle peeps raved about Kelsey, a groomer at the Dog Pawlour at the time. Looking into it a bit, it turned out that the Dog Pawlour had 2 nationally certified Master Groomers at the shop, Kelsey being one of them. That was enough for me to give them a try, so I called to make an appointment. The first available appointment with Kelsey was several weeks off -- really not unexpected when someone has a happy and loyal clientele -- so I also made a few daycare reservations leading up to the appointment so that Zooey could get used to the environment and build up some positive associations with the shop before her appointment. It turns out that on Zooey's first day of daycare Kelsey had a last-minute cancellation, and since Zooey was already there she called to see if we wanted the spot. I jumped at the chance, giving some general instructions about how I liked Zooey groomed over the phone. As I worked through the rest of the day a few little things I'd forgotten to tell her popped into my head, so I wondered how happy I would be when I picked her up. It turns out that the worry was unwarranted -- those little things (eg, leaving the hair on the legs longer than on the body, not shaving too high from the base of the tail ... etc.) are things that a good groomer should just know, and Kelsey did not disappoint. Zooey's groom was gorgeous, and she was happy and showing no signs of stress when I picked her up. After a few grooming appointments Kelsey decided to strike out on her own, so Brittany, the Dog Pawlor's owner and also a Master Groomer, agreed to work Zooey into her schedule even though she was not taking new clients at the time. The transition was seamless -- Zooey's grooms have been gorgeous as ever. With the new year and some changes to Brittany's schedule we've had to switch to Saturday, a day when there isn't daycare and they close earlier than they do during the week, and I have to admit that on our first Saturday grooming appointment I screwed up my schedule such that I wouldn't be able to pick up Zooey before they closed. Brittany offered to stay late, and was kind and gracious when I was able to come, almost an hour after they closed. I would not have blamed her for charging me a late fee, or giving me a stern talking-to, but she simply asked me to let her know if I have schedule constraints next time and she'd be sure to work on Zooey first. So yeah, 10 stars for Brittany. This review is getting to be quite long and I haven't even gotten to daycare, so I'll just mention a few things that I love about them. I love that it is a smaller daycare operation, and that the dogs seem to get plenty of positive attention. Sure, other daycare facilities have to meet some minimum staff-to-dog ratio, but when you get too many dogs I think the focus shifts more toward deterring bad behavior. I also love that the staff truly seem to love dogs. I distinctly remember a day at the farmer's market last summer, when someone ran up to us, enthusiastically greeted Zooey and crouched down to love on her, Zooey all wiggly and happy too. As I stood there wondering if this was someone I knew but didn't recognize through their mask, she looked up and said "oh, sorry, I work at the Dog Pawlour" ... mystery solved. Lastly, I love that they have special daycare events scheduled throughout the year -- birthday parties the first Friday of the month, holiday events, specific enrichment activities, craft days. Zooey apparently loved "Treasure Hunt Day," and sentimental sort that I am I cherish the little crafts they've helped Zooey do (paw prints and a Christmas ornament). These happy little surprises keep things from getting too routine, I think. To sum up, The Dog Pawlour is a great, customer-focused, small business that truly is an asset for dog lovers in Ft. Collins. I wish them many years of success! read more

First, I want to start this with the groomer gets 5 stars. Tatiana has been my dog's groomer for 14 years, and she Always does a wonderful job. She just moved to this job From Petsmart. Now for The Dog Pawlour. First the location. It's terrible. You can only enter the business if you are coming from the north. The parking lot is small and hard to navigate in and out of. Also getting out to College Ave. Without a traffic light is like fighting in a war zone. But here is the real reason I gave this a 2-star review. And will not return. When I called to make a reservation, I was asked what services I needed, and Was quoted a price of $63.00. But when I came to pick up my dog, the price Was now $68.00. OK, fair enough, I could live with that. I think Tatiana is that good. But here is where my biscuits really got burned. I was charged An extra $5.00 just to make an appointment. Now the total came to $73.00. When I would book with Petsmart, what was quoted at the time I made the reservation was what I was charged. Imagine, these people think They are some Beverly Hills high class place where they charge extra for the Privilege of bring you dog to groom with them. I love Tatiana, and I really hate to lose her after 14 years of her lovingly taking Care of our family's dog's, but coming away with being charged an extra $10.00, and others things than made be feel unwelcomed and uncomfortable (like asking for my credit card information including my 3 digit secret code (I have no idea what Security they employ) before I could make the appointment. I'm sad at this turn of events. But, I cannot tolerate there work ethics or policies. read more

Just wanted to take the time and thank the incredible staff at the dog pawlour! A few months ago, our groomer closed and I booked with them. Something went wrong and my initial appointment got canceled, but the staff worked with me and fit me in the very next day before they even opened. My rescue dog was used as bait in dog fights, heavily abused and is now a senior. He has sensitive spots that can cause him to snap. The first appointment they were not able to calm him down to finish (he still looked fabulous afterwards) and recommended booking with a master stylist. He is a chow/border collie mix so he is very fluffy and has a thick coat and sheds a ton. Jessica did such a fantastic job for our second appointment and said his only issue was with the dryer which is common for many dogs! A big thank you to the entire staff for their patience and compassion with my dog. If you are looking for a new groomer in Fort Collins that are experienced and knowledgeable with dogs who can be more difficult to groom look no further. Thank you guys again! read more

I loved this place until today!:( I got a email that said Chewy my dogs appt was 12:30 I connected that to my calenda!! so on my way there today I get a call from them asking where I was at 12:28 I was 1 min away!! She said Chewys appt was at 12 I explained time I was sent she said- "That has been happening " I go in wait 10 min - groomer comes out I explain what I want leave! come to pick him up charged a 10.00 late fee the groomer told her to charge me because she started at 12:40 after I explained the situation to her. It's not the money it's the principle! I have taken my dogs (three of them) there for 2 years and never late - not going back they were so rude!!!!! I had pictures to confirm what I was expecting my dog to look like. That is what I was told to do to make sure they would do what I wanted her to look like. I knew it couldn't be done exactly as the picture showed but I expected something close to it. Well, not the case. Even my husband can't believe how they butchered our gorgeous 16 month old female goldendoodle. The groomer said she had no choice because she was badly matted. That is just not the case at all. Only around the collar area was there some matting. Otherwise she was well brushed. One of her special beautiful features was her tail. Well it is going to take over a year for that to recover!! Jessica cut half of it off. it looks horrible. I made a point that her ears and tail were to be left long. Even her beautiful beard was destroyed. It could not have been worse. I think she only knew one way to groom a dog and that was that. I will never go back there!!!! Another thing I almost forgot to add. You don't even see your dog before you pay!! Big mistake. I was charged $140+ dollars for a horrible horrible job. Years ago I groomed Schnauzers so I know a little bit about dog hair manageability. There is no way my gorgeous dog should have looked the way she did! Very SAD!! read more

What a pleasant surprise!! After moving here from South Florida (where I bathed my dog outdoors), I tried a big box store groomer for Cooper. I wasn't at all happy, so asked my neighbors via Ridgewood Hills community Facebook page for recommendations. This place was recommended, and I then read all Yelp reviews. Just brought a very Happy Cooper home. I had told Kelsey I thought someone had abused him with water before we rescued him, so he may be shy with water. Cooper is an 80# Catahoula love pup. They asked if I wanted a bandana. I said no way he'd let them do that! Cooper came out with Kelsey happy, wagging his tail, AND in a cute bandana! He was so clearly treated well. He wasn't even trying to rush out the door! I loved this place so much I asked if they're hiring, as my daughter in law Amanda is job hunting and great with dogs! Wouldn't suggest it to her if I wasn't so totally impressed! I will definitely be a regular customer....rather Cooper will be! Thanks so so much for taking such excellent care of him! read more

I could not recommend this place enough. I used the little hoodie they provided to cover his ears and protect his face...I don't think he's ever been this calm during grooming before. I walked in without an appointment and had no wait, and a staff member named Claire showed me how everything worked and mixed up a custom shampoo and conditioner. They had 3 different brushes, aprons, 2 towels, a face cleanser, the hoodie, a SUPER powerful drier, and 5 doggie perfumes to pick from. I couldn't believe how fast the drier did my dog's double coat. The prices were a lot more reasonable than I thought they'd be, the self service is only $20 for unlimited time in a private grooming suite (every other self-groom I've been too had time limits). I also added a few treats for a reward after grooming and an extra $15 to have a professional trim his claws. Overall, this place is wonderful and I would recommend it to any dog owners. read more

The Dog Pawlour is a great place for me to wash my dog myself. They make it so convenient by having a clean, organized wash room with a tall metal tub and ramp for my dog to walk up. They provide a rubber apron for me and shampoo, brushes etc. The wash tub has a long hose and even a fur dryer hose with dog ear muffs so it's not too loud for him. Great service for low price! I had used them before and it worked out. Sam did a great job This time Sam said 2-3 hours. I showed up at 3 hours and the front person said she would go check She came back and said it would be another 45 minutes. That would make it Close to 4 hours Heres whats wrong- i live north of ft collins and NOBODY called me about the delay. The front desk person was rude and gave no explanation. When i finally picked up charlie she was shaved and it doesn't look like they cleaned her teeth. Sam, who usually brings her out, did not come out. I asked if i could talk to her and the front desk person said no I felt dismissed. I teach customer service and this was horrible. If something happened to cause the delay all they had to do was apologize, use a little empathy and tell me what happened. I will not go back there. read more

We brought our two dogs here to do the self dog wash. The first lady who helped me seemed like she did not want to be there and had no sense of urgency, which is fine but it took forever to even get our dogs in there and many people were waiting for a long time. The self serve dog wash was fine, it just seemed like the shampoo and conditioner were way too watered down to do much, and seemed like one way to cut costs. Haven't gotten any dogs groomed so I'm not sure how they are with grooming, but probably better places in town to get your dog washed yourself. read more

I have a pretty reactive red heeler. She HATES having her feet touched. Unfortunately, she still needs to get her nails trimmed from time to time. The dog pawlour has managed to do it twice, even when her vet couldn't. Prices are very affordable and the staff are always very friendly. I like their little shop too. They have a lot of fun products you usually wouldn't see anywhere else. This place will have my business for a long time for sure. read more

I really like how they have a gate at the front of their store. They were awesome with our nail tries even though one of my dogs is a pain to do! All of the associates that I talked with were very nice and helpful.
