We came to visit from Wednesday to Friday. It was medium crowded for most of the time - about 65% of the chairs in use. A good amount of activities for my 4 year old grand daughter who was just tall enough to go on the slides with inner tubes. Well maintained and lots of lifeguards - I give it 5 stars at least when it's not 100% filled. The hotel room isn't the fanciest I have stayed but the rooms are fairly large and well maintained. Plenty like towels and the housekeeping staff is very friendly. I have not been to any great wolf lodge before but was very impressed with the wolf theme that was carried out throughout the resort. There are a lot of activities included with your wrist band received as part of the room rate. All in all - a very good experience. read more

Been here 3 times already on various holiday weekends. Came here for Memorial Day weekend and it was probably our best experience so far. I came with my parents and 2 kiddos (5 yo and 1 yo). The breakfast buffet has gotten better and the customer service is noticeably better than we had experienced in the past. The ready to order eggs and omelette are yum. Something for everyone. My baby loves the fruits. Overall resort is clean and feels relatively safe. It's not unusual to see kids wandering around alone and lots of parents around keep watchful eyes out. It's definitely a resort more for the kids, so bring your inner child. The magiquest game is so cheesy, but my kiddo and husband enjoy it. Lots of kids play it, so you'll feel like you're missing out if you don't. We always end up doing more activities than we initially plan, so next time we'll probably look into trying one of the bundle discount passes. Personally my favorite part is that the water park is indoors. You don't have to cross your fingers for good weather and you don't have to wear sunscreen. I mobile order the lunch and eat inside the water park so my kid can stay in her suit swim still soaking wet. read more

The cleaning ladies are super nice and deserve a raise. If you are an adult and plan on having a couple drinks. DO NOT BUY FROM THE WATER PARK BAR. I bought 1 drink. I asked for a Pina Colada. She brought back an island colada. Made with mango. I said that's not a Pina colada. She said its an island colada, that's what everyone gets. I said what if I was allergic to mango. She said, if you are don't drink it. I said I'm not, but what if I was. I told her I would accept the drink since it was already made. I let it go and took a couple of sips and set it down between 2 lawn chairs and went on a slide with the kids. When I came back it was tipped over. I paid almost $30 for this drink. You could see the line on the cup that I had not drank much of it before it spilled. So I went back to tell them that someone spilt it. It was not long after I purchased it. She said unless one of the employees saw what happened, then there was nothing they could do about it. Then I asked for her supervisor. When she came she said they could give me a discount. I asked how much would it cost. I ordered a dbl Pina colada. Then I saw the girl who made the drink tell her she didn't make it a double. She said the discounted price was $35 big ones. That's more than I paid for the first one. I'm not paying $65 for a drink. The wolf lodge makes plenty of money. I wasn't the one who spilled the drink. 8 hope the lifeguards are paying attention to the kids not the drink. I believe the supervisor was named Dez and the bartender was Alexis. If you are going there to stay overnight. ADULTS BRING YOUR PWN BOOZE. DO NOT GO TO THAT WASTE OF $ CANTINA. The cleaning ladies deserve a raise. My kids had the best time! I have two boys (11 and 7), and we went for my 7-year-old's birthday. I always said I'd never take them to Great Wolf Lodge, but my April baby always wants a "pool" party--and it's usually cold or rainy--so I gave in. Prices were actually reasonable, so we booked Sunday-Tuesday. Check-in lines were long, but the self-serve kiosk was quick and easy. We got wristbands for the room and water park and headed straight to the pool. It was packed Sunday around 5 p.m., which was expected, so we stayed a couple hours and went back to the room. Food inside the hotel was either closed or overpriced, but the location is great--about 0.5 miles from Panda Express, Chili's, Costco, La Estrella (amazing Mexican food), and more. We ate at Chili's. Parking is $20/day. You can use the water park from check-in day through checkout, which is awesome. My 11-year-old loved the Howlers Peak Ropes Course. My 7-year-old and I tried it, but he got scared at the top--staff helped him down right away. I don't blame him, it's high! I only did the first level, but my 11-year-old did the second level three times. My 7-year-old also loved the arcade. Most attractions cost extra, but there are decent deals. The only ones I wouldn't do again are mini golf and bowling--they're very small and just okay. We had the unlimited family pass, so we used them anyway. Best part: the slides! I'm 32 and my husband is 34, and we had just as much fun as the kids. Big or small, all the slides were a blast. Honestly, one of our favorite family vacations. The room (Grizzly Suite) was clean and spacious for 3 adults and 2 kids. Beds weren't super comfortable, but that's typical. Cleanliness mattered most. Checkout was easy via text, but double-check your bill--they tried to charge us $60 for "missing" towels we returned. A quick call got it refunded, but I can see how others might miss that. Our first time here with the family was such a fun experience! The overall atmosphere is incredibly family-friendly. I took my girls to the children's events hosted in the lobby, and I honestly found myself enjoying my own inner child right alongside them. We absolutely loved the arts and crafts and the storytelling time. The room layout is also wonderful for families. Our room had a separate section for the kids featuring a bunk bed and a twin bed, which was beautifully split from the main bedroom area. It added such a nice, warm, and kid-friendly touch to our stay. The indoor water park itself is fantastic, though it did feel a bit musty and humid inside the pool area. Improved ventilation would definitely elevate the comfort level. During our visit, one of the toddler swimming areas (restricted to children under 40-45 inches) was closed. Unfortunately, my three-year-old was in that height range, so she missed out on the full experience there, though there were luckily other areas available for her to enjoy. The wave pool was great! I really appreciated that it wasn't too deep, which made it much easier and safer for someone of my height (4'11") to swim and wade around with my three-year-old daughter. Right next to the water park, the rest of the building has so much more to offer! They have amazing shops, fun obstacle courses, an awesome arcade, and great food options all conveniently located inside. It really keeps the kids entertained even when you're out of the water. The staff members were consistently friendly and attentive. On our way out in the morning, the housekeeping staff at every door warmly said good morning to us, which was such a sweet touch. I didn't carry my phone with me during our water park session to take photos, but the memories were worth it. I LOVE the concept of a hotel, arcade, ice cream parlor, restaurants,, rope course, mini golf, indoor waterpark and attractions all in one building. The hotel is big! So many rooms here. I booked the 6 person room which has 2 queen beds and a pullout sofa bed. pretty good size. This place is meant for young children, I would say 3-12 years old. Many MANY families. parking is an additional cost, even if you stay overnight at the hotel. wear the wristband on your left wrist so it's easier to reach the machine when entering/exiting. we sure used the in/out privilege to go out for dinner outside of GWL. Better food and prices outside. Expect higher costs inside the park for very basic food (burger, ice cream, fries, continental breakfast). Waterpark- -grab a chair EARLY in the morning. It's soo hard to find an open seat to even put your stuff. many chairs are regular low chairs (does not lean back), super crowded and close together with strangers. -It's super packed in the waterpark! Wave pool and lazy river have just too many people bumping into each other. Spent only minimal time in there and had to get out. not enjoyable. -Slides are fun! Some build up speed and go pretty fast! -locker room has shower, toilets, and dry changing booths. was clean. -outdoor waterpark only open for summer. went in winter and imagined it would have been so nice to have the extra lounge chairs that were outdoors. sure needed it. read more

My family & I just came back to this location & it was a much better experience. We stayed on a Tuesday night & it was way less crowded. We booked a double room kids cabin with bunks & 2 adjoining rooms. Upon check-in I made sure to kindly ask that we were not placed in the same rooms as our last visit (we got terrible sleep due to employee noise outside our windows last time) the team member at check in told me that they in fact did have us booked to stay in the same rooms we didn't want, but she was able to change our rooms in the system which was appreciated. Our rooms faced the North side of the resort facing Daniels Street & they were nice & quite to sleep in (but quite a ways from the elevators.) The 2 days we spent in the park (Tuesday & Wednesday) were awesome. The only slides that had any wait times were the big family 5 seater slides & we never waited more than 5 minutes (last trip in summer they were a 45 minute wait ) All the other slides had absolutely no wait & we could ride 10x in a row with no wait. The parking lot was only about 25% full so there was parking everywhere. Our kids had such a fun trip this time & we'll definitely be back. Our kids loved the gold panning experience right by the water park entrance, we bought 2 of the family size bags of pay dirt like $35 each & our kids found tons of cool gemstones, rocks, fossils, & shark teeth. The only downside to our trip was like the last 2 hours we were there there was a code brown (a kid pooped in the water) so the lazy river & the connected slides were shutdown for a while. This is a great place for the kids! I have a 4 and 7 year old and both had a lot of fun. They really enjoyed the water park and MagiQuest interactive adventure game. My 7 year old couldn't get enough of the MagiQuest game. We upgraded the magic wand which she really loved. Although it's an extra cost she enjoyed it. Highly recommended. Also the water park was fun. We enjoyed some drinks, food, and lazy river. I would recommend going early for good seating because it can get crowded around the good spots. Also it's worth going early the day of your arrival since them can give you your passes early. The basic rooms were ok. Next time we will try the themed rooms. The check in process wasn't as bad as mentioned in other reviews. Maybe they changed the process. Overall it's a great place for kids but it can he overwhelming if you're not ready for a bunch of kids running around. read more

We booked the deluxe cabin suite, which was perfect for a birthday sleepover -- bunk beds everywhere, tons of space, and the kids immediately felt like they were on a mini adventure. Having her two best friends stay the night made it extra special, and the layout worked really well for both kids and adults to have their own space without feeling crowded. The water park itself was a huge hit. There's enough variety that everyone found something they loved, from the bigger slides to the wave pool and all the smaller play areas. The kids basically ran nonstop the entire time, which is exactly what you want as a parent. One of the BEST decisions we made was renting a cabana. Total game changer. Having a dedicated space to regroup, stash belongings, relax for a few minutes, and not fight for chairs made the whole day so much more enjoyable. If you're going for a full day, I highly recommend it. We also had dinner at the restaurant onsite and were pleasantly surprised -- the half chicken was actually really good and a great option after a long day in the water park when nobody wants to leave the property. Service was friendly and patient with our very excited crew. And the nighttime dance party? Absolute chaos in the best way. So fun, so high-energy, and honestly one of those core memory moments watching the kids completely in their element. By the end of the day I had completely lost my voice from laughing, cheering, and trying to keep up with the excitement... which probably tells you everything you need to know about how much fun we had. My bestie raved about this Great Wolf Lodge and her past visits with her family. We planned this trip on our kid's second week of Spring break and was hoping it would be quieter since we planned on going during the week. Easter weekend coming earlier this year I'm sure didn't help. We made the most of it. We booked a standard family suite for 3 nights. We added their breakfast club buffet for our time here and an unlimited eat and play package. The indoor Waterpark is included with your stay here. Our beds were comfortable, but the restrooms could use a vent and a deep clean about the shower itself. (See picture). I was emailed an offer to extend, bummed that when we tried calling the front desk. No one picked up and then we waited over 20 minutes to have an older lady working front desk that there was nothing left, so she's not sure why I got an email to extend. Room rates are cheaper when you book in advance or plan for longer stays, but overall we still spent a lot here. We should have just gone to Disneyland this time around. I like that it's convenient and they offer dining and booze on property, but like anywhere there's convenience; you pay the cost for that. We did everything we could possibly do with our kids here and they still spent most of their time at the arcade. The prizes and the ability to win more tickets were amazing. We were bummed our son wasn't more excited for the MagiQuest and the other activities offered on property. It was crowded everywhere we went here no matter what time of day it was. I recommend downloading their app to reserve tables, preorder food and drinks. We dined at their buffet for our breakfast club deal and they offered a little more than a continental breakfast with their omlet station. I made it a point to load up on protein and fiber. There weren't any employees that stuck out to me besides the gift shop ladies. They were actually friendly besides the guy that ran the buffet in the morning. Thank you. We had a great stay, however I do have one complaint regarding the Hungry Wolf restaurant. When ordering a salad, I ran into false advertising. The description of the Caesar salad priced at $10.99 reads 'your choice of grilled or crispy chicken breast, fresh romaine hearts, parmesan, garlic croutons, lemon and Caesar dressing.' I discovered upon ordering that chicken is not included in the salad at the $10.99 price as stated, but is an additional $6 for the littlest bit of chicken. We stayed one night at Great Wolf Lodge and overall had a decent experience, but there are definitely some concerns. The room itself was perfectly fine. clean, comfortable, and we had no complaints there. I actually loved that the room keys are on wristbands, which made things super convenient, especially with kids. Also, the sofa pulling out into an extra bed was a nice surprise. it basically gave us three beds in a two-bed room, which worked out great for our family. The dance party is such a great idea before kids hit the hay I do want to do that at home now thank you! That said, the biggest issue for me was the cleanliness of the water park areas. The floors throughout the park felt really dirty and could seriously use a deep clean or power wash. The bathrooms were also not well maintained.. when I went in, there was poop all over the toilet and floors in multiple stalls, and it stayed that way for a while. Even the stairs leading up to the slides and play structures were noticeably dirty. It honestly made me uncomfortable walking around barefoot, especially knowing people are walking in and out with shoes or water shoes that have been everywhere, including the bathrooms, and then tracking that back into the pool areas. I do want to give credit to the staff though watching them and they're clearly working hard and dealing with a lot on a daily basis, and I can imagine it's not easy to keep up with the volume of guests. However, the cleanliness factor is a big deal for me. Unfortunately, my daughter ended up getting sick the first day, and I can only assume it may have been from accidentally ingesting pool water. After reading other recent reviews mentioning similar experiences, it does raise concerns. As much as the kids loved it, I'm not sure we would return. The fun isn't worth the risk of getting sick. I read a lot of the reviews in the past ten days have been with kids being hospitalized or seriously ill. Pls pls pls make sure you bathe the kids and yourself asap. read more

This is a good place for small & young children who enjoy the water. Teens may enjoy the water slides but it does get crowded and there are not a lot of slides. Their lazy river is small, crowded, and not enough room for everyone to get an inflatable tube. Pros: Plenty of staff around pools and I always see them training and doing scenarios. Regardless, parents are ultimately responsible for those in their care but you always see some pretty young kids with little supervision. Since the majority of this is indoors, regardless of weather, you can still plan a visit. They have an outdoor area as well but it is not very large. I have only come during cooler months as I don't like the heat. Bowling alley, arcade, and adventure area but this is a double edged sword as it is costly and it adds up for a family. They have activities on site- keychain making, decorations with pipe cleaners and bells, PJ dance party (if you and your family are into that) Cons: Usually crowded on weekends and that means lines (for slides, food, and towels), lack of chairs for all. We arrived on Fri and Sat was way more crowded. I saw latecomers arrive only to find that all chairs were taken. Food is meh and okay at best. I decided to try the Pretzel & Hot Dog on a Stick restaurant on Saturday and they only had 2 employees working at 1pm and they were obviously overwhelmed and unable to keep up with the requests. My sandwich was messed up (requested no cheese and it still had cheese) and when I mentioned this, the employee stated she would have the one person cooking remake it and after about 10 minutes, I gave up. I asked for mini dogs as a substitution. The mini dogs were very bland and dough was underdone. Yuck. No thanks. Buckets had a longer line and wait time for food was even longer. Rooms are average and at least come with a sleeper sofa for larger parties. However, rooms should be furnished with a larger table to accommodate larger groups. It's only good for 2 (small table with 2 chairs). Staff were fine and parking lot was pretty full. For the price of a day pass, you are better off spending the night. Chlorine/chemical smell is very overwhelming as this is an enclosed space read more

First time at this location and our stay here was pleasant, rooms very clean, all staff were very friendly and helpful. One thing I do want to complain about but this has nothing to do with Great wolf themselves but there is a dunkin donuts with their facility that was total crap, first hearing from others complain that day of over charging and not getting complete orders then it happened to me. I ordered 2 ice coffees from an young asian guy that looked like he didnt want to be there, I didnt get a recipe nor ask for my name and I didnt think of it at first but then asked myself how do they know who to call on when my order is done. We'll 15 minutes pass nothing, so I asked the person making the drinks if my order was ready she said we dont have your order if you do not have a number or a name and told me to rebuy it. I was no im not going to buy another one when I just bought two 15 minutes ago and couldn't argue because in a way it was somewhat my fault for not asking for a recipe or if they had my name but take my mistake as a lesson mabe it'll help out someone else. I went about my day and loss some money but whatever I was tired and did not pay attention but to that young asian guy that took my order do better. read more

I have been to two other GWL from out of state when the kiddos were little decades ago; so I was excited to jump on the opportunity to stay at this newer location through a timeshare during Halloween, just over an hour drive without the 580 E traffic. Parking is $19 a day. The lobby was very nicely decorated, there was a dance activity for the kids which was loud. Check in was seamless, staff was very helpful. We even got complimentary "wolf ears" to wear. Aside from the waterpark which is open from 10am-8pm, there is a rope obstacle course (with harness) a small bowling alley and an arcade. There a places to eat inside which is very convenient, you can link a credit card to you electronic wrist band (which is also your door key, parking in and out swipe, and water park admission) to pay for any purchases within GWL. Even after checking out of the room, we could stay and enjoy the water park until it closes at 8pm (which we took advantage of). They do have an outside pool which appears to be closed for the season. The only thing I found frustrating was the low signal for mobile data plan, which seems to be an issue even outside of the park. They do have free internet to connect to, however will not work with my secure work laptop. Overall, great indoor waterpark, definitely a cool place for family with teens, tweens, kids, and for the young at heart folks. :) read more

The water park was fun I like how they offered us to go into the park early before check in. The other activities we didn't try because it was a one night stay for us. We did find a cockroach which is understandable but it was just out along with a second one in the bathroom (may have been the same one), which scared my autistic son into not wanting to shower. I'm not a stranger to bugs but I honestly did fear bringing one home and I refused to bring any bags inside. Clothes went straight in the washer. The bug won't keep me from staying again because I didn't see them anywhere else but I will not spend $700+ a night knowing. read more

First time at any Great Wolf Lodge and it was a good first experience. We were able to check into our suite early and Stacy and Lori at the front desk were gracious to extend our checkout time to accommodate a member of our party who needed more time to get down the hall to our room and back. The waterpark is great and the kids really enjoyed the slides and the lazy river and wave pool. They are sticklers about the towel return count so be careful not to lose them! Only downside which resulted in one star down is the water pressure in the walk in shower of our suite was really low so showering took a lot longer. The shower curtains are also too long so water splashes on the floor. The shower with a tub in the suite had much better water pressure so I'd recommend showering kids in there for ease. read more

This review is for our visit December 2025. Snow Land theme. Have you been to the Great Wolf Lodge recently? You need to go. It has new and improved things to offer you on every level. The rooms are still really fresh and clean. Housekeeping does an excellent job. Check in is still quick and easy and then again it depends upon the time of day and whether you're checking in close to a holiday or not so be prepared. But we get there by 10 AM so we can check in and we've also reserved a cabana so we just go to the cabana and wait for our room to be ready! We have our lunch and drinks delivered to our cabana while we go play in the water. It's the best way to start your Great Wolf Lodge vacation. I honestly think Dunkin' Donuts has gotten better. The donuts taste fresh and we even had a couple leftover and they were still really good the next day! Whatever it is, they're doing a great job. Our donuts were a gift from a pack member for my birthday! Feel the love We got lunch from Buckets and requested that our hamburger buns be toasted which made a huge difference in our sandwiches. They were actually better. Hungry as a wolf still delivers the best pizzas anywhere around. We wait all year to have our pizza from there because nobody can compare. Campfire kitchen has a new omelette station. Fried eggs, omelettes that are pre-listed or create your own. The chef will do you right! The carving station inside at the buffet will have carved meats for you now. The pastries have been upgraded. They're a-lot Better. Adventure Pand is still the same with all the great games to keep everybody busy. At check-in, we were gifted white wristbands, which allowed us to take advantage of everything that Adventure Park has to offer. So we bowled and we golfed and did the ropes. This was also a birthday gift from the lodge. And it's not like we hadn't experienced those activities in the past while visiting, it's just this time it was all that much more special. There are so many activities with really cute crafts for the kids. We missed out on so many fun activities in the lodge because we were busy in the Waterpark and Adventure Park. So try to make your stay a couple of days so that you can take advantage of everything. They even make it snow in the lodge at the 9 o'clock dance party. This was too late for us. We couldn't see it in person but both nights that we were there it snowed! They don't have a snow globe like some lodges have out in the lobby for you to go into but the lodge is decorated so beautifully you won't be disappointed. The snow land theme is beautiful and immersive since you get to walk around in it. Everyone that works there is friendly, warm and inviting. From housekeeping to check in to pack members and the crew that keep the lodge sparkling clean. There's no need to go anywhere else for your vacation needs when we have the Great Wolf Lodge basically in our backyard. There are more eating options Being developed or recently opened outside of the lodge so if you want to go somewhere for something different you can. And remember, you can bring food into your room from an outside source, but not into the waterpark. And speaking of the waterpark, we enjoyed every one of their new seasonal drinks, like we do each season! Their mixologist know what they're doing and give you a really nice drink with just the right touch of alcohol for the adults and great flavors for the kids as well. If you're trying to make up your mind about whether or not to go to the Great Wolf Lodge in Manteca, California, don't hesitate. I truly believe you will have an excellent time with a lot of of water fun, dryland, fun, fun, food choices, and very comfortable, relaxing rooms to rest and recharge for your next day. If you have early risers, they encourage you to bring them out into the lodge. We do this at about 6:15 AM. We start walking from the lodge lobby all the way through adventure Park and just keep doing laps until Campfire. Kitchen opens for breakfast. It's a great way to burn off steam and keep noisy kids or people from disturbing the guests. Because hibernation hours are from 11 PM to 7 AM! Make your reservations in advance so that you can take advantage of any discounted room rates and I would highly recommend joining the Voyager club so that again you can take advantage of discounted room rates. My family and I stayed at Great Wolf Lodge recently, and the experience was honestly disappointing and concerning on multiple levels. First, when we woke up in the morning, we discovered blood in the bed. Not a small spot -- enough that it was obvious something had happened before we ever checked in. That alone made us question how thoroughly the rooms are being cleaned and inspected between guests. Then, while we were getting ready to leave, my son was accused of inappropriately touching another kid in the lazy river. An employee confronted him outside the building about the situation 2 hours later. I later spoke with the manager, who told me there was no evidence on the pool cameras (the ones used for drowning prevention), but that the other family could still file a police report if they wanted to. When bringing up that it feels that my son is being targeted due to his race and that I would like to see the video, I was told that I could not as there was nothing to see. What didn't sit right with me was the inconsistency. The manager claimed they "didn't question" my son, yet an employee had already pulled him aside outside the building to get his response. He's a minor, and that interaction happened without any parent present or notified. Between the unsanitary room, the way the situation with my son was handled, and the overall lack of clarity or accountability, this stay was not what we expected. This place is a buffet of fun activities for your kids enjoyment! We've been here thrice in 12 months because my then 8 and now 9-year old son loves the experience. *Activities* The waterpark is the main activity. The kids enjoy the wave pool, the river, the splash pads, and the slides. The chlorine can smell a bit strong because it's enclosed indoors. They have outdoor pool but it's closed when we went there. Other than the water park, they also have a bunch of activities. My son loves the magic quest experience. It kept him busy outside pool hours. Next he enjoyed the mining experience. It's a mini gold rush experience for the kids. They also have arcade, bowling, rope courses, and mini golf. The Wolf pass is a good deal if you are staying for at least 2 nights because you get to do all of the activities. They have different interactive shows on the lobby across the day specially during busy days. The activities seem enjoyable for kids under 8. *Food* The hotel has different food choices and the prices are decent. You have the option to get the buffet breakfast that includes a good variety of family breakfast staples. If you like coffee and light breakfast, they have Dunkin Donuts. For other meals, they have pizza and chicken burger place. They also have a better dining option, they have the Barnwood. But they need reservations to guarantee a spot. They don't accept walk ins in our past two visits. But the third visit, we were able to book two dinners there for healthier food options (fish and salads). They have pool bar for the parents and they offer a good variety of standard and fun cocktails and drinks. *Rooms* The rooms are standard size. Because the guests swim, the bathrooms tend to have chlorine and air dried musty smell. Other than that, the whole room is decent. Prices vary depending on the season. Summer and school breaks, they tend to be between 300-400. But I heard they have $200 deals on off-peak seasons and weekdays. Parking is a challenge if you arrive midday of Saturdays. Fridays are easier if you plan a weekend trip. Not sure if my som would request another visit soon. But so far we've been enjoying it. read more

I would return if I was with kids 5-10 years old. Pros: we had a lot of fun. There is tons of parking. The hotel appeared clean and well-kept. There were activities available for kids and families all day long. The hotel room (we had a suite) was spacious and the bunk beds for kids were cute. The rooms had really good sound proofing; there were kids running in the hallway allllll night and we hardly heard it. The overall decor is immersive and cute. Magic quest took us a long time to complete. Lots of luggage carts are available everywhere. Cons: the water park is HOT and humid. It's super loud in every part of the hotel. Almost everything there costs extra (other than a few of the free events that go on throughout the day); ropes course, mining, water park, magic quest (pay for a wand + pay to play). Had our first experience here. It absolutely surpassed my expectations. We stayed the night and was able to experience all of the attractions. They offer bowling, mini golf, rope obstacle course, arcade, dance party, yoga, story time, arts and crafts, yoga and the huge waterpark. They have build a bear on site and several stores for gifts, swimwear, candy, donuts, and ice cream. They have several food options. I preferred the breakfast buffet. After coming over half a dozen times, I'll still keep coming back. My last visit was over a year ago, and now I'm bringing 4 kids in tow. While I understand not everyone will have the same experience, it's unfortunate to see all the poor reviews. It is possible that I come purposefully during the slower days times and so the place is much tamer and overall better run. Yet, I'm here to vouch for all the wonderful improvements I saw this last week plus the ever so great things that keep my family going. All the lifeguards seemed vigilant during my time in the water park. I didn't meet anyone that wasn't friendly. On the contrary, many were quite kind and helpful when they saw me holding my baby. They kinda remind me of Chick Fil-A employees. In any case, I was standing off to the side and accidentally dropped some small crackers. As I was in the process of picking them up, an employee walked by and picked up a piece that had rolled to the main walkway and tossed it into the nearby trashcan. It reminded me of my times in Japan. For a family oriented place, it was clean! The food in the water park has also gotten better. There are also alternatives to the usual bulky life jackets (we still go for those). There are signs that mention quiet hours and the mandatory life jackets in the wave pool. Good move (prevents unnecessary protests). I liked the automated check in and the text letting me know when my room was ready (shortly after check in!). All in all, GWL shows that it listens to customers. I can see how they truly try their best to make families' times of fun as seamless as possible. I probably paid for more things during this trip (outside the room costs) compared to my other trips, but it was so worth it. My kids clearly had a blast, and that means my husband and I did too. This place is a lot of fun for the family and friends. The bowling was great, swimming was amazing (loved the tube-ride), the rope course was a bit redundant and your harness is hooked onto a big metal hook but I still only did a little of that since it was more the novelty or idea for me or getting over a fear of heights for some people. The assistants were helpful but they left a little too soon for my comfort level and I'd rather there be a net or something on the bottom just for the sake of mental calm in case the kids fall (would rather they not dangle by a hook though it's sturdy). The activities were great and we explored the whole place. I'd recommend going for a couple of days since you will be exhausted from having fun and may need to relax! Be sure to wear comfortable shoes you can walk around on that won't make your feet tired like amusement park level but bring extra socks in case you take them off and snack on ice cream midday while taking a break -- 'tis delish. Food prices are wayyyyyyy too expensive. The hotel packages are not financially friendly for families. Mixed information from employees in person and on the phone about what can and can't be brought into the water park. The magi quest stuff is kinda cheesy as in the kids get a $14.99 wand with a thing to go on the end if purchased as addition add on, used to go around and interact with certain musical and light up stations. Personally not worth the hype and kids just run around and don't stay to even see the entertainment. I think wolf lodge is not worth the price to stay. The Buffett was the star of the show at an additional 15.99 a person. Fresh fruit and lots of coffee and juice the turkey sauce was good. Bought a refillable lavender wolf cup and the soda tastes straight like chlorine. Paid 7.99 each to do a kinda entertaining kids golf set. Overall not impressed but came with a friend for her kids bday. The yoga for kids in morning was cool but I don't think I would ever come here on my own choosing. read more

So, my kids (4yo twins) love this place. But here's their gay dads' experience. The last time we were here, I was sitting waiting for our food when a staff member came up to me and asked if I'd lost a vape pen. At my bewildered reaction, I was told that the folks who came in to the restroom after us said there was smoke in the air (?!) and it smelled of weed. All of this conversation happened in front of my toddlers. I let that go. Today, as my twins and I were leaving a (different) family bathroom, I was approached by another staff member who asked for my info because a profanity allegation was made against me. I had no idea what she was talking about. She would not provide any information about the encounter at issue, but told me I'd be offered some accommodation if review of the cc camera footage turned out in my favor. I walked off again bewildered, but it was bugging me. I finally realized what it might be. So my kids are little. There are literally 2 slides they can go on. And one of those was closed because, in the words of one employee, "we had too many call-ins today. There should be someone there by the afternoon. " I can't recall my exact words, but "are you [something] kidding me" would've been in character and completely devoid of malice for the messenger. But apparently enough that I needed to be approached in front of my kids later? Mind you, I've heard swear words repeatedly from other families here, f-bombs included. Did not notice any investigations launched against other families. I am quite capable of not cursing and do apologize to the young person I apparently traumatized. My frustration was not directed at them and they didn't deserve to hear it from me. It does bother me that I've never had occasion to be spoken to by staff at a hotel until twice in one year here. I mean, it's hard not to feel I'm the common denominator, and an opportunity for soul-searching is always a good idea. But I also wonder if my non-traditional appearance or family play a part? Edit: I received an email from GWL requesting I set up a time to speak with them. This was my response: While I do appreciate you reaching out, I'm not really inclined to spend more of my time and energy on this. For the amount of money we've spent at GWL - most recently nearly $1000 over the course of 30 hours - I think we can find better experiences and memories elsewhere. I don't think spending money entitles me to some special treatment, and I'm typically as nice as I know how to be to workers. I've spent significant portions of my life in the service industry, too. But although we interacted with several really nice and professional folks at your business, there were unfortunately a larger number of surly, eye-rolling, I'm-going-to-ignore-you-in-the-hopes-that-you'll-go-away-or-someone-else-will-help-you employees at your establishment.  And I simply cannot believe that one of your employees had the nerve to come up to me while I was trying to keep track of two 4-year-olds and make accusations about my conduct before anyone even bothered to look at your camera footage, which I was told was *going to* be done.  Also, in retrospect, it was infuriating that you had someone(s) available to track me down but not to operate the toddler slide so my daughter wouldn't be sad that the only slide she can do was closed.  I can't think of another trip that has upset me this much in my life. read more

I had won tickets for a two night stay. This was our first time coming. We came for my daughters late birthday. We had two extra wolf passes for the kiddos. Our stay went very smooth. We had an amazing stay at Great wolf lodge. It was our first time and we had a wonderful time. The moment we got it in the staff was friendly, the pizza was delicious. We stayed in the wolf den suite and my son absolutely loved it. I added the breakfast buffet and a wolf pass and it was worth every penny. My only suggestion is there needs to be more security. Other than that we had a great time and will be back again. Also, if you do decide to eat outside of the resort. Across the street is Costco and down the street there's a plaza where you can find everything to eat. We found this cute ramen spot next to a Jamba Juice and it was soo good. We planned a trip here when my daughter had a couple days off from school. Although no where as fancy as Hawaii, it was over $6k cheaper. Last time we took her to the big island, she really enjoyed the pool and waterslide at the resort. Great Wolf checked the boxes. Waterslide? Check. Hotel room? Check (small children really love hotel rooms for some reason). Kid friendly destination? Check. Minimum travel time? Hawaii is a 5hr flight not including the hassle of the airport and driving so Socal is over 6hrs in the car. Manteca is about a 90 min drive from the South Bay. Another thing is that my kids hate is sunscreen on their face and body so didn't have to deal with that. What a great concept to have a water park indoors where you don't have to deal with the sunburns, flies, and inclement weather so you can go even in the winter. My perception was that this place was going to be humid, warm, and stink of chlorine. Luckily the place is actually pretty clean. You will occasionally see wet spots in the elevator but looks like the staff works hard to be on the lookout for that. They have plenty of towels in the pool area so there is no need to grab towels from your room. All the in-house eateries obviously caters to kids so you aren't going to find fine dining options but at least the prices are pretty reasonable. A large pizza was only $24 (March 2025) and the pizza wasn't bad at all. We had Dunkin Donuts on one day but there are outside options like Starbucks about 3 mins away. Just keep in mind that this is still Manteca so choices are very limited. My small children really enjoyed the waterpark, the baby waterslide, and the lazy river. They are a bit too young for the bowling, miniature golf, and the rope course but glad they have other entertainment for kids of all ages. The rooms were just ok. The beds were comfy and there was sufficient amount of plugs. Showers are weak just like every single hotel in the US with the water conservation regulations. The sink is weirdly placed outside the bathroom and mounted way too high for a place that supposedly caters to children. We had to pull a chair up to the sink just so they can use it. The windows to the room were small, probably on purpose bc you're in Manteca and there's nothing to look at. Our room was pretty quiet and didn't really hear the others. Pro-tip: Wear your wristband on your left hand. This is used to open your room as well as activate the parking access bc it's much easier to reach with your left hand to the sensor than put the car in park and step out with your right hand. read more

I have 4 different charges on my credit card for a stay that should have only been 139 after the 50% off over 400 dollars in charges. I understand a deposit but these are final charges they did not come off of my account. I have a itemized receipt that says final cost are 171.41 after the parking fees and other fees. Also charged a tourism fee which we are residents of this county so why the tourism fees not once but twice on my invoice. Woke up at 4 am to my daughter crying about insect bites all over her body, turns out they are bed bug bites. We left instantly at that very moment. Kids liked it, let's get that out of the way first. This was probably our fourth visit. I have to say, their check in process had gotten better over time. But, they gave us the room number 25 min before 4PM, and the room wasn't cleaned yet. After being notified, they were able to get it ready a couple minutes past 4PM though, at least it looked clean. On checkout day, the cleaning crew knocked on our door shortly after 10AM but before 11AM checkout time. Maybe they were short staffed and wanted to get a head-start, hire a few more people perhaps? The Dunkin' inside didn't work with the Dunkin' app. That's annoying. We did like the pizza selling close to the rope course. Finally, why did it smell like pee outside, even the lobby smell like it??? read more
