My kids had the best time! I have two boys (11 and 7), and we went for my 7-year-old's birthday. I always said I'd never take them to Great Wolf Lodge, but my April baby always wants a "pool" party--and it's usually cold or rainy--so I gave in. Prices were actually reasonable, so we booked Sunday-Tuesday. Check-in lines were long, but the self-serve kiosk was quick and easy. We got wristbands for the room and water park and headed straight to the pool. It was packed Sunday around 5 p.m., which was expected, so we stayed a couple hours and went back to the room. Food inside the hotel was either closed or overpriced, but the location is great--about 0.5 miles from Panda Express, Chili's, Costco, La Estrella (amazing Mexican food), and more. We ate at Chili's. Parking is $20/day. You can use the water park from check-in day through checkout, which is awesome. My 11-year-old loved the Howlers Peak Ropes Course. My 7-year-old and I tried it, but he got scared at the top--staff helped him down right away. I don't blame him, it's high! I only did the first level, but my 11-year-old did the second level three times. My 7-year-old also loved the arcade. Most attractions cost extra, but there are decent deals. The only ones I wouldn't do again are mini golf and bowling--they're very small and just okay. We had the unlimited family pass, so we used them anyway. Best part: the slides! I'm 32 and my husband is 34, and we had just as much fun as the kids. Big or small, all the slides were a blast. Honestly, one of our favorite family vacations. The room (Grizzly Suite) was clean and spacious for 3 adults and 2 kids. Beds weren't super comfortable, but that's typical. Cleanliness mattered most. Checkout was easy via text, but double-check your bill--they tried to charge us $60 for "missing" towels we returned. A quick call got it refunded, but I can see how others might miss that. Overall, we'll likely be back within the next year.

Our first time here with the family was such a fun experience! The overall atmosphere is incredibly family-friendly. I took my girls to the children's events hosted in the lobby, and I honestly found myself enjoying my own inner child right alongside them. We absolutely loved the arts and crafts and the storytelling time. The room layout is also wonderful for families. Our room had a separate section for the kids featuring a bunk bed and a twin bed, which was beautifully split from the main bedroom area. It added such a nice, warm, and kid-friendly touch to our stay. The indoor water park itself is fantastic, though it did feel a bit musty and humid inside the pool area. Improved ventilation would definitely elevate the comfort level. During our visit, one of the toddler swimming areas (restricted to children under 40-45 inches) was closed. Unfortunately, my three-year-old was in that height range, so she missed out on the full experience there, though there were luckily other areas available for her to enjoy. The wave pool was great! I really appreciated that it wasn't too deep, which made it much easier and safer for someone of my height (4'11") to swim and wade around with my three-year-old daughter. Right next to the water park, the rest of the building has so much more to offer! They have amazing shops, fun obstacle courses, an awesome arcade, and great food options all conveniently located inside. It really keeps the kids entertained even when you're out of the water. The staff members were consistently friendly and attentive. On our way out in the morning, the housekeeping staff at every door warmly said good morning to us, which was such a sweet touch. I didn't carry my phone with me during our water park session to take photos, but the memories were worth it. This is definitely a place we would love to return to and make a family tradition moving forward! Rate: 8/10

I LOVE the concept of a hotel, arcade, ice cream parlor, restaurants,, rope course, mini golf, indoor waterpark and attractions all in one building. The hotel is big! So many rooms here. I booked the 6 person room which has 2 queen beds and a pullout sofa bed. pretty good size. This place is meant for young children, I would say 3-12 years old. Many MANY families. parking is an additional cost, even if you stay overnight at the hotel. wear the wristband on your left wrist so it's easier to reach the machine when entering/exiting. we sure used the in/out privilege to go out for dinner outside of GWL. Better food and prices outside. Expect higher costs inside the park for very basic food (burger, ice cream, fries, continental breakfast). Waterpark- -grab a chair EARLY in the morning. It's soo hard to find an open seat to even put your stuff. many chairs are regular low chairs (does not lean back), super crowded and close together with strangers. -It's super packed in the waterpark! Wave pool and lazy river have just too many people bumping into each other. Spent only minimal time in there and had to get out. not enjoyable. -Slides are fun! Some build up speed and go pretty fast! -locker room has shower, toilets, and dry changing booths. was clean. -outdoor waterpark only open for summer. went in winter and imagined it would have been so nice to have the extra lounge chairs that were outdoors. sure needed it.

Below our windows employees slammed doors open all night to take trash out on loud carts. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, No Assistance

My family & I just came back to this location & it was a much better experience. We stayed on a Tuesday night & it was way less crowded. We booked a double room kids cabin with bunks & 2 adjoining rooms. Upon check-in I made sure to kindly ask that we were not placed in the same rooms as our last visit (we got terrible sleep due to employee noise outside our windows last time) the team member at check in told me that they in fact did have us booked to stay in the same rooms we didn't want, but she was able to change our rooms in the system which was appreciated. Our rooms faced the North side of the resort facing Daniels Street & they were nice & quite to sleep in (but quite a ways from the elevators.) The 2 days we spent in the park (Tuesday & Wednesday) were awesome. The only slides that had any wait times were the big family 5 seater slides & we never waited more than 5 minutes (last trip in summer they were a 45 minute wait ) All the other slides had absolutely no wait & we could ride 10x in a row with no wait. The parking lot was only about 25% full so there was parking everywhere. Our kids had such a fun trip this time & we'll definitely be back. Our kids loved the gold panning experience right by the water park entrance, we bought 2 of the family size bags of pay dirt like $35 each & our kids found tons of cool gemstones, rocks, fossils, & shark teeth. The only downside to our trip was like the last 2 hours we were there there was a code brown (a kid pooped in the water) so the lazy river & the connected slides were shutdown for a while. We will definitely be coming again but will make sure it's mid week, not in the summer or close to a holiday. Thanks for having us again GWL

This is a great place for the kids! I have a 4 and 7 year old and both had a lot of fun. They really enjoyed the water park and MagiQuest interactive adventure game. My 7 year old couldn't get enough of the MagiQuest game. We upgraded the magic wand which she really loved. Although it's an extra cost she enjoyed it. Highly recommended. Also the water park was fun. We enjoyed some drinks, food, and lazy river. I would recommend going early for good seating because it can get crowded around the good spots. Also it's worth going early the day of your arrival since them can give you your passes early. The basic rooms were ok. Next time we will try the themed rooms. The check in process wasn't as bad as mentioned in other reviews. Maybe they changed the process. Overall it's a great place for kids but it can he overwhelming if you're not ready for a bunch of kids running around.

We celebrated my daughter's birthday at Great Wolf Lodge and it turned out to be one of those experiences the kids will talk about for a long time. We booked the deluxe cabin suite, which was perfect for a birthday sleepover -- bunk beds everywhere, tons of space, and the kids immediately felt like they were on a mini adventure. Having her two best friends stay the night made it extra special, and the layout worked really well for both kids and adults to have their own space without feeling crowded. The water park itself was a huge hit. There's enough variety that everyone found something they loved, from the bigger slides to the wave pool and all the smaller play areas. The kids basically ran nonstop the entire time, which is exactly what you want as a parent. One of the BEST decisions we made was renting a cabana. Total game changer. Having a dedicated space to regroup, stash belongings, relax for a few minutes, and not fight for chairs made the whole day so much more enjoyable. If you're going for a full day, I highly recommend it. We also had dinner at the restaurant onsite and were pleasantly surprised -- the half chicken was actually really good and a great option after a long day in the water park when nobody wants to leave the property. Service was friendly and patient with our very excited crew. And the nighttime dance party? Absolute chaos in the best way. So fun, so high-energy, and honestly one of those core memory moments watching the kids completely in their element. By the end of the day I had completely lost my voice from laughing, cheering, and trying to keep up with the excitement... which probably tells you everything you need to know about how much fun we had. Is it a splurge? Yes. But for a birthday or special occasion where you want built-in entertainment and memories without having to plan a million separate things, it's absolutely worth it.

We stayed at Great Wolf Lodge in Manteca and overall the experience was mixed, but there were definitely some highlights. One thing we really loved is that the waterpark is indoors and heated, which makes it perfect no matter the weather. Being able to enjoy the pool without worrying about cold temperatures was a big plus, especially for kids. The biggest positive is that the kids had an amazing time. The waterpark is fun, exciting, and kept them entertained for hours with a great variety of slides, pools, and activities. There's always something going on, and from a child's perspective, it truly feels like a special and memorable getaway. However, there were some major downsides that took away from the overall experience. The bathrooms and locker room areas were disappointing -- they were often dirty, wet, and not well maintained, especially during busy times. For a place that revolves around water and hygiene, this was a big letdown. The food was another major issue. It is very overpriced for the quality and portions you receive. For families, the cost of meals and snacks adds up extremely fast, and there are limited affordable options on site. Long lines during peak hours only added to the frustration. The resort also gets very crowded, which is expected, but it makes cleanliness and food service problems more noticeable. While some staff members were friendly and helpful, it felt like the resort could use more employees to keep up with the volume of guests. Overall, Great Wolf Lodge is a fun place for kids, and they genuinely had a great time. We loved the indoor, heated waterpark, but the dirty bathrooms and overpriced food make it hard to fully justify the cost. With better cleanliness and more reasonable food pricing, this place could be much better.

My kids used part of their tickets to get me, "Wolfie".

My bestie raved about this Great Wolf Lodge and her past visits with her family. We planned this trip on our kid's second week of Spring break and was hoping it would be quieter since we planned on going during the week. Easter weekend coming earlier this year I'm sure didn't help. We made the most of it. We booked a standard family suite for 3 nights. We added their breakfast club buffet for our time here and an unlimited eat and play package. The indoor Waterpark is included with your stay here. Our beds were comfortable, but the restrooms could use a vent and a deep clean about the shower itself. (See picture). I was emailed an offer to extend, bummed that when we tried calling the front desk. No one picked up and then we waited over 20 minutes to have an older lady working front desk that there was nothing left, so she's not sure why I got an email to extend. Room rates are cheaper when you book in advance or plan for longer stays, but overall we still spent a lot here. We should have just gone to Disneyland this time around. I like that it's convenient and they offer dining and booze on property, but like anywhere there's convenience; you pay the cost for that. We did everything we could possibly do with our kids here and they still spent most of their time at the arcade. The prizes and the ability to win more tickets were amazing. We were bummed our son wasn't more excited for the MagiQuest and the other activities offered on property. It was crowded everywhere we went here no matter what time of day it was. I recommend downloading their app to reserve tables, preorder food and drinks. We dined at their buffet for our breakfast club deal and they offered a little more than a continental breakfast with their omlet station. I made it a point to load up on protein and fiber. There weren't any employees that stuck out to me besides the gift shop ladies. They were actually friendly besides the guy that ran the buffet in the morning. Thank you. We enjoyed our trip here besides the crazy crowds. Our next trip we'll plan for an off season.

This is a good place for small & young children who enjoy the water. Teens may enjoy the water slides but it does get crowded and there are not a lot of slides. Their lazy river is small, crowded, and not enough room for everyone to get an inflatable tube. Pros: Plenty of staff around pools and I always see them training and doing scenarios. Regardless, parents are ultimately responsible for those in their care but you always see some pretty young kids with little supervision. Since the majority of this is indoors, regardless of weather, you can still plan a visit. They have an outdoor area as well but it is not very large. I have only come during cooler months as I don't like the heat. Bowling alley, arcade, and adventure area but this is a double edged sword as it is costly and it adds up for a family. They have activities on site- keychain making, decorations with pipe cleaners and bells, PJ dance party (if you and your family are into that) Cons: Usually crowded on weekends and that means lines (for slides, food, and towels), lack of chairs for all. We arrived on Fri and Sat was way more crowded. I saw latecomers arrive only to find that all chairs were taken. Food is meh and okay at best. I decided to try the Pretzel & Hot Dog on a Stick restaurant on Saturday and they only had 2 employees working at 1pm and they were obviously overwhelmed and unable to keep up with the requests. My sandwich was messed up (requested no cheese and it still had cheese) and when I mentioned this, the employee stated she would have the one person cooking remake it and after about 10 minutes, I gave up. I asked for mini dogs as a substitution. The mini dogs were very bland and dough was underdone. Yuck. No thanks. Buckets had a longer line and wait time for food was even longer. Rooms are average and at least come with a sleeper sofa for larger parties. However, rooms should be furnished with a larger table to accommodate larger groups. It's only good for 2 (small table with 2 chairs). Staff were fine and parking lot was pretty full. For the price of a day pass, you are better off spending the night. Chlorine/chemical smell is very overwhelming as this is an enclosed space

Spending Halloween weekend at this popular waterpark!

I have been to two other GWL from out of state when the kiddos were little decades ago; so I was excited to jump on the opportunity to stay at this newer location through a timeshare during Halloween, just over an hour drive without the 580 E traffic. Parking is $19 a day. The lobby was very nicely decorated, there was a dance activity for the kids which was loud. Check in was seamless, staff was very helpful. We even got complimentary "wolf ears" to wear. Aside from the waterpark which is open from 10am-8pm, there is a rope obstacle course (with harness) a small bowling alley and an arcade. There a places to eat inside which is very convenient, you can link a credit card to you electronic wrist band (which is also your door key, parking in and out swipe, and water park admission) to pay for any purchases within GWL. Even after checking out of the room, we could stay and enjoy the water park until it closes at 8pm (which we took advantage of). They do have an outside pool which appears to be closed for the season. The only thing I found frustrating was the low signal for mobile data plan, which seems to be an issue even outside of the park. They do have free internet to connect to, however will not work with my secure work laptop. Overall, great indoor waterpark, definitely a cool place for family with teens, tweens, kids, and for the young at heart folks. :)

I love great wolf lodge. My family loves coming here. My children are 2, 3, 4, and 5 years old. They all enjoy it and there is so much for them to do. I honestly cannot wait to go back. Food is just okay. Stay away from the breakfast buffet. That food is gross. But lunch food is just okay.

This was our third time visiting Great Wolf Lodge, and our kids still never want to leave! This time, we tried the family climbing activity and bought the family climbing pass -- it worked out to be less than $10 per person for about 20 minutes of fun. It was a really great experience! The shops inside the hotel are reasonably priced, which was a nice surprise. The only downsides were that the water park felt a bit cramped and the check-in process took longer than expected. But overall, we were very happy with everything and had a great time!

Build a bear shop was fun

Had a great time. Check in was perfect and simple. You get wrist bands that works for everything including rooms and parking. The water park was fun I like how they offered us to go into the park early before check in. The other activities we didn't try because it was a one night stay for us. We did find a cockroach which is understandable but it was just out along with a second one in the bathroom (may have been the same one), which scared my autistic son into not wanting to shower. I'm not a stranger to bugs but I honestly did fear bringing one home and I refused to bring any bags inside. Clothes went straight in the washer. The bug won't keep me from staying again because I didn't see them anywhere else but I will not spend $700+ a night knowing.

Ask the Community - Great Wolf Lodge - Manteca

What is the temperature of water? And what is the temperature of the Waterpark indoor space? Is it comfortable in winter for average person?

According to its website, it says 84degF indoor, and water is around 82degF. It's really warm inside, oftentimes it feels a bit stuffy. So for average person, it is… Read more

Outside food allowed in water park? Is there places to eat in the area besides Costco?

Only outside food allowed in your hotel room, not into the Water Park. We went to Chik-fil-A and Chevy's, both are fairly nearby. If you do a google search you'll see all the abvailable options.

What time does check in starts?

    I believe 3:00 pm

How much is a day pass?

The water park was included in the room stay

Can I get more than one bag of coffee for the room? Or should I bring my own?

I'd contact the lodge but they may charge you for it.

Is there a door between the 2 rooms in the Deluxe Room Suite?

    Yes

Is there EV charging for electric vehicles?

    No EV chargers

    Do rooms have microwave?

No but they have microwave in the ice room every floor. One on each side.

    What time is check out?

11am, but you can keep using the facilities (like the water park) for the rest of the day.

Can we bring our emotional support pet? It's a Mainecoon cat that is very calm and relaxed, and would only stay in the room.

I would call them. I know service animals are allowed throughout the lodge, but I am not sure if they will allow an animal to stay in the room.

    Is parking free or paid?

Both. U can pay for VIP parking or just park in regular spots

    Is there clean vehicle parking?

    Yes

How much do the lockers cost and are they per day or per use?

    $15 per day

Is there a separate charge for towels? And should we bring goggles?

Hi Suzanne. Towels are provided as a courtesy, but they will track the towel usage with your wristband. I would also suggest bringing goggles and swim shoes. We paid about $30 for the youth swim shoes, but luckily we brought our own goggles. Enjoy… Read more

What is the process and cost for late check out? Should I try to call now or just try when we are there? Only staying for one night a few weeks from now

I would recommend downloading the GWL app it gives you information about your reservation allows you to check in before you get there and will tell you the amount for late check out! I believe it's around $89 which I don't recommend you can pack… Read more

Can you bring your own water bottles and fill up?

In October of 2022, we were allowed to bring our own Water Bottles, and were guided to refill the water at the Soda Dispensers where the food area is, inside the Water Park. Did not have to leave.

Can we bring our own folding chairs?

You wouldn't really need it. There are a ton of chairs available in the indoor swim area.

Are pets allowed at the lodge?

Technically, the hotel states they only allow service animals. I overheard an employee telling a guest they need to know what service the animal provides. However, I don't think legally (ADA regulations) they are allowed to ask. I'm pretty sure they… Read more

Would this be a good place to go for teens? I see a lot of family reviews but I'm not sure if our teenagers would enjoy this?

I don't think so, I think tops 12 year olds may still be entertained. My grandchildren loved it at 3&8

Came here for the first time with Jenbert Jr 1 (5.5y) and Jenbert Jr 2 (3y). I have nothing to say…read morethat hasn't been said before. Best for kids 18 months to 12 years because while the slides are fun, it's more family-friendly and less amusement-parkish than Hurricane Harbor in Concord or Calibunga/Raging Waters in San Jose. If you're ready to move your toddlers up from tot time at the San Ramon Aquatic Center, as I was, this is one step up from that. The staff member who was overseeing slides was really helpful when I told her that it was Jenbert Jr 1's first time going down a water slide ever. She told the others in line to wait for her while she gave JJ1 a little extra attention and how-to, which I appreciated. Pros: * Clean facilities * Free parking * Slide line wait times were less than 5 minutes when we went on Labor Day weekend around noon * Variety of activities from splash pad to slides to indoor or outdoor recreational swimming pool. We went to all three activities and enjoyed each. They didn't want to get out of the recreational pool when it was time to go, and it was less crowded. * More affordable than water amusement parks such as Calibunga and Hurricane Harbor, but to be fair, there isn't as much to do here. However, the focus at The Wave seems to be on quality, not quantity. Cons: * Pricing is for above and below 40". However, the slides have both a height (40") and weight (45 lb) requirement, and both must be met. Luckily, management will refund you if your child is over 40" but less than 45 lbs and cannot go on the slides. * Much like any other amusement park: cabanas/rented tables fill up quickly, can't bring in your own food.

It would be nice if they updated their website since we are in the digital age…read more They charge everyone the same price and if your kids are smaller than a certain height, it's maybe a few dollars off. The larger water slides were closed, which was the main reason we wanted to come here but didn't get to experience. Had they mentioned on their website that the slides were not available, we would have planned a different day or brought younger kids instead of the big kids. The cabanas were not held down by anything and it was a windy day, I almost got hit by the cabana flying. Maybe have them closed and when someone does purchase it is when you would open them up for the guest. I don't know if people really reserved any cabanas but a few were being used but closer to closing time so I don't think they really reserved them and people just sat there since it isn't getting checked in my opinion. I don't miss like that bathrooms are available in the front and back of the park. The front bathrooms in the check in area have lockers and showers. There is also a bathing suit spin dryer. It seems for the lockers that if you bring your own pad lock you can store your things if needed. It's great they allow you to bring in food but not in coolers but bagged food take out is ok. There is also food available for purchase in the back. Treats and desserts in the front middle of the water park. Parking is shared with the community building not close to the entrance. So for my disabled friends like me, we had to walk even from a disabled parking spot. The park does provide tables and chairs. The cement picnic tables in front are near the treats vendor store. I don't recall what type of tables are in the back near the food but there were more there and by the kid's splash pad area. I would like to return when the large slides are open but I call next year and find out till then.

I brought my…read moredaughter on their opening Day June 1st as they were celebrating its 70th Birthday and had a carnival, cake, face painting, magic show all included with admission which was thoughtful! If I remembered correctly admission is $6. Rides are $5 for 3 rides. (They only have 3 rides: boat ride, train ride, & carrousel) OR $9 for unlimited rides wristband. We ended up getting the wristband but it wasn't worth it, as the park was extremely packed and the lines for the rides were pretty lengthy, we only got on each ride once, but I'm sure on a regular day with no event happening, it's worth it to get the unlimited. Carrousel was so fun, goes pretty fast. Train ride was funny with all the things you pass and see along the ride, and the tunnel was the cutest, get ready to get your phone out and take a video. They even have a little water park so be sure to pack an extra pack of clothes for the kiddos unless you don't mind them getting soaked and getting back in your car. They have a food stand with foods like hot dogs, pretzels, nachos, chili, chips, shaved ice, fountain drinks, etc. We didn't purchase food here but prices ranged from $4-$8 I believe. This was a great way to spend a few hours and let your kids run around, play and tire them out. I'd definitely bring my daughter back. I am pretty bummed, there opening day my daughter & I stood in line for face painting for 1h & 35m literally and it was during the time that they passed out the raffle it was 70 $70 gift cards and apparently my number got called while in line & I didn't hear it and it's not like I had anyone to go get my prize for me. So by the time my daughter got her face painted and we went to give them our #. They said they called it out already and literally handed out the last gift card to someone. So that was pretty sucky. It's okay though. We had a great time and it was a great event. Their hours of Operation are: June - July 2024 Thursday - Sunday 10am - 4pm August - October 2024 Saturday & Sunday Only 10am - 4pm
