This place is absolutely horrible and disgusting. We checked in and were immediately "greeted " by this live cockroach right in the middle of the room. I didn't feel like staying there but we moved rooms and stayed. Our stay was for 3 days. They only clean the room every other day but we asked for towels and trash pickup the 1st night and they said yes but never did it. There was 6 people in the room (me, my husband and my 4 small children). The trash piled on quick. They picked it up the 2nd night. We checked out and in was grabbing some coffee from the lobby when one of the cleaning ladies walked up to the desk lady and started complaining about cleaning a room (almost like it's her job or something!) she proceeded to mention room 211 in Spanish and how disgusting it was and how they had to pick up the towels. My family was room 211 and I speak Spanish. I told the receptionist in Spanish that they should really be careful who they speak about because that is very unprofessional. The receptionist aggressively "defended" herself and instead of being apologetic for making a mistake , she kept telling me that "she didn't say anything" I told her she went along instead of putting a stop to it and that they should spend more time cleaning the rooms instead of trash talking about guests and perhaps the hotel wouldn't have live cockroaches hanging around. The lady proceeded to get loud with me and argue and telling me I should leave , as if I made a mistake. I took her picture because she refused to give me her name and she kept telling me " I just work here, what do you want me to do" This place should be embarrassed by the dirty rooms and poor customer service given by the employees. It was ridiculous that they would behave that way and I can only imagine what else they say about guests. Save yourself the disgust and pay a little more to avoid this place. I hope the owners see this review and I will also be contacting corporate and hope they look at the cameras and see the poor way the employees treat guests. This lady should work in a basement where she has no contact with anyone else . It is obvious she hates her job and doesn't care whether guests are happy or not. She is costing the owners money and is causing them to lose business. read more

Overall, I wasn't impressed with this hotel. On my first night, I went into my room and immediately had to ask to be moved. The first room had a really strange smell, almost like a doctor's office, and when I went into the bathroom, there was hair left in the tub, so it clearly had not been cleaned thoroughly. The staff was helpful and moved me to another room, which was much cleaner, but you can definitely tell the hotel needs more attention and upkeep. Several of my coworkers are staying here as well, and we all noticed that the rooms have a bit of a strange smell. There were also several smaller cleanliness and maintenance issues in my second room. The shampoo dispenser in the shower was completely empty, the bathroom mirror looked like it had been wiped down in a hurry and was still dirty, and the showerhead was old and dirty enough that the water sprayed unevenly. Water also leaks out of the bathtub when the bathroom door is cracked open. Based on the missing grout and visible signs of water repeatedly flowing through that area, it looks like this has been happening for a while. The Wi-Fi was another major disappointment. I'm here for work, and I could not get my MacBook connected to the Wi-Fi once during my stay. Reliable internet is pretty important for a hotel, especially for business travelers. On the positive side, the lobby is really cool and has a great atmosphere, and the staff has been very friendly. Unfortunately, the overall cleanliness, maintenance, and Wi-Fi issues are enough that I would not stay here again. I hate leaving negative reviews, especially because I work in marketing and understand how much reviews can impact a business. At the same time, I think it's important to be transparent about the experience, particularly when it comes to hotel cleanliness. read more

Clean rooms, not worn out, apparently new or newly refurbished, good included breakfast, friendly service. A nice surprise given so-so ratings here and not in a major city. The local we were visiting said this isn't the best part of town but it didn't seem run down or dangerous, lots of apartment buildings. In summary, not fancy but clean, quiet, new. read more

I recently stayed at Tru by Hilton in Manteca on a Friday night right after Christmas. And experienced a very stressful billing issue. I paid my room in full in advance and also provided a $25 incidental deposit at check-in, which I was told would be credited back at checkout. A few hours after leaving, I saw $260 in unexplained pending charges on my debit card, far more than my room cost or deposit. This temporarily drained my account, leaving me without funds while I was traveling. I contacted the front desk immediately, and while the charges were eventually credited, I never received a callback from management explaining what happened on Monday. It was inconvenient, stressful, and frankly unacceptable. While the charges were corrected, the experience has left me wary of staying here again. read more

Appears to be a new build in the area. Restaurants walking distance close by. It's a Cute Hilton hotel with a dorm like feel. Focusing on the Tech employees, college students or everyone these days with numerous electronic gear. Large Lounge area, couches, swinging egg chairs, numerous outlets scattered around. Located in a seems like a sketchy part of town but all was safe. Car was fine. No issues. Stayed only for one night. Bed was comfy. Large screen tv. Breakfast was good with many choices. Gym was perfect for quick workout. Not great Views but again it's Manteca not the beach. About 10 minutes away from Great wolf lodge. read more

I wrote them direct with some issues from my stay. They offered to refund 50% of my stay. That was very nice. I didn't ask for it and they offered. Except they didn't do it and now I've been chasing and chasing and chasing them and they won't return my messages. Don't offer one thing then just decide you're not going to do it. I stayed at Tru by Hilton Manteca with my 10-month-old son for 2 weeks while he was getting treatments nearby. The staff and hotel are very nice and affordable, with multiple stores and food places nearby. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. The only thing I can say nice about the hotel is it was clean.. The service was terrible when trying to check into our room, Nobody at the front desk we were had to wait 10 minutes to get service. We went down and asked asked Olivia at the front desk for towels. Gave her a tip. Come back to our room, no towels. The room was small. The bathroom was large, which was nice, but Service was horrible. That night when we got back to our room the guy at the front desk got us towels. He was very accommodating. would not recommend this hotel to anybody read more

This hotel is a serious joke. There is not even enough room to turn around in here. Literally no microwave in the room. But still costs the same amount as upscale hotel. I am looking g down at the motel 6. I know for a fact having stayed there many many times it is a far bigger and better room. The only thing they don't offer breakfast. Save your money or definitely veiw room before you pay. I can almost guarantee you will not find anything likable at this hotel. Hilton should be ashamed of themselves. read more

The staff member who helped us was very welcoming and friendly! The room was clean, the bathroom and the beds were very comfortable. Love how dark the room got when we closed the blinds and they do have a night light in the hallways close to the bathroom but you can't see it when your laying down (if it makes sense) it helped the kids at night and didn't bother us either. You can even connect your phone to the tv and watch Netflix etc or live tv. The room was on the smaller side but it was still nice. Can't say anything about the breakfast since we were there only one night and left after breakfast was done. read more

The hotel has a great concept. All about the family. Basic features, no nonsense. Small gym for cardio. However, they only service your room every other day, which is fine. But, I find it hard to believe that the floors have been "wet mopped" since they opened. Our room flooring was a dark wood material so it was hard to see if it was clean or not. The answer to that question is, the bottom of my feet were black. It was disgusting. Water was spilled on the floor and when I wiped it up the towel was so dirty, it was awful. I usually always wear flip flops in the room, but this time I forgot them at home. It was over 100 degrees outside so I didn't bring socks. The hotel is great, it really is, but if they are only going to have non carpet flooring, they are going to have to wet mop the floors whenever they clean the rooms so they're truly clean. That's my only complaint. read more

I called to book a room there and when we were about to finish the call before they charged my car, I asked what the age requirement were because I was traveling with my boyfriend and we are both 18-19 so I wanted to make sure and the lady asked me to hold on for one second and STILL CHARGED THE CARD, even though she went to ask about the age requirement before making sure knowing me and my bf were under 21, and when they transferred me I asked just to cancel, the lady on the phone before told me she didn't charge my card (she lied) so they told me I was getting a refund and it was gonna take 3-5 days and I told them that I needed the money for a new reservation they ignored me and just told me to have a good day and hung mid conversation. Everyone that worked there was kind and very professional throughout my weekend visit. Great location for food and shopping! Look at the Google map and you will see what is within walking distance! Don't be lazy, just walk, okay! This is a new hotel and new building, everything is clean and shined up. It has a very welcoming reception and large areas throughout to hang out with friends and family. They do have an outdoor area with comfortable couches and nice calm place to sit and relax with your pet or your family. I left at 4am and the front desk clerk was alert and attentive. Everyone that worked there smiled and made me feel welcome. That is what really makes the difference, is the level of service provided. The area around the hotel is definitely sporting that central valley vibe, so be aware of your surroundings if you go out walking at night because there are lot of street people wandering around near some of the shopping centers. It isn't extreme, but just be careful and use good judgement. PetSmart is nearby, and the hotel is pet friendly with a small corner in the back parking lot for Fido to do his business. Did I mention that every restaurant in the world is close by to this place? Canes, Habit, ChikFila, Wendys, In-Out, Pho, Chinese, Mexican, there is even a family that sells from a food cart just down the street in the evenings! This hotel does NOT honor cancelation agreements and will charge your card and NOT refund you upon timely cancellation. I have tried to contact management and they will not return calls or email. They took $400 from me even though I canceled my reservation prior to deadline. Do not give them your business. Such a disappointment. read more

My wife, daughter and I had two rooms on November 2nd ('twas the night before my birthday). Upon checking in at nearly 10 PM, I was advised that the Hotel was unable to issue room keys "but my manager is working on a refund for everyone". The lone desk agent was visibly shaken by having to deliver this news to a Hotel full of guests. We literally had no options at this point, but to check in to the mostly full hotel in a city where nearly all other rooms were booked when we made the reservation a couple weeks prior. Not only was no refund extended, the Hotel blew me off when I followed up in the morning. Hilton Corp didn't respond either. When I contacted the Hotel a week later to assure them that I consider keys for our rooms a minimum standard for a $400 12 hour stay, I was told management would be in contact to resolve. Unfortunately nobody ever attempted to do anything (or even respond). Having exhausted all other attempts at fair resolution, I disputed the charge on my credit card. After 6 weeks and two appeals I was told the Dispute was denied because we stayed in the rooms. Let's be clear, we slept in the rooms. We couldn't leave the rooms. Imprisoned by our regrettable choice to stay at a Hilton property. Couldn't go down and take advantage of breakfast or any other amenities because at least one of us would've had to stay in each room to let the sole venturer back in. I closed the credit card and my Hilton rewards account. And I certainly will not be staying at this, or any other Hilton property anywhere ever as long as I live. read more

This is a prototype that offers an environmentally friendly and efficient stay - hooks and shelves instead of drawers and closet. it's fine for an overnight stay, UNLESS your room is on the freeway side. I could literally look down on the traffic and it went on all night long. Even with earplugs and two pillows over my head, I could not sleep. The windows did not muffle the sound at all. Due to the New York airports closing, it messed up my meeting schedule and I needed to change a part of my reservation. Hilton.com could not help me because of the timing so I had to be at the mercy of the hotel. To my wonderful surprise, Laura (front desk) had spoken to Hilton.com the night before my arrival and was familiar with my situation. She was very pleasant! She told me she would get me an answer as soon as possible (as my other plans depended on the outcome). She was able to get back to me and she was able to work it out my requests. I was extremely grateful for her help! Besides the great outcome for me, she was very kind, understanding and very professional! If I would have gotten a no, I would still have been very happy with her efforts! Because of this experience and the kindness that I was greeted with, I will be back at this hotel on my next visit there. Thank you Laura and team!
