I recently stayed again at the TRU by Hilton for work. This time I tried checking in on the Hilton honors app like I do in other city's. Unfortunately this particular property doesn't offer digital check in. I pre-paid using a different card. The manger Jana needed to verify the same card at check in but I didn't have it. I had to use a different card to pay for room and deposit when I checked in but it wasn't a big deal because I travel with different cards. My first time meeting the manger as the front desk staff help me when I stay but she was very professional and lovely to me. I love staying here when I travel because its close to the airport, good eats, friendly staff and a great Manager in charge of this property apperently.I saw some other reviews saying how horrible this place is but they obviously tried getting away with something and cry when they don't get there way. In the past I have stayed here several times, about five months ago I went to check in and I had prepaid on the app and I use my debit card when I arrived at the hotel the young man who had never seen before needed that card that I paid with, but my card was a debit card and there was a card that they don't take so I said I already paid for the room so why do you need that card but I will give you my major credit card to go ahead for the incidentals and he telling me he couldn't do that. I said you already took the money out of my bank. It shows right here and I was showing him so at that point I asked if I could speak to the manager her name was Jenna and she came out very defensive and started telling me we don't take Chime. I said I'm not trying to give you Chime. I said I already paid for my room and she goes well. Chime prepaid and I had to correct her and say Chime is not a prepaid card. Chime is a bank. It may not be a brick and mortar but it's a Bank long story short. I just just hit rude and I just told her I'm good. I just don't feel welcome here and I just left the hotel fast-forward to today. I decided I had to come back. I decided to give it another chance it's been a while. I went in. It wasn't 3 o'clock yet which is the check-in time the room wasn't ready. no problem because it's not 3 o'clock I understood and I went and sat in my car is 96° and it's now it was after 4 o'clock in my room still wasn't ready so I decided they must not want my business. Keep in mind nobody in the parking lot no line at the desk. I had to call Hilton's customer service. They had to call and cancel true did not try to say oh we're so sorry have her come in? It's our fault. They just said yeah give her her money back counselor blah blah so what I'm finding out is that Hilton is no longer a corporation Jenna and her family own true and Lathrop and the Home whatever one further Homestead suite whatever it's called right across they own both of the hotels so they rented how they want so maybe that's how they run things in their home country but in any event very rude I will never go back if you're white you'll probably be treated well that's that that's what I'm thinking because when I wanted to be checked in I couldn't but another white couple walked in. They checked them in. They went upstairs cause I saw them and they came back down and left so why my room wasn't ready. Who knows like I said there's it's not crowded and there's no one here so I am going to file a formal complaint with Hilton corporation. Nothing will probably come of it and I'm also going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I would file with the Chamber of Commerce of Lathrop, but based on who the Maria is here and the owners of this hotel probably wouldn't do any good. So I will say that I really wanted to give told place a 4 star, but there was a few things lacking. I'll start with the pros, so you can see it's actually a nice place. The location is close to the freeway, there are tons of places to eat around the hotel, which is great because there is no onsite restaurant. Parking is fine, checking in was easy enough. Staff was nice so appreciate that. Breakfast was a continental breakfast which had some scrambled eggs, cereals, pancakes, bagels, all the little stuff. Rooms were nice for the price, had a king size bed. Now...unfortunately the cons. Room was dirty when we went in, floor was sticky and there was dust on the counters. No extra blankets or pillows in the room, no closet either...there were hooks to change things but not an actual closet. Windows were not sound proof...I heard ambulances, police sirens, cars burning out, motorcycles revving by...I had to put on my white noise. An ehhh kind of stay. I had to book last minute for a business trip. Unfortunately this meant I ended up with a room close to the elevator, on the second floor right above the outdoor patio area. It was very noisy and you can hear people talking outside and playing cornhole. The walls are kind of thin. I couldn't sleep very well, you can hear conversations clearly so I had to blast an extended white noise video on YouTube on the TV so I can sleep soundly. The bed is okay but not the best, it's too firm for my preference. I especially don't like how this hotel uses hooks and this weird pipe in lieu of a closet and drawers. Apparently it's specific to this hotel chain. It's very inconvienent for those who expect drawers. The sticker near the pipe with hangers advertised there was under the bed storage but there was clearly not??? It's just a metal box, no drawers or anything. I was extremely bummed out. The room comes with a microwave and a fridge, but no safe. The desk is right next to the AC unit so expect to get blasted with cold air when you try to work. The desk is also very tiny too. I liked how there's automatic lights as you walk into the room or the bathroom. The bathroom has a nice roomy shower with squeeze bottles for toiletries. I've never seen that before in a hotel! I'd like to see more hotels implement them. Breakfast was decent, there's an automatic pancake machine and your usual breakfast fares like cereals, oatmeal, eggs, sausage, etc. Coffee and tea is 24/7. read more

This hotel is nice and the lady at the front desk was wonderful but..... I did not sleep, I couldn't. The walls are paper thin and every car that went by sounded like a bulldozer coming through the door, not to mention there was so much traffic going by that the noise didn't let up for a minute. It's a shame to pay over $200 a night for NO SLEEP. I had been driving all day and pulled off after 10 hours for what I thought was going to be a restful night sleep.....Guess not. Bed bugs! Checked in late, got into my room on the 4th floor, unpacked, read a bedtime story and put my kid to sleep in his bed. Got into my bed and saw an adult bedbug on the pillow. Took the pillow into the bathroom, and got the bug wrapped up in a tissue, then went back and checked under my mattress where another adult bed bug was visible. By now I was freaking out. I went downstairs and told the lady at the front desk and she just nonchalantly says, "would you like another room?" It was so late that I decided to stay and got a new room. After checking the new room super thoroughly, I moved all of my stuff down, woke my kid and moved him too. I put all of my now possibly bug-ridden stuff in the shower in the new room. Spent the next day laundering all of my stuff. I asked the front desk how they could make it right since they ruined my whole day. They gave me some free soap for the laundry, but made me pay for coins for the machines. They refused to refund me or even give me a voucher or really anything. I dried everything on high heat for an hour each load and then bagged it all in heavy-duty trash bags. I threw my kid's $80 suitcase in the dumpster because I couldn't launder it. I got two bites on my back from my hour in the room, and both took a week to heal (bedbug bites take about a week, unlike mosquito bites which are 1-3 days). They said they have to wait for an expert to come verify. I was like, "there's a bud bug in the trash wrapped in a tissue!" but they didn't care. They kept saying wait for an expert and "our people didn't find anything". I asked multiple times to speak with a manager and they kept telling me they would get back to me but never did. After I left, they said they would contact me but never did. When I got home, I had to launder all of my stuff again out of caution, since I know what a nightmare bed bugs can be if they come home with you. I even called Hilton corporate and they said they would get in touch with Hilton Lathrop and get back to me but still haven't two weeks later. I'll never, ever come back. read more

First of all, do not believe the photos uploaded by Hilton. Hilton's photos show a spacious room interior, but it is nowhere near that large. The room is actually quite small. I'm not opposed to a functional room that makes good use of its space, especially for solo occupants who are just traveling for work, but the corners that Hilton has cut to squeeze in as many rooms into the building as possible come with a couple major drawbacks. First, the desk is incredibly small. This means that there's not a lot of room to move your legs underneath, which could affect your comfort depending on your height. Also, the desk is crammed right against the air conditioner so you will be subjected to blasts of cold air as you're trying to work. Second, there are no closets in the room. Some people may not use hotel storage spaces, but those that do will be sorely disappointed. Also, while there's a convenient shoe bench located under the TV, it's quite narrow and may be hard for bigger folks to use. Also, be warned that this hotel is located on a busy street next to a freeway entrance. It gets very loud with all of the freight trucks moving through, especially at night. Light sleepers such as myself may prefer another hotel location away from all of the traffic. On the plus side, the lobby is immaculately done. It looks very modern and hip with many comfortable chairs and lounging spaces. There's even a free pool table available for guest use. The fitness center is small, but adequate with its modest selection of free weights. The hotel staff is incredibly friendly! read more

I travel for work and my boss had booked me the hotel however I usually stay at the Hampton Inn across the street. The receptionist I checked in at the Hilton also works at that Hampton Inn and recognized me from a couple of months ago. She was really nice and attentive and helped me with my issues checking in. I live in Lathrop and needed some relaxing time and a break from my two children so I booked a room for two nights on a card. When I arrived as soon as I walked in Rosa was working the front desk was extremely rude. So rude I had to make this review. She asked for a card for the deposit and told me they don't accept that card (the same card I bought the room with) thankfully my friend dropped me off and Rosa took her card. As soon as I got to my room 202 the people above us were extremely loud. So I called the front desk explained to Rosa I booked a room there so I can get some rest and a little break from my two small children and need a room that I can get some rest. Her response was "well this is a hotel" Thankfully a few hours later Rosa was gone and JADE was working the front desk. She was very sweet, kind and pleasant. That's the only reason I booked a room for another night because I got no sleep. U can hear conversations from the rooms next to u. They had the alarm clocks set to go off at 6am. I figured out how to turn it off but the following morning I could hear the other rooms with the alarms going off at 6am! The pictures they have posted make the hotel look way better than what it is. Tru by Hilton is basically a motel 6 but a hotel and the name Hilton makes it sound a lot more appealing. They couldn't care less about their reviews or customers I haven't seen them respond to one. I would stay here again if I pass through this area. Wish I had more time to enjoy the open space and plenty of sitting area inside and outside. After experiencing the Best Western Plus in Stockton, I wanted to stay in another city, so I chose the Tru by Hilton Lathrop and I'm glad I did! I didn't realize it was a brand new hotel but I was pleasantly pleased with everything this hotel had to offer. The area seemed safe, there's a couple gas stations in walking distance as well as: KFC/A&W, Jack in the box, McDonald's, Taco Bell, Popeyes, Denny's, a few other hotels and it's right by the freeway! Great location! The do not have a pool, but they do have a cute, modern lounge area with board games, a pool table, 3 personal cubicles & corn hole outside. As you go towards the elevator, the gym is to the right and there's a water bottle filling area along with the ice machine. It's a 4 floor hotel, the decor is bright & colorful. From the yellow and blue rocks at the entrance, to the colorful walls, it gave me modern retro vibes. The beds were comfortable. The pillows were too soft (bring your own as extra, if you prefer fuller pillows). The bathroom sink had hand soap & lotion dispensers that you squeeze to dispense product. The fresh lemon scent was just the right amount, not too overpowering. The shower had body wash, shampoo and conditioner, with the same dispenser & fresh lemon scent. They provide hot breakfast in the morning which included sausage links, eggs, cereal, oatmeal, English muffins and bagels. Due to COVID, you tell the employees what you want and they serve you. They provide trays so if you'd like to take it to your room, you're more than welcome to. Parking is a little tight as they share it with the Hampton Inn. Twice I came extremely late (due to softball games) but I always found a parking spot. But if you're driving a bigger vehicle, it may be harder for you to find a parking spot the later you arrive in the day. I made the reservation via the app, so you can definitely check in via the app. I had a brain fart and didn't check in via the app and I'm glad I didn't because there was mishap when I tried booking the night prior. I booked via the app, logged in obviously, I entered my AAA number and it said my reservation was confirmed. I didn't receive a confirmation number & nothing was emailed to me. So I booked again & finally received an email. I thought nothing of it, but it wasn't until I checked in that the front desk lady informed me that I had 2 reservations. I showed her my app and I only had one reservation, she then said cancelled the one I had no information for. Two days after checkout, I realized I was still charged for one night for the extra room. I called the hotel, explained my situation & the friendly lady said she'd email me if she were able to reverse the charges. She was able to & she emailed me letting me know. What a relief!!! The hotel was amazing but the customer service made this place 100% better! Would DEFINITELY stay here again, but I doubt I'm ever going back to Stockton lol read more

We stayed at this hotel for four nights. Our very first day we had to change rooms because the room was in very bad shape. The couch had stains, the mattress had a slope in it and the furniture was scratched up. The room was very unacceptable to us. The premises are very apparent, the parking structure are huge, once you enter walk in a couple of steps. The check counter was in front of the entrance surrounded by goodies, drinks you can buy and staff always have that friendly smile. The surroundings are very clean and cafe bar, gym is on your right , And the billiard table is on your left as you walk in the elevator. Room is not quite large that can fit into two queen size beds, no closets, this is a contemporary style $ 196.50/day include breakfast . We asked the (room cleaner) please, if she can substitute a new set of towels when she cleans our room and she says yes. At night we return ready for a shower before hitting the bed, we realize that our room was not clean and the towels were never replaced. So, we call the help desk if they can provide us a new set of towels. Instead of having somebody send it to us, they want us to go down and get it. The worse scenario when we are having our breakfasts. There's a lady working, she's a little tall, thin, short hair, blond or brown. She's weird, I noticed she staring at people like a hawk when they getting their food. She stand behind their back looking up and down, left and right, It will be understandable if she is going to fill up the food, putting more plates, fork , knifes or condiments. She should know we covered breakfast. That's really unprofessional on her part. read more

I booked a king room a week prior to my date, received a confirmation of a king room. A day prior I attempted to use the Hilton Honors App to check in and my reservation could not be found. So I attempted to check it online via the hotel website. At that time I learned my reservation was 2 queen beds, not what I reserved and not what my confirmation stated. So I call the hotel directly and the desk clerk says she's new to call back...WTH is this not a Hilton brand hotel. So she couldn't help, said she'd have her manager call me back. Never happened. Call the day of my reservation, very apologetic but sorry booked and all we have. So get to the hotel at 3pm, check in time and room not ready. So the hotel is new and mid century modern decor, touts extreme cleanliness...there is a very large hair in the shower, not mine. read more

I was told my dog isn't a service dog because I am not blind or deaf. I love the ignorance of people, especially at a hotel in Lathrop, CA. They told me they would have to deep clean the room. It has hardwood floors and a clump of hair in the bathroom when we arrived, so I doubt they will deep clean anything. read more

Best hotel I have found in the lathrop/Stockton area. Rooms are small but nice and the bed is very comfy.

They say they have a printer, but it takes about 15 minutes in an act of God to actually get a print out of this thing which I never did. Hilton stop being so goddamn cheap and put a regular printer so us business people can get about our day it's pretty ridiculous that rooms $180 and I can't get a quick print for the day. Extremely disappointed. The girl at the lobby was no help whatsoever and was very dismissive. Please fire her as she can't think outside the box and acts like a goddamn robot. Get a clue. Conveniently right off the freeway - but due to heavy windows, we didn't hear much more than a buzz - perhaps if the AC was off, it would have been louder. Windows are large (they don't open) and are covered with a giant opaque shade with a light design on it which gave privacy but still allowed us to see out. Bed was extremely comfortable - king room was large with microwave and fridge. TV remote was easy to operate - not so many buttons that you need lights on to operate at night. Bathroom was wonderful - no little plastic bottles of shampoo - instead, large squeeze bottles of lotion, shampoo, gel soap, and conditioner attached to the wall at sink and shower. Wish all hotels would use them - no recycling needed. The shower was huge and spotless. Luggage carts available at front door for checkin. Breakfast was good, but could use improvement. Pancake machine makes 2 - so one gets wasted if there's no one in line. Cheese omelets were premade, so the ones on top were cold. Sausage was sliced kielbasa - not breakfast sausage. However, the freshly made oatmeal had lovely toppings - nuts, fruit, sugar. and the pancakes had three kinds of syrup, chocolate chips, whipped cream - great for kids. Sliced sweet breads and bagels with peanut butter and cream cheese were also available. Seating both inside and out in an enclosed courtyard. Coffee and tea 24 hours a day. Small gym on main floor. Ice machine with ice buckets and a water bottle filler on main floor by elevators was clean and convenient. Staff was friendly and professional. I will definitely look for this hotel brand whenever I travel. And there's an awesome Mexican restaurant within walking distance. Counter ordering, but nice clean tables and salsa bar. read more

Second time in a week they have not let me check in using my Hilton honors app digital key. I am a DIAMOND member. This allows me to bypass all lines and signing paperwork, and allows me to go straight to my room after a long day. The first time they said the system was down, and the second time they say it's to prevent fraud. They're full of you know what and just don't want to let customers use the app without first checking in at the front desk. read more

Overall nice hotel. The front desk women was nice enough to extend our reservation over the phone since we decided to travel a day ahead. We were able to stay in the same room. The hotel was cautious about cleanliness due to the pandemic. Only thing I would comment is the refrigerator made too much noise at night, which we ended up unplugging. And the bathroom walls had brown splats that looked like it came from the toilet. Walls are thin, so you can hear people staying in the room next door. But I would still consider staying here again. read more

Stayed here overnight while on a road trip. The place is great - very clean, friendly staff, functional room set up. Sheets were amazingly soft. They have a pool table in the lobby that my kids enjoyed. There's also a cabinet of board games in the lobby that you can use. They offer free breakfast, but we didn't get to try it this time.
