Great place for all ages waterpark fun arcade lazer tag and food 10/10 recommend come here with your kids this summer

We had a perfect trip with our 2.5 year old. All the staff were awesome. I know it's a kid place but it was so nice to see how much the staff enjoyed interacting with the kids and helping and creating magic for them. The activities directors, the wait staff, the cleaning staff, everyone was so nice. I'm not sure if it's a Canadian thing or a GWL thing but the WATERPARK staff and life guards seemed to focus more on actually monitoring for drowning that just yelling at people about life vests and such (Kalahari in the states the staff were just so fixated on this stuff instead of actually helping anyone) We did not do a paw pass as my toddler probably didn't need most of that stuff but we did do the demo version of the magiquest which was so fun. We visited the gift shop of course, and we did the arcade since they had a little carousel ride thing. In the water park we did the lazy river a lot, wave pool, outdoor pool, and wooly mammoth family slide once. Plenty to do with a toddler and well worth our time IMO

Nice short vacation to GWL. We only spent two days there and we had a great time. Aside from the main water park, arcade, and Build-a-Bear Workshop, they also have some other kids friendly activities like mini golf, mini bowling, and the MagiQuest Game. Lucky enough the weather was beautiful for outdoor fun. The kids played two rounds of mini putt this time! Nice clean facility, friendly staffs, and well-maintained guest rooms. Great family time in the summer for both indoor and outdoor fun. Recommended. Can always stop by for shopping at the Outlet Collection Niagara as a bonus too!

Our family has gone to gwl for many years and we always have a great time. It may be extremely expensive but it is a great treat once in awhile for the kids. When we arrived the room was ready pretty quick and the bathroom was definitely cleaner than most other hotel bathrooms even if the shower curtain was low. The mattresses were meh and the decor has been the same since we first came here but they are renovating the room so I'm excited. They did the bathroom in the lobby and it if very nice. The water park was good, maybe since one wing was closed for renovation it wasn't all that busy. The outdoor pool was super relaxing since when we stayed it was beautiful outside and didn't have that weird pool echo. For extras we did also do the mini golf which was a super fun family experience since the kids had never done it before. We also got free bowling from bingo (yes my kids played not me grown lady with 6 boards) so that was fun. We only did the breakfast and yes our family doesn't have any food allergies or things like that but the food was great and the fruit was surprisingly fresh. One of my complaints though is that my mom ordered a kale salad at buckets ( the water park restaurant) and the lady at the cash was like yep ok and we payed for it then found out that actually nope they didn't have it so sorry. The restaurant was very crazy except for this one guy who seemed to run it. The magic quest was good if a bit crazy, I want to thank this one person who has been working at magic quest for forever and is always super helpful and nice. I know the employees are supposed to be nice but except for a few they are. For my final thing since we have gone here a lot they gave us a free pizza or a game of laser tag which we used to get a pizza ( see the photo) so thank you great wolf lodge

This is an amazing place to take your kids for a once in a lifetime vacation. The rooms are great, there are lots of suites with different sleeping arrangements, double beds, pullout couches, and even bunk beds for the kiddos. And considering how loud it is almost constantly, there is a strict 10pm quiet time, which is apparently enforced by getting a knock on your door if you are being loud past the quiet curfew. But I honestly think it's great, then you and the kids get some sleep. The entertainment is second to none that I have experienced. The entire resort is geared towards kids. There is always something happening in the main hall, magic shows, dance parties, puppet shows etc. As well as the gift shop that has a wand you can purchase. Once the wand is charged, kids can walk all around the hotel and wave their wands for neat things to happen. Things open, light up or move. It's pretty neat. They all feel like Harry Potter The only draw backs are that almost everything costs money, but there are extended packages you can get that include most things like arcade credits, that also get you in to use the bowling alleys, virtual reality games and laser tag. These are the best deals, it's basically cheaper to get a package than do each thing individually. The water park is amazing! A lazy river, wave pool, hot tubs, and so many slides! It also has two lunch restaurant's inside the park so you don't have to go back and get dressed to eat. The meal package is worth it, it includes the breakfast buffet, lunch vouchers and the dinner buffet. Here's a tip for the buffets, go as early as you can to get a table, they will give you a buzzer and you can continue with whatever you are doing then head over when you are buzzed that your table is ready. Another tip for you, book way in advance. I mean like 6 months in advance. It a popular place and it is always very, very busy. We had so much fun here. Again pricy, but if you are looking for an incredible experience for your kids this is it. Cheaper than Disneyland!

Our 6 year old had a blast here. The water park is so fun. We could access it before our room was ready. Texting with Willow during our stay is so great. I got updates as to when our room would be ready, and could ask questions throughout our stay. We had the fireplace suite. Very spacious room with a balcony. Beds were very soft (maybe too soft for my liking, but no big deal). The fireplace warmed the room nicely. So much that we had to open the sliding door. The room itself was clean and well kept. No issues. Lots of towels left for us so no need to get fresh ones during our stay. Water park is a blast. Fun for all ages, and the lifeguards are visible and attentive. Staff here were nothing short of spectacular. So friendly, all the time. You will spend a lot of money and not realize it as everything is tied to your wrist band (which is how you pay for stuff at the shops, and enter your room). The only reason I gave it 4 stars: lack of elevators. There's, from what I could tell, 3 total guest elevators in the entire place. 4 floors, two wings to each that are huge. There's one elevator at the end of each wing, and one in the center that utilized to get down to the water park too. It's especially frustrating because we had our 5 month old with us and needed her stroller, so stairs weren't an option. Otherwise, we loved it here and will be back.

I have been going to this hotel for *years* - literally started staying here while in Niagara Falls with my *first* ex-husband - that was over 20 years ago. This hotel is beautiful, with a gorgeous Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired lobby (usually...........). They have a wonderful spa just off the lobby with exceptional staff, and most reception employees are very nice. Super easy to get stuff sent to the room (extra towels, toiletries, coffee, etc) - they respond very quickly to messages in the app. Their beds are 100% the most comfortable beds I have ever experienced in a hotel anywhere. Although this isn't a true "fallsview" hotel (like the Marriott or Embassy Suites, for example), the view of the American falls and of the nightly fireworks is amazing. Their prices for on-site parking have gone up, but are still very competitive for the area (we checked). So overall, this is a great place to stay when in Niagara Falls, right? Which is why we always come here. I've stayed here about 15 times with my Boyfriend since 2020. But here is the issue we encountered this time around. Upon check-in we noticed a very different atmosphere in the lobby. A large desk had been installed in a corner by the spa with several - I'm talking 6 or 7 - security guards at that table, and a couple other stationed at different other spots in the lobby. A large white board propped by the stairs that lead to the pool/gym, with a "transport schedule" on it. The hotel's steakhouse restaurant, Buchanan's, was closed for an "event". Curious, we asked the front desk employee what was going on - why the many security guards? She told us that a large group was staying at the hotel """for an event""" and that they had brought in their own security. Now even more curious. We could tell the "large group" were Indigenous people and Boyfriend being part Native, we started trying to figure out what the "event" could be. Couldn't find anything anywhere online. We were a bit worried because they were rowdy... a couple of men were actually sitting, obviously drunk or high, in the parking lot, and special-needs looking children were running around wild in the lobby. Long story... not short... we finally found out, from some hotel staff, what is going on. This large group isn't staying at the hotel for an event at all - thanks Doubletree for lying to us. They are a group from an indigenous town or village in James Bay that had to be relocated because of a contaminated water situation. They have been staying in Niagara Falls SINCE LAST FEBRUARY. The government is paying the bill for their stay - obviously the hotel management must love this, because they are making lots of money and filling the hotel rooms during what is usually the low season. Buchanan restaurant is being used as some sort of "cafeteria" for them - that's why it's closed. These guests of the government are given Wal Mart gift cards daily for their needs - food, etc (hence the bus schedule on a board, it takes them shopping every day) - and we were told that many of them sell or trade these gift cards in town to buy alcohol and drugs. Overall, were we *personally* really inconvenienced by these long term guests? Not really. They apparently have been given their own (lower) floors and we were staying on the 17th floor. All we truly witnessed was: drunk/high people in the parking lot and lobby, and rowdy kids/teens in the lobby. Dirty elevators, which never used to happen in this hotel. But the whole hotel atmosphere was different. My problem is, the lack of transparency from the hotel about this situation. I feel they should advise people prior to booking, and absolutely if I had known, I would NOT have stayed here unless a special rate or discount was given to make it up to "regular" guests. We paid $300+ per night, plus taxes & parking, to stay here - at that cost, I'm not putting up with an unsafe environment. Staff told us they aren't sure when the "government's guests" will be leaving. If you are considering staying at this hotel in the near future, I would strongly advise contacting the hotel and asking some questions beforehand. If they aren't forthcoming, contact the spa.
