The Scott Antique Market comes to Columbus regularly, (Ohio) the show is held monthly November through March at the Ohio Expo Center. The place is huge like a British Show Ground. Big barn type buildings. These shows are an antique dealer or collectors paradise with over 800 vendor booths in Columbus offering the finest selection of investment quality antiques in the country. You can find a selection of gold, silver, jewelry, antique pottery, glassware, furniture, and so much more at the Scott Antique Market. This is what makes the shows a can't miss event for any dealer or collector. The Scott Antique Markets are supposedly the largest indoor antique shows in the world although Newark UK is pretty big so not sure. I went here with a friend who owned an antique shop in Lithopolis, Ohio. She and I browsed and she would ask my advice or I would find something yummy and run to her to see it (I did do antique dealing myself once and have a decent eye..used to buy for her in UK too). One thing I noticed were that the stallholders were not great at descriptions..2 or 3 showed me furniture they said was English and to me it definately Spanish, Portuguese or Dutch..too dark and heavy for English pieces. A good half day out. Baragains to be had but beware those descriptions..they could be wrong.

I took this photo at about 3:45 - with many, many dealers closed well before the 5 pm closing time.

I stumbled upon Unique Treasures after my most recent pit stop at the Clintonville Farmers Market…read more After walking by as I was heading to and from the car, I was intrigued by the dusty window and old signage. I just knew there had to be something special in there waiting for me! I opened the door and immediately noticed the large amount of inventory crammed into this little store. There was so much to choose from, I didn't even know where to start. No lie! I ended up starting towards the front of the room and eventually worked my way to the back. After browsing around for some time, I discovered everything from full tea sets to old photos, tons of jewelry, some awesome wall mirrors (with a touch of paint they'll be good as new!), records, and so much more! The fella that runs the placed is named Bob and he was so sweet. He has his nameplate on the desk next to the register, which made it really easy for me to know who to ask for when I was ready to check out. I assured him that I'll be back on Saturdays after the farmers market and he said he's almost always there (unless he's visiting Florida, haha). After about 15 minutes of looking around, I found a handful of cool jewelry pieces that I wanted. I ended up narrowing my option down to a really pretty blue pendant that simply needed a chain to be turned into a bohemian style necklace. For only a few dollars, I practically had a brand new piece of jewelry that could go with just about anything in my closet. Absolute score! I can truly say that I'm eager to make this a more regular stop on my weekend trips to the market. If I only looked around for fifteen minutes and found something good, just imagine what I could find with twenty, thirty, plus.

I called to see if the owner was aware that they were selling fake cards, and not only was she aware, but was pretty derogatory after I called to inform her about it. She blatantly said "yeah, they're fake. That's why they're $4" (packs of pokemon cards MSRP for $4.50 btw so it's not an outlandish price that would make one suspicious). That's nice, you should have a sign up stating that or some sort of disclaimer instead of trying to cheat your customers! If they're knowingly selling fake cards and engaging in that sort of scummy business practice, I would be hesitant to buy anything at all from them. Doesn't care about the authenticity of her items, nor does she care about her customers experience. Deceptive business and a deplorable person to take advantage of customers who don't know any better! Call with Sarah admitting to selling counterfeit products and and being incredibly disrespectful: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GnkKSQzMBzlsVs0rJ3vX-DpoT8XsDxUT/view?usp=drivesdk Edit: just an update, I opened a dispute with my bank regarding this fraudulent transaction. The bank asked for any evidence of the cards being fake, and along with pictures of the actual product, I recorded the following phone call where "Sarah" admitted to knowingly selling me counterfeit products. Not only is this proof of my review above, but you can also see the awful customer service that this establishment is home to. I have never felt so disrespected, and have a feeling the owners would not be happy knowing this is how this woman treats people. Sarah, if you "hate your job" so much, quit

The building is unassuming from the outside, but the inside is filled with anything from ancient church doors to vintage Kotex dispensers. The whole front room is filled with hundreds (even thousands?) of doorknobs, screws, locks, hinges, etc. Bigger furniture pieces are in the maze-like warehouse that lies in the middle of the structure, and there's a salvage yard out back. We saw some truly beautiful pieces and also some unique, more crafty and modern pieces. A word of warning: this is NOT a thrift shop. Though their inventory is very old, it is in good condition and is relatively rare I'd assume, so their pricing is moderate/expensive. I did, however, purchase some glass slides for what I thought was a reasonable price. This is an awesome find in a bustling city like Columbus and I'm so glad it exists. I will definitely be back and would recommend it to people to visit, especially if they're looking for specific pieces for a project or to decorate their home.

There are some amazing vendors that have quality vintage pieces at very affordable prices. You can tell that they take time and care with what they stock and how they set up their displays. I find that my favorite booths get restocked often with an array of new treasures. I've purchased beautiful original art, handmade ceramic pottery, a gorgeous Persian rug and many more one of a kind pieces. This is my go to place whenever I'm looking for unique home decor or a special gift. The off putting.. the staff is usually so helpful and kind but there is one employee (Kerry) that can be outright nasty to customers. I witnessed her make disparaging remarks about another customer. She did this in earshot of my mother and I and then acted like the other customer had personally offended her or done something wrong when they asked for a discount on a damaged item from her booth. She then proceeded to speak to my mother about why her nasty remark was justified. It was gross and I hope that the owner of the store reads this review and is able to address Kerry's nasty attitude. The other complaint is when you see an item with a thrift store price tag right next to the vendors highly inflated price tag. So tacky! I do highly recommend this store but I also hope they can address these issues.
