Iron Coffee is my favorite. I have yet to find another local coffee place that is this gorgeous and leaves me wishing I could stop here every day. The Dirty Hippie iced espresso drink is my number one go-to - which is like their take on a dirty chai latte, with cinnamon and all, it's incredible. They do have food as well, so this is the perfect place to stop by for a pick-me up or breakfast / brunch pit stop. I highly recommend bringing your laptop or book, and just hanging out for a bit enjoying your beverage, etc. They have a cute little loft with several comfortable seating arrangements up there, as well as a couch and some bar seating space downstairs in the main area. It is dog friendly and they often times have several in and out so that's a plus as well! 10/10 recommend. #1 favorite local spot, hands down. read more

Stopped into Iron Coffee the other day for a cup of coffee. It was pretty busy so I was optimistic. The coffee was ok, not great, but ok. We had the dark roast and would have thought it would be a little more robust in flavor but it wasn't. It seemed a bit weak like not enough coffee used or the roast wasn't roasted dark enough. The service was great however so that was a plus. Nice and friendly staff all the way around. There were a lot of locals there so it seems to do a decent business. But to be honest, it's the only coffee house in town. The place seemed a bit dark and dirty. The exhaust system must be not working or not strong enough because the entire place smelled of what ever was being cooked on the griddle. We sat upstairs and our eyes watered the entire time we were there. The odor got on our clothes and stuck with us until we got home. Their restroom wasn't clearly marked and was kind of hidden back by the kitchen area. It was also very dark where it was located. A little more light all the way around would be helpful. The concept and decor is a great idea but it felt more like what we use to call a "greasy spoon" restaurant than a quaint coffee house. It won't take much to make it better but as it is, can't say much good about the experience it Iron Coffee Co. I hope they take this review in a positive light as there really isn't much that needs to be done to make it a very special place to go for coffee. We just so happened upon this awesome spot traveling through upstate NY in route to Canada. We got a 'Dirty Hippy' which was an awesome chai latte with oat milk & espresso. Our son ordered two pancakes and they were huge and super yummy. My wife and I got two breakfast sandwiches which were also huge! The atmosphere was great, everyone there was super nice & Bananas the dog rounded it all off quite nicely. The only complaints we have are that there is not a good enough sign outside. We were trying to find a bathroom and that was the main reason we stopped in town... The Walgreens would not let us use it and then we saw people coming out of this place with coffee cups and only then realized there was a coffee place right there. I was not sure whether Iron Coffee would be a good place to work, only because I couldn't find pictures of a seating area on Yelp. I was pleasantly surprised to find a large, comfortable, well-lit lounge on the second floor. It has a very homey, simple feel. I enjoyed every minute in this space and wish I lived near here -- I would be here all the time. I also like that they don't play music (or at least didn't when I visited). The place has good vibes without music, and the quiet makes for a better environment for everybody to do their own thing. read more

NYC cuisine comes to Hoosick Falls. Quality of the food is second to none. Best bacon and sausage, eggs, sourdough bread ... many if not most are locally produced. You can actually buy loaves of the delicious sourdough bread products they use. Pancakes are a bomb - light and fluffy and taste of healthy grains, with pure maple syrup, of course. The French pastries and other baked goods look absolutely authentic (e.g., made with real butter by traditional methods), though I and my friends have not tried them. My only complaint is the limited menu, which is pretty carb-heavy. Fresh fruit and Greek yogurt, for example, would round out the menu nicely. And possibly options with vegetables such as an omelette choice, or at least greens like arugula or a roasted eggplant slice to add to the egg sandwiches. It's easy to have a quiet and relaxed breakfast here, especially in the upstairs eating area. The servers are very nice and time is taken to assure everything is made properly. What a great spot! Downstairs, where the coffee counter is, gets tons of natural light and has a bar lining the windows. There's pinball, too. Upstairs is a lofted space boasting lots of options for working, including tables for two, couches, chairs and a larger communal table. There's also a bar perfect for standing. Coffee is hot, fresh and expertly made with standard options and some drinks unique to iron. They offer baked goods and breakfast fair plus a bottomless spigoted jug of cold water. As a writer, I try to work outside of the house once a week so as not to forget how to interact with the world. Iron has become my go-to spot for this. I know this will sound weird but it is exceptionally clean, and I really appreciate that. Not all coffee places are... which is just bizarre. Dog friendly, and so far all the dogs I've met there (a lot of them) have been excellently behaved, usually hanging out with each other and sometimes checking out the clientele. It's fun watching them play. Of course, I'm a dog person. That said, even if I weren't I don't think I'd mind. People seem to leave their less than well-behaved doggos at home (I know I do!) read more

This place makes Hoosick Falls destination-worthy. I highly recommend the Brasil roast, which is a perfectly positioned medium dark--not that annoying acidic cherry acid of many medium roasts, yet not a burnt dark roast devoid of flavor either. Incredibly smooth with light chocolate notes. Café space itself is excellent--warehouse loft vibe on a corner location. Take a seat at the bar and chat with the staff, or sit window side and watch the occasional car roll by. Better yet, find some space to yourself upstairs. Though the quality of the brew is high, there are no coffee snobs here--staff is down to earth. Cortados were great--we'll be back to try egg sandwiches and pancakes. read more

Hands down my favorite coffee shop. The owner, Mike, hit the nail on the head with this well-needed establishment in Hoosick Falls. You can see the influence of West Coast third wave coffee shops. It's the small details like coffee beans on the live edge bar top that make a difference. The smell of freshly roasted beans was enough to draw me in. Not to mention the breakfast options . Do yourself a favor and grab a coffee with a Milly (breakfast sandwich named after the adorable coffee shop dog ). They have upstairs seating as well where I can comfortably get work done. I'm from out-of-state and I was looking for a local coffee shop that offered wifi and I came across this place. I visited with a friend yesterday and we both enjoyed our experience. He got a mocha latte, which he thoroughly enjoyed. I got a mocha cappuccino which I loved. I went back today and got a mocha cappuccino, then a cold brew, and took a mocha latte to-go. I'll be back tomorrow for a third time. It's great that such a quiet area has such an awesome little coffee shop. The ambience was perfect and I loved the smell of the coffee mixed with the wood. I do wish this place existed closer to home. I'd frequent it regularly and it seemed that there were lots of regulars that came in to grab a coffee on their way to other places. This is a great coffee shop for HF! Been living here for about a year now and I pop in Iron coffee every so often. The coffee is always fresh, well made and you can enjoy a beautiful pup named Milly. (BTW pet friendly! Which I think is great!!) They do have breakfast which I think is wonderful! But couple things have rubbed me the wrong way. One time my boyfriend and I were eating breakfast and the owner changed the price of the item we were eating in front of us. Then charged us that price he just changed. I think that was rude. And I used to get a nice feeling going in. It sometimes I feel like it's not as friendly as it used to and get stared at by couple of the workers. Gem of a place nestled in downtown Hoosick Falls. House-roasted coffee served by knowledgeable and enthusiastic coffee craftspeople. They offer fresh bakery items daily from a local bakery, and milk products from Batenkill Dairy. They clearly care that your coffee has good company that is also local. We tried the Brazilian and Guatemalan roasts as pour overs. Both were flavorful and rich. The Guatemalan roast was a little darker which appealed to my palette. We took a pound of beans home, we liked it so much. The team was jovial and talkative which made our experience ideal. We'll definitely be back for both the coffee and chatter.
