I had a meeting this morning and had a little time to kill so I figured why not get something to munch on first while I wait? So I went into the Yellow Deli not expecting much. As I'm looking at the menu I'm intrigued with the variety of foods they have. I opted for the Rueben. I don't like rye bread so I asked to put it on a Kaiser roll instead. I am so glad I picked that. It was probably the best Reuben sandwich I've had as long as I can remember. It came out hot, and I mean hot!!! Cheese all melty and it was delicious!!! The owners Yaakov and Dvekah very friendly, conversational, and inviting. I want able to stay and eat very long because I had a precious appointment but I am very happy I went in. My wife and I were in town on business for the day and had a few hours to spare between events. We wanted to support a local spot for lunch and decided to give this place a try. Boy, are we glad we did. At first glance, the menu seemed pretty simple with limited options, but sometimes less is more and that was definitely the case here. We started with the banana milk, and it was phenomenal. You could taste the fresh banana in every sip, perfectly blended and not overly sweet. My wife ordered the strawberry milkshake and it was just as impressive; creamy, refreshing, and full of real strawberry flavor. For food, we shared the turkey sandwich, which was out of this world. The flavors were balanced beautifully with fresh veggies and just the right amount of sauce. To top it off, we ordered the waffles with fresh fruit, which were absolute perfection. The waffles came off the grill hot and crisp, paired with vibrant, fresh fruit, and drizzling rich maple syrup onto them was the highlight of the meal. The place itself is small and cozy, with a cabin-style charm that makes you feel right at home. It's the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy simple but incredibly well-made food, and appreciate the little details that set it apart. Such a gem of a cafe! The staff is very nice and I love the cozy comforting decor inside. Perfect for lunch or a quick bite during the day. I got a soup, half salad and cheese melt. I was stuffed and took home the bread that came on the side. Also! I tried the Dandy Blend and fell in love. It's the best non caffeinated drink you can order! It comes with sugar but I'm sure you can ask for it to be made without. Very similar taste to a coffee latte but without a crash. Highly recommend to try!! read more

Outstanding: Food, Service, Ambiance, and the view. I don't know what took us so long to stop at this loved local favorite, but please do yourself a favor and go. The service was top notch, from start to finish - no matter how busy, they welcome you like an old friend and treat you like family. The menu had plenty of options to suit any taste or dietary need, and everything was beautifully prepared, presented, and so deliciously home made! Even the tea bag package was cute! Inside was lovely, but if you're lucky enough to snag a table outside, the view can't be beat. Prices were great, food was great, portions plentiful, the place is clean and lovely, and we absolutely have a new favorite spot. Save some time to take a little stroll after. He got: the spinwich, a coffee, and a cinnamon roll I got: a custom veggie sandwich (the vegan spread is divine!), a papaya juice, and an earl grey. We were visiting the area & had such a lovely brunch on a cold day. We sat "outdoors" which is enclosed & has a great heater. The windows look out to the Hudson River & the park. Overall a good spot. The place is small and cozy. Everything is made in house. Sometimes when you get a roll it feels like it's been microwaved to reheat so it has that rubbery feel which is ehh, but not the worst thing ever. Food does always come out hot and seems fresh! The staff are kind and soft spoken. They have a small menu, but shouldn't be too hard to find something you like. The desserts are always awesome...recommend the carrot cake. I am surprised-seeing only 5 star reviews I had very high expectations for an amazing meal. What I got was just...OK. the ambiance is very nice, but the food was pretty average. The coffee was not good, and my breakfast sandwich was mediocre. The worst part was that it came with ketchup on it. Ketchup! This deli/cafe is a very adorable & comfortable environment. Our server was the best and made us feel at home as well as the cooks and cashier. Even the menu is very welcoming and creative We were sat near a furnace in the inner patio and were treated to a Maté tea with homemade local raw honey & an Ole Saint Joe coffee (both were so refreshing and delicious, highly recommend). We then ordered Poached Eggs which came with buttered toast and homemade cranberry jam (never seen such PERFECTLY cooked poached eggs). Also, Homemade Granola which came with fresh fruit & milk. This is the most wholesome breakfast/lunch spot with delicious food and friendly, attentive service. We ordered coffee, maté, the veggie burger, and the deli rose sandwich with coleslaw. We also split their cherry almond muffin. Everything was scrumptious. We're eager to try the whole menu! The food tasted very fresh and we left feeling nourished and satisfied. It's clear they use quality ingredients and make their food with love. The ambience is also so welcoming and cozy (think log cabins, beehives, the fiddle and mandolin, and sweet tea). We stumbled upon the yellow deli today and we were curiously impressed. We were greeted by a friendly staff and welcomed with samples of a variety of teas. They were so unique and refreshing that we ended up purchasing a glass of their Brazilian mango matte. As we perused the rest of menu, we pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices listed throughout. We decided on the Long Island Rancher and the Turkey Pesto Sandwich and were more than satisfied. Fresh yummy food for vegetarians as well as meat eaters, a beautiful water view on the patio, and a really cute cottage like indoors made our morning-after-wedding so so nice. I meant to post this under the Oak Hill, NY location. I haven't been to the Coxsackie restaurant. I don't know why it took me so long to try this place but I will definitely be back. The decor is amazing. Its so cozy with all different nooks to sit at. The woodwork is amazing. The menu is simple but quite enough, only sandwiches and salads. We had a chef's salad and the cranberry cashew salad. They came with a slab, not just a slice, of warm homemade bread slathered in butter. The house dressing was delicious. The salad was the perfect lunch portion. The waiter was a very welcoming man named Levi. He even gave us samples of the iced teas they offer. My daughter and I stopped on a beautiful summer day. Ordered a sandwich to share and a half salad. Both were excellent. The tiny deli is decorated beautifully and, if it hadn't been so nice out, would have been a cute place to sit for lunch (but we sat in the adjoining park by the river). Our food was very good and the salad came with a very good piece of bread. The sandwich was in a brown cardboard box (awesome!). The salad however was in a plastic box. We'd love to see the owners come up with a better choice for that. Our only other tiny suggestion is that they ask whether a customer wants ketchup or not. Neither of us is a fan of it....Because there were so many other flavors happening in our sandwich, it was fine though. We definitely recommend this deli! read more

This is a wonderful little gem of a place. Before you even get to the food, the craftsmanship that went into putting the inside of this place together is awesome. Combine that with servers who are always friendly and attentive, and food that is carefully prepared from the freshest ingredients - and always delicious - and you can't miss. It's right on the edge of the beautiful Hudson River Islands State Park and the covered patio out back has a lovely view of the river. Sometimes there are musicians playing as well. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food. They are closed on Saturday- mainly a breakfast and lunch (or yummy snack) place. read more
