I can't believe I'm the first to review this place!…read more We have been excited to check out the new Motion Junction playground since before it was finished and open to the public. We heard that it was supposed to be fully inclusive, the first of its kind. So when we saw the sign for the grand opening ceremony, we knew we were going! The ceremony was really beautiful, and a lot more people attended than I expected. They told us the story of how the idea of this playground came to be, recognized everybody that helped and donated, and informed us that it would be finished in "phases". So it is not yet complete, even though the playground is ready be loved and enjoyed by all! I honestly can not tell you how much I love this playground. The ground is padded with soft, squishy material. (It won't hurt if you fall!) There are sidewalks and ramps everywhere. For kids there are monkey bars, balance platforms, bridges, slides, musical instruments, fully accessible swings, zip lines, and more! There is a giant smiley face "meet up" spot. There are buddy benches for kids that want to find a friend. There is a communication station for the nonverbal. Umbrellas and benches are strewn throughout, and heartwarming inclusive signs made by kids, for kids are hung around the outer fence. In the future they plan to put a building down with a proper entrance that has bathrooms and a concession stand. A friend of mine that uses a wheelchair was excited that she could finally swing with her daughter. This place is magic, guys. And it's not even finished. Super highly recommend a visit!

This thing has been around for I'd say 25-30 years (???) Our kids LOVED this playground! Some of the comments was "This is the best playground everrrr." Or "This is the biggest playground over ever seen!" They had so much fun playing hide and seek in all the nooks and crannies that these wooden playground always had! Definitely recommend! There are also baseball, football, soccer fields as well as tennis courts and basketball courts here. We saw a a covered pavilion with a couple picnic tables and a port-o-potty.

Buckland park has 3 different playgrounds spread out in one big park. One is more suited for toddlers, another for smaller kids (3-5) and then finally another one for bigger kids (5+). So if your kid gets tired of one, they can walk to another one. There are plenty of fields to run around on, fly kites, etc. Seems like there's always some children's baseball going on there. There's also a relatively new and well maintained basketball (4 hoops) and tennis courts (2). A good place to host a child's birthday part. I believe there is some indoor space that can be rented (lodge/ pavilion).

There is a large sandpit and as anyone who has raised a toddler knows, this is a huge hit for the little ones. What makes Ellwanger Barry special is that there are many donated toys available for kids to play with in the sandbox- old tonka trunks, sand buckets, etc. Outside of the sandbox, there is assortment of other outdoor toddler toys to ride and play in such as a playhouse, bikes, and self-propelled cars and riding toys. The playground itself is nice and there is a mix of equipment for varying ages. The slides are made of metal though, so watch out during the hot summer days or make sure your little one wears protection. Parents here are usually very outgoing and converse while the little ones play.
