Can't believe I've been living in the area for over a decade and never thought to check it out. Ironically, I only discovered this place because I had to park nearby and walk nearly 3 blocks to the Mediterranean Grill which proved to be an underwhelming experience, but noticed this place due to the "Zagat rated" sign in the window which piqued my interest. Well, sometimes the best things happen by pure chance...and thus I came back to try out this place a couple weeks later, and found it to be far and away the best Greek/Mediterranean food I've ever had in the entire greater Boston area! It's easy to see why this place is Zagat rated. Easily beats out bigger, trendier and fancier-looking, much pricier "Greek" places such as Zo Greek in Somerville's Assembly Square (review upcoming) as well as the more downmarket hole in the wall places like Falafel King. Everything was very fresh and flavorful. Loved the Sampler Plate for two, everything on it was absolutely scrumptious and next time I might order one just for myself so I don't need to share it with anyone else, hahaha...really brings out your inner greedy-S.O.B.! Also loved that their fresh-cut french fries are actually pan-fried, not deep fried...first time I've ever encountered that anywhere in this city, and they were also crazy good...instead of just tasting the oil as happens with deep-frying (especially if they are frozen fries with that yucky mushy cardboard texture) you actually get the full flavor of the (gasp!) POTATOES, and do not need to drown them in ketchup or salt the living daylights out of them. Truly a "homemade" experience! We tried both the "Greek" fries and the regular fries, both were rave-worthy...and this is from someone who normally avoids fries in restaurants because they are usually made from tasteless frozen potatoes. Lamb kebab and moussaka were also excellent, as was the baklava and galaktoboureko. Baklava outside of the Mediterranean and Middle East tends to be very mediocre and overly sweet...not here! Lastly, it's a beautiful and charming spot. It doesn't make any attempt to be trendy or gimmicky. Just has a warm friendly ambiance, which also describes the service. Can't recommend this place enough...will definitely be one of my regular go-to places! read more

I love Greek food and I knew from my husband that Boston has a big Greek community and great restaurants if you want a traditional Greek fare, exactly what I wanted. The places he used to go are gone, some replaced by local chains, casual in line with national chains. I wasn't interested in that sanitized version of Greek food that I knew it's lack authenticity. I did lots of research looking for a family owned restaurant (Yelp wasn't helpful at all). Found the Greek Corner in an article about best Greek restaurants in Boston, after looking into the menu and address, I realized that it was close to our accommodation, a few minutes of walking away! Greek Corner it was meant to be! We dined there after our first full day in Boston, after long hours of walking, working and sightseeing. The restaurant was cozy, nice decor, with a few regular customers. We were greeted right away, asked to sit where we wanted, so we picked a table by the window. Got water from the house right away. Customer service is attentive, not hovering, just right. We order portions of gyros and souvlaki, they both come with salads and fries or rice. Avery, our waiter substituted for free for us regular fries with Greek fries (they come with cheese, sprinkled with oregano), and we thought that was so nice and welcoming! Food was great, classic, traditional in the good way, the meat is tender, flavorful, the salads are fresh, the feta cheese is outstanding. The gyro plate coms with pita bread. We got Mythos beer to go with the food, not amazing, had it before in Greek restaurants but why go with anything that's not Greek? For dessert, we shared a Galaktoboureko, a cheese/vanilla custard pie in phyllo dough with cinnamon sprinkled on top, it melts in your mouth! Perfect place to chill and decompress after a long day, relaxing, great service, good food! We also came back here during our last full day in Boston. It was a change of plans. This year, we seem to go on a new personal trend while travelling - we love a restaurant and keep going back LOL! It was a rainy day, we were tired and wanted to stay away from tourist traps so coming back to a nice neighborhood spot where you know what you'll get it was comforting. We were recognized by the staff right away, picked the same time and ordered Greek red wine - Vin de Crete (just OK) and I got a Moussaka, a nice hot dish, loved the potatoes and eggplant, a classic dish, I chose rice pilaf this time around. My husband went for the Pastitso, perfect for a cooler day. He also got rice pilaf and the dish was perfect. They both come with the Greek salads which we loved! For dessert, we went classic again, shared a portion of Baklava (my husband had his eyes set on in from our previous time), and it didn't disappoint! Prices are reasonable here, service is nice, we loved having Avery taking care of us, nice to chat with, very fun and kind. It really feels like a cozy neighborhood spot where you are taken care of! All these years later and we still love the food here. The service can sometimes be spotty but most days it is good. The ambiance is still the same and nothing really has been changed. We like their appetizer sampler plate, fried zucchini and eggplant, gyros and lamb shank. Tzatziki is fabulous as always. Hummus is not good and the spinach pie can also be a hit or miss. Appetizer sampler: Hummus was ok, taramosalata was too sweet, tzatziki was thin and wasn't in a container so it ran all over the other foods. Chicken kebab plate: chicken was spiced fairly well but hadn't been properly brine or marinated so it was rather dry. Lamb kebab plate, first it was 4 chunk of meat which were about half the serving size at most other restaurants. The lamb was extremely chewy with lots of connective tissues. One of the four was so bad that it was inedible. Low quality meat and lack of proper marinading to compensate for it. No reason to return when there are so many other options right nearby read more

I came here with a friend who is a regular here at this family owned business. We stopped in for a light lunch. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean. It's a casual spot that has a reputation of having consistently great Greek food. It's not surprising that the business seems to be doing well as there were many customers, however, were able to get a table right away. I had the Horiatiki (village salad). All the ingredients tasted fresh and delicious. I will definitely return next time I'm in the area! read more

The Greek corner is one of my go to favorite Greek restaurants in the United States. The food is authentic fresh and crisp. So is the service. The restaurant itself is very spacious, spread out in spotlessly clean. Greek music walks out of speakers at just the right decibel level. The menu is jampacked with excellent options. I change up my menu selections often. Probably my favorite is the very affordable priced lamb chops which come with a side salad and rice or fries. I have both dined in and ordered take out from Greek Corner over the past few years and have only positive things to say about this restaurant. Tonight, I ordered take out via Grub Hub because I am sick and want a homemade meal, but don't have the energy to cook. The food was quick (my order was delivered early) and everything was still warm and tasted like a Greek mama had just taken it out of the oven. I ordered the Moussaka (like a Greek lasagna with eggplant and beef) with a side salad and rice pilaf, some Avgolemono Soup (chicken, lemon and rice) and a piece of spinach pie. The servings are generous, so I have plenty of leftovers for tomorrow. OPA..... Stopped in recently due to a recommendation by Guy Fieri the Diner Drive In's and Dives. As usual his endorsement does not be great. I'd say it's a moderate Greek restaurant meaning not special to make me come back. The ambiance of of a traditional Greek joint with murals on the wall depicting urban Greece. Our waitress was a real Greek so this added to our experience but I can have that at in-laws house as well. Ordered a feta & olives plate , saganaki and two pork Souvlaki Gyros. Feta was dry and olives were smaller kalamatas. Not something lost Greeks serve. Gyros we're OK nothing I'd scream OPA over however the Saganaki was absolutely amazing. Last night I had a craving for avgolemono soup, but our usual take out place (Gyro City) had run out of it! So we did some online sleuthing on Grubhub to find another Greek restaurant and came across this place which I didn't know of but decided to give a try and ordered delivery for - of course Avgolemono soup and the grilled chicken dinner with rice pilaf and Greek salad. The hubs got the Corner's special gyro. Delivery came in a decent amount of time considering they are about 4 miles away. Soup was nice exactly like I was hoping except that it was lukewarm and a bit less lemony - both issues easily solved by microwaving for thirty seconds and adding a small squeeze of lemon that came with the dinner. It was so nice and comforting to eat the soup along with the pita bread. Very satisfying. I tried a little bit of the grilled chicken too and that was really tender and flavorful and the salad was fairly fresh and came with feta cheese. Hubby really liked his gyro and said: "It was awesome! The lettuce, onions tomatoes were fresh crispy and cool and the meat was tender and flavorful." I will say that the grilled chicken dinner was a tad pricey at almost $21 and the Grubhub delivery plus service fee was also relatively high. I guess it must be because they're in Cambridge. But the food was great and satisfied the craving lol! Plus I have a whole meal of leftovers from it, so no complaints there! Overall good fresh tasty Greek food! read more

The delivery time indicated by Uber Eats passed by but I did not receive my food. After waiting for about 10 minutes passed delivery time, I openened my front door to investigate what was going on and to my surprise I noticed my order was left silently on my front door mat. disgusting! Also I left a tip for the driver on the bill, but the Uber Eats invoice attached with my order did not show it!! We've been meaning to try Greek Corner for a while, and finally found an excuse to come for a weekday lunch. The restaurant is spacious and homey and the our server was knowledgeable. We ended up ordering more than we could eat (by a lot) and packed around 1 meal's worth of food to go. The appetizer sampler plate ($18) was great -- I liked all of the components. I've had similar appetizer samplers at other Mediterranean restaurants and this was one of the better ones in terms of flavors. The hummus and spanakopita were particularly tasty. I'd get this again. The fried calamari ($14) was plentiful and tasty. The fry was not too greasy, the breading was light and crispy, and the calamari was tender. I would get this again. The chicken kebab plate ($18) was a good amount of food. I didn't love the chicken -- it wasn't very tender and it was pretty lightly seasoned. The onion in between the chicken pieces was pretty burnt. The rice pilaf was a bit disappointing as well. I liked the Greek salad -- good seasoning and fresh vegetables. The special gyro ($11) was decent. The gyro wasn't strongly flavored so it kinda blended into the bread. The sauce was also unevenly distributed (mostly at the bottom). We probably wouldn't get this again. Overall we really enjoyed the appetizers and calamari at Greek Corner, but didn't love the entrees that we tried. The prices are definitely reasonable -- you get a lot of food for a decent price. Next time I'm craving Greek appetizers, I know where to come! read more

The food is authentic, and on a Monday night, they are doing a huge takeout business. Families and friends are still meeting here to talk and chat. This has been one of my favorite home-cooking style ethnic food places to come. The food is very tasty and not all hyped up. The falafels are to die for. One of the few places that do them right is Cambridge or Boston. The Saganaki is not the excellent kind they used to use, but I'll keep ordering it every time. We enjoy the house's red wine. It's a nice laid-back place to share food and conversation over the food you need to eat with your fingers and bread. The staff is friendly and has always been slow. Though once you have their attention, they get it all in and out to you asap. I think they have slipped a little, but it's slow. I hope to meet some of my Greek friends here and get their feedback, but they all eat her. It's still #1 Greek in the city. read more

The place is family run and always on point with their service. I took people here to eat in and they also serve up amazing full plate Greek meals. I've been here a couple of times and both times I've enjoyed my meals. It's a simple low-key neighborhood type of place. But that really works to its advantage in my opinion. Each time I visited there has been a relaxed, laid back, comfortable atmosphere that makes for a pleasant dining experience. The wait staff is friendly, helpful and dutifully answered the few questions that I had. The food is solid and the portions are very respectable for the price. They have a few Greek beers to choose from as well as some other no so adventurous selections. Each time I've ordered kebabs of some sort and been very satisfied. Greek corner- what happened? I have been going here for years and always enjoy the experience. This last time fell far from the mark. We ordered a take out lunch on Sunday which rang in at over a shocking $50 for two dishes. Outrageous. When we unboxed the meals, the warm grilled chicken had been placed on top of the salad which left all the lettuce wilted and a runny mess. The vegetarian plate had a flavorful, yet meager amount of hummus which was overwhelmed with garlic and the chickpeas weren't processed into a paste and rather chunky. The included falafel was large and had a good flavor though it was quite desiccated and crumbly; I suspect it might have been leftover from the night before or simply over-fried and salty. The chicken was flavorful, but the French fries were a limp, soggy mess. It all had great flavors, but was overcooked or poorly done. I'm sad to say that this once great local haunt has let me down. read more

I am trying to limit my carbs so only had a taste of the pilaf, and again, it was simple and fresh. It was hard to not eat it all! I just ordered a village salad with chicken for delivery and am reading some of these bad recent reviews while I wait and either I was lucky or the other diners weren't. Great foods, one of my favorite Greek spots in North Cambridge. I never dining in but people seem very thoughtful and genuinely here.

First thing to note: the staff were super friendly even though I only interacted with them to pick up my order. For the food: I ordered the special souvlaki and enjoyed it. I think it had a lot of potential - the tzatziki sauce that comes on the pita is truly impressive. However, I think the sauce could have been more evenly dispersed throughout the pita or more generous overall since some bites were a little dry. I think the meat (pork) had good flavor but it was in pretty big chunks and sometimes lacked tzatziki which contributed to the dryness. I would definitely go again! Also, my friend got the baklava and said it was "really, really good" so that is definitely something I will be trying next time. read more

Haven't ordered from here for a while since it was going downhill. Well now, it's hit rock bottom. 2 Black hairs in my food. Tiny portions for the price. And whomever changed the Chicken Soup recipe, should consider changing it back. Gross! So unless you like hair with a side of food. Don't waste your money. This is my go to place for reasonably priced and tasty gyros. Their pita is very soft and flavorful and their meat is well-seasoned. The size is decent though sometimes the amount of filling in the gyro varies; sometimes it's packed with goodness and other times, it can be on the sparser side. There is plenty of seating, though parking may be tricky since there is no private lot. There is street parking and some parking in the adjacent neighborhoods. The service is pretty fast, so this is a nice place to grab a quick bite! read more
