Did an order for pickup using ubereats. It was my first time trying this restaurant. The food is really good. I enjoyed everything we ordered but I wish I had gotten more of the falafel to try because It was so good. We ordered enough for 4 people and mostly vegetarian items since we were sharing plates with a vegetarian. I ordered takeout from Fattoush. The chicken kabob was excellent, well seasoned, and juicy. I'd recommend that dish the most. The staff were very kind too. I was surprised by some of the portion sizes. I ordered a tabbouleh ($8 according to the website) and they provided a small tub of salad that was seemingly half empty. Had the lamb and beef shawarma wrap again, and it was even better than the first time! The meat was nice and hot, and the flavors really popped. The gentleman who rang me up (maybe the owner?) gave me a side of turnip pickles that were different than the ones in the wrap and said it would add a different flavor and goes well with the garlic paste I added. Some of the best mediterranean food I've ever had! The workers were very nice and accommodating to our requests. We wanted the falafel plate but with rice pilaf instead of one of the items and they did it no issue. The falafel is THE BEST falafel I've ever had, and I've had a lot of falafel. The rice pilaf was buttery and delicious. The hummus was also really good. They serve it with pickles and pickled turnips that were also very good. It comes with tahini and pita bread. We also ordered a side of homemade pita chips. Tons of food for the price. There is not much seating, but they provided us with plates and plastic utensils. I went to Fattoush located on 142 Massachusetts Ave, #ArlingtonMA This takeout spot features Mediterranean and vegan eats, including falafel, shawarma and babaganoush. For appetizers we had the Mouhamara dip with homemade pita chips. The Mouhamara contains aleppo pepper, walnuts, bread crumbs, lemon and an assortment of spices. We also have Tolma (Grape leaves) which had lemon juice, rice and onions. For entrees we had the chicken shawarma plate. This contained chicken on rice pilaf, side salad and hummus. We also had Lahmajun or "Armenian pizza" which is a #flatbread topped with minced vegetables and herbs including onions, garlic, tomatoes, #redpeppers, and parsley, flavored with spices such as chili pepper and paprika, then baked (my personal favorite!). Finally, we had Sujuk or Armenian sausage sandwich which is made with beef, lots of garlic and a mix of aromatic spices This place has great to go options for dips and/or desserts including baklava. Excellent food at a good price The food here is far better than average and that's why I gave it 5 stars. It's not a comfortable place to eat because it only has a few stools inside, but the authentic flavors and tasty, well-prepared food greatly outweigh the seating (in my opinion.) Today I had the Fattoush Salad, with falafel and a side of Baba Ghanoush. The salad had mint, and a light and interesting dressing that they say had pomegranate in it. The baba was good, but the falafel is the tastiest I've found in the area. I recommend them served with a drizzle of tahini (that Fattoush will supply). Visited on 8/13/22 for takeout and ordered 2 platters and an appetizer for $46.51 after tax. This was enough food to feed 2 reasonably hungry people and 1 not that hungry person - I think it would have been a bit too much food for 2 regularly hungry people but not quite enough for 3. The Manqoushi cheese was served exactly like a quesadilla (which is kind of what it is), the cheese had tons of aromatics, really nicely spiced! The platters here are really interesting (in a good way) - lots of different flavors in each one. You get a small alad with a tahini dressing, some hummus, and a protein on rice. Highly recommend sharing platters unless you're really hungry, it's a lot of food! Great flavors - tons of spices, but none overwhelming the others. At $20 ea, the platters still do feel a little pricy for just chicken or beef or sausage, even though they're an above average amount of food. They also are kind of similar (only switching up the protein between the different platters), so keep this in mind if you're sharing food. We really wanted to like this place - we love Mediterranean food. And we're always excited for Arlington to have more good takeout options. First of all don't order online. They do not have many of the menu items and you only find out when you show up that they don't have it. We ordered chicken kebabs and chicken shawarmas for lunch and quinoa salad. Kebabs for the kids. Showed up and I'm told that my order won't have kebabs because "they take 3 hours". What? Why is it available on your menu then? No quinoa salad either - no explanation. Many other people walked in to order while I was there and were told that they did not have items on their menu as well. Took nearly an hour for two chicken shawarma. Got them home and they had such a weird taste - nothing like we've ever experienced with Shawarma before. No idea what spice it was. What a feast we had! Everything looked so good, it was hard to decide what to try so we ordered lots of different things, and we enjoyed all of them! We ordered some standard favorites -- tabouli, white bean salad, hummus, mouhamara, spinach pie, and fattoush salad...and tried some new things too -- quinoa salad, eech, and pumpkin kebbe. We loved it all! Everything tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful! It's hard to say which was my favorite -- I have two: the fattoush salad (they put on top some rolled-up crunchy pita chips that are flavored with zaatar) and the pumpkin kebbe (I loved all the different flavors all together -- the spinach, lemon, and pumpkin), and Nick liked the mouhamara best. My favorite part was that they gave us small bites of a new dessert they will add to the menu soon. I don't know what it's called, but it was a soft dough stuffed with sweet cheese. I took a deep dive into some appetizers for my first visit. I was very impressed with pumpkin kibbe. The filling was quite complex and it was a good size. The spinach pie was as good as any I've had at a number of places. The single skewer chicken kabob was perfectly cooked and the spices were perfectly balanced. The serving size for the hummus was quite adequate. Finally, I wouldn't be put off by some of the early negative intiviews. It's so easy to just spit out negativity at a new restaurant that had the usual challenges to delivering superlative offerings. While searching Yelp for places to eat near my hotel, I found this hidden gem! I stopped by for a quick lunch and was sad to see that it is a take-out location; however, they did have three stools by the window, so I sat down and had lunch which provided me the opportunity to chat with the owner over a chicken shawarma wrap and pumpkin kebbe balls. I am not a big fan of visiting the same establishment twice while on travel when there are so many places to try, but.....this place was too good! I went back tonight for dinner (and lots of leftovers for another lunch). This time I tried the Lahmajoun, jalapeno hummus, fried eggplant, mouhamara, and a meat pie. While all were exceptional, the fried eggplant and mouhamara stole the show! I truly felt like I was sitting in the Middle East eating the "salads" before a big meal! The flavors were spectacular! I had a shawarma and a meat pie. The shawarma was okay, not particularly good. But the meat pie was terrible. Barely any filling, but the biggest problem is that it had a smell that I associate with the dumpsters that are behind some restaurants. Its not the smell of garbage, but a very specific mild, unpleasant odor. Hard to describe, but somethings seriously wrong if that smell is in the food you serve. read more

I asked "What's the best? I like everything!". The cashier asked if I wanted a plate or a wrap-- I responded plate (though retrospectively, I would have said "whatever's best"). She recommended I get the chicken kebab plate. The flavor/sauce on the chicken is great, but the chicken itself was dry. I'm not surprised-- chicken is often dry! But why did the cashier recommend it so highly? The salad on the side was mediocre-- would have been better if it was fully tossed in dressing rather than the dressing poured on top. I believe it was supposed to come with pita, but they didn't give me any. Hummus was good (average). I also tried the lahmajoun-- good, but wouldn't get again. Their wraps are tiny--the halloumi "wrap" is just 2 pieces of cheese on seasoned bread and the plates--at $17 each--are even more of a gouge. This falafel wrap was fabulous. So carefully prepared, every ingredient perfectly balanced. Generous.
