Delicious Greek food on the corner of 60th and Halsey. Located next door to Trela, Greek Street offers a select variety of tasty food 11:00 to 3:00 daily. Several mezzes, each served with house-made pita, a pair of salads (Greek and orzo), and a handful of mains (calamari, souvlaki, lamb burger, gyro). At our last visit we opted for the calamari (served with tzatziki) and the lamb burger (served with arugala, kalamata olives, pickled onions, yogurt aoli, and whipped feta) along with a Greek salad. Generous servings. The salad was easily big enough for two. All in all, really an outstanding lunch. Outstanding food, carefully made. Lovely restaurant and inviting ambiance. Excellent service. This is a place to visit often.

Greek Street is a delightful lunch spot. They have a small menu, but it focuses on the classics, allowing you to get a quick, affordable meal in pleasant surroundings. It's a narrow, order-at-the-counter experience, but the tables are set up for your arrival, with napkins, silverware, water, and hammered copper cups that are wonderful with iced drinks. I tried the lamb/beef gyro, and it was well worth coming back for. It had an unusual addition, a small number of fries were inside the gyro. There weren't a lot of them, but they provided interesting variations on texture and flavor, in a menu item that already has a lot of variety. My dining companion raved about the lamb burger - it's always a difficult decision on return trips to enjoy something I already know I'll love, or to try something new. Speaking of enjoyment, I had a Bikos orange soda with my meal - it was terrific - not too sweet, and a perfect accompaniment to my gyro. FYI, parking can be tight, but I've usually been able to find spaces on nearby side streets.

Nice clean spot. Good prices. This place is new and authentic Greek. All the right stuff. Tender chicken. The fries are crispy. friendly staff and the dining room is very cute and clean with good lighting. I'll be back.

The menu isn't overly large, which I actually appreciate as it makes choosing much easier and suggests a focus on doing a smaller number of dishes well. We ordered: * Hummus * Spanakopita Hand Pie * Spiced Lamb * Loukaniko Sausage * Oregano Chicken The food was excellent. Everything was simple, thoughtfully prepared, and packed with flavor. There wasn't a lot of fuss or unnecessary complexity ,just well-executed dishes that let the ingredients shine. We genuinely enjoyed almost every item we tried. The cocktails were every bit as good as the food. In fact, I liked the Liquid Gold so much that I ordered a second one. There isn't much in the way of traditional table service since it's a café-style ordering system, but everything ran efficiently. Pricing felt perhaps slightly on the higher side relative to the portion sizes.

The chicken kabob I got was super flavorful and not dry. The pita soft and warm, lightly sliced. The only reason I give 4 stars is because the skewers are quite small, as is the pita, and only one item comes in the order. It wasn't super clear there was only one in the order or that 1 wasn't really enough for a more substantial meal.

I've visted Tréla 3 times now, and it has been delicious every time. Additional highlights include the tirokafteri dip (first time to taste it, and it's spicy but so good), the well seasoned pita, kolokithakia, either of their orzo dishes, and the souvlaki. Highly recommend doing family style with a group of 2-4 people so that you can try and share lots of different things. After enjoying dinner, they have a great dessert menu for only $6 apiece, and each is delicious. Another enjoyable thing to share if you're pretty full from dinner. If you want delicious, authentic Greek cuisine, this is the place to go!! The staff are very kind and helpful as well. Highly recommend Tréla!

We were able to try a wide variety of dishes, and every single one was exceptional. I have dietary restrictions (no onions or garlic), and the kitchen and staff were incredibly accommodating. They prepared separate versions of several dishes for me without hesitation, and I never felt like I was getting a lesser experience. It's rare to find a restaurant that can accommodate food sensitivities so thoughtfully while still delivering incredible flavor. The food was absolutely delicious from start to finish, and the service was impeccable. The staff was warm, attentive, and made our birthday celebration feel special without ever being overbearing. Everyone in our group left talking about how amazing the food was. We couldn't have asked for a better meal or a better overall experience. Mediterranean Exploration Company has definitely earned a spot on our list of favorite Portland restaurants, and we can't wait to come back.

We weren't too hungry and ordered 3 dishes to share - the hamachi crudo, baked feta with Blackberries, and braised Greek greens. The service was pretty fast, we received our food within 15 mins. The hamachi crudo was tasty with fresh fish that balanced well with the yummy smoked eggplant, tamarind soy, black harissa mayo, and crispy ginger. The baked feta was the heartiest dish, it came out with piping hot pitas to dip into the creamy savory/sweet feta and blackberries. The braised Greek greens felt like the most basic dish out of the 3, collard greens cooked with a lemon/olive oil finish, which tasted as described but not exciting enough to order again. Just as the name implies, this restaurant is a nice way to try Mediterranean dishes for those who don't eat it often. Admittedly, the cuisine isn't in our top favorites, but all the dishes were executed well, true to their description, and made for some fun bites.

We didn't have a reservation, but there's was room at the bar alongside the kitchen. That's always the best place to sit because it's like getting a show with dinner. Speaking of dinner, it was excellent. We started with a roasted eggplant dip served with a round, fluffy pita bread. So yummy. Next came falafel with tahina and green S'hug sauce, which gives it a spicy kick. The six falafel balls were light and airy, not dense and dry like lots of falafel we've had in the past. Finally, we ended with chicken shawarma, a wonderful confit chicken dish, nicely seasoned, sitting atop large pita pillow. We just folded it up and went from there. The service was fast, friendly and efficient. They suggest ordering two dishes per person, but you don't need to. Three dishes is plenty (even two) depending on what you get. We washed it down with a pilsner beer and homemade blackberry soda. The portions are generous. We'll definitely go back and sample several other dishes.
